Diane and Robin at Robin's birthday tea.

I've been to many high teas in Boston at fancy hotels at the Boston Public library and I can say that the high tea served at Fancy That is the best I have been to. The ambience is lovely. Sarah the owner who is also the baker is superb and the variety of tea themed items and teas in the gift shop is vast.

June is one of my favorite times to visit, since I get to be a princess for 90 minutes, as evidenced by my tiara, share my birthday month with the tea guy & enjoy his curated menu! Even the bathroom is fancy. It's pristine, beautifully decorated and the toilet paper is so soft, it's fit for the royalty that adorns their throne!

This place is getting 5 stars. There use to be a place here in NJ just like it, but it has since closed down so I was excited I got to go to a place like this again. The owners are the servers/host/hostesses. They are super friendly, appreciative and knowledgeable. This place is absolutely beautiful inside. Then again, I am obsessed with pink and this place was pink heaven for me. The menu is a set menu and changes every month it seems. It was $34 per person I believe as well, which doesn't include extras such as alcoholic beverages, etc. I'll be honest.. I have no idea what tea my husband and I ordered. All I know is that we both enjoyed it and my husband HATES tea. I dragged him to this place and this turned out to be his favorite place we went so that's saying something! For the menu we were served: We started out with Two Scones which was a gingerbread with lemon glaze with jam and English clotted cream and a cheddar and chive savory scone. The cheddar and chive scone reminded me of Red Lobster's biscuits. I could have had a whole tray of these. Then you get your sandwiches: 1) seedless cucumber with chive, onion and garlic cream cheese and a bit of feta 2) apricot jam & white raisin chicken salad 3) roast beef and boursin spread with fig, pear and honey jam. The cucumber sandwiches are always my favorite. I highly highly dislike chicken salad and roast beef. I ate it because it was part of the pre-set menu. I wound up loving them. They were delicious! Lastly was the mini desserts: 1) shot glass - cranberry chocolate 2) macaron: flavor of the day (which was pistachio) 3) bite sized cupcake: christmas sugar cookie flavor. Again, all delicious but my favorite was the Cranberry Chocolate shot glass. It was like a chocolate brownie base with a Cranberry Mousse on top. This place is a gem and would highly highly recommend and if I am ever back in Massachusetts, I will stop by for sure! I booked this about a month or two in advance and it is recommended. This place has VERY few tables so make sure to book it ahead of time.

The service here is absolutely great! From the moment you walk in, you almost travel back time with the decor. I was most certainly thrilled to see the wide selection of tea that they offered and how generous they were with the serving as well. I definitely would recommend coming down with a friend or two and enjoying some tea with some light bites.

Inflation sucks, so the price increased to $34/person (compared to $26 when I originally reviewed 5 years ago). Fancy That is still fantastic and living further away I still am willing to drive out of my way to meet friends for this unforgettable and indulgent experience! I'm so glad they have adapted and survived through the pandemic. Actually they are still super popular so I had some difficulty when trying to look for reservations back in February for March needing to book out into April on a Monday holiday that not everyone has off, after realizing I accidentally originally booked Easter. So expect at 1-2+ month booking period if you are looking for weekend dates. I remember during 2020 for our anniversary, my SO and I picked up to go boxes for the tea and order. I needed to dig up my own tea pots and it was not the same! Also when comparing Fancy That to another High Tea place north of Boston the pricing is about the same since they are ~$30 but they give you the option of purchasing the same size container of clotted cream for extra $3. I love that they have their own small rooms and alcoves. I more often than not in a party of 2-4 end up in the pretty "Pink Room". I love that they are constantly rotating out their tea menu. Most recently I tried the Earl Grey Poolside which was an exclusive. I love a refreshing take on the black tea! "black tea with bergamot, shredded coconut, pineapple bits, safflowers, flavouring, yellow pineapple shaped sprinkles (artificial color)". Other Teas I've tried Paris   black and oolong teas, black currant, vanilla and caramel flavour and bergamot. Downton Abbey® English Rose   hibiscus*, rosehip peels, apples, stevia, rose petals, natural raspberry, natural rose and vanilla flavours. It's always such a treat enjoying their vast array of delicious teas paired with their tasty menu of savory and sweet snacks! Apparently if you prepay online you can get $1 off too I'll have to try that for next time.

