This was our second time visiting this Apple Valley Famous Dave's BBQ. The last time we were here a few months ago we were went a very large group of friends. The staff was great and the food was delicious for both visits. The Lunch Menu has great deals on a wide range of options. My husband and I both got the 3-meat platter - it was a good amount of food. Dave's has gone downhill fast.... Extra dollar upcharge on most meats now, shown on the menu with small print. Refrigerated bbq sauce with cold pork , tiny brisket servings now just a small handful of meat on a thin slice of sandwich bread.... Remember when it used to be a heap of brisket on a big thick cut slice of bread? And evrything but the beans and the corn were served cold over three different trays of food. It just isn't worth the price anymore. I expect this store to be closed in a year if they keep serving these cold and anemic meals. read more

Randomly wanted some famous Dave and it was close by so we decided to get some. Not sure if the layout has changed but it is a self serve restaurant now. You order first at the counter, then grab a number and take a seat. They are also partnering with baker's square for their famous pies! We came during happy hour and lunch special time (11-4). Both menus are very affordable! Happy hour ranges from $4-6 and includes selected appetizers, some sandwiches, burgers, ribs tips. The lunch menu comes with burgers and sandwiches with a side and around $10. Since both menus had a large selection we did not even look at the main menu (which also had pretty good pricing). Fried pickles- probably aside from state fair fried pickles, this is one of my favorite here. The secret sauce went well with the pickles. It was fried perfectly and crunchy. I believe $4 is definitely worth it. Corn bread is a must for famous Dave's. Comes as 1 count for 2.50 or 6 for $8 so of course we got 6! Pulled chicken from happy hour menu is $5 but size is regular size. Pretty big! Def worth the price. I got the lunch menu chicken sandwich with fries and was a little disappointed. Chicken patty was not fried crispy (not sure if it was supposed to). It came with the secret sauce but no other toppings so was a little bland besides the sauce. We also got rib tips (6 pieces) and another meat I cannot remember from the happy hour menu. This place is back on my go to when I crave meat and corn bread. Definitely worth the money and portion. First time walking in and the place was super clean. They greeted me right away and when I told her I was looking to order a large group order and the person helped me make the best decisions. Then I placed an order for lunch and she made excellent recommendations and pointed out the $10 or less lunch menu and was able to answer questions and give details of items I had questions about. I like Famous Dave's, I usually don't mind these order at the counter locations especially when going with multiple people - it's just easier to order and pay. Sometimes this location kind of backs up with the ordering process though. Not sure what would help the process go smoother. I even order take out from here from time to time and have to wait a bit for my order. I almost always get the same thing, the pulled chicken sandwich with fries. It's always usually good. It almost always needs more BBQ sauce though. Sometimes it comes with pickles, sometimes it doesn't. I love the spicy sweet pickles though. The restaurant is usually decently clean & the staff are almost always nice and come check on you during the meal. Overall I enjoy eating here. read more

We went to this apple valley famous Dave's and it was amazing! Great ribs and chicken sandwich. Smokey grill amazing flavor Went back a month later and it was a big let down. Ribs were undercooked not as meaty. Not as smoky or grilled. Same for the chicken sandwich. We got jalapeno Mac n cheese as the side instead of usual fries and that was a big mistake. I had a $50 gift card i received for Christma, so I took my wife there. I got the pick 3, she got the pick 1. i ordered the beef brisket, barbecue chicken, and the spareribs. I got famous fries and broccoil for my 2 sides. They gave me only one piece of barbecue chicken, 3 very thinly sliced pieces of beef brisket, and only 2 spare ribs. My wife got the spare ribs and they gave her hella more food than I ever got! my wife doesn't eat much, so she gave me whatever she couldn't eat. Hands down the worst ripoff in history! The place was barren on a Friday night. No wonder! Highly not recommende, for $50 I could have went to a buffet and actually got service from a waiter/waitress! or even perkins! read more

We did an order & pickup to take home for the hungry family. We did the bbq family feast & the Cajun shrimp boil. Can't complain about the Feast: nicely bbq'd meats. The Cajun shrimp boil was a little disappointing, slightly watery and not very spicy (it is advertised as Cajun). The shrimp tasted like they came from frozen (not very fresh). There could have been a fight over the few shrimp in the dish IF they would have been fresher. On the happy side, Famous Dave's now offers whole Bakers Square pies! read more

I used to like their catfish strips dipped in their sweet and sour sauce and/or remoulade. This is no longer on the menu. They have $5 specials, but you need to buy an overpriced beverage. I see no reason to ever come back. read more

