Well I didn't expect anything less when I was shopping around and found this place within this price range. Staff was very friendly. $50/ 1 hour full body massage if paying cash and they fit me in right away. Karen worked on me and asked where I'd like to focus before she started; she had medium to firm pressure but made sure it was okay for me. I went in for a painful knot and she worked on it pretty good and definitely helped relieve the pressure and even cracked my back a bit which I needed. The massage felt like it was an hour long which I appreciated but at the time they did have loud clients that weren't asked to whisper and the masseuse excused herself for a half minute then again to get hot towels which all together interferes with the relaxing part of it. They warm up with massaging over sheet then move to lotion/oil and ended with hot towels. The ambiance was normal with soft classical music playing. Massage included head and face (with mask on) Overall experience: I had pain and the visit accomplished what I came in for but wouldn't recommended for "relaxing" or zen experience. My husband & I called in for a last minute visit. Haven't tried any massage places in the area, but we were DEFINITELY due for a massage. $50/hour is not too bad either. They were very aware in following Covid protocols and it looked pretty clean. We were asked to sanitize our hands before being lead to our rooms. Each of us had a separate room. Maybe also protocol? Not complaining. Tom (Minh?) did my massage and it was better than I was expecting. Didn't even ask me how strong I wanted my massage. He was pretty strong, which was fine by me. (My husband said his masseuse was also strong, and he told her he wanted medium strength.) But I know some aren't okay with that, so I suggest you let them know if you don't like the extra strength Anyway, the massage was great! He somehow knew exactly where my problem spots are and focused on them. I never had to say anything. I definitely had to remind myself to breathe through the pain. But mind you, I haven't had a massage in a long time, I have sciatica, pain in my scapulas, and pain in my trap area. BEWARE: this place is very Unprofessional. HORROR if i may. Ive been to many massage places and I often get a full body massage, if not a foot and back combo. Very satisfying even falls asleep. Very awkward but that just meant it was worth it and they did their job. Wishes the 60 minute massage never ends. However. This place is horror. I couldn't wait for it to end. Never felt humiliated. Masseuse. Told me its better when my underwear is off so she doesn't have to move it around. I said no, id rather keep my underwear thank you. Then she had me exposed the entire time, bu** naked. Compared to other places that only exposes body part that is being rubbed then cover after. Then someone walked in twice, with no knocks, also still exposed. And i feel like she is rubbing on the wrong places while I was face down. I felt violated. I don't think she knew what she was doing, going back and forth from one spot to another then back. (Neck then leg, then back to my Neck.) its like she's just milking the time. After rubbing my foot, then she goes massaging my Face. Wtf My relief when it ended, I left the room feeling very sticky from all the Oil used, almost dripping in between my legs and back. Before leaving, It still felt wrong NOT to tip. I have been to Family Spa a few times and finally decided to give back with a review. Lucy has been my go to therapist, but was not available yesterday. Cindy provided an amazing experience. Cindy started by asking if I had any problem areas or prior injuries. A nice touch. I had a knot in my right shoulder, so I asked for a deep tissue to work it out. Her technique was highly therapeutic, while relaxing. I actually fell asleep for 15 minutes completely lost in relaxation. Family Spa is a chill place, with great Zen like vibe. They were very rude to me and my friend. They were too hard in massage where it hurt you and instead of asking us if they should go a bit softer. Kept telling us to relax in a mean way. We were to awkward to say anything. Didn't really know what to say after that. And at the end demanded that you tip them. We were shocked that they asked soo bluntly. We shouldn't have but they put us in an awkward position saying how much you gonna tip. They should just have a tip jar in the rooms so you can tip if you would like but not just ask for it. I tipped 10 dollars, I'm not familiar with the massage tip scale but I thought 10 was fair especially since I hadn't even had the massage first!
