Falcon Moving, LLC is one of the best moving companies I have had the pleasure of hiring and working with. I was moving to a new location and with having heavy furniture on my 2nd floor apt I was not going to do it myself. The president of Falcon Moving, LLC. Jason was 1st to contact me and he was very understanding to what I needed in my request for moving. Brandon came out to my residence to provide an estimate and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to tell him what I was looking for and what I needed moved since this was my 1st professional moving experience. As the days that led up to my moving day the communication didn't stop I got emails from Falcon Moving if I had questions I could call and it was easy. I really liked the clear communication that led right up to moving day. When Falcon Movers arrived Mikey R, Luie, and Brandon greeted me at my home I was surprised how easy and flawless they made everything. Mikey R explained everything that was going to happen with the moving process they were very professional & respectful of the area. The biggest and most important that I needed was they disassembled and reassembled my bed and to stop at my storage unit before arriving at my new location. I will never use Falcon Moving again. They brought the wrong truck, sent workers that were slow and talked to much while on the job. They took to long to do the move. What should have taken 4-5 hours took 11 and they tried to charge me for it! I also found several pieces of furniture that were scratched and cut and all they will pay is .30/pound. Don't use Falcon Moving for a local move. You will end up paying way more than quoted, it will take way longer than expected, and you will end up with furniture & belongings not completely reassembled and/or damaged. I received an in-home estimate of $2605.00 to move my 3 bedroom ranch with basement a little over a mile away to a 2 story 4 bedroom home with basement. They estimated it would take 8 hours with 4 movers and 1 truck but advised it could take a little longer. This seemed reasonable as I've done half a dozen long distance moves in the last twenty years and its never taken longer than 3-4 hours to pack or unpack a truck for similar or larger houses. I should have known better though because with long distance moves, you pay by the weight of the belongings while Falcon Moving charges by the hour. Needless to say I was shocked when it took over 12 hours for them to complete the move, resulting in the cost of my move to be $3,627.36. Over $1000 more than the estimate! And not only did it take WAY longer than it should have and cost WAY more than it should have, the move itself was less than stellar. Everything was packed/taped/labeled in boxes and ready to go when they arrived so they can't blame the extra time on that. They spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to rearrange the truck to make everything fit into one trip (it didn't, so they had to make 2 trips anyways) but did I mention the new house was only 1 mile from the old house? Why waste all that time? They also seemed to have the hardest time figuring out how to take apart some of the furniture items (these were not new items - they've made several moves with me and past movers have never had an issue before). I used wardrobe boxes for my clothes (expensive boxes with bars inside so the clothes stay on the hangers) and these were all clearly marked as such - yet the movers turned a couple of them upside down during the move, leaving me with a heap of clothes in the bottom of the boxes instead of neatly hung clothes and in some cases additional boxes fell into the wardrobe boxes further damaging the clothes. Multiple boxes that were labeled as fragile and packed as such were very obviously damaged in the move and resulted in several glasses being broken. I had all the boxes properly labeled but more than a quarter of them ended up in a different spot than where they were labeled. And let's not forget that they did not tighten the bolts on my bed or my desk or put the legs back on my tv - what happened to returning disassembled furniture to its original state? The team of movers were all very nice/polite but it was obvious that they didn't really know what they were doing and they were definitely not in any rush to be done. Oh and if you are wondering why you haven't seen other negative reviews of Falcon Moving, you might be interested to know that when you make a claim for any damaged items and/or accept a credit from them, you have to sign a document in order to receive the money in which you agree not to do or say anything that could damage Falcon Moving's reputation including but not limited to negative reviews and negative social media posts. They offered me a $100 credit when I complained but I refused to sign the document. They can keep that $100 if it means someone else gets to read an honest review and avoid the moving headache that I got with Falcon Moving. read more

This moving company is better than most. However, there were a few things that were very unsatisfactory. For instance, I gave them specific directions, multiple times, and they were ignored, for instance: taping boxes that were open, keeping certain boxes together (it was only 3). They were reluctant to pack the few things I wanted packed...they didn't seem to know how to get it done. read more

