This place is bomb, I call in my order and it's always ready within 10-15 minutes. The people who work here are awesome and the cooks kick ass. I like the fantastic breakfast burrito and the bacon breakfast burrito they add salsa which has a nice mild but fresh flavor and the 1000 island is amazing with the burritos. The Bacon Avocado Cheese Burger hits the spot every time, it's the perfect charbroiled burger in San Pedro. The fries are perfectly seasoned and the onions rings with 1000 are to die for, I love the Chili cheese fries from here. read more

Every neighborhood has its local burger joint that has been around forever, and the Fantastic Cafe is that in San Pedro. They've been consistently good for as long as I can remember; the burgers are savory (especially the avocado bacon cheeseburger,) the fries are well-seasoned, the breakfast burritos are huge, and the Greek chicken salad is delicious. If I need to grab a quick bite on my way to the 110 it's usually at the Fantastic Cafe, it's fast, satisfying, and for me, nostalgic. read more

I walked into the "restaurant" to grab a simple burger, fries and a chicken sandwich. I specifically asked for NO tomatoes due to an allergy. Great Customer Service here at Fantastic Cafe. I love the fact when I call in they're ready to take my order immediately. The food comes hot and fresh from the griddle (I think that's what it is) and portions are good. Just enough for you to feel food. I love their fries a lot. Try their chili fries. BOMB! I typically go for the BLTA sandwich or an Avocado Bacon Burger. I love most things with Avocado. Just sometimes if you are waiting in line it may take a while to receive your food. I'm going to bump them up a star because they recently remodeled the inside and everything is new including a couple of flat screen TVs to watch. I like it when owners take the initiative to update their businesses and make it an even nicer environment. So we order up a bacon avocado burger and and order of zucchini. FANTASTIC! Man I forgot how good Fantastic Cafe was! There is two near me and I pass one twice a day 5 days a week. I need to remember to make a stop there one night. It was getting late and we were starving. Two Cheeseburgers and one order of Onion Rings. Burger was juicy and toppings were fresh and piled high. We asked for extra spread (1000 isl) and it was dripping out with deliciousness. Onion Rings were crunchy and yummy. Didn't get any this time but their Fries are awesome. I usually order them well done with extra seasoning and that is the way to go. Fried Zucchini and Chili Fries are also must orders. Large inside dining area and plenty of parking. Plenty of food for your buck. $10.21 was our total tonight. Drive thru was super fast tonight which surprised me bc I remember it used to taking awhile especially if there were cars ahead of you. Fantastic Cafe = Greasy Spoon. But, it's oh so tasty. My family has been coming here for years. We used to actually go inside and eat, but nowadays we just order and pick up or brave the drive-thru (which takes FOREVER). Fantastic Cafe is a dumpy little dive chain on Gaffey, but if you're in the mood for junk food (and a huge variety of it), this is the place to go. My favorites: - BLT (dry) with a side of french fries (thick cut potatoes with seasoning). - Ground beef tacos (big, greasy delights) with salsa - Onion rings - Bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and tons of pickles The portions here are very generous. The taco contents literally explode out of the shell. The burgers are massive (in comparison to your average fast food joint). The french fries are way more than enough for two people to share. Same goes for the onion rings and other sides. Don't go in here thinking it's classy by any means...it's not. But in all the years I've been going here, I've never gotten food poisoning, nor have I had a negative experience. I don't eat here all that often these days (I'm already a heftyburger as it is), but I will opt for this if I'm eating with my family and they present this as an option. Likely will not be visiting this location again. I placed an order via postmates and contacted them promptly upon delivery of my food to notify them of items missing from my order. The woman who answered first said they didn't have an ordering matching my items, then after putting me on hold came back and said my postmate driver didn't order one of my items. When I tried to let her know I still didn't receive one of the items they claim he ordered, she began YELLING at me on the phone about contacting the driver or postmates and accused the driver of stealing my food. My bag was completely tied up and didn't have room in the paper bag inside for them to have even packed any of the missing food. When your immediate response to a polite customer complaint is "Well are you going to drive back to pick it up?", and, "Okcall postmates then!" maybe you shouldn't be working in customer service. read more

Fantastic Café is a hole in the wall frequented by San Pedro Locals for years. A friend of mine in San Pedro said its the best bet for cheap breakfast in the area. They have wonderful breakfast deals where you can get eggs, toast, hash browns and orange juice for only around 6-7 bucks. I have been here a few times and I must admit their breakfast is really good. After hiking and jogging along the Palos Verdes coastline on a Saturday morning, we came here and we couldn't believe the prices for the food. The food is decent quality, and the prices are very reasonable. I have tried one of their burgers, and they are what you typically think of when you think of divey, tasty, cheesy melted goodness. They are pretty filling and their fries hit the spot. However, the fries are just a tad bit too salty for my taste. The staff is friendly, and its a great local diner to visit in the San Pedro area. I haven't tried mostly everything on the menu yet, but so far I can say they are a solid joint in the San Pedro area. read more

My son had the pastrami fries and they disappeared quite quickly, even though five people could have ate them - they were huge!
