They used to be better. They now don't pay attention to details, and whoever they subcontract out to clean does not do a good job. I think they're used to servicemen (& women) at the Miramar who value quick turnaround over actually doing a good job. Just spent $146 for 16 pieces and not very pleased: black shirts with visible white crusty bits (maybe it's starch?), white shirts with visible stains, black suit dry cleaned but with visible wrinkles and creases. What happened to marking stains and issues with tape/safety pins? Just feels like they just want to rush rush rush and don't actually care about doing a good job. Do better Jazzi cleaners! read more

I flew to San Diego and had packed my suit in my suitcase. The suit also needed to be dry cleaned. I dropped off the jacket, pants, and white shirt on Wednesday afternoon it was promised for late Thursday or anytime Friday. Dry cleaning was ready by 4:00 pm on Thursday. Not worth the time or money. Husband and I brought his uniform and my ballgown for alterations before our ball. The lady essentially said what we wanted couldn't be done because there wasn't enough fabric. Fine, whatever. My dress was not too bad but I did need a leg slit sewn up a bit as it was too revealing. Went to pick up and the stitching was inside out. My dress is ruined and that stitching is IN THE FRONT and VERY clearly visible. It's a hack job and NOT the quality work we paid for or expected. The stitched up the back and managed to do that just fine so I don't understand why the front was done this way. Will not be returning. read more

Coming here is a gamble. But oh man where do i begin. We've been coming here for at least 5 years, Maybe 6. Over that time, prices have increased. But thats what you expect in SD. But as the prices increase, the quality of work decreases. For example. Ball season. Our ball was nov 9th. I took my husbands metals to be mounted "proffesionally" on oct 3rd. Well over a month in advanced. They said it takes a week to get it done and back because hes a 3rd party dude that comes and picks up on Tuesday and brings them back the next Tuesday. Okay thats fine. Oct 10th i go in to pick up my husbands metals because i got the text saying they're ready. I get them and they are NOT balanced. I complained and say hey i paid y'all like $35 to do this and they are not even straight. They say okay sorry about that, he will fix it but it will be another week. Okay thats fine thank you. Oct 17th i get a text saying its ready to get. I go back to pick it up. Ive gone 2 times to get these metals i paid for to look super nice. And again, they are not straight and worse than the first time. Clearly im mad because now theyre wasting my time and money. Gas aint cheap y'all. So they offer to have it fixed by thuraday and gice me 50% of my money back. I accept. Thuraday i come in for a 3rd, 4th if you count drop off, time to get these metals that my husband can do. Again they were still not 100% but better than any other time. At this point i told them i would not be using this service from them again. Left and fixed it ourselves. read more

I took 4 long-sleeve shirts to get their sleeves shortened and 1 shirt also got taken in and 2 pants to dry clean for $60 with a 10% discount since I was a first time customer. They ladies working were extremely nice and pleasant. The shop is decorated with a lot of signed military photos from past/current customers. As you could tell, they are extremely military-friendly and have a lot of military customers. I got my clothes back in 2 days (I was in no hurry) and they were perfect. There were no loose threads, they fit amazingly, and the dry cleaned pants smelt/looked brand new. My only knock on this store is that they might be a tiny bit pricey... a tiny bit. I work for a Fortune 10 company, in which I deal with other large businesses of varies sizes throughout San Diego within my day to day. Today, I had two appointments with two separate clients lined up. I walk out of my office and the button on my dress shirt's sleeve falls off. I hop in my car and say "Siri, directions to the closest dry cleaners." She took me to Jazzi Dry Cleaners. With needing to be at my first meeting in Downtown San Diego in about 30 minutes, I rush in and ask if they could reattach the button while I had the shirt on (didn't have anything on underneath). Ali, said yes and got to work quickly and resecured the button to the shirt. He mentioned that this was a first.. and he really saved the day. There was no way I could have walked into my meeting with a missing button or my sleeves rolls up. No problem with the cleaning, but prices about an additional %30 above market rate. Two star rating given the price point. I found Jazzi based on a Yelp search of nearby cleaners. True to the other reviews, they are friendly, pretty fast and I never had any problems with my clothes. I drop off a few dress shirts for wash and press, and some of my wife's work dresses for dry clean about once a week. Dress shirt wash and press cost is high $3 range, when high $2 range is standard for San Diego. Dry clean prices vary by size of the item obviously, but on average prices were around $14 for something that should around $10. Jazzi is close enough to my work commute that for a while I figured the extra expense was worth the overall convenience, and maybe it is for enough other people. They do massive business for the Military, with a huge portion of the clothes on the rack being military dress uniforms and such. The final straw for me was when they charged me about $4.85 for a dress shirt wash and press, because the shirt was "too long" to press in the machine and required a hand press. All my shirts are just standard dress shirts from the department store, and I have never had an issue from a cleaner about length of my shirts in the past. So anyway, I found another cleaner based on Yelp reviews last week, also along my commute. They were also friendly, did a great job and charge high $2s for dress shirt wash and press. read more

