I rarely write reviews but I had to say something. I came in after my workout, and I've lived here for many years but I've never eaten here, so I went in and I was kind of just staring at the menu and mumbled that I had never been there before and the woman who's working there very sweetly offered me a freshly made falafel just to try it. I know people offer samples here and there but there was something very generous and sweet about this. She served it in a little cup with hummus and tabouli. It was delicious, one of the best I've had so I ordered a classic pita. It's one of the best falafel sandwiches I've had. The hummus is super creamy dreamy, the falafel is light and flavorful, super fresh and overall super yummy. She told me that her favorite item is the falafel veggie burger so I will definitely be back to try it! I also found the pricing to be very reasonable. Lately everything is $25 and up which is a lot for lunch in my opinion! I don't wanna spend a lot of money that I'm looking at fast food which I don't eat or Subway which isn't bad but not always something I'm in the mood for. This was $12.99. read more

Nice outdoor eating area. My bf and I have driven by this place numerous times over the years and finally decided to stop by. Covid-19 measures were in place. People were masked, distancing was in place and indoor dining was closed. The menu was posted above the counter. The selection was wonderful. There was even a vegan menu! I opted for the veggie burger. My bf chose the chicken gyro. There seemed to be a little language barrier when ordering so make sure your order is correct. My bf's food came out before mine by about 5 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed my veggie burger. My bf said his gyro was okay. There was not enough meat. Pricing was a tad high. Service was satisfactory. One of my all time favorite spots in the SF valley. The lamb gyro is absolutely jam packed with flavor and they don't get cheap on the servings. Fried cauliflower is an epic pairing. Don't forget about the pickles to top off your meal and the sweet treats they have for dessert. To make it better, the staff is always A1! read more

I can't believe that I haven't been here before, especially living in valley for long time. They're actually situated next door to my favorite shave ice place "Get Shave," on corner of Reseda/Prairie. There's a parking lot behind and side of restaurant. Falafel Palace serves fresh and authentic Middle Eastern Food. Casual atmosphere. You can sit either in the dining room or sit outside. The restaurant has good size dining area with plenty of space and tables. They offer wraps and bowls that you can customized, kind of like chipotle assembly concept. Traditional pita sandwiches, flatbreads and plates are also on hand. They also have amazing baklava desserts as well. I ended up ordering a chicken shawarma plate to go and it was fabulous. The chicken was tender, seasoned to perfection and delicious. It came with rice and salad plus a choice of 2 side and pita bread. I got the tabouli and hummus for my side. Both were fresh and on point. The hummus was super creamy and absolutely yummy. Pita bread was pillowy soft, warm and thick. OMG, best pita I've had before...darn should have gotten extra one. My family and I have been going here for 14 years and is THE BEST Mediterranean food hands-down we have had especially for vegetarian and vegan options. I have been all over Los Angeles and New York, must have eaten at 50+ Mediterranean restaurants, and quality here never disappoints. We drive here all the way from Santa Clarita some 25+ miles just to get their food. We love their Mezze Feast including the babaganoush, hummus, falafel and more. The falafel is light and not over fried or heavy. The ingredients are fresh, including the cabbage, and tzatziki and tahini and spicy sauces made daily. Plus, the service is always amazing. The individuals that work here are like a family and have been working here for years. Gina, the owner, is so sweet and puts her heart and soul into this family-owned business. Lastly, the Ambiance is open and bright with a cute courtyard area with a fountain and green hedges. Even though they're located on a busy street, they make you feel like you're in a little oasis. We finally stopped by this place after months of wanting to try it. I'm not familiar with this cuisine so I ordered a little bit of everything with some guidance by the cashier! We started with the falafel balls (which they are known for) and I understand why, these were delicious! We ordered the mixed plate with hummus and baba ghanoush- would highly recommend. The baba ghanoush was a new taste for me, and I loved it. We ordered the classic pita with chicken, which was topped off with tzatziki sauce desert was baklava.... Boring!!! I've been coming here since the 1980's, and probably won't return. I ordered a Gyro, and it was completely tasteless. The meat had no flavor, and the only other items on it was iceberg lettuce and tomato. no onion or Tzatzikizi sauce. I asked for some sauce and they gave me a watered down bottle of tahini sauce. I don't think they even knew what Tzatziki sauce was. My husband had "The Chop" sandwich with falafel, he said it was strange, boring and no flavor. read more

