This is only place I will get a breakfast burrito. It's so good. Very big too. I can only eat half and save the other half for later. French toast were on point. I love coming here. Today they were shorthanded so when dining in I had to get my own food. Normally someone brings it to the table. Not an issue. It's always nice and quiet inside. Got to watch the soccer game there today. Thank you FANTASTIC!!!

Came in today after a doctor's appointment and we were hungry for breakfast. This is our first time here, this location has a drive thru. Today we came inside.... At first glance the place looked like it was busy.... Lots of available seating but it seems like no one picks offer them selves. Most of the tables were dirty ( empty ones) full of left over food. No one was cleaning. Service was normal, but my food was good. I would be back (maybe) if I am close by.

I love this place. Just a slice of Americana with everything from breakfast burritos, to pastrami burgers, to gyros. Now, if that is not a melting pot of American food, then I don't know what is. I got the Gyro plate dinner and it came with onion rings, fries, and a side salad and I selected blue cheese dressing. All for $15! I got so full. I'm a big guy and I can eat a lot and I couldn't finish it. I had lunch ready for the next day. Not the best gyro in the world, but a really decent gyro with all the sauces, onions, tomato that you would expect. And you just can't beat the amount of food for the price you pay. Lots of value, very friendly customer service, and a lot of open dining room space to eat, Fantastic Burgers is still a solid choice in Long Beach.

    A flattened DELUXE burger combo

It starts with service. About 10 people, were eating inside. Cashier look uninterested when i walked up. I spoke 1st, I said thank you. When my order was ready 5-8 min later, she didnt even look me in the face. When i said thank "just to see/hear her response" nothing. I get back to work to eat my $12 combo, my burger looked like it was ran over by a truck. This is my last time, supporting this place. Major thumbs down. Youre all FIRED!!!

And I was joined one of my favorite comedians! Fluffy!

The food was great. I really appreciated the help, everything was nice and I get the ocean breeze when sitting outside! Nice place

They expedite service so quickly they tend to get order incorrect, friendly but short. I was eating my breakfast sandwich and tasted a weird taste for a couple bites open up sandwich and the lettuce was rotten not from the heat but clearly rotten and still used, gross, I work in a restaurant and never serve something I wouldn't eat myself. Grossed out and for an $11 egg sandwich I expect better.

Bruh the chilli fries at this place are SOOOOOO GOOOD. I don't know why the reviews are so low. I have gotten these chili fries like...3 times a week since I moved to Long Beach and they're so good every time. One day I didn't have time to clock out to go to fantastic burgers... so, I DoorDashed Doublz chilli fries and they were so gross. I learned my lesson and I will drive my happy a** to fantastic burgers on my lunch break every time now because it's worth it.

So eager to dive into my nostalgic meal that I clumsily forgot to snap the photo til I'd demolished much of the meal!

