Solid place for bagels but I find that the bagels aren't flavorful enough. The cheddar one is weak in the sense of cheddar. I often get cheddar when I go to bagel shops because I love the strong taste but I barely tasted it. That being said the bagels are soft and so good in terms of freshness. I go twice a month and usually pick up half a dozen but it isnt my favorite bagel shop. One I find a better one that is still close I will def be switching. But these bagels are still good Ive jus had better. So they get three stars for how soft they are, some of the softest bagels even at 11-12. They lost the 2 stars cuz I wish some of the bagels flavors were stronger. read more

A visit to tractor supply next door brought us out for bagels. Not the first time I've been there and probably won't be the last. It's good in fact used to be our go to bagel place until I found better. I myself got a rye bagel with lox spread. My daughter an Asiago with chive spread and the wife. My daughter and I have been going to Fancy Bagel for years. We love the bagels. The girls are really nice. The service is terrible. We have always been okay with dealing with the chaos that comes with getting our weekly supply of bagels but it gets worse and worse each time and the last two times have been the worst. So much so that after today's experience I told my daughter we are finding another place to get our bagels. Even if it means driving a much longer distance than the five minutes it takes us to get to the shop on Rt. 6. A couple of weeks ago we stopped in around 12:45 in the afternoon to pick up some bagels and an iced coffee. There was a girl at the door sweeping and she informed us that they were out of bagels but they have wraps. A little annoyed because I have never gone into a bagel shop only to be told they have no bagels. Whatever. Not a huge deal. My daughter still wanted an iced coffee so we go up to the register. There is a girl standing at the register, she looks at me, the phone rings, she answers it and walks away. Wth? We leave completely annoyed. Today we go to pick up some bagels and an iced coffee. It was around 9:30 a.m. and there was a line of about three people outside the door. My daughter gets in line while I wait in the car. It doesn't take her very long to get in the door. Every few minutes I look up from my book to see if my daughter is coming out and I notice the people that are in line and the ones coming out. At one point I notice a women with pink headphones on standing in line. This was about ten minutes after my daughter went into the shop. After another 5 or ten minutes I notice this woman come out of the shop with a bag of bagels. I'm wondering what the heck is taking so long. I'm watching people come out that had been in line after my daughter went in. Finally, after 30 minutes I go into the shop and find my daughter standing off to the side near the chips. She told me it took her less than five minutes to get the bagels and about 15 minutes to pay. Each time she went to pay someone either cut her off or the phone rang and the girl at the register ignored her. Now she is waiting for her coffee and cream cheese. I tell the girl my daughter is waiting for her stuff and she was nice and got right on it but this happens all the time and we are done. They need a better system. There had to be eight girls behind the counter. It is incredibly disorganized back there. They are all getting in each other's way. Someone needs to come up with a system where they each have a job and do it. I don't think any of them know what the other is doing and it is complete chaos back there. They are a very busy shop but with that being said it shouldn't take 15 minutes of aggravation to pay for a dozen bagels and then be forgotten about as your standing there waiting for your cream cheese. And, they didn't even give us a baker's dozen today like they normally do. read more

Nice little bagel shop with a lot to choose from. Bagels that I've never even heard of but sound really good. Going to buy a few of the sweet cinnamon to take home and try. Had a bacon egg and cheese on a cheddar cheese bagel and it was good. Little dirty but they were cleaning and the tables could use a freshening up. Wow what a great bagel (but not as good as Bagel King in Fairfield, but those bagels are like 7 stars out of 5). Got a bacon egg and cheese and it was exactly what I was expecting. Coffee was alright but I wasn't expecting to walk in and be served Stumptown or Counter Culture or anything (they had Downeast coffee which I would say is on par with Green Mountain or the like). Staff was nice, I was greeted by almost everyone behind the counter, and the gal who took my order said it back to me which is always a good sign. Only downside is my bagel for here was served on a styrofoam plate? It's whatever but I'd prefer at least paper if not a real plate, but ultimately it's just a conduit for the sandwich. All in all, I'll be back and often. read more