Such a cute hidden gem in Walpole! I love coming here!Everything is so cute and PINK! Their afternoon tea is lovely and reminds me of high tea in London. If you want to make a reservation you should plan about a month or so in advance because they book up quick! My friend and I try to come here every few months to catch up and enjoy tea time. The staff is great! Very friendly and personable.

This place is probably a little girl's fantasy tea party. I felt like I was a little too old to be here and it's so pink everywhere! Heads up, make sure to plan well in advance and make sure everyone plans on showing up. We had a couple flake out on us and the management was gracious enough to slightly lower the cost, but we still had to pay extra for that reservation. They have a huge selection of teas, so you should definitely come with a group or come for multiple times to try them all. The pastries and sandwiches won't fill you up, but they are definitely high quality. This is definitely the spot in Walpole to be! Staff is really nice and didn't trip over and break the highly stacked plates like in those comedy movies. Good for Instagram if you like a pink filter

Beautiful room to enjoy your tea!

I took my Mom to a cute place called "Fancy That". This was actually her Mother's Day present from me. I tried to book closer to Mother's Day, but this place books up very quickly, so it was just as well that we went today. It's a Fancy tea room(s) where we enjoyed our own pots of tea. Different flavors for each of us. I love the fact that they use spring water to make it because it makes such a huge difference. They also had bowls of sugar, but they were actual lumps of sugar like you would find in England! I got English Breakfast Tea - Classic and delicious Mom got Unicorn Bliss - It was a green tea that was a strawberry blend. DELICIOUS! We also enjoyed scones, tea (cucumber) sandwiches and sweets. I tried clotted cream and English jam for the first time! Every detail was PERFECT! I felt like I was in England! I even got a Tiara to celebrate my (belated) birthday. I could not stop looking at something that I would describe it as a snow globe because it was so glittery and so beautiful. I've actually included a video of it. I love anything glitter.! We met the owners of this place Sarah and her husband, Brad. They was so lovely! Very helpful and so polite! There was beautiful music streaming in to our room, accentuenting the atmosphere. There are tables and hutches scattered about with items to purchase- everything from tea to souvenirs. The details are just incredible!! We had the following: 2 Scones Sweet Scone: Lemon Poppy with jam and English clotted cream and a cheddar and chive savory scone 4 Tea Sandwiches seedless cucumber with chive, onion and garlic, cream cheese and a bit of feta (2) apricot jam & white raisin chicken salad ham with white cheddar, mayo and orange apricot chutney 3 Mini Desserts Shot glass dessert carrot cake Chocolate macaron Bite sized cupcake: Almond Rainbow Cookie almond cake, chocolate frosting, strawberry jam center I highly recommend this beautiful place! Fancy that - Located in Walpole, MA (reservations are required). There is a 90 minute time limit so my advice is to get there a few minutes early, and you will be seated right on time and you will have an hour and a half to enjoy such fun food and a great atmosphere. Trust me when I said, 90 minutes was way more than enough time to enjoy it all. We actually left a little bit earlier to avoid traffic, but I love the fact that we did not feel rushed, and we were well taken care of. Grab your favorite girl, and treat her to this one-of-a-kind experience!