Surprised by the bad reviews! We have always had a great experience whether dining in or placing an order for pick up. When you don't want to make dinner, let Famous Dave's make it for you! Tonight we ordered the feast for two with the BBQ beef brisket (you could choose Georgia chopped pork as an alternative if you'd like). It comes with SO MUCH FOOD! Definitely will have leftovers for days. It says for two but this could easily feed four for sure. Everything was fresh and hot, perfectly saucy, and crispy fries... 10/10! Figured we would finish off our day strong with something sweet, so we ordered a pie too! Famous Dave's has partnered with Bakers Square to offer fresh baked whole pies and slices. We went with their French Silk pie and wholy moly -- so good!! We placed our order in the app, super convenient and easy to use. We've been ordering food for pickup from the AV Famous Dave's for the last few months. The food has always been fresh and cooked properly and our orders have always been correct whether we order online or by phone. The staff is always very courteous from the order fillers to the cashiers. We enjoy the wing specials and the feast for two regularly. Love famous fries too. With the stay at home order in effect we have been going out of our way to order take out from various restaurants in the area to try and do our part. Today Famous Dave's was the choice and boy did it not disappoint. As Famous Dave's is a chain restaurant and standards are generally lower than normal, I can safely say we always have a good meal when we eat here. We ordered on their website (which was insanely easy to use by the way) and received our delivery from Door Dash (which can be hit and miss but today was a hit). We ordered two pick two combos and literally everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly and hit the spot for that backyard bbq craving we had! I don't consider Famous Dave's fast food but going today around the hind end of lunch hour and it is so sssslllooowww. We have been waiting for almost 20 minutes with a hungry child and things aren't looking good... But then the food comes and all of the annoyances of waiting passes away. All of our food was delicious. I'm not sure if it was just because we were famished but after eating there today it reminds me why we used to go to Famous Dave's all the time. We have just been in a funk not living close to one for awhile but now we will start trekking back. The rib tips are amazing, the best I have ever had. They are meaty and tender not like Applebee's or some other place where they are tough and charred. Also the cornbread, basically bread crack. Yum. read more

This place used to be great, unfortunately now the restaurant is only a name. The food subpar at best now days. Back 10 years ago you could order the half chicken meal and not be disappointed as it was a half chicken that was cooked to perfection. Now they serve frozen chicken quarters that you can buy from costco for 8 dollars a bag and overcook them. Guessing this was some sort of company wide cost reduction effort to keep the chain alive. unfortunately this just shows how out of touch corporate chains are. Famous Dave's used to be solid barbeque when Dave was running the business. He sold it and it failed miserably, so they brought him back to help. Once again it was good again, and now he left again and it is getting worse everytime I go. They only have 3 sauces now, instead of the 6 they used to carry. I was looking for a drink without sugar, well there are 3, water, unsweetened iced tea, or diet Pepsi (which I despise). So I asked for a non sugar sweetener for the ice tea, which they don't have. The brisket was dry, and the ribs were far from exceptional. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Ordered through the website for pickup, the registers for pickup are right by the registers for dine-in to pay and no clear cut direction in where to go or who does pickup, the small waiting area is cramped so it is impossible to socially distance from people sitting in the waiting area, people paying, and people waiting for their pickup orders. One big complaint I have is the lack of ability to specify requests beyond maybe a couple words on famous Dave's website. So I put in a request for some of the spicier bbq sauces to be included thinking they'd come on the side like they do when you door dash it, well they added it on top the meat and my kids weren't able to eat a couple of the things I had planned on feeding them for a couple meals. They did give me some credit for next visit but during the call to the manager they tried to place the blame on one of the food delivery services, when the fault really is with their bad online ordering system. I don't blame the staff at all, but they really should push for their site to allow a lot more room to be able to specify any requests. I wanted to order directly through their site so the money goes straight to them, the food isn't up charged as it is through door dash, no delivery and service fees so then I could leave a much larger tip with the savings not going through DD. But their system is terrible, I was advised to call them to communicate any requests with online orders, which is fine but it's also a lot easier to just order through door dash. So the 3 stars here is less of a reflection of the location itself but it's terrible online ordering set up. We like the family meal bundles and hopefully next time we order it will go a little better. read more

If this is the quality of food they sell here, they should rename the place Infamous Dave's. We ordered a Family Feast for 2-3, which came with BBQ chicken, brisket, ribs, and a number of sides. We also ordered the Burnt Ends app. The food was ready 20 minutes after we called in the order, but already cold after the 10 minute drive home. Both the brisket and the burnt ends app were almost inedible due to the overwhelming fattiness. The app in particular was so poorly prepared that many of the bites were 50% fat or more. Brisket was similar with a huge vein of fat down the middle of each slice. The ribs were barely a step up, as they were very dry and tough. The BBQ chicken was actually pretty good. Very disappointing, amateurish, bottom tier BBQ. We were tempted to call in and complain, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

I always enjoy going to Famous Dave's whenever I can find one. This is the first time at this location. I had the two meat lunch combo with brisket and ribs. The briskest was some of the best I've had. It was so tender and had tons of flavor. The ribs were also very good. My favorite sauce is sweet & zesty. read more

My wife and I had the platter for two a few days ago. It was bountiful and delicious. When I say bountiful, there were enough leftovers to provide lunch for two the next day. The ribs were sumptuous and the pulled pork just the same. The fries were not greasy. The food arrived in a timely fashion. They had a good selection of beers. Reasonable prices. As with all chain restaurants, I try to base my review on experience and not the food. I feel like every time I'm here, everything is sticky. The sauce bottles, the table, the chairs, even the paper towel holder. BBQ style usually is more casual of a setting, but that doesn't mean I don't want to eat on a clean surface. Our orders are always prompt, but occasionally we've had our orders come out wrong. They always correct this issue, but getting it right the first time is still preferred. In general, Famous Dave's doesn't have the BEST BBQ I've ever had and the meat is on the grisly side, but I'm a big fan of the corn muffins! read more
