We ate here on the recommendation of a local. The food was good, I will say that. Keep in mind we were starving. Also need to say it was SO LOUD and just generally manic that my husband was starting to get homicidal before the food was served! Service was pleasant but slow. So....if you don't mind LOUD / manic environment, and have some time / are not starving, and really love BBQ, then I recommend it. If that is not your thing, dine elsewhere. We enjoy Daves( much better than Applebee's by the way) people are nice generally, food is consistent and very good. Wish they still catered to seniors- they removed the 1/2 sizes from the menus, and my mother now has more food than she can eat which is disappointing but overall we enjoy this restaurant. Update 7/30/16 : I think something here has changed, food is not as good, dried out tough , portions : eat-in or takeout have been downsized - quality has taken a dive also - no menu for seniors so I take mom elsewhere - usually bajiios across the street. The food was excellent but the wait was very long. We were inside for an hour and 15 mins. It took almost 30mins just to get our appetizer. At first I thought there wasn't enough wait staff but after looking around it looked like plenty. Maybe in the kitchen? My mother and I stopped in on a Monday night for a light meal and sat in the bar area hoping for quick service. We both ordered baked potatoes and my mom also ordered the soup. The service was very slow and when our food finally arrived at our table, the potatoes were cold. When we told our server, she took the potatoes and said she would get two new ones. They were just as cold as the first two. I've had a couple of bad experiences at this location now and won't be back. read more

It is basic barbecue. It was okay. They have five sauces to choose from served on the table, so we tasted them all, but I only liked the Sweet and Zesty. The hottest sauce they have I would score a 1 on my scale. But the corn muffin that comes with every meal was AMAZING. read more

My wife and I shared the full rack of baby back ribs, with two sides, garlic mashed potatoes and Wilbur's beans (baked beans with slightly sweet flavor and small pieces of pork). Yikes Famous Dave's. I placed an order at 6:06pm on UberEats. Waited for a driver to pick it up and at almost two hours later I called and asked what I should do. They said I could come pick it up and that most food gets left at the restaurant because apparently it happens all the time. I asked her how long it had sat there at she replied 10-20 minutes tops and that it was still warm. Okay, so still warm, that's doable. I drove down to get my order, two hours since I had ordered, and when I got there I asked if it was any trouble to warm it up because it was cold (definitely was longer than 20 minutes) and the girl told me she'd ask her manager. He said no. So here's the thing. Why as a restaurant would you continue to offer UberEats if you know that it's hard to find drivers to deliver the food and most often times it gets left there (according to the girl I spoke to on the phone). Also, if you know the drivers never show up and someone has to come personally get their order, why wouldn't you offer some customer service help? And lastly, the whole point of ordering the contactless delivery service is no contact, so having to drive down and get it myself kind of defeats the purpose. Hey Dave - you can do a lot better than this. First - what happened to the wedge fries? Now you just have the same frozen potatoes that everyone else has. I ordered Mac and cheese as a side and I got Mac corn and cheese. Nasty! Full disclosure please. Also ordered my bacon fully cooked and crispy. Was no where close to crisp. Could not eat it. Also ordered the south side bbq sauce. Not sure what they brought out but it was not the sauce I ordered. The ice tea was so weak you could hardly differentiate it from water. Took family out for Supper on a Monday Night. Service was very slow from the waitress to the kitchen. Waitress seemed angry, annoyed, and in a hurry to get our order. Didn't barely have enough time to review menu. Wife's burger came out with a crusty, old, stiff hard bun on it. Asked to get it replaced and the second one came out and it was still bad. I had pulled pork and brisket dinner. Pulled pork was dry, over cooked and only a dab of sauce on top. Not tossed at all. They put it on a dry, stale piece of bread. Brisket was super salty. It also was put on a dry, stale piece of bread. No butter for my corn bread. My daughter had ribs, they were over cooked and burnt. The kitchen needs to do better. I used to frequent here when I was traveling for business. 1. GET THE RIB TIPS! (Depending on who was smoking them; ask the server/bartender/manager if it is a juicy batch. They will tell you. When cooked correctly, they are incredible. 2. Next option, the brisket. Hard to go wrong with the Famous Dave's Brisket. 