My wife and I were big fans of this Family Vision Source until the multiple problems we've experience in the past 18 months. Problems such as the office manager horribly adjusting my glasses to saying my wife's glasses were ready despite having a scratch on them (three trips to get them right). The dates when glasses and contacts were to come in were often wrong, and when we called to check on the status, we got attitude. When trying to make an appt with Dr Amy Fuhr-DeChant, my wife was instead placed with Dr Martin who recommended a horrible choice of contacts. The turnaround time was awful and they charged a fitting fee. If she just stayed with what was working, it would have saved a lot of time, hassle, and money. Over the years, the number of add-ons has increased. I hope they can stop the decline. In the meantime, we will be going elsewhere. read more

After 6 months of searching for a good optometrist, I found Dr. Curtis DeChamp at Family vision by triangulation. He was in the top three on several different rating lists so I tried him at Family Vision Source. He's careful and methodical, and he got the prescription right on the first try. I had already wasted hundreds of dollars on "bad" prescriptions that gave me a headache, at other doctors who couldn't seem to get it right. Family Vision has the latest technology, e.g., for retinal scanning, which does make a difference. On the down side, the staff is disorganized and the lab turnaround is slow, but that is the general state of medical care everywhere these days. Family Vision is not the cheapest place in town, but if you're patient and persistent, you can get an excellent result. That's what I wanted and that's what I got. read more

They have the latest technology, which means no annoying eye dilation or numbing, and the care is top notch from both the office staff and the doctors. i tried a couple optometrists in tucson before i decided to settle at family vision source. the office is very efficiently run and the personnel have always been polite, prompt and business-like. the technology they employ is quite up to date and i very much appreciate the fact that they stay open until 7pm on tuesdays and open earlier than usual on wednesdays--this is SUCH a help for people who work! i'm very picky about my glasses as they are a necessity for me, and not an accessory...with my prescription i can only afford one pair at a time and i want to make sure it looks, feels, performs and endures as well as it can. i found the lens/coating quality here to be superb (compared to my last set of lenses from costco). the majority of the frames they carry run on the $$$ end (fendi, coach, morel brands), but they warranty their products and i was very pleasantly surprised by the speed in which they can order replacement lenses for your glasses if anything should happen to them. highly recommended. the only detraction may be that it's not the most economical choice if you're on a glasses budget. me, i only get a pair every few years and wear the heck outta them, so i'm very willing to pay for what suits me--and for their great service. read more

Wow! This place is awesome! Dr. Horst was so professional and nice and took his time answering all of my questions. Anita helped me pick out my glasses - she was SO nice. I took an incredibly long time trying to decide what I wanted and she stayed late, WAY after closing to help me. She was so sweet, she didn't even tell me they had been closed for 30 minutes. While the Doctors were all booked, they were able to squeeze in an emergency check in after I got hit in the eye with a nerf dart. I was concerned and after a day of continuous but light pain, I decided to be seen and I was very glad I did. The Doctor discussed what to expect, prescribed medication, and gave me their cell number in case of sudden vision changes even though they were going out of town. I felt secure in the treatment and was able to rest assure that I would heal fine, as scary as the situation was. Very glad to have been a patient at this office to be helped through this incident! The office staff is very capable, caring and pleasant, which is sadly lacking in service especially in medical practices these days.
