This place is the bomb.com!!!! I've been going here for about a year and a half with my boyfriend. They are always kind and listen to what I want. I have constantly forget to ask for the name of my masseuse. This time I remembered. Her name was Nina and she was AMAZING. Although she was a little rough it really paid off in the end. I am not one to make moaning or grunting noises but she definitely got a grunt out of me. She really worked out my knots in my shoulder and I am so grateful!! I read the comments saying "that kept asking for a tip" or "they made faces at my tip" but my boyfriend and I have NEVER experienced this. They do stand around after to get the tip but they never make a face and one time I didnt have enough for a good tip and i apologized and they were told me "it's okay" and "no problem". We are also only 18. Their prices are also AMAZING. We usually get a 30 min foot massage and a 60 minute body massage for 60$ each!!!!! WHATTTT. And when we dont need a foot massage then we get the 60 minute body massage and it costs us 45$ each! But please NOTE that these are cash prices. I think it might be 5$ or 10$ more for card. I mean I am a broke college student and I can afford them every 4 months or so. Personally I do not like having a Male masseuse. It just makes me feel uncomfortable. So we always ask for two women. They also have smaller hands so they really can pin point one spot, so that feels really nice. Over all please at least try this place out. They are nice and give great massages. First time trying this place out from a recommendation from a neighbor. I usually go to a place in pleasant hill that does 60 minute foot massages for $25, but this place is way closer and for $35, I figured it was still cheap, so I decided to try it out. The foot massage was great, but that's all it was, basically foot to knee for one hour. Every other place I've gone too (in LA and Bay Area) also includes the rest of body, head, arms, neck and back. So, I was disappointed. They do have a foot massage body combo for $50, which is probably more of what I expected, but for that I could get 2 massages at my other place. AWKWARD!! I'm not one for bad reviews as I am in customer service, but this was absolutely terrible. I really hoped to love this place as it has good pricing (cash) and late hours. My gf scheduled an hour couples massage ($40 for cash or $43 for credit card.) They took us in to a decent room immediately upon arrival which was nice. There was no waiver to sign or any questions about what we were looking for. The first 15 minutes were pretty bad as it was just a light pat down under a sheet. There was no music to enjoy so all we could hear was one of the ladies sniffling the entire time and the beds creaking badly. After 50 minutes of a pretty bad oily rub down the ladies left and did not return for at least 5 minutes without saying a word. My gf and I after waiting just assumed it was over and proceeded to put our clothes back on. They finally came back in as my gf was half naked and they laughed saying "o no, no done yet. Is you first time?" It was really weird. We decided to tip $10 as we were not very impressed just out of courtesy. The man at the front desk quickly took our cash and said "only $5 dollars? with a really nasty face and the ladies laughed. It was one of the most awkward things ever. No. Just no. I lived overseas for a few years and had excellent massages. I also had bad ones, but event hose bad ones were WAY BETTER than the one I had here. The atmosphere is decent, and the place is clean, but no. I do NOT recommend this joint! I came here for my birthday because it's close to home and I thought I'd give it a try. I have a very stressful job and wanted to relax for a day. I got even more stressed. The woman who massaged me did an awful job. Rubbing up and down is NOT a massage; I could have paid anyone to do that. She refused to use my lavender massage oil (after telling me it was fine) because it was "too strong". What did she want to use instead? Tiger balm! The scent is not strong at all and is relaxing. Tiger Balm's worse, so what the hell? After me agreeing to use her oil (which is cetaphil lotion), she gave me an attitude. She did a horrible job on the reflexology and foot massage. I couldn't relax at all because of her bad aura. I have two eyebrow piercings and it's common sense to avoid the area when doing a facial massage, but she rubbed away and they bled. Did I try to communicate with her? Yes. And there wasn't such a huge language barrier that she couldn't understand me. She was just negative. I regret blowing 60 bucks here. I should have gone to Pleasant Hill. But noooo I just had to try this place out. Did I tip? Hell no. And I'm a nice person who always tips, but she did that bad. Of course she got angry and cussed me out in her language. If it was up to me I would have only paid 5 bucks. Are the other massage people better? Probably. But I'm not coming back to this joint. If you're considering coming here, BEWARE. I went here on a whim after working so many 10+ hour days. Since I was in the mood to spoil