3. Most of the staff at this location rocks. (Some, however, are still learning.) Summary: Great place when staffed correctly. Food can be very inconsistent. Going in for lunch? Go to the bar area and ask if Melissa is working. She had the bar and bar area under her care and she did not miss a single table. I was undecided between two meat combo for lunch and the Ultimate burger. Melissa directed me to the Ultimate burger without a pause-she was right! Melissa also had all 25 drafts in her memory and available when I asked about the selection. The food arrived shortly after and I was not disappointed, a good sized burger under a nice portion of chopped pork. The bun barely held it all and I quickly questioned not cutting it in half to get it into my hands and mouth! The jalapeno bacon made the burger even better! I had to add the Devil's Spit sauce to take it up a notch and make it better and more messy! Melissa was back at my table shortly after to check on my meal and get another beer to help wash down the feast. Shortly after finishing, another server quickly removed my empty plate and then Melissa was back asking if I was ready for dessert. The Ultimate had done it's job and there was no room for dessert. She quickly had my check ready and returned with my change with little wait time. A great meal enhanced by the wonderful service throughout the meal. The bar area had few empty tables and Melissa was buzzing around making sure everyone was fed, beverages full, and comfortable with the service at all times. I do not see this often enough at restaurants, let alone chain restaurants. Its been two years since I've been to famous daves. So tonight Xander and I where in town running some errands, I thought hey lets go to famous daves. So we go in sit down and order our food. 30 mins later dinner has arrived. Looks damn good too. About 15 mins in Xander has to use the bathroom. He's never been there so I take him to the men's room. We get back and our table is clean. Not a trace of our dinner...I'm thinking what the hell...did they move us? Nope. Even though our jackets were on our chairs the busboy just took upon himself to throw away our dinner....So the waitress and bartender are horrified and pissed. I'm pissed, Xander's upset everyone is pissed. They make us new food and I ask for it to go. It gets there 30 mins later I pay the tab get home and they didn't even give me the right food. WHAT THE HELL... Famous Dave's part #2 Famous Dave's continued - So I just got off the phone with Trevor who is the manager of the shift manager and Trevor's manager Michael who is the district manager. After talking to Trevor and explaining to him the situation and being told my refund would not be approved for over a week. I told Trevor that really it seems like no one cared about what happened and the fact they threw away my 8 yr olds dinner. And that everyone else was passing the situation on to someone else and not wanting to take responsibility for the situation. I asked for his boss Michael who proceeded to tell me that Famous Dave's was not obligated to refund my money and I should be grateful they are doing that and they would not offer anything else.... Ok so basically shit happens and it's not our problem is Famous Dave's stand. Wow...there ya go folks how's that for problem solving by a local restaurant. REALLY THE BEST BAR-B-QUE FOOD IN KALISPELL!!! Every time we come to Kalispell, ( 5 times ), we have at least one dinner at Famous Daves. Consistantly TERRIFIC Bar-B-Q!!! Their ribs are always great and the meats are cooked to absolute perfection! Now the food alone is worth five stars but sit outside with a view of Glacier Park and the Mission Mountains right behind you and I must say that it really doesn"t get any better than that. I have a list of places I don't go and Famous Dave's is number one on the list. To compact in one area first of all. We have had a waiter try to sit people at our table with us that we didn't even know because it was to cram packed. My last experience was with my family on my birthday, I figured give it another shot my kids like bbq. Now it was once again so packed they sat us outside right off the bat with major attitude and that was the last service we saw that day. Before leaving we waited about 45 minutes and the only person who even saw us outside was a big fake pig waiving at my son. The foods decent but not worth that kind of shitty service. Ordered the brisket, it was pretty overcooked and tasted like rehydrated beef jerky. I'm not trying to be hypercritical but the meat was pretty dry and tough. However, they have great sauces and the BBQ chips are a good change from the usual fry. But their fries are great too. The Mac and cheese has jalapeños which gives it a nice kick too. Found myself challenged at dinner time with a ravenous out of town friend in the land of big boxes & chain restaurants- what to do? My preference is to patronize independent restaurants whenever possible. We decided to just make do w Famous Dave's... and what a happy surprise. The staff was outgoing & upbeat. We got seated right away in a clean booth that was so big we felt we could have easily lain down. But, alas, the service was so prompt, we didn't have time for a nap. Ravenous friend had the baby back ribs that were devoured w a saucy, smeared smile (extra paper towels & wet wipes easily accessible on the table ). I had the cedar planked salmon. I originally had a mighty hankering for BBQ chicken and was stunned & disappointed that they were out - still cooking... Thinking I was going to settle w some dried out fish w worn out side dishes, I can't believe how scrumptious the BBQ salmon, roasted Brussels sprouts & steamed broccoli turned out!