Sometimes you need your home away from home. I don't get anything dry cleaned, but I do require constant alterations. My home for that is in North Park and I love it there, but it's hours of operation are my working hours as well. So unless it's my day off, I need to find another option. I struggled with trying to decide if I should stay in the Hillcrest/North Park area or branch out. I saw this place as I was flooring it on my way to work (I'm always late) and bookmarked it. So glad I did. The first time I drove by with the intent of going in it was after 5pm on a Monday. There was a line out the door like ten people deep. I don't think so! Next attempt: Tuesday morning around 8:15am. Easy breezy. No other customers there. The woman behind the counter was extra informative and helpful. They offer expedited services-for a fee. Which is a nice option to have. My life is usually not that important but it looks like they have a lot of military clients who I'm sure would be very thankful for that option. My alteration was done on time and as expected. Maybe a little better because I had this pesky button that continued to fall off my pants. Super embarrassing, just like my sewing skills so it was pretty bothersome. Apparently the button is "broken" (the little part that would normally have four distinct openings for thread has now an open X like configuration, leaving nothing to secure the button with). So all the other times I would get it fixed, it would be okay for a while then obviously break loose again. Someone finally took the time to see what was causing it and really fix it. It's the little things. Small, friendly and trustworthy. I will be taking care of all my clothing repairs (and dry cleaning if I ever need it) here. read more

I moved to San Diego in Sept 2011 and have tried a few dry cleaners. None have been as affordable as Custom Cleaners for the quality, service, and location. Makayla and her team are super friendly and professional, I have a great experience every time I go there! I recently had to alter a new pair of True Religion jeans with Super T stitching. Over the years of having these jeans altered, no one has ever done a decent job. Seams have either been butchered or stray threads left poking out from around the ankle. I was completely surprised that the tailor for Custom Cleaners not only did a beautiful job, she used the original threads (or matched the multicolored threads perfectly) and thick stitching! Brought in an a-line skirt because my usual tailor was unable to fit it in within the unfortunate 24-36 hour time frame I had. I needed about 2"taken in on an elastic waist. I explained to them I wanted it taken in on the right side or the back so that the striped v pattern along the side would be clearly visible still. They didn't do what I asked. They didn't remove any fabric and instead tacked it in three spots (including the front!) creating three bunchy looking seams. The stripes on the waist no longer line up with the skirt. And thanks to a seam off center front it looks like I'm wearing the skirt backwards/crooked. For this service I paid upfront $33. Omg. Please please don't bring your clothes here. I would have been better off with safety pins. I'll be having my tailor fix their work, but now I have to find another outfit for tonight after much running around and planning. I originally sent in 2 uniform sets on a Monday, one had to be done by Wednesday, and the other was the next Monday. Unexpected events came up, and I had to change the second set to ASAP. They worked hard and I was worried that I wasn't going to get it. But they pulled through and updated my second set in 2 days (got them on the as early as Thursday) instead of next Monday. They charged me no fees for the second set, and I greatly appreciate that gesture, after all the fuss I made them go through. They WILL get your stuff done if dire. read more

When I came in she gave me attitude about needing same day after having called to verify they would do this for me. They even have a sign that says "ready in 10 mins" lie! I then tell her I'll go run some errands and come back in an hour or two. I come back two hours later at 3pm and she tells me "sorry I'm eating and I haven't started your stuff oh and didn't I tell you 5 pm?!??" No she certainly didn't. pretty unprofessional if you ask me! Jazzi is right across from the Miramar MCAS, and they do a ton of business for them. As a result, they not only do a great job of cleaning, but their pleats are immaculate.
