I usually satisfied and go for pedi and mani but this time even though I booked an appointment they rushed into finishing my nails because suddenly there were few more customers and within a day or two it started chipping off. It was really annoying since you take your time, pay them and feel like you wasted your time and money. I would really request them to take each customer seriously and do the job right. read more

I have to give this place three stars only because the woman Kim change the price once I got to the salon. When I called yesterday, I told her the length of my hair and asked her how much she would charge me for a haircut. She gave me a price and then once I got here she increased it by $10 not extreme but still not cool the haircut I would read it 8 out of 10 because she kept my length basically just cutting my dead ends overall it was OK. We had just moved into the area, and one of the things I dread the most is finding someone new to cut my hair. It'd been about three months and I still had to go back to my previous haircutter which was about 10 miles away. I just couldn't find anyone nearby. I tried a few different places so when Fantasy salon just opened up near my house and I had to give it a try. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The prices were very fair and even less than most places. The people there are so friendly, and they seem to always be busy. That being the case, someone was ready to cut my hair as soon as I walked in. The gal who cut my hair, Li, was very good! In fact, she knew how to deal with my Asian hair before I even said anything. She knew that when I woke up in the morning, if I had short hair, that it would stick up. She said that it took her quite a few years to learn how to cut that type of hair. And believe me, most haircutters just don't know how to do it, unless you go to a higher-priced place that, most likely, has someone experienced. But the price doesn't mean they'll still do a good job. Well I took that note as a positive one, but wanted to wait until the next morning. When I woke up the next morning, I was really pleased! My hair didn't stick up it actually looked really good and I had found my new haircutting place! But, the proof for how good the salon was really isn't how they cut men's hair, but how they offer their services to the women. After all, that's who the salons are geared for. So, I told my wife and mother-in-law about the place and one Saturday, when we had some time, we decided to try it... I needed a haircut anyway. Well, they loved it! They love the prices, they loved the people there, and it was close to our house! Because, where we live there aren't a lot of services nearby. Needless to say, Fantasy Salon is the real deal. I've been going to Fantasy Salon for over 10 years and I have been happy every time I go there. Kim has been doing my hair for 10 years and I always walk out looking beautiful and feeling fabulous! I am very picky when it come to my hair and don't trust anybody except Kim. I go there every 6 months for a complete coloring, highlights and haircut. It's a all day process on my hair ( I like the platinum bleach) but I have to say it's worth every minute for the work that Kim does on my hair. Kim sets the bar high when it comes to haircuts and highlights!!! I refer Kim to all my friends and they loved it! The shop is clean and the ladies that works there are friendly and always have a smile on their face! I highly recommend Fantasy Salon and look forward to many more years with them! I wish giving no stars was an option, the polish was very old and everything was dusty, the polish is also very sheer. She did a horrible job at painting them and missed many spots, she seemed very inexperienced. The place is also disgusting it's filled with hair and dust THERE WAS TWO DEAD ROACHES. I would never ever come back even for free the worst thing i've ever experienced .... Update I got my nails done around 10:30, it is now 1:30 and they still smudged because they aren't dry, she put on globs of the top coat that it never dried and still smudges hours later, so disappointed and such a waste of my money. read more

My mom and I have been coming to Fantasy salon (for our hair and nails) for years. Love their work! Today I got a pedicure as well as a full set gel manicure. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. Unfortunately lack of professionals and customer service makes this place a no star salon. Kim the owner is specially rude and nasty towards clients and her own employees. She is nasty selfish woman who treats people with no respect. Her work is just average. I rather go somewhere with average work and great customer service or fantastic work with average customer service but not average work and terrible customer service. Please avoid this place. You can find plenty of Vietnamese owned salons everywhere. On top of everything else she uses brushes over and over on different customers without cleaning it. Great for threading! Shanoosh is the kindest, and does a good job fast. I would definitely go back. I went for a mani pedi yesterday though, and they got our reservation messed up so they were rushing through. I have a few cuts from where cuticles were clipped too close and some of my nails were not cut straight. Not the best experience. Quality of haircut- Horrible I got multiple haircuts from Kim over the course of a year due to the salon's close proximity. She never cut my hair the way I had requested. She overcuts hair and is unable to use her own expertise and judgement to meet clients desires as requested. I left the salon feeling ugly every time. I gave her multiple haircut opportunities that were easy to moderate, but NONE of it ever turned out the way I wanted. Service- Terrible I have waited 30 to 40 minutes even though I had an appointment. They need to stop overbooking. Quality of waxing services- Absolutely Terrible Tracey/ Tracy waxed me. First, she did not replace the used towel and the used paper sheet that covers the waxing bed, which is a huge health concern. While waxing, she pulled the skin rigorously and was not trained to apply pressure to sensitive areas and to ease the pain. I have been getting ingrown acne in the waxed region since the appointment. Also, she got wax all over me. Lastly, there is no privacy! The waxing room is right where the client waiting area is. When the door is opened, everyone can clearly see inside of entire room. I would've been okay with this if I were at least provided a towel to cover myself. I have had no such problems at my usual waxing place. read more