We had a very local move last weekend, and hired falcon, finding they came in at the most reasonable price. Using them for our move was a terrible experience. For our move out, the moving crew arrived two hours late then the scheduled time, ended up finishing the move in the pitch dark. They were vulgar, loud, vaping in our driveway and shouting. Although they said they would need one truck, they ended up not planning/packing it well, and telling us we needed to move multiple items "personally". This included lawn mowers, patio furniture, all large items they knew they would be moving and needed to go on a truck. A few of these items they actually did not even tell us they couldn't fit, and just left for us to hopefully find and move on our own (in the backyard, in the dark). This was happening 10 hours before our home close sale and final walk through. On the move in, the same crew broke my sons crib, and gashed our wall. While I understand of course these things happen, the most disappointing part of all was the response from the owners re: the broken crib. They claimed they would send their "wood worker" out to fix the crib, as they didn't want to pay to replace it, which we accepted, but then have now been unresponsive when we asked to schedule for them to come out. All in all, they made the moving process incredibly more stressful for us. 11/17: I wanted to update this to say after posting this review last week we did hear from Jason again (owner) re: the wood worker coming out to look at fixing our sons crib. He did come out this weekend and was able to fix the furniture. This Wood worker they contract with was excellent and did a great job. Quality of Work: They did a great job. Very professional. Movers: Good guys came out to my move. I had a team of 2 with the truck. We moved to a storage facility and they made sure not to leave a big footprint in the loading area and condensed things near the truck. I really appreciated that. They know how to pack well and none of my things were damaged. Price: They are not cheap. I did not understand everything that went into their fees, like the travel fee plus the moving hourly fees. Truck: Godo truck, they packed it well and made use of the space. I definitely could have used a bigger one Insurance: Ask about their insurance beforehand. I'm glad nothing broke, but it seems inadequate if you are moving small and expensive things because it is based on weight. This may be common amongst movers though. I wish I was aware before moving day, but I didn't know to check. Overall they explained It clear and concisely on the day of my move. Overall: I would recommend them to someone with the caveats I mentioned above. They quoted me less than other movers, but I could have found a much cheaper solution. Overall my family and i are beyond satisified with the way Falcon Moving handle our move. With so many unintentional changes in our moving date and the need of temporary storage, Jason and his team went above and beyond to make sure our stuff are handled properly with a BIG "happy holidays" gift discount for the storage while we finalized our new move in date. Once that day comes, they showed up early and executed the work within the quoted timeframe. I cannot stress enough on how happy we are. Moves are stressful. Falcon made it 100 times more stressful than it needed to be. Our movers worked hard; we loved Andrew and Alex especially. I would recommend both of them in a second. However, it seems owner Jason cares more about working his movers to death by trying to squeeze too much work into one day rather than to give them realistic time to complete a move. They underestimated the time, which was no big deal and I understood the cost would increase....except the foreman chose to lie to Jason to cover himself saying we were impeding the movers' work (which was blatantly untrue; we were actually helping them by bringing boxes to the door so they could work faster). Jason got me on the phone to scold me and try to get me to schedule a second day to move (unneeded and undoubtedly to get double the pay). The foreman later explained he was being harassed by Jason consistently throughout the day to work faster and he needed to give a reason for the delay. So the result is to blame the customer? How about treating your employees as humans, not machines, and with respect? Items were damaged in the move as well and now I must submit a claim to be reimbursed for the damage; yay, more work. We asked for $100 off the price and we could call it even. Jason refused. Way overpriced for the hassle. Falcon made moving day difficult when having movers was supposed to be helpful. I would recommend going literally anywhere else for your move--there's a reason Falcon is always available for last minute jobs. Edit 8/6/21: you will see below that Falcon continues to not take accountability for their actions and continues to lie about what happened the day of the move. They finally agreed to refund us the $100, which is appreciated, but what we heard from the foreman about the way this company treats their employees is troubling. It was their foreman who told us they had multiple moves that day, causing the constant harassment, and that he is regularly berated by Jason and management. Clearly this is something the company needs to address internally instead of using the customer as an excuse. read more

I used the home advisor app to contact this business based on good reviews. Their representative was supposed to show up at 2 o'clock. I contacted the owner at 3 o'clock when his rep was late. The rep contacted me over an hour late. He did reschedule for two hours later. He was polite when he was here and apologized for forgetting his appointment. This was at 4 PM. It is now past 10 PM. I still have not received a quote. This is not the way to do business. I have used three service providers from this app. They have all been outstanding. These guys are awesome! Jason replied to my inquiry right away, and gave me a quote based on my inventory list. His initial estimate was very reasonable, and lower than most of the other moving companies I talked to. Joe and Derrick came out to move all of my heavy furniture, and I couldn't ask for a better experience. They were very professional, courteous, and most of all, very careful with all of my furniture, and my home. They wrapped everything in heavy duty furniture pads before moving it. About 3 weeks after Falcon so excellently accomplished my move, I called them again for help in rearranging some heavy pieces and assembling and placing some new chairs I had ordered. I contracted for two men for two hours. Jordan and Brendan were awesome. I gave them a prioritized list of things that needed to be done, and they went to work immediately. With not a moment wasted, they finished the priority items and one or two smaller items on my list in the two hours. My experiences with Falcon have been delightful. Austin is thorough and asks all the right questions in developing an estimate. Carlos follows through on the transaction to ensure that everything is accomplished as planned. downside: movers were 2 hours & 25 minutes late due to delays at their morning move, and i absolutely do not like their 4 hour 2 man minimum charge. 3 hours seems to be more reasonable since i was moving only my stuff out of another persons house. we were not moving the entire house. there should be an exception. upside: carlos and christian were a coupe of dynamos. they were very professional, courteous and friendly. they started working and did not stop till everything was moved. i was very impressed at how fast they got me moved. door to door in 2 hrs: 45 minutes including unloading which falls back to why i think they should lower the minimum to three hours. these gentlemen really knew what they were doing and deserve to get paid that extra hour that i was charged. thank you carlos and thank you christian. you boys did a great job. read more

