Family local owned business that deserves your support. After returning home from vacation I had the desire for Mediterranean food. So, after searching out yelp I thought I'd try Falafel Town. It's a little hard to find affordable Amador Valley...tucked in parking lot next to Shalamar restaurant. Greeted by staff member when I entered. Ordered the combo shawarma plate which includes a small salad of cucumbers and lettuce, chicken, lamb, beef, bed of basmati rice, and tahini sauce for pita bread. The meat was in small pieces instead of thin slices,but very abundant . The plate was tasty and worth the visit. Wish the salad was a little larger with tomatoes and feta cheese and a side of hummus might be worth the upgrade . It's hard to find a good combo plate at a reasonable price in this area, so give it a try . read more

FIRST OFF: the falafel is made just right! So good! And I'm middle eastern so I know my falafel! Secondly, service at this place is unmatched! They took such good care of my mom and I when we ate there for the first time a couple days ago. This place is really good. We tried a couple wraps a few weeks back, just to test it. They were delicious. So, we stopped by again this evening for a shawarma plate (chicken & beef) and it was really good. Taste is amazing, portions are more than ample - great value for great food. My son loved the falafel and I felt they were a bit overcooked in too hot of oil since the outside was dark and the inside was a bit undercooked but I'm Happy with the flavor so just some feedback to the owners. I am glad to see Falafel Town back in the neighborhood. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I had the chicken shawarma plate. It was tasty and the serving was generous! This restaurant shares a parking lot with two other businesses, but I had no problem finding a parking spot. There are several tables for four and a long table down the center of the dining area if you come with a group. The dining area and the portion of the kitchen I could see appeared clean. The service was good (polite and quick), the food was great, and the portion size was awesome (my wife and I got one shawarma combo plate for $16.99). Our dish fed us both plenty, and I was delightfully surprised with the portion size (it was stacked!). Food itself was very tasty (we got the spicy and it wasn't over the top hot, just perfect actually in its flavor!), and it was cooked up fresh right there. Best gyros in the tri-valley! The menu has so many choices besides gyros but I always opt for my favorite beef gyro pita or gyro salad. Walk in order, sit down and order is served with in minutes. The portions are big and I have enough for next day. It's not close to where we live but so worth the 30 minute drive. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were so happy to see the original Falafel Town back at the original location after about a 5 year absence! Truly friendly and welcoming Middle Eastern service and hospitality from everyone on the staff. Just like I remembered it: crispy falafel with creamy insides; tender and flavorful chicken shawarma; perfect tzatziki cucumber sauce that was cool and refreshing; and a pita that was soft and warm. The nice owner gave me some pistachio baklava to try. Wow! So good. This time I had the spicy chicken shawarma (max level), but next time I'll dial it back a bit. The very nice Cashier was helpful and I think she's collecting feedback on the spiciness level. You can ask for regular OR spicy and specify the spiciness level. Even so, with the tzatziki sauce, my chicken spiciness was cooled down significantly. She even offered me extra sauce if I needed it. If you haven't tried Falafel Town yet, be sure to drop by. Or if you remember it from 2017-2019, drop by and say "Hello and Welcome Back." The restaurant is clean and well stocked with napkins, TO GO boxes, and plastic utensils so you can help yourself if you have leftovers from the very generous serving sizes. I occasionally see some coupons in the local mailers. The latest one had "buy one, get one free" on the wraps, which is a great deal. I ordered the lamb gyro medium spicy and it's the best gyro I've ever had. I don't think I've ever had the option for spice but it made it next level. I also got a side of falafel which was also hands down the most flavorful I've ever had. The restaurant was super clean and the kitchen looked very well kept and clean as well.