The lady is rude and does not want to touch long asian hair. Rude enough to say-thats a lot of hair-i dont have time when I had an appointment and the appointment was given in person (so she could see my hair) and not on phone! I had an appointment fro hair 'wash and set.' She washed my hair and ran a hair dryer making me look like a poodle and said -this is blow dry (set)! When I said this is not what someone usually does in a blow dry/set, she said "you have too much hair. I dont have time. Thank you. $20 please" I had a party to go to in an hr! They gave me to this lady named Tina and failed to mention that it was her first day. At the end of the hair cut, I saw she cut 6 inches off instead of the 3 I asked for. She pulled it off effortlessly which is no easy task. My hair is thick and is a texture cross between black hair and Indian hair. I've been coming to her for five years now. I noticed that Kim has a lot of Persian clientel and I go where the Persian women go for beauty treatments...why? They are tough to please, like me... But they also like quality without paying an arm and a leg for it. So, I let them do the research and I follow their lead for beauty needs... I recommend Kim. The key is to book with her on her slow days, avoid weekends and Friday's. Also, take a photo of the style you are trying to get instead of telling her in your own words...it's easier to show rather than explain. Also, your not going to find a salon in Los Gatos that is lower than Kim for color, highlight, cut and style.... Your just not. Her prices are fair. read more

I have visited this nail salon twice in the last two months. My first visit was for a gel manicure. It turned out pretty good. I normally get french instead of color, but when I go somewhere new, I don't like to take a chance that the french will look bad, so I went with a color. The technician did a great job with the filing, cuticles and applying the gel. And the gel still looked great, except for being grown out, after two-to-three weeks. So, I tried Fantasy Salon again for another gel manicure and a spa pedicure. Gel manicure: The technician didn't seem to know how to take off the gel from last time. Once it was finally off, the nail care portion of the manicure was fine. She just seemed very inexperienced based on how slowly she was working. The gel application was also slow, but I did not mind. I opted for french this time and prefer the technician to take her time and do a good job than to rush it and have it look bad. After the gel manicure was done, I noticed several rough edges and by the next morning, two of the white tips had already chipped. I have gotten hundreds of gel manicures over the years. This isn't a case of me being too rough on my hands or not knowing what to expect. The gel is simply chipping and now lifting after a mere day. I don't know if it's that this technician didn't pre-treat the nails enough prior to applying the gel or if she just didn't seal the edges properly. It didn't happen the previous visit with a different, seemingly more experienced technician. Spa pedicure: The technician (not the same person who did my gel manicure) seemed like he was also very inexperienced. He worked extremely slowly with nail color removal, trimming, filing and cuticle treatment. When it came time for the pumice, he did a terrible job. I guess I can't say he did a terrible job because really, he didn't use the pumice on my heels at all! He sanded the sides of my foot and went over my heel one or two times with nearly no pressure. My heels aren't overly dry, callused or cracked. But, I pay for a pedicure to walk away with soft, groomed feet. The heels were totally skipped. The rest of the pedicure, polish application, calf massage and such were fine. Skipping the heels is a big drawback, in my opinion. In summary: Gel manicure was pretty good in color with experienced technician; french is chipping after just one day. Spa pedicure polish application was great, but skipping heel treatment was a huge minus in my opinion. I feel like I should go back to have them fix the chipping french gel manicure and complain about the pedicure. But, who has time to make two visit when you get a service? I prefer it to be right the first time. read more

I have long hair and needed a last minute haircut before a trip. My regular stylist was overbooked, so I decided to stop by here the night before my trip on a whim since I live close by. I requested a basic trim (2 inches off the bottom and layers around the face). Although they were closing in 10 minutes, they were still quite busy and still willing to accommodate me without any appointment. I didn't catch the name of the lady that cut my hair, but she seemed to have a lot of experience with thin hair and did a decent job. She agreed that too many layers would thin out my hair even more, so kept it minimal. Although they were already closed, she didn't rush and took her time. I had to leave a salon I loved due to ever increasing prices into the hundreds. I know many are not able to pay those high prices and FASHION CUTS is a dream for those who are on a budget. I see men, women, children in there at all hours of the day and she listens to exactly how you want your cut, color or perm. I am extremely particular with my cut and she executes it perfectly.
