Please DON'T GO HERE folks. I should have known better when I took 2 of my pants here for alterations. I had my reservation about his techniques when he only uses safety pins with only one pant sleeves. When I picked them up, one of of my pants turned out too short and the others one look like they were never done as I have asked. Yet, the Korean owner who works there argued with me, lied to me, told me that he won't redo them, AND have the nerve to demand $56 out of me (he told me about $40) when I dropped them off. The hygiene of this place should also be the warning sign. The carpet is old, the floor is filthy, and there's no privacy in the dressing room. AVOID this place. I paid them $40 only because I was stupid enough, but NEVER again shall I return! read more

Took two brand new pairs of jeans to be hemmed. They didn't even come close to matching the thread color and I felt bad asking to have them both fixed so I just asked for the one jeans that are really off to be redone. Same story as all the others; hate to do it because the owner is the sweetest, friendliest man but to be fair to all other businesses I review, it has to be done (sigh). This place is a disorganized, dirty mess and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how items are received, tagged and prioritized for completion. My order is consistently late and even if I pick it up four days after the date promised, I have to stand at the counter and wait while the owner runs around quickly steaming and wrapping up my clothes. C'mon, get it together. I also find that their methods and/or equipment is sub-par as I've had items returned with burn marks. My last order contained a pair of slacks I asked to be hemmed and were cleaned instead. I then had ro being them back and was charged again for the hemming. I didn't even bother explaining the situation to the owner, just paid the $10 knowing I wouldn't be back. With so many other cleaners in the neighborhood, it's just not worth settling for poor quality and service. Save yourselves the disappointment and seek service elsewhere. read more

I have been using Farah's since 1990. That's across three different owners! The most recent owner, Larry, is by far the most personable and I feel he is genuinely interested in my satisfaction. They are not the least expensive, however it is not only about cost, it is about value. Clothes are cleaned on site and when there was a problem they have always made it right. read more

It looks like Farah's has not cleaned up their act since Tara V. went back in 08. Well now its June of 2011. I needed a dress altered for a wedding I was attending, I also needed it dry cleaned. I dropped the dress of with the safety pin in place. He (not sure of his name) quoted me a week. No problem because I was still a month out. I went back about 10 days later to pick up my dress. After about 10 minutes of looking for my dress, he told me it was NOWHERE to be found. He said it must still be at the tailors. Funny though- as he's saying this he is standing in front of a sign that says 'all tailoring done on premise'. I asked him for the address to go pick up my dress. He would not provide me with any information just stood there looking at me. This was a $400 dress and at this point I was understandably upset. I left in a huff after he told me to come back in 4 days when the dress would be there. 4 days later I show up. Demand my dress. He spent about ANOTHER TEN MINUTES looking for it, fumbling through the computer, fumbling through the rack.. FINALLY my dress appeared.. He charged me- which appalled me to no end. I grabbed my dress and huffed again out the door. I got in the car and inspected my dress. NO TAILORING WAS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Took my dress immediatley to my normal tailor- far away though. Please don't support this business. This was not the first time I have had issues- they are just so convenitenly located I keep giving them a try. I will never go back. They lost my trust and just as Tara said extremely irresponsible an unprofessional. read more

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!! SOOO disappointed! My mom uses this dry cleaners and I needed a handbag cleaned so I brought it over here to be cleaned. They had no problem telling me that they were able to clean my handbag and that they would take care of it. (my stupid ex boyfriend spilled white chocolate all over the inside) Fast forward to 3 weeks later when I go to retrieve my handbag on a Monday. The older gentleman who works there told me to come back on Wednesday and he would have it done. By Wednesday I forgot to go pick it up so I went the following day on Thursday. The gentleman was not there but instead an older woman who does not speak English at all. I explained to her that I was there to pick up my handbag. We went back and forth for probably 10 minutes to get her to understand what I was saying. She then told me that my handbag was not cleaned yet but when it was, the cost would be around $45. (we are going on week number 4 of my handbag being at this establishment, not cleaned and $45. I DONT THINK SO) Then I asked her when I should come back and when it would be complete. She said she didn't know. I left upset. Then I decided that I no longer wanted them to complete the cleaning and I wanted to just retrieve my handbag and clean it elsewhere. I went back in, told her at this point I no longer wanted them to clean it and I would like it back. She then told me that she had no idea where my product was. She said that her brother knew where it was and that he would be in at 400 that afternoon. Still upset that my handbag was nowhere to be found. I told her I would be in promptly at 400 and I wanted my product. Then she changed the time of her brother's arrival from 400 to 4:30. I said fine and I would return at 4:30. I returned at 4:30 with my handbag sitting on the counter without it being cleaned and the mans response was "sorry I didn't have time for it" Will never ever drop anything off at this place again. read more