Gather 'round, little Yelpers, as your favorite Elite Yelp correspondent takes you waaay back in time when he was a mere whipper-snapper, a wannabe Elite Yelper at San Pedro High School, circa 1986-88. Back then, Ronald Reagan sat in the Oval Office, NBC sitcoms Cheers and The Cosby Show ruled the boob tube and you could order the "Special Combo Plate" at Fantastic Cafe for only $3.65. That would getcha a ¼ pounder burger/cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, a salad and a large soft drink. You'd quaff one of those on your lunch break, and suddenly the prospect of AP Gov and AP Lit in fifth and sixth periods didn't seem sooo dreadfully unimportant! Guess what, kiddos? Fantastic Cafe, or like this location has rechristened itself, Fantastic Burgers, will still unspool this extraordinarily filling meal straight offve their sizzling hot plancha (flat top grill)...but it'll setya back $16.85 plus tax. My youngest son Brad & I were on our way back home when we hung a left onto Cherry from Wardlow when we both noticed the biig blue "Fantastic" letters calling to us. My three kids have HEARD enough stories of my halcyon high school days, that they all vividly recognize the NAME, even if none of em had tried it...til today! Brad and I both ordered the same special plate, hold the tomatoes, with salads drenched in thousand. The caliber of food is...good. Not hold onto your pillowcase and squeeze tight INCREDIBLE, but good. The burgers still have that uncanny char taste, the onion rings simply breaded in a thin, lacquered breading that shatters when you snap into them. But the unexpected STAR of our meal? The fries. Shocked to be writing that- Cause for 30+ years the Fantastic Cafe brethren of restaurants served steak fries...which I generally detest. Not so, anymore! Tonight's fries arrived as slender, golden brown stalks generously slathered with seasoned salt, dancing like Rockettes from the plate to our mouths! The salads were the duds of the meal. While the size and chilled temperature of the salads are still excellent, tonight's lettuce, carrots, tomato + cucumber arrived a wee overripe. The service is still very good- Fantastic encourages guests to leave their dirty dishes at the table and they'll even ferry your piping hot plate from plancha to table. Why not five stars? Because of the wonky salads and for violating a cardinal law of dessert. Lemme explain. Fantastic serves decadent Thrifty Drugs Ice Cream...which any longtime Los Angeleno will tellya is THE WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS of ice creams. But these jabronies are selling it for a ghastly $5.25/single scoop cone!! That's practically Baskin Robbins level of extortion!! Especially cuz Thrifty was famous for dishing out their delish cones for only $0.35/cone during my whipper-snapper days of high school then USC. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. Even now, I can still find Thrifty ice cream at Rite Aids for circa $1.85/scoop. So- For nearly tripling the go to price of my fave ice cream and serving "Reagan era" salads, Fantastic Burgers gets dinged one star. But otherwise? If you're feeling a wee malnourished, require some good ol' American carb-dense sustenance to stiffen your spine...then seize a Jackson and stroll into Fantastic for a meal that'll leave ya feeling rather, well, fantastic.

Stopped by Fantastic Burger for a classic cheeseburger and fries. Nothing fancy, just exactly what you want for a quick lunch.

Miso Greens Salad | I'm a salad girl and this is definitely a memorable bite! Between the juicy slices of mango, crispy wontons strips, red pepper, tangy miso dressing and more... I was craving each bite one after the other with the quickness! Haha! Every single bite and I'm not kidding, was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor, & mouth watering! I would 100% get the salad again and highly recommend it! Decor | Beautiful! What a stunning restaurant! We overtipped, to probably compensate for our last visit. However, the new kitchen manager has clearly changed the calamari (10/10 before, 3/10 now, to the point I felt embarrassed that I'd waxed poetic about it to my out of town guests, who didn't have more than a few pieces, and the ones I ate were just to kind of toe a line), and this is pedantic, but sesame buns for the sliders was a weird choice. So they're no longer on my shitlist, but I do think I'm going to need to try different go-tos. I'm almost scared to try the tuna tartare (my other go to) after the change in the calamari and sliders. I really so desperately urge management to bring back the former chef, because the current one really seems to expending the least effort possible. And for the record, there was a "specials" slip left on our table, with one of the items noted as "sold out." On a Monday, by 5p. Something is going wrong here. I'm going to try yet again, but the changes that have thus far been made absolutely suck. Ambiance still a 10/10.

It's right in Belmont and one neighborhood away from the water. Great date place and bar too. 2026 update: This breaks my heart. The menu has changed, the chef has definitely changed and service has unfortunately gone down. First off they cut a good portion of the menu and the physical design is not the easiest to read. (that's not really a problem tbh but it's something to note) What is the problem are the following: Ordering food for 3 took 20 minutes for servers to come, get food, and water + drinks we ordered. food took almost 45 minutes to arrive at the table. I get the kitchen makes a lot of stuff but this is crazy. at this point we were here for over an hour without eating. Not only were the orders wrong but also food portions were noticeably smaller. Credit due here, they fixed that (ofc which takes an extra time). Final straw here: To get someone's attention, get the bill, then for them to come get the bill, pay, and give us our cards back took: TWENTY MINUTES. Just to pay. tldr: food prices went up, staff not attentive, food still decent but different chef. Food is noticeably saltier. This place is still cute and servers as a great bar but oh my gosh has it gone down hill. Full context half the restaurant was empty. we are so disappointed. this place used to be great :(

We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious.
