Had a wonderful afternoon with my mom. We love high tea and this did not disappoint. So many interesting teas to choose. I had the dirty chai! And my mother had the Kettle Corn. Everywhere you turn there are tea cup and saucer, life size cut out of Queen Elizabeth, all sorts of tea treats that can be purchased and a ton of pink!! The scones and tea bread were delicious. The assortment of tea sandwiches were just the right size and great flavors. I especially enjoyed the bacon and scallion one. Ending with a nice assortment of treats hit the spot. While I have been to some much more expensive (and pretentious) teas both in Boston and Chicago, 'Fancy That' in Walpole, is better than them all! We go to "Fancy That" tea house as often as we can! It's an incredible experience. There are 3 of us, representing 3 generations (no children). We are always welcomed warmly by Brad and Sarah, who makes sure that all of our needs are met. They have an expansive tea selection and the sandwiches and other sweet goodies are to die for! It's very relaxing. They also sell teas and other offerings that aren't usually found elsewhere. We look forward to seeing them soon! read more

Wish I could give more stars. Fancy That is so charming. The tea menu is extensive, and our choices were perfect. I had Sugar Plum Fairy, and my daughter chose the lemon curd. We also added some mulled wine sangria. Food was scones, tea cake, tea sandwiches and sweets. Best chicken salad I've ever tasted, and the turkey with mayo with black truffles was wonderful. The desserts were divine - hot chocolate mini cupcakes, cotton candy macarons and chocolate peppermint parfaits. It was my daughter's birthday, and there was a "crown" on top of her teacup. This is just a great experience in a lovely setting . My daughter reserved this as a Mother's Day gift and we enjoyed a lovely tea luncheon on a recent Thursday. The hostess and waiter are knowledgeable and personable and the setting is perfect! We had a window seat in the front room which was delightfully bright and cheery with crystal and pink chandeliers and beautifully set tables. There is a huge selection of teas, all three of us enjoyed our selections. Then our luncheon was served. Delicious raspberry white chocolate scones with clotted cream of course! Also a small slice of blueberry bread. Our sandwich selection equaled on full sandwich and featured cucumber with chive cream cheese on a country white, a chicken salad with raisins and a caprese filling in tomato basil bread. All were delicious and filing. The final layer of our tea server was a trio of yummy confections: a blueberry macaroon, a mini strawberry shortcake and finally a mini red velvet cupcake. What a special afternoon! I've had tea in London and this was as authentic as they come. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to return soon read more

If I could give this place 6 stars, then I would! I visited yesterday for the first time. My family and I were greeted at the door by one of the owners, who welcomed us and escorted us to our table. The place smelled WONDERFUL! When I asked what the smell was, I was told that it was the birthday scones being baked freshly for the day! Fancy That is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. When you compare the Fancy That tea room to the tea room up the street in Foxboro, there is really no comparison. The owners are so friendly and charming, clearly invested in their business and ensuring that the guests have a great experience. It can be hard to get a reservation, especially for a large group, but Sarah will do her best to get you in. So plan ahead. Tea selection is large, pastries are really good, especially the scones with authentic Devonshire clotted cream. (That's the way to spot a true English tea from the wanna bes.) High Tea Service is one of my favorite things to do. Fancy That is the tea house of tea houses! Personalized service from Sarah and Brad, with an extraordinary setting. Vintage Victorian in modern times. The food is carefully thought out, and always a sandwich of the month. Dessert of the month. Carefully crafted recipes, and tea is always served steeped with a cozy. There may be 30+ teas to choose from at any time. The setting is just amazing, as you are surrounded by the gift shop - always well stocked with tea, and accompanying delights. Compote, sugar cubes. Real clotted cream for your scone!! Your setting is vintage china. Sarah stated out renting china for weddings and showers before starting the tea house. I have been to other high tea services in MA. The charm and effort of Fancy That is simply outstanding. I live an hour away, and we have tea 2-3 times a year. The experience is unique, fun, and Sarah and Brad's charm make one feel right at home. Read and heard so many reviews that I was very excited to head down to Walpole. We walked in and were enamored with the lovely ambience. We were somewhat taken aback by our welcome from Brad , who appears to be the significant other of the lovely owner whom we met later. He was gruff and appeared annoyed at how we went on about the quaintness of the tea room. We were quickly ushered into a private room. Service from Brad was slow and frankly, annoying. He never smiled and was somewhat sarcastic. There's a bell on the table and we rarely rang it for service. When we did, Brad appeared annoyed when he finally appeared. Several times, he came in and asked if we had rung the bell when we had not. Bottom line, if you go, ask for someone other than Brad to serve you. He could have ruined our time but we did not allow him to. The food was not as spectacular as we'd heard, pricing is reasonable, the owner is lovely and the ambience is excellent. read more

My friends and I got a few weird stares from other customers because we were dressed up but the owner said why not have tea in style? I treated my mom to a tea date here as a birthday gift. She's been an empty nester now for a while (I am the youngest of my siblings) so quality time is definitely a better gift than a new sweater or necklace. The ambiance is beautiful. It's exactly what tea parties you have with your toys as a kid look like in your imagination. Gorgeous table settings, and decor. You can tell they're using a lovingly curated collection of china. The tea menu is enormous and very descriptive. Each person gets their own pot so there's no debating which one you each want to order. I liked mine enough (Smitten, a house blend) that I bought a tin of tea leaves to bring home with me. They serve a huge tiered tray of pastries and snacks that were wonderful (and very filling). We're both savory people, so I did wish there'd been a few more of the sandwiches and not so many sweet options, but regardless, it was all delicious, and enough food we both brought some home. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive, without hovering. I also love that they expect you to linger and space reservations out quite a bit. We were seated at 2:30 and probably didn't leave until 5 but there was no pressure to leave more quickly. I thought the price was very reasonable as well. For two pots of tea and more food than we could eat, it was about $60 with tip for 2 people. While I wouldn't necessarily spend that every week, for a special occasion or celebration I was perfectly happy. read more

We called in reservations several weeks ahead of time, but it was well worth the wait! The free parking (with pink lines) was nice but the cute pink gift shoppe you enter into was even better. They had everything you could want or need for a proper tea: china, clotted cream, cozies all the way down to tiny spoons! But the best part was our private room nicely decorated with tea themed pictures and nicknacks. The gentleman who took our orders was knowledgable and well spoken. They had quite a selection to choose from. Our tea was served hot with sugar cubes (and milk on request) He brought over our food on a 3 tier tray with various finger sandwiches and sweets.
