Came here on 8/31 to get something to go. We are frequent customers . We parked and got off and the boss/ owner, a short man with glasses asked if I could move my car in a rude tone . I was confused so I asked what ? And he said this parking lot is for customers only? I am still confused because I was literally about to go in and buy something ?? I only stopped in my side so my dog can go potty . He could've asked in a much nicer tone which still wouldn't make sense because I was literally gonna buy something , or just not assume I wasn't a paying customer ? As a Long Beach resident I've eaten here before. I've had their chili fries, breakfast and sandwiches. All delicious. I decided to try their fried chicken dinner plate. The chicken was well made, tender and juicy but the batter was off. It tasted like oil. I was expecting actual dinner rolls but got toasty & buttery buns. I substituted onion rings for french fries. And yes they do charge extra. Onion rings were good except once again, the batter was off. Ranch is extra. I ordered two salads, a bacon cheeseburger, an order of fries and 2 orders of onions rings. $58 total. When I got home I was so dismayed that they are now serving half a salad and still charging full price! The picture does not do it justice because in person the portion looked very small. The audacity! This was a total turn off, and I will never come back again and I have been coming here since the 80's. It's one point to cut corners but to downsize your meals from your original portions and charge the same price is just cheating the customer. I did call the restaurant to vent my frustration. I told the girl I knew it wasn't her fault, but I was very shocked to open the container and see the portion change for the same salad that I have been buying. I asked her is this something new that you're doing now and she said yes, so you just lost a customer for good. She apologized and said I could come back and return the food and get a refund but I was not going to waste my gas and time. Never again! It pains me to write this .. I don't know if there's a new cook or not, but the chili cheese fries are not the same. It's a lighter color, not deeper brown it usually is. My friend bought us fries on a Sunday night in November, and the fries were uncooked, the chili lacked flavor, and wasn't as cheesy. It's like the cheese tastes different too, like it's another brand. The same thing happened again this past Monday night. We couldn't eat all of our fries because they weren't cooked all the way through. Overpriced. The price hikes on this place have been excessive. I understand there is an inflation, but this feels like a cash grab. Charging gourmet burger prices, for a run or the mill local burger joint seems like exploitative. I paid $61.00 for three chicken sandwiches combos with cheese regular size. Granted I upgraded one of the fries to onion rings but this price rendered a higher quality burger. The place also nickel and dimes its guest. I recently a salad and when I asked for more dressing they charged me 50 cents. It seems ridiculous to charge more for dressing on an item that actually requires it. I understand if it's a side to dip fries etc. but on an order of a salad seems stingy. My family have been coming for years but they've lost my business after these last couple experiences. For years we've put up with the drive-through lady with the glasses that never repeats an order and 80% of the time manages to get the order wrong. But I can't say it's worth it anymore. I don't know how this place will remain in business. This place used to be kind of place the community could count on to eat on a budget. Sadly it's not that anymore. This spot is a solid 3.5 star kinda place. Walking in, it's the typical Long Beach style cheap eats diner complete with the overhead menu board with about 5 million options and incredibly low prices. I don't care where you come from, a $5.75 avocado bacon burger delivered with nearly an entire avocado jammed under the bun is a DEAL! And that's exactly what I got; bacon avocado burger, onion rings and a Manzana apple soda for about $7 bucks. No complaints from me! The burger was tasty and, as I mentioned above, packed full of avocado and bacon and then topped with the standard tomato, lettuce, 1000 island dressing, and onion treatment. The onion rings were just standard fare. Not great, not bad. I suspect they came straight out of a Costco style package and were then dropped into the fryer to order. Definitely passable for the price. The place was clean enough. As Chris J. mentioned, it's definitely not seen an update for a couple of decades but it kind of adds to the charm of the place. This place is alright. I've had their breakfast burritos a couple of times. The salsa could be better, but it passes. The burgers and fries are delicious, so are the onion rings. Nice and crispy. I've also ordered their chicken salad, or was it the chef? I can't remember, but it was decent sized, nice big chicken breast filet, hard boiled egg, cheese, and the dressing was good. The last time I went I ordered a patty melt. I like the bread they used, but I felt there was something missing to balance out the onions in the melt. Over all a good place to catch a quick meal. I happen to live close by this location so at times I stop by it have never been great but tonight took the cake for me first let me point out the prices are to high. I ordered some food for me and the family two guys working the window could not get it together at all. Now I am a person who orders and change the whole way it is suppose to be prepared. With that said my Oder was incorrect I ordered a pastrami ask for chess I was charged but no cheese on the pastrami other parts of my order was not correct what do you do after you seat down and start eating go back. Then I was asked to park on the side because the guys on the drive through window charge me for one item not two as I asked.