myself, I got the foot reflexology & body massage combo for 60 minutes each -- all for $60 CASH!! Like holy cheeseballs, what a steal! So the receptionist (male) takes me into a private room with a massage table & a huge comfy chair for the foot reflexology. I'm pleasantly surprised because in most foot reflexology places, the foot massage part is communal & then if you wanted a full body massage after, you'd have to get up & go down a hall. Nope, not here! Foot reflexology: I had a female (didn't catch her name). She had the right amount of pressure, & even though I wanted it firmer, I was too relaxed to say anything. Needless to say, I dosed off & woke up to her gentle voice asking me to remove my clothes for the body massage. When I stood up, the aching in my legs are gone!!!! Body massage: oh my. I was somewhat relaxed, but she was working my knots like no tomorrow! In a good way though. My back & shoulders felt more loose after that session. Overall, I had a very nice body massage here, and I would probably return again :) But I don't call myself a skeptic for nothing: I called to see if I needed to make an appt. The man who answered said yes. So I made an appt. But he didn't ask me for my name or number.... Hmm... interesting. But since I wasn't looking for a specific masseuse, it wasn't a big deal. I just wanted to call ahead and make sure I didn't have a long wait. And they did promptly show to me to the room when I arrived and said I had an appt. Ok, cheeeeesy Chinese music! Instrumental versions of 90s Chinese pop music - in traditional Chinese instruments.... not my kind of massage music. Just sayin'. The massage I paid for was "Full Body Oil Massage". That was a misnomer! As much was I enjoyed the massage, they did not use a drop of oil. Pumps of lotion, Aveeno or not (I saw a bottle of Aveeno in the room, another bottle unlabelled), do not equal massage oil! Thank you! And even with lotion, I think my masseuse should've started using it much sooner. She initially spent a lot of time massaging my back with a sheet over me. First couple of minutes was fine. Then it became a bit painful :( Even though no massage oil, when she started using the lotion, the massage became much more smooth and enjoyable. The whole thing made me wonder if they purposely don't spend too much time on the feet, so they can try to sell that to you separately. No big loss for me in that regard. I have my hubs for that ;) At the risk of sounding totally germophobic, I must point out that the masseuse did my feet before my head............. And they needed to cover the headrest better cuz my lips kept on touching the uncovered part O_o What you also need to know, is that while they say they accept credit card, there's an extra charge. The prices you see on their website are cash prices. For a $40 massage, you'd pay $43 if you use your credit card. And for a $60 massage, they'd charge $65 on credit card! Good thing I'd anticipated something like that and grabbed some extra cash with me! BTW, if you are headed there from Treat eastbound, try not to miss the entrance for Treat Plaza. Why is this FIVE STARS? The prices are unbeatable! Jenny, who I have had twice is AMAZING! Very good deep tissue and massages every muscle of my neck and back I could ever ask for. I have had an hour and a half massage twice here for $60. That would be about $180 in a nice SF hotel Spa. I'd have to say the massage you get at Family Spa is BETTER! I also like the cleanliness, the front desk, did I say the prices? and the professionalism. I've been to four other "Cheap" massage places and this one if by far the best! The people here are very friendly and always have walk in accommodations, even if they're super busy.. They will skip their lunches to fill time slots.. Woke up with sore shoulders and a tight back, decided to call this place and I am happy I did. I received a 90 Minute Deep Tissue Massage for $55!!! I used a coupon I found on their website, called at 12:08pm and had a massage scheduled for 12:30pm! My masseuse was a male, with the perfect amount of pressure and stretches that helped me tremendously. I appreciated the focus on my head, neck, shoulders and back. Absolutely love the place. I am a regular. I have gotten fantastic deep tissue massage from Flora and Kim. I highly recommend them and agree with another reviewer - I hope they stay in business. They offer a variety of spa services. I'm only interested in the deep tissue massage. I have been going to spas in different parts of the country for about five years now - Family Spa is the best and the price cannot be beat. The language barrier took some getting used to but I figured it out. Yes, as with any service, TIPPING IS ONLY POLITE. I have no idea if you leave it on the table - I put in the masseuse's hand when they return with water and thank them in person. It is also a courtesy to tell the front desk how you liked your spa treatment. I didn't understand that at first either. Give yourself a treat - Go! This was the best foot massage I've ever had!!! It felt soooo amazing. Not sure who I had, but he really did a great