Decided to give this place a try and we se whale we did! There's a lot of kabob places but I actually really liked this place ! We got the beef kabob and I also got the lamb kabob and I felt that it was very filling and delicious. You can get an option for the salad or rice and I wished I asked for half and half (not sure if they can do that) but the salad was good and the meat was really tender. I also enjoyed the pita bread they gave us in the beginning. We sat outside as it was warm still and it was really nice plus it's close to the parking garage. You can also opt to sit inside that's connected to the mall as well. I'd come back!

The workers at Maman Joon were super friendly, and if you dine in, they'll bring the food out to your table after making everything fresh. The restaurant is large with lots of seating. kubideh with basmati rice - I was pleasantly surprised by how juicy and beefy the meat was. We asked for the green sauce on the side, which added a nice bit of spice and really brought the dish together. The grilled onions were charred perfectly and had a nice crunchiness that I loved. I do wish the tomatoes were grilled a bit longer--some pieces still tasted a little raw and acidic. The rice comes with a pat of butter on top; it's a nice touch, but next time I'd probably just avoid mixing in the whole thing since it made the rice a bit too rich for me. 3.25/5

At Tyson's for a movie, but we were early, so we decided to explore the food options instead of relying on popcorn. And I'm glad we did because we found Maman Joon tucked away into a side alley. What a find! If you like Middle Eastern food, Maman Joon hits the spot. I got the salmon and rice - perfectly cooked salmon, moist and smooth, with just enough char on the outside to add some crunch. And extra points for the pat of butter laid within the rice! It took longer than expected to get our food, but we got slices of pita bread with various sauces in the meantime, so it all worked out. If you're at Tysons and looking for something new, try Maman Joon and get your fill - you won't be sorry!

I've been to Maman Joon several times now and glad the quality of their food remains the same. Juicy seasoned kabobs with lots of rice and a side of bread if you sit down in the restaurant to eat. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and it can get pretty crowded on weekends. My favorite is the chenjeh kabob and chicken kabob.

I've tried a bunch of their kabobs, including the Salmon. But on my last visit, we went for the lunch special that came with Kubideh on rice (half rice half salad) and Chicken Kanob on rice. Both were tasty! The Kubideh was definitely my favorite - super juicy and packed with flavor. The chicken kabob was really tender and delicious too!

The lamb and chicken kabobs are SO incredible. Usually the lamb kabobs i've had are so chewy and my jaw hurts eating it, but this one is so juicy and tender and seasoned perfectly. the chicken kabob is my favorite. it might actually be the best chicken kabob i've had in this area. so juicy and seasoned perfectly, i could eat it for days. i love the basmati rice as well, it's warm and fluffy and is so good with the kabobs. the place is always crowded but the service is fairly quick still. great location in tyson's, ambiance is great they also have outdoor seating.

Soooooo yummmmy! I honestly am I shocked this spot is not more hyped up. We really enjoyed all our food here. Located in Tysons mall. The service was okay nothing to rave about. They were extremely quick! The ambiance is casual, there's seating inside and outside. The pricing is a bit high, but they give you A LOT of food. I ordered the combo beef kebab and steak kebab. I'd give it a 10/10 for both meats, very well seasoned. My bf ordered the chicken and beef which ended up being really good as well. Overall, I'll definitely be visiting again!

Didn't know this place existed at Tysons Corner. It's hidden back by the Lucid and Michael Kors stores. If you don't know about it, you should. The food here was phenomenal! My gf and I stopped in for lunch one day and knew from the smell of the food alone that it was gonna be good. It was a tad pricier but they also give a good amount of food. I ordered the chicken and steak kebabs. She ordered the steak and kofta kebabs. They give pita bread and dip to eat while you wait. Note that they only give the one sauce per person! More sauces costs extra. The kebabs were so flavorful and tender. The service was fairly quick. The manager (maybe owner?) was kind. He did end up giving me an extra sauce for free since I didn't know they were extra. The food only took about 5 mins or so to come out. The ambiance is super casual. There's tables inside and some outdoors as well. They can hold a good number of people. Definitely will be coming back here. One order could definitely make for two meals for a lot of people!