The bagels are okay and so is the service, this location tho will never keep up with the Southington one. I just moved from Southington where fancy bagels is traditional and it's amazing every time.... this one is just not the same. The effort is there but not the execution. The staff is usually overwhelmed, yet always have a smile on their faces!! The orders are always worth the super short wait, but what would you expect at the best bagel place in town?! They are always willing to customize any of their sandwiches to taste and they take phone orders too! Soft chewy delicious bagels, fresh cream cheese, delicious bagel sandwiches & a small price to pay additionally for farm fresh eggs! What's not to like. Really good bagels, great service, excellent cream cheeses. Just as a note, the bagels are not just baked like some lesser quality bagels (Such as Dunkin' Donuts), the best part of a bagel is the chewiness that only comes with water. Fancy Bagel is a Farmington fave for good reason! When toasted, the bagels are crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. To this day, I've had two sweet and two more savory combinations from Fancy Bagel. The first sweet one was a cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese--a classic flavor pairing. What really makes this typical combo a standout is the excellent texture of the bagel. The other sweet pairing I've had is their sweet cinnamon bagel with cake batter cream cheese. Sweet cinnamon is great, with cinnamon and sugar granules sprinkled atop, and cake batter is a novel flavor and comes in a fun blue shade. The first time I had this combination, it was too sweet for my liking, but the times I ordered it after that, I was a huge fan. I think this one really depends on individual preference, and if you find it too sweet, I would recommend wiping off the excess cream cheese. The first savory bagel I got from here was a garlic lox bagel. It had a hearty garlic flavor, and I enjoyed the chewy bagel texture. The second savory combination I tried was the Asiago bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. This was great, except I wasn't a fan of the bacon. It was too burnt-tasting and crunchy for my liking. They have other meat options though, so next time I might try sausage or the like. read more

Pls oh pls talk to your staff, their customer service skills are awful! For the amount of ppl you have working you should be able to get in and out in less than 10 mins, It usually takes 15-20. I think I have a new addiction. This is my favorite bagel place hands down. The bagels are light and when toasted, have a great crisp while staying soft on the inside. I really like that the staff do not skimp on cream cheese and because these bagels are so light, I think the more cream cheese, the better. I've tried a few bagels so far: cheddar, asiago, blueberry, and pumpkin. My go-to cream cheeses are the lox spread (has tiny bits of lox mixed. I wish there were more lox) and walnut raisin (my favorite!). All-in-all, if you're looking for a place for a quick bite and doesn't break the bank, stop here. The bagel with cream cheese is about $3. Plus they have an assortment of drip coffee for $2 for a medium cup. I haven't tried the coffee but the other reviews give it a thumbs up. read more

They make a great breakfast sandwich here. I like to get the sausage, egg and cheese on an Everything bagel. They cook the eggs and sausage fresh on a griddle. Their bagels and sandwiches are fresher then anything you can get at Dunkin Donuts and like DD you can get a breakfast sandwich anytime of the day. read more

I have gone five times, at different times. Every single time I've asked for tomato on my egg sandwich, and they never get it right. Last time I asked if there was tomato when I went to pay, cashier says "I'm sure there is". I responded with "Really? You haven't gotten it correct the last 3 weeks. Please check." She said she didn't need to check. So I left...and sure enough, no tomato. The girls running it are just too young to handle that type of crowd. You wait forever to order while four girls are just kind of standing behind the counter looking confused. Sadly, I can't go back. They need to improve service big time. read more

The golden bagel here is to die for! I like their service it's always nice and courteous their prices as well are good with no complaints. Another note their drinks are good too just be sure to get something other than the coffee it does not pack any sort of punch at all. read more

Wow...I've lived right near here for 4 months...why did I wait so long to try it? They carry my favorite Egg Bagel, and its absolutely delicious. Soft and chewy inside, with a nice crunch to the outside when lightly toasted. Have also tried the Sweet Cinnamon bagel. It has just the perfect amount of sweet cinnamon flavor to it, and like the egg bagel is nice and soft and chewy in texture. I'm looking forward to sampling more things here. The staff is courteous and the bagels taste fresh-however, I have asked each time for the bagels to be toasted-and each time they appear not to be. If your looking for a quick morning breakfast of a delicious lunch Fancy Bagles is the place to go. The staff is very friendly and the bagels are delicious. They have a wide selection of bagels and use quality meats from Boar's Head. My favorite is a Plain Bagel toasted with Egg and Sausage. Best of all the bagels are priced aggressively (cheaper than some franchised places depending on what you get). My advise; give it a try; you won't be disappointed. I used to go to the one in Southington but since I moved the Farmington location is right near me and it's just as great. Best bagels around, How they can get them so crunchy on the outside while still so soft on the inside I don't understand. Huge bagel variety, huge breakfast and lunch sandwich variety, huge cream cheese variety, huge and unique hot and iced coffee variety. Not to mention it's all so cheap in price. There's something for everyone here, good vibes, the workers take pride in the store and loyal customers, just go here and see what I'm talking about.
