On 8/28/25 I went to the Buzzards Bay Brewing Co. The Fancheezical truck was there and the truck was supposed to be serviced food around 4pm. The truck was sitting there empty until roughly 6 pm when a car pulled up and a guy jumped out with bags of bread and went into the food truck.. How the hell do you run a food truck and forget the bread? This is the second time I have seen this happen with this truck. The sandwiches are all bread and very little cheese and other items in them. Definitely not worth the prices they are asking. I can make a better grilled cheese at home for alot less money. read more

I went to Buzzards Bay Brewery in Westport, where the Fancheezical truck was. It was Taco Tuesday, so they were serving tacos. On the menu it listed all meat options, but there was a note about food allergies. My fiancé ordered a variety of tacos and asked about vegan options for me. They said they could do hummus and pico de gallo, which was fine! I went up and ordered two "vegan" tacos. I gobbled them up, they were so good. I went up to order more and was told they weren't making those anymore. A little deflated and confused, I went back to my seat. My fiancé went up to order more tacos and apparently said something to the person ordering food. A few minutes later, the chef comes out with two tacos and a special side dish of grape leaves and artichoke hearts - which were out of this world!! The chef sat with us and chatted about where he got his hummus and tortilla shells and even showed me to packaging. He was incredibly nice and it was thoughtful of him to come and do what he did. What's better than a grilled cheese? A Fancheezical grilled cheese!!! This was my first food truck experience, and it was fantastic! First, I have to say I love cheese. If you don't, you won't like this truck. The cook was great, friendly and helpful and the inside of the truck looked very pleasantly clean. I ordered a delicious provolone,tomato,and pesto grilled cheese on italian bread. It was heavenly! Plenty of cheese, not too much pesto, YUM! I surprised myself by ordering the crazy corn too. Being my first food truck experience, I figured I should! It was great! Kind of reminded me of a corn chili. I would definitely recommend it. The BBQ pulled pork + cheese on rye is the best bet if you're hungry and spot the truck o cheez, but I wouldn't call it a destination grilled cheese by any means. The more basic, homey cheese blend on white bread option is kind of lame. I got burned out before I could finish it, actually. My Fiancé and I often frequent the Providence Flea on Sunday afternoons along the water in Providence. We love this, yes for the vendors but even more so for the food trucks. We would usually opt for the Taco Truck options, because of our gluten allergy but a few weeks ago we asked the fine people at Fancheezical if there was a possibility for them to accommodate such allergy. The friendly staff informed us they do have gluten free bread, and although they do not have a separate grill to grill the sandwich on they graciously offered to put tinfoil down to cut out cross contamination. They totally went above and beyond to accommodate our allergy. Seeing how it would be so easy to just cook on same grill and fudge it was cooked separately, the staff at Fancheezical really took responsibility and were more than happy to serve us. And boy were we happy because their grilled cheeses are AMAZING! We both got 'The Hill' and we more than happy. Best gourmet grilled cheese around and totally worth the wait, and the price. read more

I love cheese. All kinds of cheese. My love for cheese does not discriminate. But I didn't fall IN LOVE with cheese until I devoured a grilled cheese sandwich from FanCHEEZical. "The B.B.Q." Grilled cheese sandwich just melted in my mouth. "Succulent pulled pork drizzled with North Carolina BBQ sauce smothered in a superb secret cheese blend on hearty Rye bread." To sum it up, HEAVEN. Fancheezical--so delicious, so elusive, such a stupid name. I've been wanting to try these guys since I first heard that there was a magical truck that served nothing but grilled cheese. Grilled cheese is a perfect food and lunch trucks are where many of my favorite meals have come from. I *want* to eat at Fancheezical all the time, but I keep getting burned. A couple months ago, I had Friday off and my bf's regular Friday lunch was canceled--perfect time to go get grilled cheese together, we thought. I follow Fancheezical on facebook, so I asked what their Friday plans were--they said Thayer street. Perfect! Except we hiked all over the Brown U area looking for the truck only to later find out that they were in Kennedy Plaza. Too far away to walk, and we were desperate for food. Damn you--truck mobility! I finally went to Kennedy Plaza alone two weeks later (bf is still angry), and I had whatever the Vermont Cheddar with apples sandwich is called. Um yeah, it was awesome, now I'll spend the rest of my life chasing this damn truck. Strike 2, I sent bf to the Hope Street Spring Block Party. I work on Hope St, and was unable to get away, but I figured he could bring me a sandwich and then we'd have a lovely picnic date. Except Fancheezical ran out of cheese before we got there. Let's qualify this rating - high for a food truck which is not the same as I would categorize a brick and mortar restaurant. Okay, got that out of my system. Just didn't want to confuse people into thinking I'm not a knowledgable foodie! Fancheezical has imaginative combinations of great ingredients elevating the grill cheese sandwich to new heights. Can't remember the cutsey name given to the sandwich I had, but it had proscuitto and apricot jam on it. Really delightful on a beautiful spring day in the breeze. We also had the tomato bisque soup. Can't wait to have that cup of yum again. I had complained via email to the owner about them advertising gluten free options and then not having them available when I went the first time. They jumped through hoops to make sure I was accomodated the second time offering me free soup to appease me in the mean time. The BBQ grilled cheese is the most amazing sandwich I've had, maybe ever. The service is usually prompt as long as the line isn't too long and the woman at the counter is always very friendly. If I'm going to pay $6 for a grilled cheese sandwich, it better be pretty darn great. Unfortunately, over the years I've had a few too many "gourmet" grilled cheese sandwiches that mess up the melty charm of the homemade variety by using bread that's too dry and chewy or cheeses that don't reach the right consistency. Fancheezical doesn't make that mistake. I ordered the BBQ, which seems to be the favorite from their repertoire at the moment, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The ratio of bread to meat to cheese was spot on, and the taste was better than I could have achieved in my own kitchen without losing the familiar consistency. The only weak spot in my order was the side of tomato soup for dipping, which is a brilliant idea but not quite worked out yet. The soup was cold, way too sweet, and had an unpleasant Campbell's-ish taste, even though I'm pretty sure it was homemade. read more