So, I stumbled upon Maman Joon Kitchen at Tyson's and l can say its a solid chicken spot Vegetarian Friendly: Sadly this spot is not a great place as a lot of the menu is meat heavy. They do have options but you should really eat here as there main attraction is meat Decor: The ambiance is inviting and chill. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. And the bonus is they have outside heaters that keep you warm if you want to sit outside. Food Highlights: The Chicken Kabob stole the show for me as it was very well marinated and they included bread and yogurt which was great! Portion Size: Portion sizes are pretty good here so you definitely won't leave hungry, and you might even have some leftovers to enjoy later. But I wish they included 1-2 pieces of chicken as there was a lot more rice to chicken. Price: Considering the quality and quantity of the food, I'd say the prices are reasonable especially for Tyson Area. And just wanted to say there service was really good and got the chance to met the owner Peter Tabibian who was very nice and welcoming! Would I go Back: So even though it's good if I am in the mood for Chicken and Rice I would rather go to DCG as it has more toppings. But for a kabob place it was pretty good!

Combo 1 ( Beef Koobideh & Chicken Breast Kabob ) with Basmati Rice, Charred Onions/Tomato and butter.

I drove to Tysons Corner once just to try this place out. It's tucked away inside the actual mall ( bottom floor past Macys ) but very spacious for lots of seating. I ordered the Combo 1 ( Ground Beef Koobideh Kabob & Chicken Breast Kabob with rice ) as that's my go to whenever I order from Moby Dicks. You really can't go wrong with both as I really savored the Koobideh Kabob and it's seasoning and just the charred taste from the Chicken Breast chunks were satisfyingly to me. They give you a lot of rice with a slice of butter to mix around in. If you plan to eat here, go on an empty stomach. By the time I finished eating, I felt extremely bloated and had to walk around to let my stomach digest for a bit.. that's why the mall is there right? The people there were nice and asked me how was my food where I thought which was nice. They care about people that eat there and it shows that they want to ensure your satisfied with your meal. Good on them for looking out. If there's only one complaint I could make, the music is a tad too loud. Despite moving to another table, it was still pretty noisy.

Best kabobs I've had yet! I've been on a quest to find great kabobs and man did this place deliver. The lady that took my order was very helpful and great eye contact with great customer service. I got the ground beef kabob and chicken kabobs with an added salmon. The salmon needed to be cooked like a second longer had a very fishy undercooked taste but overall amazing amazing amazing. The rice was fluffy and complimented the kabobs perfectly. Thank you will be back ASAP

Bottom right - menu shows 6% fee for inflation (shown as the service and packaging fee on receipt - kinda crazy)
    Esha Z.

Visited today - had a code to get a free appetizer and 15% off. They honored it at the register, It's located next to the Michael Kors so it's right in front of the parking garage where &pizza and dry bar are located. They honored my coupon but upon returning home, no appetizer was in my bag :( ! Also, even with the discount it came out to the same price bc they charge a 6% inflation fee for service and packaging .... Lolll I've never been somewhere that charges a fee for a takeout container, and if you're not dining in there shouldn't be a fee like that imo. Otherwise: The wait time isn't bad, maybe about 10-15 min, which is decent. The kabobs were okay, my sister said it tastes exactly like Moby Dick kabob, even down to the sauces. The portion is decent, the chicken was tender, BUT the naan/bread that they give with the order is so small, you have to ask for green chutney, they don't just give it to you, and I had a missing appetizer. The food is okay, but I wouldn't say it's the best in the dmv, considering there's so many other better places in the area. I probably would not go here again.

