I was looking for somewhere to order delivery from when I remembered Falafel Palace. We had always enjoyed the Vegan Mezze Feast here so that's what we ordered. Consisting of hummus, tabouli, Fried eggplant, eggplant salad, marinated mushrooms, falafel, and lettuce and tomato. A "spicy Turkish sauce" is also normally included but we requested that it be omitted. A piping hot pita was also included. What happened to you guys. Been coming here for 15 years. I usually get the garlic lovers falafel pita. I love the soft bread , best pita bread ever, and sweet garlicky sauce. But this time the sauce tasted bad. And your guy toasted the pita bread on the grill and made it hard and crunchy. ( it's not a tortilla dude). Just wow. What a find. Lamb shawarma pita - absolutely delicious. First and foremost the pita itself was still super warm (took it to go), the hummus was very flavorful and all the ingredients were very fresh. Falafel gyro - some of the best falafel I've ever had. The falafel was perfectly crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Loved the mixed cabbage on the side. And OKAY I was not expecting to walk into the cutest little place (outdoor seating was very inviting) with hand-made pastries on display in the front. And by that I mean pistachio topped baklava. My final bite was dripping with honey, I don't think I breathed the entire time I was eating it. In fact, normally I take pictures of my food but I didn't even remember this time, it was all so delicious. Tons of parking, including in the back. Wow, what a downgrade I used to come here all the time in the 1990s when I was a teenager. I loved it so much man this time around not only were the prices too high but It didn't taste good either they made you spend extra for the sauce and it took too long for the order to get ready then to make it worse I can't write it down but the next day and the bathroom I'll leave it at that. I liked the whole wheat option and the falafel pieces were decent. The lettuce and mealy pink tomatoes didn't help, however. If you want better falafel in the Valley, go to Falafel on Wheels (a food truck in Encino/Tarzana) or Mizlala (in Sherman Oaks). Otherwise, Falafel Palace serves perfectly fine mid-grade stuff. Got a pita combo to go and was pleasantly surprised! It was so yummy and stayed pretty together while others usually fall apart. I like their fries although I wish there was more of it. Pretty reasonable pricing though! I got the mixed lamb and beef shawarma. The meat was so tender and juicy and all the toppings complimented it so well. I like their spicy and cucumber sauce. They also give you cups for sides and she gave me an extra for it being my first time! I tried them all but my favorites were definitely the pickles and sauerkraut. AND I love the fact they have individual refrigerated bottled Tzatziki sauce (my favorite) and other sauces for people!!! Other places they charge a $1.00 for extra Tzatziki sauce!! The 2 sides I picked were Tahina sauce & Garlic Sauce...I can taste the garlic and it's DELICIOUS!!!! I also love their condiment bar...great condiments to choose from & it's clean!!
