Avoid any care from Olivia Lan Huong! She used to own an office that was shut down because of shady practices. She had her RDA brother perform a root canal! She pulled out wrong teeth! Insurance scam. Just run as fast as you can. A quick search of her name on dental board of California, revealed nothing. Found a few fictitious names she attempted to registered but those were canceled. So makes me wonder if she's practicing without a license?

This place have ruin my tooth#2. I came here for teeth cleaning next I was ask do a filling for my tooth when I feel it was fine. While cleaning my teeth the doctor kept pushing me to do my filling I figure I trusted them when I mention to them my teeth feel fine. Because of their careless mistake and trying to make money from my guardian dental insurance I have been in pain for 3 weeks. Now I have to do a root canal now my tooth is dead and no more feeling. Please don't go here I advise you. This practice is afther ur insurance than ur wellbeing. I have file the national board to the dentistry regarding this also.

Doctor Lan Huong is nice and pretty as her name. She has golden hands since she is very at working on little tiny teeth! My son got fillings done by her 4 times. She is such a talented doctor because she knows how to calm the kids and works very fast on each progress so they don't get upset and stressful during the procedure! My son was very happy after the fillings. He got used to go to her office so he didnt cry last time. Thank you for your patience and professional work. The staffs are very nice and helpful.

**This review is long, but 100% honest to my experience.** I used to be a patient of this husband and wife team for years. The practice is actually a family dentistry that also specializes in pediatrics and some cosmetic and simple surgical procedures. If you ever pick up local Vietnamese magazines, you may notice ads featuring glamour shots of some lady dressed up as the Tooth Fairy. Sometimes she holds a wand, sometimes they crop pictures of random children and place them at her feet. Often, she is in a puffy ballgown with a tiara in her hair. Yeah... that's Dr. Olivia. I kid you not. So, aside from the strange ads, what are my real qualms? 1) Their current office is a bit better than the old, but still looks creepy and unprofessional. Literally hundreds of plush daisies are tied up everywhere (you know, the stuffed animal kind you can buy at an Albertson's florist for $1.99... with the happy face centers). Last time I was there, the rooms are covered in weird florescent cartoon murals. It was like being on an acid trip, but not nearly as fun. 2) They cram patients in. It is not unheard of to be there for several hours, or to be rushed out. 3) Their methods are extremely dated. If you want a mouth full of ugly silver that will fall off, come here. Not only are their methods old, the docs here don't have much technique, nor do they seem to care to. Once, I was told that I had to have 2 teeth removed. Just before letting me get up, Dr. Olivia said she was going to yank out a third one. Then she and two assistants hovered over me, held me down, and proceeded to yank out the third tooth. WELL, SHE BROKE THAT TOOTH INTO PIECES AND HAD TO KEEP GOING BACK AND DIGGING PARTS OF IT OUT! I remember being so scared and looking to my mom in the doorway. She was cringing because there was blood everywhere and you could hear my teeth cracking under all that force. I was about 14 or 15 at that time. It was awful. And it wasn't the only time she broke teeth while pulling them out of me. 4) They are not above over-diagnosing you on purpose, particularly Dr. Hung An. Vietnamese immigrants who feel limited on options often think that they are getting deals because offices like this claim to "work the system in their favor." In reality, they may subject you to treatments you don't need in order to cash in on insurance, consequently doing serious damage to your mouth and jaw. I was told by Dr. Olivia and Dr. Hung An that I ABSOLUTELY had to have surgery to take out wisdom teeth at 14. This was strange because I didn't feel anything growing, and I was still pretty young. They called in an oral surgeon friend of theirs who was personable enough, but who kept me awake during the whole procedure. It was really terrifying to watch someone go into my mouth with a scalpel just to "cut a little bit and see if it was really numb." Years later, when I was 22, I began feeling a lot of discomfort in my mouth. My current dentist was the one to tell me that I had 4 wisdom teeth growing in. We still don't know what on earth that former procedure was for. 5) They are not honest with you about your dental health. Approach #1 is to completely ignore you when you are sitting there, concerned and asking. They will literally just shush you, whisper to each other, and pretend they don't hear you. Dr. Olivia will sometimes use a sing-song voice and tell you half-truths, even if you are college age. Approach #2 is to flat-out suggest that your situation is worse than it is. Her husband really seems to fancy that. 6) Avoid Dr. Hung An if you can. He is aggressive and seems to have anger issues. My cousin and I used to call him "the masochist." He will snap at you to be quiet if you try to speak up and annoy him during your treatment. And once he gives you a cleaning, your whole mouth will be in pain for at least several days. Hate to spill the beans, but someone's got to do it. Maybe this is what happens when people feel pressured to become doctors?

Cute umbrella gift for the kid's birthday .