BEWARE! WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER. Ripped and stained my brand new couch! Also damaged freshly painted walls, new door, door jamb, scratched the tile, stained carpet, scratched the tv stand and the piano. Didn't wrap furniture or mattresses, or use runners as requested. Didn't set up any of the beds properly--bolts falling out of children's bunk bed, the locking nuts went missing from king bed frame and they didn't install center support or secure any bolts, but put the mattresses on top so it collapsed. Employees were rude, vulgar, lazy, and disrespectful. read more

My move was a disaster from start to finish. And it didn't finish until 2 months after the move was completed. First they took 3 days to move my 2 bedroom townhouse .9 miles. Then they lost my stuff: hardware for bedroom mirror, a shelf for my armoire, some decorative things. Then my iPad went mysteriously missing- I don't use it much so I didn't realize it was missing until 2 months after. All in all, a complete disaster. I've never in my life encountered such incompetence. High school boys can do a better job. That so many things got broken and lost is unacceptable. Tape the hardware to the back of the mirror and wrap things up-they couldn't even manage the basics. Never again read more

Slow walked the whole move, left furniture behind because they couldn't get it out (we go it in and we're not even "professionals") broke furniture, and then charged 40% more than their estimate all for a small condo. Had to go back and move the left behind furniture out without them. The one kid was mouthy and had a horrible attitude. Pick literally any other company and you couldn't possibly do worse. read more

Horrible experience. I've moved a lot and this was unlike anything else. They estimated 4 hours with 3 guys. They showed up without masks and when asked to put them on, they refused. One of the guys was great, one was ok but had never done a move before, and the third was high as a kite and walking around with a chair on his head whistling. The job took them WAY longer than it should have, because there was only one experienced mover. They had to be told over and over again where to put things and they ended up having to move a lot of things twice because of their poor listening skills. At the end of the job they wanted to charge me $600 more than the estimate. The foreman called Jason who basically said too bad, this is what the new cost is. When I told him I would pay him the amount originally agreed upon only, he told his foreman to call the police on me. Jason was extremely unprofessional, didn't apologize once for the horrible move, and hung up without saying anything. He then "changed his mind" and decided not to call the police and accepted my payment. Terrible company and will never use them again. Back to two guys and a truck- much faster and much more knowledgeable. Zero stars. read more

