We went here for Mother's Day and they were not busy at all, so we didn't have to wait for a table. After ordering, our food was delivered, but our waiter never once checked on us!! I wanted to order more cornbread and eventually had to ask another waitress to get our server. Once he finally came back to the table, he was nice, but I shouldn't have to ask just to get service. We ordered carry out. My wife specifically advised no peppers/onions on the nachos. I ordered the beef brisket burnt ends. The food was placed into the containers upside down. My wife's meal had many peppers and onions sliced and placed on the nachos. She is allergic to spicy foods. My burnt ends were soggy felt like left over from previous day.Fries were soggy not crisp. We tried contacting the restaurant and was apologized to and offered to make another batch but we were already out of the neighborhood and enroute back home. It will be awhile before we revisit. I am not sure why food can't be made right the first time. Prices have increase and quality and service is in a downward spiral. Very disappointed because one of my favorite restaurants. read more

One of the worst dining experiences food wise that I have had in a long long time. Burnt Ends are not fatty brisket with BBQ sauce on it. When I told them these were not acceptable, they said they would bring me new ones. 2nd try fatty brisket with burnt BBQ sauce. You do know that making burnt ends happens in the smoker where the fatty part turns crispy and burnt. You did injustice to that animal that you cooked up. read more

Many years ago I got introduced to Famous Dave's when a location was in my area. The location has since closed down but whenever I have the opportunity, I will always make time or find a reason to go to one. Even if I've just gotten done with a meal and I see one down the road I find it hard to not go in. Famous Dave's is a chain. You can't deny that. But as far as BBQ Chains go, Famous Dave's has it going on! Sure, independent places are typically the best when you're looking for the best in BBQ. But, when you're looking for one in an area where they typically won't have one offs, Famous Dave's is the place to be. I always get the ribs. Usually the baby back ribs. For the sides, I'm a big fan of their coleslaw. Somewhat sweet and very creamy. Their cornbread muffins are also excellent. The downside to the corn bread muffins is that they're usually not warm. I prefer them a little warm. The beans are good also. The beauty of Famous Dave's is this: whether you are in South Dakota, Michigan, Kentucky or any other state, when you walk into a Famous Dave's you know what you're getting into. Would I go back? One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in quite some time. We showed up at 1pm. Both the wife and I got the 3 meat platter. Each of us got brisket, which was absolutely disgusting. There was essentially no meat at all, solid fat, felt like jello in the mouth. My burnt ends were cold, along with the wife's pork and her potatoes. Before we even left the restaurant, the wife was running to the restroom. We both had sour stomachs instantly after leaving, luckily some Pepto did ease the aches for the night. Sad to report..The prices were higher (which would be fine if there weren't serious problems but..) the food quality was significantly lower, a lot of yelling and hoopla, the floors were sticky, I think the ceiling is shedding, dark stuff kept dropping down on our table. They smell so good the neighbors are going to be jealous (lucky for us they weren't home)! I have to say I thought the brisket was going to be take a bite and pull,., nope! The brisket was like butter soft, smoked perfectly and very tasty. The Wilbur beans are the best beans I've ever had with chunks of meat & sauce not too sweet,..just right (maybe they should be called Goldilocks beans cause they were just right). The ribs were delicious too & the cornbread wasn't crumbly & the honey was real honey (not some fake corn syrup crap). We ordered carry out and they said it took 15 minutes to make. We came in 20 minutes and added 20 more minutes.

