    Peking duck
    Linny L.

I always order Peking duck to go from Taipei Cafe, it is not 100% authentic but good enough. The sauce is straight to the point, but the wrap is more like a tortilla instead of the flat bread for Peking duck. If you take it home and reheat it with air fryer, the duck skin becomes crunchy. And they get rid of the fatty part so the duck doesn't have the stinky flavor. The dining area is pretty small, but clean! They have a big round table, and couple small tables, their seat might be limited.

Salted fish and chicken fried rice
    Buddha N.

So decided to eat in and wanted something near by so tried out Taipei Cafe and definitely was not disappointed. These are not on the menu items but definitely call to order it Salted fish and chicken fried rice - very good and not overly salty like other places and rice was cooked perfectly Salt and pepper fish filet - nice fry and nicely seasoned and delicious Salted Egg Yolk Lava ribs - subtle salted egg yolk flavor but definitely yummmy Definitely going to try other items

Spicy beef tendon hotpot & general Tsos
    Samantha W.

Came here for the first time and so glad we did. We got the general Tsos chicken. It was delicious and had a small kick. We also got the spicy beef tendon hotpot. This was delicious. It is the middle of summer but I imagine this tasting very good in the winter as well. The service was great. Our waitress was very sweet and fast. The ambiance is a little bit like a hole in the wall but that's what makes it so great!

Fish fillets in sour soup, little spicy

Good fresh dishes really tasty, it's a small restaurant but clean, near the Morrisville shopping center and open at 11am earlier than the other Chinese restaurant.

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! The owner/ manager ( not sure which) went out of his way to tell us that next time make sure to order it chilled . Since we're from New England, we weren't familiar with shrimp cocktail like this. No problem at all. This visit when we placed our order and asked our server for chilled shrimp cocktail, we noticed , I'm assuming the manager/owner standing by the kitchen and he asked the server if we we had ordered it cold and then rolled his eyes ......clearly showing his disdain. So I guess Legal Seafood in Boston and even the fantastic waterfront restaurant we ate at recently in Beaufort seem to know it's very much a thing eating it chilled. All that said we decided not to put a dinner order in and requested the check. The server however, was very sweet and efficient , but the guy walking the place with his tablet was pretty rude. We didn't have this experience at the Cape Fear located in Cameron Village. Tonight's experience at the Apex location left a bad taste in our mouth, so to speak.

I'm not sure I'd get them again, but not because they weren't good, but because they were too salty for me and after the third bite, it was too much. If that's not an issue for you, then these would be a win. Along with the those, I picked up about a half-pound of the fresh shrimp. The fish and shrimp are in coolers and they weigh them on the spot. The nice thing is being able get them in the amount that works for you -- even by the individual shrimp or by the scallop. It feels like a great spot for a date night, cocktails, or a slower dinner where you want the setting to feel a little elevated. We had the wagyu flat iron, cowboy pork chop, charred Brussels sprouts, and duck fat potatoes. The pork chop was the standout on the food side. It was flavorful, well-cooked, and had a good char. The wagyu, unfortunately, was not as tender or flavorful as I expected, especially for the price point, but the chimichurri helped a lot and brought the dish together. The Brussels sprouts were good, with nice texture and flavor. The potatoes were average to me, not bad at all, but not something I would necessarily rush back for. The cocktails were definitely a highlight. I had the barrel rested Vieux Carré, which was smooth and balanced, and the Bourbon Bramble was also very good. Both drinks felt well-made and matched the overall vibe of the restaurant. Overall, I would definitely go back, especially for the atmosphere, cocktails, and a date-night type of experience. The food was good overall, but for me the vibe and drinks were the main reason to return.