They were the worst moving company I have ever encountered. They started at 9 am and could not coordinate what to do first or which of the four guys were to do what, when or where. During the move they broke a brand new chair I have had less than a month. They put a large whole in the bottom of the chair and also broke one of the legs so that it will not screw on properly. I had purchased a new bench for my new townhome. They did not wrap it and when it arrived at the new house the paint was all chipped off and the arm of the bench was broken and part of the top. They also took a huge chip out of my new kitchen table we had had one week. It had a marble top on it and they took a huge chip out of the marble on the side. It will continue to chip and eventually the new table will have to be replaced. My son has a $3,000 bedroom set. It has a marble top on the dresser and they dropped the dreser. It has two huge chunks of marble missing from the right hand side of the dresser both in front and back. They also ruined the wooden slat which closed the front doors on the dresser. Now the dresser will not close because there is no slat for it to grab onto. They also shattered the back of the dresser. It is useless. My son also had a nightstand that matched the dresser. They also dropped that and there is a chunck of the marbe missing that is as big as a silver dollar. They also scratched the bottom of the night stand and it it also ruined. They were to attach my mirror to my dresser. They hid the hardware and just set the mirror on my dresser. Now my dresser is scratched under where they put the huges mirror down on the dresser. They took forever to get us to our new place from 9 am to about 4:30 they packed the truck. When they got to our new place they said that in order to save me money they were going to put my 50 boxes in the garage. They stacked them on top of one another and many boxes smashed the boxes underneath it. They did not know how to put out beds together and were going to leave prior to doing this. They also stole our toolbox, items from my bedroom and a box of items that would be used in my sons bathroom. It included, brushes, soaps, and other items that they would use for grooming. We didn't realize until after they left all the chaos they left us in. They never placed my funiture where I wanted it to go in the living or dining room. They got invited to a party and were anxious to get out of here. I also wanted them to leave because they move was estimated at $l,300 and it was now $1,900. I was sick none of my drawers would open in my dresser the contents of each drawer was thrown all through the dresser and many of the thing were sitting at the bottom of the dresser under all the drawers. They ripped the sheets on my sons bed and didn't even mention it. I don't know if they stole any of my Christmas decorations and won't know until I go to put up my tree. I have never dealt with more inept movers. My son and I were helping them move things. They also banged into the walls non stop while attempting to get the furniture upstairs. The walls were full of blue from the blankets, their sweat and several holes. I had to pay to have the walls repainted. When I reported these things to the owner he could have cared less. They also took my sons blue ray player. The owner told me so what it wasn't like they took a box of Rolex watches. He didn't care what happened and feel no responsibility for the horrendous conditions we were put through. We had to move the 50 boxes left in our garage to the rooms that they were meant to be placed in. It took us hours and this move was a nightmare. I am writing this so that nobody ever has to go through anything like this again. The owner wants me to pay for this move and can't understand what was done wrong. I have had this same amount of furniture moved from Florida to Illinois. My sons dresser and nightstand were perfect. I have also moved the furniture from one apartment in Naperville to another. Not one thing broken or stolden. I especially appreciated that they broke everything that I had purchased for the new house. Things not even 1 month old but too bad it isn't their responsibility according to the owner. It was moved to the house. There are a lot of good and caring moving companies but this isn't one of them. Don't hire them unless you want to sit and cry over all the mess and broken furtniture they leave you with. Cardinal comes out to where you are moving from to access everything you need moved and give you a pretty accurate quote. I haven't seen a moving service do that. They were awesome. I was estimated at 5 hours and they finished in 3. I have used Cardinal 3 times in the past to move me. Would use them for the next move. They're professional, polite, and funny. Falcon is incredible -- especially if you can get Jay and Taylor. They are two top-notch professionals that pulled off an incredibly difficult and stressful move from a high-rise near Old Town to a South Loop loft building. They managed a very tight time window for freight elevator service on both ends, and handled a tricky alley parking situation in the S. Loop with a great attitude. These guys are super-strong work horses with great stamina and they are extremely savvy when it comes to wrapping and protecting your furniture. I can't recommend a better pair of movers! So let me start by saying that we had zero expectations going into this. They were the best priced and the communication up until the day of the move was perfect. The day of the move we had five very friendly guys arrive on time and worked to get two full truck loads of our belongings out of our house. They worked very hard and longer than anticipated on the previous quote. We were appreciative and gave them an additional cash tip that night seeing as how they would then have a five hour drive to our new home in a different state. The items weren't going to go into a house though, but a storage unit until our house was finished getting built. My husband had to drive up the next morning to meet them and saw only the tail end of the drop off of our belongings. This is where our experience completely changed from the better. Upon inspecting our belongings they took off the truck we realized they were literally throwing boxes-whether they were labeled fragile or not onto the ground. They were stacking boxes that were labeled fragile on top of other boxes that eventually toppled over because of the weight. My husbands safe was completely scratched and dented. There was absolutely no care or consideration taken into the transferring of our belongings from our old house to our storage unit. I have since found several boxes labeled fragile that are broken glass. I'm completely disheartened by the lack of care. To make matters worse, we have tried to reach out to Falcon moving several times with phone calls and emails and are yet to be met with a call back from a live person. I absolutely do not recommend this moving company unless you are planning on babysitting the movers from start to finish-not something we had planned for. read more

I can't begin to tell you how many things went right with this moving company. My original mover, had a terrible car accident and therefore had to cancel my move about three weeks before. Totally not their fault but anyway. I desperately look for another moving Service, who would be available on a Saturday in June - tough to find. Although cardinal was very busy, Bill. got back to me right away and said he would make it work. I had asked for two guys to come and help me pack up just the kitchen and dining room, however when they got there they realize that I was in the weeds. So Mark and Brendan helped pack almost my whole house efficiently and safely and we even had a little bit of fun. Super nice guys. The next morning on Saturday they even showed up a little early with a third man, Josh and they worked their butts off all day. They moved a five bedroom house plus kitchen appliances plus a crazy massive basketball hoop perfectly. They weren't just movers - they were real people I could lean on who gave advice and we're just wonderful. I highly highly recommend them for your move.