In celebration of my beloved friend's soon to be wedding, a group of us six joined here for an afternoon spot of tea. I came in with no expectations, as Id never done high tea before (or been in this side of the state/horse pastures on route?! ..doesn't take much to impress me, I guess) First of all. Im not a dainty gal (bjj more my thing) but I did Love the complete set up. Perhaps it revealed to me that there's still a little girl inside who loves pink after all. Onto the review -- 1. Host/Hostess (Service) Brad and Sarah are the hosts. Great balance of a duo. Brad is humorous, authentic, a gentlemen in the best modern sense. Sarah is kind-spirited, extremely attentive, and like the neighbor you want to bring a pie to because she makes your day. 2. Ambiance Just look at all the previous review pics below. No need to say more but that every detail has been accounted for. And to me (as an artist who tends to stray from artificial decor) all my senses did not scream "kitschy" during the entire experience. It seems pink holiday decor meets Americanized version of British tea can indeed be done quite tastefully. 3. Food So Im an "eat with your eyes & stomach" (quality & quality) type of gal. When I heard this was a high tea gathering, I planned to Really eat when I got home because they'd feed us like chickadees. I was pleasantly proven wrong. The sandwiches are mini, along with the carefully planned out pastries. And maybe it was because I normally inhale my food at work. Slowing down to chat, actively listen, laugh, take in all the delicate visual pampering all around me, then savoring each bite somehow convinced my system that.. I was Full. (well Theres a life lesson I should carry into the new year) I hear this place gets booked Fast. If you plan on a mothers day or ladies time out kinda thing, be sure to book ahead. Parking might require a bit of maneuvering if traffic is heavy and you're coming in from the other side of the street, but we had little difficulty because of the time of day. What a marvelous experience. Thank you, Brad & Sarah for allowing us to feel worth it

Such a magical place!!!! We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday and it couldn't have been better!!! It was there first time at high tea and they were so looking forward to it! It was hard to get reservation so we reserved 2 months in advanced! Under the note section, I did note that it is a birthday celebration and we got a cute private room just for us!! Everything was amazing!!

When our tea came we did not even have napkins or spoons to stir the tea; the place had only one server for a holiday and everyone in the restaurant was waiting an extremely long time. I wound up getting up from our table to get our spoons, knives, and napkins from a stand I saw because we weren't being paid attention to. The food itself was pretty measly. Would never ever return. Very bad experience.

I heavily regret to say this was the worst experience ever in Tea Service!…read more We arrived here promptly at 10:00 AM as it was the only availability for Mother's Day. Firstly, I wasn't entirely thrilled about the tacky decor with peeling wallpaper. I understand they were trying to be vintage and eclectic, but it looked very cheesy to me as mismatched, teapots and plates and cups was displayed for a yard sale. On top of it they had very dirty filmy water glasses on the table which is very interesting considering we're there for tea. Why on earth would you have bottled water in Tea service? I requested another glass so our server literally picked the other glass from another table which was equally if not more filmy. Here's the most annoying part. We were there on time at 10 o'clock and there were two other parties that came literally 5 to 10 minutes after we were seated. What I don't understand is these two other parties had their tea and tea plates first and we are literally sitting there with the tea we ordered without anything to eat. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed, unnecessarily considering it wasn't crazy busy with a line out the door on the contrary, there were a couple of empty tables. There was no real reason for us to wait for our food. We waited for a good 20 minutes. We did not complain at all, but our server knew that we weren't happy based on my husband's very hungry expression and my silence. She however, apologized voluntarily about the wait and said "Sorry for the wait ...as you can see we're quite overwhelmed". When our tea tower finally came, it looked fine except we were missing the two scones. She never checked up on us and when we flagged her down regarding our missing scones. She comes back with the two ugliest scones ever one tiny one and one larger one. I was trying to not think that this was a personal vendetta. If this person was properly trained, they would know that if we're waiting, you should put two extra stones to make up for the horrible experience.. now honestly she was an older woman (who am I kidding? We're probably same age) so I felt very bad for her for some reason. There was no reason for any issues honestly, how hard is it for anyone to plate pastries and tea sandwiches on a plate??? it shouldn't take long. I have gone to many Tea services in Boston ( like The Courtyard) and even the Vintage Tea House in Lexington, which I believe might be the same company. So what happened? Different ownership? The restroom is equally bad and this entire place needs a serious upgrade. We left without any acknowledgment or goodbyes, which also confirmed the lack of warmth here. I want to be clear that it is not my best interest to put down any small businesses. On the contrary I am a big promoter of smaller businesses. But unfortunately, I know my teaware, Teas, bites, and proper service. This establishment could be top notch. If you look like looking for an upscale experience where you can have bridal showers or any celebratory occasions I would recommend other places. If you are more casual, then this place would be more appropriate. I think I overdressed for the occasion.
