The happy hour is where its at! I can order food and drinks for two people for under $25! The food is always delicious. I think the only bad thing I've eaten there was the pulled pork nachos. The flavors just don't mix well. The beer selection is okay, but I do wish there were some other brew options other than Coors and Sam Adams... We're in Colorado for crying out loud! The staff are very friendly but a little slow. Plan on waiting a little while to place any orders or be prepared to flag them down. They seemed to be more concerned with doing their side work, talking to each other, and eating their own meals rather than pay attention to their customers. Very disappointed in my recent visit, I ordered a feast for 2 over the phone with substitutions and she read it back to me correct. We got home and realized the order was wrong. I can understand if mistakes happen when you are dining in but when you order to go and your left with either the choice of sacrificing part of your meal because they forgot it, or sacrifice the rest of your meal being eaten warm to go pick up what they forgot. Living 15 minutes away means it's now been 45 minutes. Since my original order left the store. I was informed that our food would be ready at 9:37 pm. We have never been here before. So we were excited to try the food. We figured we would go kill some time at Ross while we waited for the food. We got back to the restaurant before 9:37 only to be informed that they were closed and never had an order from us. Bait and Switch... Came for Veterans Day on Nov 12 and the website states "Famous Dave's: On Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12 in honor of Veterans Day, Famous Dave's would like to thank all former and current military personnel for their dedication and service to our country by offering a FREE 2 Meat Salute." We in a group with our spouse and a Veteran in each pair, but we get there and they are only giving a pork sandwich and a side. That is not what we saw on their advertisement or what we can for, we talked to the manager and they told us that we could only have the sandwich. So we bought extra food and I know they know that... I will not go back there, they don't honor what THEY advertise so how can I trust them with my food? read more

My husband wanted bbq so we decided to order for takeout. We live in SE Denver, so we are in b/w this location and Stapleton but we decided to go to the one in Aurora. We got there- ordered/paid and was told 30 minutes wait and offered to text us when it's ready. So, we went to Target and about 40 minutes later, no texts. We thought our order should be ready. My husband got in line at Famous Dave's and was told I never paid. The hostess said my payment never went through the first time around. I told her that I remember paying but she insisted that it didn't go through. I asked if my order is ready because I would not want to wait another 30 or 45 minutes. So, I decided to pay the second time around and asked for email/print receipts and left with our food. Well, this experience wasn't settling with me when I got home. I checked my email and saw two receipts, basically I was charged twice. I called immediately and spoke with Ryan, manager, and he remembered what I ordered. He still didn't believe that I was charged twice. He wanted me to drive back to show the emails to him. He said those emails were not from them. I was mad, I took a bite of the food- cold and lousy. So, I left my husband home as I refused to pay $65 worth of lousy bbq along with terrible service. I have two emails and one hard copy receipt. I got there and they remembered my name. I showed them my emails and hard copy receipt. They finally reversed the charge. Remember, my time of driving 20 minutes x 2 just to show my receipts. The food is mediocre at best. It's too bad, you go out to support businesses and this is the type of treatment I get. This is definitely the last time I will go to this Famous Dave's! read more

Takeout from Famous Dave's is a family favorite!! We always get ribs and bring home plenty of Rich & Sassy BBQ Sauce. The ribs are large and meaty! The variety of sides is truthfully what puts Dave's above other rib restaurants (we used to drive to Parker Hickory House but their sides are lacking). There are so many sides to choose from at Dave's and all are delicious! The broccoli is always cooked perfectly, the collard greens are tasty, and the green beans, Mac & cheese, and baked beans all have a spicy flair. In addition to making great food, the staff at Dave's is always super friendly. I'm updating my review to include a new family fav!!!... the All-American BBQ Feast! It's been a while since we came back to this restaurant. Used to love coming here because of their corn bread and service. Today was a different day. We were sat right away but after that, waitresses just pass by us without saying anything. It just took us like 15 minutes or so to finally get somebody's attention and we have to ask for our server. The lady came back and said that our server is very busy. Coming from a customer oriented profession, I totally get it. However, you should be greeted at least and say you will be back in a few. We go here often, the food is always delicious! We like to sit in the bar area on Sunday's for the ALL DAY Happy Hour, however they are severely understaffed. This area has one waitress and one bartender for the WHOLE restaurant. Needless to say the poor waitress has issues waiting on 11-4 person tables. The bartender is busy making drinks for all tables in the restaurant and unable to help in the bar area. The waitress ends up having to wait tables and make drinks for the tables in the bar area. Today it took over 2 hours to eat a meal because we had to wait on the overworked waitress to circle back around. This has happened many times: January, March, May, and today! I felt so bad for her because people wanted Happy Hour but it's only served in the bar area and it was her for 11 tables. Seriously swing someone else in to help or hire someone else!!!! You need 2 waitresses when all tables are full! read more