Combo 1 (steak & chicken) Combo 2 (steak & ground beef)

The wife and I dined at Maman Joon Kitchen on 8/25/24 and were very impressed. My wife had Combo 2 (Koobideh = Ground Beef and Chenjeh = Prime Beef/Steak), while I went with Combo 1 (Koobideh and Chicken). Both dishes came with jasmine rice, a few peppers, and pita bread with a cucumber yogurt dip with herbs. The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and had a little spice but nothing overly crazy. The ground beef and steak was rich and savory, and all the meats were tender and soft. The location is inside Tysons Corner Mall and is convenient, with its entrance and patio that face the street, offering a nice outdoor seating option. We wanted to try the Falafel, but unfortunately, it was sold out. Despite this, everything we tried was amazing, and we'll definitely be back. Next time, we plan to try the Salmon, Lamb, and Persian Ice Cream. The only downside is the limited seating inside, so if you visit on the weekend, you may need to sit on the patio. Overall, highly recommended for both locals and visitors!

Yes. Joon is a completely different brand and concept. Maman Joon is casual and Joon is high end and pricy. Joon is double the price than Maman Joon. They have a Michelin chef. Maman Joon has less frills but delicious home style food.

It's an upscale environment and for lunch there were a lot of corporate-looking diners. It's a pleasant atmosphere and the staff carefully seats you tables apart so you're not all crowded and it's not too loud. Excellent. We weren't particularly hungry so we asked share a full menu item and then ordered a salad to share. The prefix comes with either a salad or a dip(?) and we opted for the dip. The kubideh kebab was tasty. It was juicy and fresh. The rice was good. The salad was questionable. We didn't really like it but we didn't hate it. I wondered if it was just the vinegar or maybe mustard that was hitting too strong. My friend thought maybe it was stale like they'd pickled it too long. Not sure what it was but we couldn't finish it. When we had eaten about 60% the server came by and offered us pita bread. It would've been nice to have it from the beginning... Overall I would return to try their other foods.

We were having dinner with some friends and this was centrally located - plus one of our friends is Persian and she insisted - so we were offered a lovely glimpse into this beautiful cuisine. As any of you who have read my reviews know, I am Greek and Greek food is among my favorites. Well, Persian food is "kinda sorta" like Greek food only slightly different to keep it interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. We started out the meal with a sampling of appetizers. Zucchini fritters, hummus, fresh tomato salad, octopus, beet salad. All wonderful and all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented! For our main course, we had some lamb, a ground beef kabob and chicken kabobs. All wonderful. The lamb was - in my opinion - perfectly cooked; the meat was "fall off the bones" tender, just the way I like it and just the way that Greek cuisine would cook it. I did not need a knife to cut it. WOW!!! There was also a beef stew so luxuriously seasoned that it transported me to the Middle East! Cinnamon, probably star anise, cloves definitely! Really different and lovely. As good as all the food was, the rice might be the star of the show for me. They have a way of preparing rice so that it has a crust to it. The outer layer is crispy, crunchy (in a good way) and I loved that. The inside rice is tender and chewy. Divine Divan!!! The ambiance of the dining room is okay. Nothing special. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to add an additional star to this review. Service was professional and fast. Will I return to Divan? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Oh yes but not on a night when I want a table there!!!

There are several reasons why I would choose this restaurant again for my wedding: 1. Food quality was amazing. Both our Iranian and American guests raved about the food, saying it was the best food they have had at a wedding. The meat was tender and juicy and the rice was delicious without being oily, which is very hard to do. Our guests went for seconds and thirds and majority of the food was finished even though we ordered extra! Even my mom, who is a very harsh judge of Persian food, loved it. 2. Service was excellent. Wedding planning is a really stressful process, so choosing a caterer is really important. Coordination with Mr. Sanaei was very smooth. He gave us his personal phone number and texted us everything we needed within hours (including COI and business license). The business is very organized. The delivery was on-time, and all the food arrived well-packed. 3. Most importantly, the staff at the actual restaurant is just really kind. I initially just went for a meal and after being treated with such kindness, I decided to use them for catering. Honestly, I get a feeling that the staff are more like my cousins. The ability to run an efficient and organized business, while still giving us a homy/comforting feeling is what makes this Maman Joon so special! 4. Price is great! I got a quote from several Persian restaurants in the DMV area (and even other Maman Joon branches) and this was lower for the exact same meals. Overall, I highly recommend Maman Joon at McLean as both a restaurant and catering!