He is very personable and does his best to ensure the patient's comfort, and is also willing to share knowledge and take his time to explain the procedures when asked. There is also no wait time -- your appointment time is when they are ready for you. I had a tooth extracted, one of my bottom incisors, and he confirmed wit me multiple times to make sure I was aware of the results (having only three incisors would remove my bottom midline entirely); not because he doubted me, but because he wanted to make sure I would remain satisfied with my smile in the future after the extraction, and so I could make the most informed decision. I was glad to have been able to make an appointment within the week and didn't have to wait in the waiting room long. The dental hygienist got to taking x-rays right away and did a good job about not pinching my gums or cheeks too much during the process, which I know sometimes is a struggle. When Dr. Chris came in, there wasn't any niceties exchanged, barely an introduction. It felt very short, abrupt, straight to the point, and not conversational. I've always liked going to the dentist and felt comfortable at the dentist, but I can imagine for someone who doesn't like the dentist that this interaction would not have put them at ease or made to feel welcomed. I was told I had cavities and they were able to take care of them right away. Convenient for me not to have to come back another time, so that was great! What really threw me off was that during the process, Dr. Chris just announced out loud, "Time for a break!" And dropped everything and left the room with the hygienist. I was so confused and baffled. How could they take a break in the middle of filling my cavity?? I was stressing because I wasn't sure if he hurt himself and needed to go take care of it, if he went on a lunch break, or if something else was going on. I was left in the dark, figuratively. It felt like awhile before another hygienist came in looking for supplies when she asked if I was doing okay. I said I was fine and asked if everyone else was okay. She said that Dr. Chris needed to tend to an emergency with another patient momentarily. I felt a little better after knowing that. When he came back, I thought he would at least address his absence with something like, "I'm sorry for the interruption. I had to attend to an emergency." Or a, "Thank you for waiting." But instead, I got, "Okay let's keep going." As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of transparency and helping manage expectation to help put patients at ease. A simple, "I will be back in a few minutes. I need to go help another patient" wouldn't have left me stressed out about what was happening and when/if he was coming back. We ended up getting interrupted again but this time I heard the other hygienist say, "I'm so sorry but I need you again." Dr. Chris said, "I'll be right there." And he left the dental saliva ejector mouthpiece in my mouth when he stepped out. I think he thought he'd be back right away so he didn't take it out but it ended up staying in my mouth so long I was so dried out and uncomfortable. I was tempted to remove it myself and honestly probably should have, but I kept thinking he'd be back any moment. Finally, he came back, again with no apology for stepping out. He finished up quickly and I was out. My mouth and tongue were still numb so it wasn't until the next day where I felt the grooves of the filling and I wanted it smoothed out. I called the office and they were able to get me in that same day. I was taken care of by hygienist Lynne and she was fabulous!! She was approachable, conversational, answered my questions, and checked up on how I was doing often. She helped me smooth out the rough edges of the filling so that it felt more seamless. She thanked me for coming in and told me to request her the next time I was in. I'm giving this dental office a 4/5 because of the timeliness of the appointments, the attentive hygienists, the cleanliness, and the good final product of my fillings. My major critique is just the bedside manner from Dr. Chris and the process of getting my filling. I'm hopeful and willing to give it the benefit of the doubt that it was just one bad fluke of a day. It wasn't bad enough for me to be turned away. I guess I'll see again at my 6 month appointment.

I found dentist Tammy Tran in Foutain Valley dental care. from the positive reviews on Google, I was hoping I could finally find a dentist who would be able to help with my tooth. unfortunately, this will be my first and last time visiting this place. I spoke on the phone with them to explain my situation and they told me that the doctor can fix my crown at the price of $150. I decided to make an appointment to see the doctor. When I came to the office, I had already spoken with doctor Tammy on the phone. After they looked at my tooth without taking any pictures or X-rays, the doctor told me my tooth was broken. I told her I didn't feel pain nor was it bleeding. I believe my front tooth chipped off because of the tooth glue. She told me she will apply the tooth glue for awhile, and told me my crown was too thick which was why my tooth broke when I chewed on the seed. I told her my tooth was shaking and loose because I ate watermelon seeds. The doctor wanted to grind my porcelain tooth because there was apparently no problem with my tooth, just chipped glue. i didn't agree with her because the main reason i came to her office was for her to glue my tooth and make it stronger if she can. After spending less than 15 minutes with me to charge me, i was charged $150, yet my crown still the same and nothing was fixed. The only thing I received from doctor Tammy was making my tooth feel more hurt. As a doctor, she should explain the procedures clearly to the patient before doing it. otherwise if the doctor cannot do anything to help with the issue, the patient shouldn't be charged. the dentist told me my teeth was broken but still attempted to fix it without actually helping me. Why just "fix" my teeth a little bit and then charging $150 in cash only to leave my tooth to hurt even more and still shaky as before? i looked at the receipt they charged me and I didn't know about evacuation, Pat paid, Adj, and Pat port. the only thing I know that I agree to paid $150 for was to fix my crown but the doctor didn't finish or fix it. I hope my review can be read by the dentist and other patients will be treated better in the future