First time stopping in. First thing that hit us was the smell that set my mouth watering. The staff had no problems with our large dog Sarge as we sat on the patio. Severs were great and very friendly. As it was the first time there my wife and I shared the Mix patter for two. The food was great. Meat was perfectly done and very tasty. We will be going back every time we want BBQ from now on. read more

I'm going to give Famous Dave the benefit of the doubt and say they had an off night tonight. We were staying at the KOA and really didn't feel like going out, meaning we got carry out. This had nothing to do with the delivery service they were on point. Everything but the ribs tasted really good. Corn bread, baked beans, french fries, onion straws all good. Ribs...not so good. We really don't know what it was we couldn't put our finger on it, they didn't give us sauce maybe that was it. Don't get me wrong we love famous Dave's and we are not giving a bad review. Things happen, anyone can have an off night. To keep things positive, all the sides and the onion straws were good. This is a late review, but we were on our way back home from a very sad event, the memorial service for my daughter. We were depressed, tired, and hungry when we settled on eating at Famous Dave's. First of all, from the minute we walked in, our wait-person Nick, brightened our mood considerably. Not only was he kind, informative, and thoughtful, he was one of the funniest people we've met in a long time. He performed a miracle, he actually got us to laugh! I have been to Famous Dave's a million times, actually worked at this location YEARS ago. I dont know if it was just an off night or if things have gone drastically downhill. From what I remember previously Famous Dave's prided themselves on an upbeat positive atmosphere. We entered the establishment on a Wednesday at 6:30pm. There was no one at the hostesses station and we stood there being walked by by staff for about 5 minutes. We were seated at a dirty table and the hostess says "Do you want me to wipe it down?" Uhhh.... Yeah, we are in the middle of a pandemic, I'd prefer not to sit at a dirty table. They are not adhering to 6 feet social distancing, a table was seated directly on the other side of our booth. This isn't a deal breaker for us but might be for some. There were still crumbs on the table after she "wiped it down". The waitress came to our table with a less than enthusiastic attitude and wasn't able to answer many of my questions. The menu's are out of date with items "no longer available". We ordered the catfish fingers for an appetizers, they were good. We each ordered the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich and both of us liked it. After our server dropped off our food we didn't see her again until she was dropping off food to another table and I stopped her and asked for a to-go box and the ticket. Overall, I enjoyed the food but our service and the cleanliness of the establishment need work. read more

I have eaten at this Famous Dave's location since it opened around five years ago. My best friend worked there through high school and became the manager of the catering group during the first summer of college so I might have a bias, but I'll keep it down. The food at this FD is great. The ribs are FD win awards every year. They smother them in amazing sauces that you can mix and match. I highly recommend a two meat combo. This way you can get a few bones and some brisket or sausage. This will fill you up for sure! The atmosphere is good and the people are nice. Sadly, I wasn't hungry enough to enjoy the meal but it was still good and hit the spot. Got the rack of 6 ribs and 2 sides to share and it was more than enough for our hunger level. The ribs were nice, juicy, tender and just ripped right off the bone.. MMM! There were various sauces on the table that you can put on them such as a sweet or hot one but I felt that the ribs were flavorful enough so that I didn't have to put the sauce on. We really enjoyed this visit and ate way too much. The staff is very friendly and the ribs were yummy. I had the new catfish which has a Cajun seasoning, it is spicy but really good! All the food was served hot Our only complaint, I asked for a take out cup and they didn't have one. I have always liked Famous Dave's Brisket. Because I don't eat pork, their chicken and brisket is my go to. They were out of chicken tonight so I asked for Brisket. It was awful. It was so fatty there was barely any meat on it. And it honestly looked like pork, not beef. I had two bites and threw the rest away. I spent $50 on food I hated. Came here based off of decent reviews so I figured why not. Couldn't stay to dine in since it was already late when I got here so I took an order to go, but the dining atmosphere looks relatively solid/decent. Ordered a 2-Meat Combo & picked mac & cheese along with broccoli as my two sides. It also came with a corn muffin, which I appreciated. My impressions? Decent. The Texas beef brisket was tender & juicy, but still a far cry from what you can get in TX (unsurprisingly). However, it was indeed a decent job/attempt for sure. Georgia chopped pork was okay, but a little too dry for my preferences. The mac & cheese was solid - cheese was flavorful, gooey, and wonderful to eat. The corn muffin was also great in taste although I would have preferred it a little warm if possible. All in all, not a bad choice for BBQ.