Let me start by saying I love the food. It was after 1 on a Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was empty. We walked in an employee was standing in front of the hostess station. The hostess had to look around the guy in front of her. She asked us where we wanted to sit, all the while the other employee kept talking to her as if we weren't there. Must admit place is good, we ordered feast for two for 40$ - food was great, cooked right, ribs are juicy and tender, just what expected. Beer was server cold and nice - fat tire is my favorite one. One of my favorite restaurants. Hot link sausage and ribs are by far the best you can get. This place does a large volume of business, so you may have to wait for a table. Worth the wait, if so. If you have an opportunity to try their macaroni and cheese...it's to die for. Mixed with a kick of jalapeno pepper, it is unlike anything I have had before. All-American Feast is a good one to try. The worst ever! Placed an order online at 5:15pm. It wouldn't let you pick the asap button so it moved the time to 6:15pm. An hour wait for pick up. Ok at 30 minutes I called in and asked if order was really going to be ready at 6:15 or maybe that was a typo. Spoke to Amy and all she could do was say how busy they were and behind there were. I asked to speak to a manager and she said "she will tell you the same thing". I spoke to Sondra and she said they were well over 30 minutes behind the the hour window. What? This is Father's Day. AN HOUR AND A HALF TO PICK UP FOOD WITH HARDLY NO ONE IN YOUR DINING AREA!!!!We go in at 6:15 and there is no food ready. I asked for a district managers name and number which she gave me and still wanted to argue with me about how busy they are and how proud she is of her staff and their work. After 4 times saying I just want my food and I am not arguing she cancelled my order. There is no food that will be ready. There were hardly no one dining inside(I didn't see anyone) and tons of people out side waiting and cancelling orders. What a waste of and hour and a half for us on Fathers Day. I did call the district manager also and spoke with him. He said I am sorry you were a victim to this. Now I get to wait for my credit and have no food and a waste of time. Not sure where to start. 4 people to dine in which we were thrilled to eat out and be waited on after being quarantined for a few months. Employees were all wearing masks, every other table was blocked out for social distancing but we were still seated at a table close to other tables and booths. Looking around the restaurant did not appear clean, our table was sticky and we were handed paper menus which are meant to be disposable but they picked them up and reused them! There were only 2 waiters and service was very slow. Order for food was not taken until after our appetizer was on the table. I can tolerate slower service but the food quality was not great either, the brisket was tough, the riblets were so chewy, my chopped pork was cold. We figured it was an off night. As we were waiting for our check we watched the bus persons and were SHOCKED and disgusted at how they were cleaning the bottles of bbq sauce and condiments!!! They were spraying the bottles with the disinfectant cleaner and I mean open full spray over the top of the squirt bottle. My goodness, you could make someone sick! We watched different people do the exact same thing. Since it was a no phone dinner, none of us had a cell phone to record what they are doing. Absolutely unacceptable. I asked for a manager and was told no one was available. Also, Just because your employees wear gloves does not mean they can wear the same gloves all night, handle food, pick up dirty utensils, wash tables and not change your gloves and wash your hands. *** update *** Famous Dave's manager Sondra called me, she was very nice and once we talked I am confident that more training is being done. She agreed that what we saw was the incorrect protocols and walked me thru what should have been done. In the early stages of reopening all the servers had to be retrained and the crew on this particular shift got another training session. One thing I did not know is that the disinfectant being sprayed is a food grade so it's safe to use around the squirt bottles. Sondra was very considerate, and I can't wait to go back again. What a disappointment at Famous Dave's! The food was ok/average (3-stars). The ribs and chicken were nothing special and the mac-n-cheese was good. However the service was terrible and that deserves -2 stars. We ate in the bar and Katie introduce herself as the our waitress. She dropped off one glass of water and a beer. That was the last time she waited on us. No refills. No more beer. No more service, even though everyone around us were getting plenty of service. After we ordered, we discovered a flier on the table that the bar had a happy hour (3-6pm). She didn't mention anything about a Happy Hour for food or drinks when we ordered at 5:30. We may not have ordered from the Happy Hour menu but it would have been nice to have that as an option. This location deserves no stars because of the service. I gave them 2 stars because the food was soooo good. We reserved for a group of 20 - 25 and only had 15 show up. But the service still couldn't keep up. Took about 30 minutes before someone took our drink orders. After about 20 minutes half of the drinks arrived and then another 15 - 20 minutes before the other half of the cold drinks arrived, finally after another 10 minutes the server brought my cup of coffee and took our food orders. After about 30 minutes our food orders started wandering out. We asked for and the server 5took our requests for drink refills. The refills were never received. When the final food order arrived, the couple refused the order as everyone else in the group had finished eating. The experience was one of wait and be ignored. The server may have the impression that we are a bunch of cheapskates as I'm sure that the tips were minimal by those that chose to leave a tip. We left about half of what would be normal. Stopped in today for my fiancee's B-day. We are both BBQ hounds, so we decided to give Dave's a go around. We ordered the Feast for two which consisted of 3-4 different meats, sides...etc, perfect for us. 5 different kinds of sauces for your meats which i thought was nice, ranging from sweet to hot. Unfortunately, where Dave strikes out is consistency. The ribs, which, (by the way) were fantastic, the rest of the meats are average at best, and the hospitality there was a bit overkill for my liking, but hey--at least i can't say they are rude. Fair-weather BBQ fans would probably love Dave's, but for me and my fiancee' it just wasn't a big hit with us. I've loved their BBQ in the restaurant but tonight I ordered delivery through grubhub. With delivery and tip I paid almost $30 for brisket, chicken, mash and slaw. Bit expensive but I would eat well. When it arrived I had 3 thin slices of brisket on a piece of dry bread, one chicken leg and two tiny (at most 3 tablespoons) sides. My coworkers love this place and go there every Thursday for the all you can eat rib tips. I went with them a few weeks ago and quite honestly I don't think I'll be back.