job. This was an actual foot reflexology massage, rather than just rubbing my feet which has been my experience at other places. I really can't express how much this was the best! I'm 8 months pregnant and was in desperate need of a legit foot massage. I went to Family Spa today for a 30 minute foot massage (it's the closest to my house so had been wanting to try it). I had to keep asking the lady to massage harder b/c I actually needed relief (not just lotion rubbed on my feet), then she stopped massaging me after 20 minutes of massage! I had looked when she started massaging so I knew how long it had been. I asked her if it was over b/c I had already pre-paid for a 30 minute massage and she said it was. She rubbed the lotion off with a warm towel and wasted a few more minutes (b/c I had said something) and ended up stopping 5 minutes early when it was all said and done. read more

Leo & Peter were our massage therapists and we both agree that this was the best massage we have ever had!!! This was my first time going. But it won't be my last. The staff is very friendly and didn't make us wait. Very relaxing. I'm not new to foot reflexology massages and they did a great job. The only thing I would recommend is turning up the music and making it darker. Pleasantly surprised! Family Spa is an Asian massage parlor in a not-so-nice strip mall in Vallejo. While the outside atmosphere is dingy, the inside is a pleasant oasis from the frenetic street. The Experience: -Gentleman at the front desk let us in through the auto-locking front door. -We were walked straight back to our couples massage room passed two or three other deep tissue massage rooms and one pleasant looking room with leather recliners. -Once in the room we were instructed to place our clothes on a corner bench and lay face-down on the tables, to begin our massage. -Two women entered the room, greeted us with a hello, and began massaging in earnest. -At the end of the massage we were told "finished," and the women left. -Once we'd redressed and returned to the front our Masseuses thanked us and gave us cups of cold water. -We paid, we left. The Good: -VERY FIRM PRESSURE -Solid 60 minutes of treatment for our one hour massages -Prices are aggressively low ($40/hour) for a full body, deep tissue, hot-cloth, pleasant ambiance experience. -Never felt rushed or unsafe The Bad: -Strange techniques... including pressing hard on the sutures on my cranium, scratching my head and massaging my scalp, thumping on my heels and palms, rubbing my ears (though I have to admit I loved the ear rubs). -The massage tables were good for portable treatment, but I hope and imagine they have more permanent fixtures in the other rooms. The two they'd set up for our couples massage squeaked a bit. -Less than 10 words in English were spoken or understood. A bit more language would allow for a greater understanding. Interestingly (or not), cleansed quite significantly the next day (and this has never been an issue for me), so if you tend to get "backed up", reflexology may help. Cheap prices for cheap services. I average 2 massages per month so when I moved to the area, I tried this place since it's around the corner. Seriously grossed me out. The lady probably had decent skills but no power left in her overworked hands. Also, she was sick and had no business touching anyone. Went in without an appointment. Didn't mind waiting 20 minutes. Lady at the desk said she would take care of me and later came in and asked if I was ok with a guy helping me for quicker service. No problem, I was there for shoulder pain. No matter what I said or how I squirmed on the table, that guy did not ease up. I know English was not his strong point, but saying ow and kicking my legs all over the table was not the universal language to this guy. I got up and stopped the massage. He was either a complete idiot or liked hurting people. This place needs to be reviewed by the state board. There is no way that guy was certified to work as a massage therapist in this country. This place is amazing! $40 for a 60 minute full body oil massage. I always call to make sure they have an appt available and they almost always do. Today I had Shelly who have me the best massage I've ever had. She was extremely firm and attentive and made sure to ask multiple times how I was doing. I've been having jaw soreness from grinding my teeth when I sleep and she paid extra attention to helping relieve almost all of the tension! Just tried out Family spa today for the first time. They sent a coupon to the neighborhood for an hour massage for $35. They are close, so I figured I'd try them out. I got there a little early and the man at the front desk said we can get you in early. Place was very clean, and well set up. I read somewhere Michelle was good so I asked for her, wow was that an understatement, she is great! I like a hard deep, tissue massage after a back surgery and 3 shoulder surgeries. I went there with lower back pain, and gave her a heads up. She is very well trained and went right to work on it. She is so intuitive and found all the pain points in no time.