I had such a HORRIBLE experience at Farah's Cleaners! I brought my designer jeans (which cost over $150) in to be altered, and when I picked them up, the color of the stitching did not match. I asked them to fix it, and when I came back to pick them up, they were nowhere to be found. THEY LOST MY JEANS!!! When I asked them to reimburse me, they refused to give me the whole amount, AND they didn't even want to give me a refund for the cost of the alteration. How irresponsible and unprofessional. I will never go here again, and I encourage everybody to go somewhere else for your drycleaning/alterations. read more

AWFUL! Trust the other reviews and steer clear of this place. We took our bedspread here to be cleaned. Not only was it not ready when they promised, it was never cleaned when we finally were able to pick it up. The same spots (not stains) and dog hair were still there and it did not smell clean. They denied that they hadn't cleaned it and refused to refund our money. Terrible business. read more

Hate to do it but each visit gets worse. I don't do a ton of dry cleaning but maybe 4 times a year I will drop things off. They are never ready on time and if they are ready they haven't been wrapped up for me so I always have to wait for that. The place is an absolute dive, there is trash, empty bottles, paper on the floor, ripped carpet and chipped paint. I just no longer feel comfortable bringing clothes here so I will find someplace new. Owner is a nice guy. But they need to put 10 grand into this place and bring it up to speed so people feel comfortable dropping off their nice clothes. read more

On the recommendation of a long-time customer I trusted Farah's to clean my most special, irreplaceable pieces. They did an excellent job! However, when I brought in 5 pairs of slacks for tailoring, the results were less than acceptable. I wound up with three pairs of the exact same slacks fitting three different ways. And two of the five pairs had unfinished/sloppy seams--an embarrassing discovery to make at work! The bottom line: great for dry-cleaning, not-so-great for tailoring. read more

Well looks like it's the same old thing at this place! My stories real similar to everybody else accept that the clothes I did get back smell like a stinky man wore them with BO!!!!! I don't even want to go back there and have them redo them. I wish I'd checked their reviews before I went there. They charge me $20 for 5 shirts. One shirt is still there the Oriental guy told me it had stains he couldn't get out and had to be redone. The shirt had no stains!! I probably won't see it again. My poor granddaughter dropped off her graduation dress we're going to try to get it before they do anything to it! :-( read more

Well, I should have trusted previous reviews' warnings, but this business is in my neighborhood and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I took a nice blouse in for cleaning, returned ~a week later to pick it up, and...lo and behold... He couldn't find it! He looked for about 10 min, looked pretty confused, and then told me to come back tomorrow. I asked where the shirt might be, and he said he has another store and it might be there, but he didn't know. (And like the other reviewer pointed out, this is as he's standing in front of a sign that says "All Work Done on Premises"!! I came back a later day, and at first he couldn't find it again. I was definitely kicking myself for not heeding the other reviewers' warnings. But, after another 5-10 minutes of looking confused, he found it. And, you guessed it, still charged full price. Next time I will definitely be taking my business around the corner to the cleaners with the good reviews, convenient as this one was! This place is obviously disorganized and/or untrustworthy... And then, the clencher--they still charged fully. 2 stars only because they eventually found my shirt; otherwise it would have been a 1! read more

I will NEVER EVER go to this hell hole again! I dropped my 2 items off on a Tuesday. The guy told me they would be ready Saturday by 3pm. I show up Saturday at 4:10 and the guy tells me only one item is done and the other will be done by 5 but they close at 5. I told him he told Saturday at 3 it would be ready. The guy then tells me "it's a football and basketball jersey. Do you really need it now? It's not even football season." I just left and had to go back monday because they are closed Sunday. I go back Monday after 3:30 AND MY ITEM STILL WASN'T READY!!! He told me "20-30 more minutes" I told him no to finish now. I wasnt going to keep waiting. He didn't offer to discount the price of my dry cleaning or anything. That was my first, last and ONLY time there! read more

Horrible! I brought in two winter jackets to be cleaned. Went to pick them up, and they Asian guy told me one wasn't done and had stains on it. I told him that they did nor have any stains when I dropped them off. Long story short, "three" cleanings and 2 1/2 weeks later... Still brown stains. I refused to pay and will take my business elsewhere. Wow! There goes my fav jacket. read more
