I came here for a late lunch and was able to get a lunch special. There are many options to choose from both at lunch and the regular menu. I was greeted right away and my order was taken quickly. The restaurant is small but there are tables for 2 and 4 people inside and lots of nice tables outside. I got the shrimp with mixed vegetables and fried rice. Wow, I was so surprised! I usually add soy sauce to my Chinese, but this dish didn't need it at all. There was an amazing amount of shrimp and nice veggies and the fried rice was not dry and tasted great. I was craving Chinese food while shopping in Brier Creek so decided to get takeout here before heading home. I placed my order on their website while I finished up shopping and the food was ready when I got to the restaurant. The restaurant is a bit tight due to it's long/rectangular shape, but they do have seating inside (and outside) if you want to eat there. The Szechuan Chicken was more sweet than spicy, but it tasted good (I would add hot chili oil if I got it again). The General Tso's Chicken was a little dry and not as good as other restaurants in the area. The Chicken with Curry Sauce was perfectly spicy and tasty, but I thought the fried rice it came with was really dry. Overall, the food was OK and the service was nice. Went to get take out a couple of times, so far each time had been great and what was expected. There's a few different entrances and although it's not appealing to look out from the outside or while you're inside, the food is great! With both orders that we got each time it only took about 15 minutes to prepare. The first time we got Triple delight with a small side of beef lo mein, both were excellent! The next time we got triple in garlic sauce, chicken lo mein, egg drop soup, and shrimp fried rice. The shrimp fried rice was a little dry but everything else was again good. The moment you walk in the door the first thing you will notice is the menu pictures. They are all faded and you can't even see the images of the dishes. Those images are so faded you can't read anything on them. The front counter was cludered with all sorts of papers and 'things' on the night I visited. The staff member who took my order was friendly and helpful. They have great pricing. I asked for the veggie fried rice and it was good. It took the cooks about 10 minutes to prepare my meal. Dead cockroach in the kung pao chicken take-out.... We ordered takeout that included Kung Pao chicken and a few other entrees and sides. Before finishing a portion of the kung pao, I saw a weird object lying in the slurry of chicken, veggies, and sauce. When moving everything away, a dead cockroach appeared. Of course, this resulted in a loss of appetite and disgust for everyone eating the meal. We called the restaurant to inform them and to ask for a refund. Their immediate response was to only refund the kung pao chicken entree. After we said that was unacceptable because who know what could be in the other food or the cleanliness of their kitchen, they told us to bring back all of the food in order to receive a full refund, which we did. When arriving and seeing the bug, they were nice and apologized. Hopefully we don't get sick from what we ate and there weren't more bugs were in the food. On my most recent visit this past Sunday, I was actually surprised to be met with a "hi, can I help you?" from the woman behind the counter. Usually she's much more rude and to the point (by saying "what do you want?") but again customer service is not the reason you come... its the overly fried but cheap chinese food, which they deliver on. I would give them an extra star IF they stepped up their fried rice game. I'm always so disappointed with their fried rice being so bland and dry. Of course you can always mask that flavor with sauces, but that's not the point. Their General Tso's chicken is always consistent and good which keeps me coming back. I've also enjoyed their sesame chicken. Egg rolls are really crispy on the outside but bland on the inside, meh. To give an idea on their prices, the combination plates are usually around $7-$8; that's a meat, pork fried rice and pork egg roll. I'd say their prices are cheap in comparison to what's nearby but pretty average for Chinese take out. I've never ordered a drink but they have bottled drinks (no fountain drinks). Also, I would not recommend dining in... I noticed on this past visit, a bunch of raw garlic piled up on one table in the dining area with a bag and knife... Just laying there unattended. Pretty sure whoever was handling the garlic got busy and forgot about the garlic. But I'm left wondering if the garlic should even be prepped in the dining area?? Not sure about the story on that... But if you live in the brier creek area and desire the cheap and easy take-out Chinese food, this is your place--but don't expect more than your average experience or else you'll be disappointed. read more

The service was fast, the customer service was excellent. They were very nice and personable. The food was fresh and abundant! The crab Rangoon is so good. We got a pu pu platter for two and it was all tasty. My daughter had sesame chicken and she said it was way too much food but it was so good. The shrimp fried rice was packed full of shrimp, and has this really delicious smoky type flavor. We will definitely order food there again. When I went to Great China the other day, I ordered the pepper chicken lunch special. After driving 40 minutes back home, I sat down to eat my meal with my child. Next thing you know my kid starts choking on a chunk of plastic. Obviously we were upset and we wanted a refund. I called the place back and the woman starts stating that they go by Walmart's standards when it comes to refunds... so basically she wanted me to drive 40 minutes back for a takeout order when I had already thrown away the food. Like come on seriously... we were absolutely outraged. She never once apologized about there being a random piece of plastic in the meal. Never once did I receive good service even in the restaurant after I had already paid for my food the server asked if I wanted any sauces. I said I wanted white sauce and he told me it was 50 cents. This is what a take-out place should be. I walked in at 6 p.m. and was out in less than 20 minutes with a dinner for two. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a take-out place. Fried wontons and egg rolls were a little greasier than I would have liked, but still crispy. Orange chicken was perfect, not artificially sweet or orangey. General tso could have had a little more spice to it for my liking, but probably a crowd-pleasing heat level. Really looking forward to trying more of the menu. So here goes my review for probably the worst Chinese place ever, dare I say worse than Mr. Chow's? I'm quite sure that Chow Mein means noodles pan fried with a bunch of stuff. For those who disagree feel free to message me and prove me wrong. Anyway, I ordered the house special chow mein and what I got was soupy stir fry with veggies and all the goods. NO NOODLES. I called and the lady said she gave me fried noodles separately, I look and see fried wontons (see picture), not noodles. We went back to show her that we received wontons not noodles. The lady at the register showed nothing but rudeness at being inconvenienced with the person's order before me, my order, and the orders she took on the phone. She was constantly interrupting people and talking to them like she thought they were idiots. There is a difference when there is an obvious language barrier and someone speaks slowly. This was not that. It was, "I-don't-have-time-for-your-stupidity-hurry-up" tones. Now the food... Not even mall Chinese food quality. The General Tso's Chicken had very little meat; and what meat there actually was, was covered in a spongey batter that had the taste and texture of something sitting in grease under a hot lamp for a long period. The fried wontons were inedible. The fried outside was more like eating a raw noodle. It was extremely hard and tasteless. Great China is good for what it is. If you're looking for some incredible culinary experience then go somewhere else. I go here when I'm in the mood for some cheap Chinese food. No frills just some soy sauce. I typically get their chicken wings and fried rice. I've tried other things (general tsos, sesame, etc.) however they aren't what I prefer from here. I usually have the craving for cheap Chinese on a Friday night. It's usually a pretty steady crowd of people in there. If you just want some Chinese food with average expectations go here. All of the bad reviews on this restaurant don't know what's up. This is some of the best roast pork lo mein in the area (I mean, this is NC after all...). This is a favorite staple of quick, easy, no-fuss Chinese takeout. Love the crispiness of the sweet and sour chicken and the flavors of the Mongolian beef are strong and smokey in a good way. My parents love the egg foo young and gravy, as well as the broccoli and shrimp. This place is consistent and reliable. Went here to get the house special chow mein for my girlfriend. They gave me the house special but without any noodles. They tried to pass off that two bags of wontons were fried noodles but they were clearly wontons. I even ate one......not even close to being a fried noodle.