Mmm greasy heaven... Fancheezical was pretty dang good. I had the grilled cheese with pulled pork on it and holy cheezus was it yummy. The flavor of the bbq sauce, pork and cheese mingled with the taste of the rye bread just perfectly. I was an instant fan. Now, with that said, it's not my favorite food truck out there. Grilled cheese isn't something I would seek out. If it's in the area, and there are no taco trucks in sight, I would certainly stop and purchase one. I stopped here on a Tuesday afternoon hoping for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, so were a LOT of other people. That said, the service was as fast as could be expected, and the food....! I got a nice standard, grilled cheddar with dill pickles. It was perfect, buttery and rich and melty. I settled in with my Yacht Club soda and my sammich, and imagine my joy at the perfect little dipping cup of parmesan-tomato soup. Granted, this was the most amazing grilled cheese I have ever had in my life: buttery, grilled, thick-sliced-bread; melty provolone cheese; tangy pesto; and ripe, warm tomatoes smashed into one greasy sandwich. The sandwiches are super, super good. The #19 and the Hill are especially delicious. Think of the best grilled cheese your mom made after a long, hard day, filled with the trials and tribulations that a 4th grader must endure; only more refined, and out of a food truck. Came here for whole foods national grilled cheese day festivities. I ordered the apple a day which was soooo amazing! And the fact that they serve a souffle cup of tomato soup for dipping is so thoughtful and comforting. The ingredients were fresh and some local. The only reasons i didn't give more stars is the wait was a bit long ( maybe i was impatient because it was raining) and they only had 3 options on the menu, perhaps they think, if you do three things right you don't need more. Tried fancheezeical tonight at buzzards bay brewery in Westport, ma and while it wasn't the worst burger I've ever had, it certainly wasn't the best. Girlfriend and I split a pico bacon burger and pulled pork cheddar burger. Both were thick hamburger patties, cooked to a perfect medium well. Pico burger didn't have much flavor other than the bacon but the main issue was the grease for both burgers. The buns that were used were so thin they were soaked through with grease and made them a project to eat. The pulled pork topping was flavorful but the experience was ruined with a super sloppy and greasy mess that wasn't worth the $8 & $10 that was charged. Giving a two stars in hopes that the grilled cheeses are better. read more

Went to an event and they ran out of bread, so no more grilled cheese. I witnessed a person buying mac and cheese and they said it would be 10 minutes, after 10 minutes they sold some right in front of her and said "sorry we and out" and offered her corn. The service was bad, the food was smaller portions, and took way to long to get. I would not recommend fancheezical! read more

I tried fancheezical again and still agree with my three star rating. While its tasty, I just sort of feel like I could make it myself at home. I had the Decadance, which was brie, arugula and apricot spread. It was quite good but I did feel that in some places in the sandwich the ratio between the three ingredients was a bit off. I'd say Fancheezical was a 3.5 star for me. I had a grilled cheese and bacon, which was oh-so greasy good. The way a grilled cheese should be! I also had a cup of the tomato soup and here is where I think they fall short. It was cream of tomato, but to me tasted like it was campbell's made with milk or something similar of that sort. If they had a bit of a more hearty tomato soup, more like a bisque or a tomato rice soup, then I think it would have been much better. That being said, I know they are not a tomato soup truck and the grilled cheese was very, very good. Definitely worth the trip for a sandwich. read more

The thought of a grilled cheese food truck makes me immediately smile. One of my favorite comfort foods hands down. I enjoyed my tomato, pesto, and 2 cheese grilled cheese from Fancheezical but think they might be able to put in a little more effort. I think they should try some more interesting breads, it was the only complaint on the sandwich I have. The bread I had def came from a 99 cent loaf. I thought the small side of tomato soup was a brilliant idea, until it tasted like canned soup. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. It is my favorite food truck in providence, and the most consistent in it's quality. Completely satisfying; you get a great sandwich with a small cup of tomato soup! I can't help but stop by when I am walking home. I was very disappointed I got the BBQ and it had hardly any BBQ sauce on it and the cheese had little to no taste. Had potential but did not deliver good food. I tried the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich. Having not had any food before from FanCheezical, I started getting concerned when it seemed to be taking a while to get my sandwich. Luckily, I didn't wait in vain for the hearty, toasty, melted, barbecue deliciousness of their pulled pork grilled cheese. The sandwich is served on rye bread, which works perfectly to cut the the rich cheese and absorb some of the barbecue flavors of the pork. Every bite was not only worth it, but after eating just half the sandwich, I felt full and satisfied. This is a wonderfully comforting and hearty sandwich. I also tried their watermelon salad. I'd never had watermelon salad before and I was surprised by how well the feta cheese went with the watermelon and cherry tomatoes. The flavors aren't immediately something I would put together in my mind, but I broadened my palate! On a hot summer day this refreshing dish was a welcome addition to the meal. read more
