I'm biased how to rate this place. I love their pizza and especially their Taco Pizza! Came here for several years with a group of friends and we commonly had Taco pizza. They used to have half-price pizza days (Monday's) and their menu still say that (hmm ??) but stopped doing this recently as our waitress said. The pizza was still great - but how can you explain to charge $46 for a 16" thin crust Taco pizza ? That used to be $36 ($18 half priced)? Less margin for hitz ownership on drinks for Hitz as regulars come in less often with all the penny pinching moves. Remove rewards, stop half price pizza, add credit card up charge, add premium liquor no one orders, raise prices dramatically, and keep food quality and value as just so-so. Since new (Corporate Management) took over - it's a totally different place. Rude, weak drinks, food not any better than fast food. New staff that have some in to make this once hometown favorite a total disaster. No room whatsoever if sitting at the bar. At a dining table, service is uncaring and unprofessional. We had an excellent experience coming here for the first time. We actually came on a Tuesday hoping there would be bad bingo (as seen on their website), but no such luck. However, they did have all you can eat pizza (one topping) which a decent amount of tables seemed to enjoy. I had their taco pizza (massive) and my table had a variety of things ranging from tots, to salads, to sandwiches. Everything was tasted great. The best part of this place was the service and ambiance. The service was like you walked into your family's home. The waiter was sooooo kind and I didn't feel rushed to order, to eat, or leave. Last night, I had the best thin crust cheese pizza of my life from here (I feel like Portnoy doing a cheese pizza review). My husband and his family have been coming here for years. We love bingo Tuesdays with Scott. We also love the service and the food. Staff is always so nice. My only request is to make bigger batches of the soups. We tried both the chicken dumpling soup and tomato soup once and it was absolutely our favorite soups. We usually come straight from work and by the time we get there anywhere from 6:30pm-7pm both soups are always gone. The music is mixed between classics and modern jams. Hitz is a wonderful local sports pub with quality food, lots of options, friendly service, plenty of screens for sports, and a great atmosphere welcoming friends, family, teams, and everyone in between! So let's talk about the food: in a word, everything we've had has been good. The pizza is fabulous, burgers are good, chicken sandwiches, good food all around. They have this spud deal where you can add whatever toppings you want. I love this! A ginormous potato, ground beef, cheese, bacon, peppers, and a crap-ton of black olives - delicious! And let's not forget the amazing beer nuggets appetizer - oh man! Major yum factor. My wife and I always start with these. And let's not forget the service. While we do frequent this sports bar on a fairly regular basis, it's not so frequent where they would remember our names, but they do and always say hello and stop by to chat with us. Terrible customer service by a female server! Waited for someone to come to our table, be acknowledged and bring menus. Absolutely Terrible Experience! Our visit was a nightmare from start to finish. We were completely ignored and never took our initial order. Then, we found *two pieces of hair* in our food, which was disgusting enough, but it gets worse. A neighboring table had *a piece of fork in their food*. And when we brought this up to the manager, instead of addressing the issue professionally, they told us to just leave because they'd "take care of it." We leave. Then, out of nowhere, they *called the police on us*! It was completely unnecessary and over-the-top. This was by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Our experience at Hitz was absolutely awful. I don't say this lightly--please avoid giving them any business. Not only did our server neglect to inform us that the pizza oven was broken, but the salad we ordered also had several long hairs in it. Jeff, the manager, treated us with extreme disrespect and, rather than taking responsibility, he blamed us for the hairs. After we raised our concerns about the unsanitary food, another manager offered to cover our bill and asked us to leave. To our disbelief, she later lied to her boss, claiming we had left without paying, and they had the audacity to call the police! The police even showed up at our home because of the manager's lie to cover up her earlier commitment to pay our bill. Eight witnesses, including other customers, can confirm that the manager promised to take care of it. What a way to celebrate my mother's birthday--with the police involved at a restaurant we had trusted for years. They will certainly lose a lot of business and their ties to our local community because of this. read more

Local bar with the local crowds of Mundelein and Vernon Hills. There's 2 section (restaurant vibes and bar vibes with TVs) plus a small room for slots. Our server was very nice and when we ordered didn't even write down what we order. She had it memorize which really impressive. You can tell she's pretty damn good at her job. All our order came out correctly. Food is okay. Nothing special but bar food. Pizza with sausage and mushroom - extra crispy cause my husband likes it well done, thin crust. Fried mushroom - well battered and seasoned. Probably one of my favorite place to get fried mushrooms. BBQ Beef sandwich (on a French Roll) - came with fries and coleslaw. I requested the BBQ sauce on the side because sometime BBQ sauce can be too sweet for my liking and the one at Hitz was a little too sweet. I add hot peppers on the side which went well since it was a roast beef sandwich with bacon and cheddar cheese. Pretty good sandwich. I would get again. Walked into this strip mall restaurant with few expectations, we were in the area and figured we'd try it for lunch. They had a local beer on tap from Tighthead Brewery, which tasted very fresh. The cheese curds came with ranch and marinara (bonus). The pizza, sausage and green peppers, was excellent with a thin crispy crust. To top it off the pizzas were half price for lunch on Thursday. They deliver quickly each time, but prices are a bit high. $25 for a 16" before toppings with each additional topping costing $1.5-$2.50, the cost of a pie can climb quickly. The winds out of the west were blowing those good pizza smells my way so since I had never been there, my after golf plan was to stop in for a thin pizza and I'm so happy I did. I found a seat at the bar and ordered a bottle of Miller High Life which was ice cold, and a 18 inch thin pizza. I'm thinking leftovers folks. Well the friendly bartenders both who introduced themselves, tell me it's half price pizza on Mondays but not for the 18 incher so I ordered an 16 inch instead, with sausage and meatballs. Still plenty of leftovers for sure. The pizza arrived at my bar seat hot as hell, no doubt straight of the oven. Who doesn't love that! It was great! Super thin and crispy and loaded with sausage and meatball slices. One other thing to note was that the ice cold bottles of MHL were half price as well. My bill for two beers and a 16 inch pizza was $16.50 with tax! What a deal!! Needless to say I will be back. For this visit I have to go five stars for the service, the food and the value. read more

Service was extremely slow burgers were greasy and after we spent $250 someone at our table asked for a little cup of ranch dressing to finish her salad and we were told we had to be charged for it. On top of that the waitress who was very slow took it upon herself to add an 18% gratuity to a bill I know that's standard in upscale restaurants didn't know so in a dive like this.