My original plan was to check out a place close by, but it was closed unannounced for a few days. So, I said that it was a good opportunity to go back to Falafel Palace to see if they have upped their game. Ordering is at the counter, when the food is ready, they call for you to pick up. The person who took my order at the register was curt and unfriendly. I asked for a falafel pita ($11.99). I was told that only falafel (3 pieces), hummus, lettuce and tomato would be in the pita. I asked for the red spicy paste in the case, and they said that it would be $1.75 extra just to put it in the pita. Other falafel eateries give you a wide choice of toppings at no extra charge. The falafel pita lacked a wholesome flavor and was nothing to write home about. One good aspect was that your order came with a squeeze bottle of tahini. After I was done, I found other sauces on the counter. Is there room for improvement? Yes. More falafel pieces would have helped, more toppings (cucumber, parsley, onion, etc.), more sauces, and the pita bread needs to be fresh. My pita was falling apart from the get-go. read more

The food is cooked very fresh and I believe the portions are generous and high-quality. They have a lot of delicious sauces to choose from. Got the (baked) Falafel plate, with 2 sides: Hummus and Eggplant salad. Besides 5 large, flat circular baked falafel pieces, the plate also included 2 halves of pita bread, rice, and salad (pieces of iceberg lettuce, tomato, and cucumber). They also have a mini salad bar setup with 5 or 6 little sides (pickles, sauerkraut, cabbages, peppers, etc). Everything there seemed fresh and tasty. Loved the baked Falafel "discs", though some might find them a bit dry compared to the fried balls. I really appreciated having the choice. The hummus was delicious, as was the rice, but I could only eat one spoonful of the Eggplant salad. Turns out it was "smoked" Eggplant salad (not mentioned on the menu), loaded with what seemed to be liquid smoke. I'm sure lots of people love that, but personally it's one of the foods I can't eat. I'm surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet - I've been coming here for a while and it's always been consistently good. The item we always order is the falafel, either in a wrap or the burger, it's always good. Their falafel has a good blend of herbs and spices (hence the beautiful green color), and is always cooked perfectly with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The other item that we love here is the lamb gyro. Today I ordered both the falafel wrap and lamb gyro with the pickles on the side. They forgot my pickles but it was still good without. The lamb gyro had a lot of meat and was so flavorful, and the falafel was delicious as always. Good friendly service. There can be a long wait depending on when you go but the food is made fresh. They have a good selection of vegan offerings as well. Call in your order or order in person so you won't be charged the third party fees. Yes the prices are higher but that is expected, the prices have gone up for a lot of things. The quality of the food is still solid. First of all, everything is additional cost if you want to add something. Second, the lady making my pita did not wear gloves. We ever I am headed into the San Fernando Valley for work or recreation I also stop at Falafel Palace. My first trip to visit Sam and family was August of 1977 when I started graduate school at CSUN. Coming from Minnesota, a wasteland of Middle Eastern Food, I'd never eaten a Falafel or tasted hummus. I fell in love with the amazing variety of flavors and tastes that Falafel Palace offers. Falafel Palace is the bomb! I live nearby and I go there often. What I like about it is that the food is always fresh and they give you very good portions for the money. I've tried several things on the menu to include the baba ghanoush, falafel plate and falafel sandwich. They also have natural juices that are very good. Having driven past this place numerous times, I finally had the craving that would bring me in. Looking back, I wish I tried the food here earlier because I have found my new favorite spot for falafel in the area! FOOD: King Wrap: I am in love with Falafel Palace's King Wrap! This marks one of the few times I actually ordered from a vegan menu and absolutely enjoyed what I ordered. In a large wrap are several pieces falafel, corn, eggplant, seasoned fries, onion, cilantro, and spicy sauce. Drizzle some tahini over each bite and I am in my happy place. I've ordered this twice already, and see myself ordering more often. Falafel (x5 piece): Really good! They're smaller than the falafel at my go-to place for Lebanese food, but all things considered, the falafel here are well-seasoned, crispier, and far more flavorful. I see a x10 piece falafel order with a King Wrap and boreka in my immediate future. Spinach and Feta Borekas: Really good and also better than my go-to spot for Lebanese goodies! The pastry is fresh, light, and crispy, while the spinach and feta filling is savory and flavorful. More feta in the filling would be nice, but it's good as is. Like my King Wrap, I've ordered this twice already. Don't forget to stop by the condiment bar before eating/heading out; their pickles and pickled red cabbage are so good!
