We went here with a private group of about 15 people. They greeted us and served drinks out in the back courtyard. It was a lovely place to sit with comfortable outdoor couches/seats. When it was time to serve dinner, we were led into a private dining room. It was a bit loud. Not the best acoustics, but a beautiful room. The staff were very attentive. It was a slow meandering meal. Our menu was pre-selected and the food came in courses and served family style. What really impressed me was how they accommodated allergies. I'm allergic to dairy and don't do well with gluten. Another person in our group was vegan and gluten free. I was able to eat almost everything on the menu. That is to say, the majority of the dishes, if they had gluten or dairy, they brought me me own plate with a safe version for me. I was blown away. A lot of places will give you a lesser alternative, but for the most part, they really made the same dishes, just allergy friendly. It was delicious. Often at dinners like this, in fancy restaurants, when it comes time for dessert, I will be offered either a plate of cut fruit or a sad bowl of not very good sorbet. Not here. One of the desserts was this amazing chocolate cake coated in chocolate with a raspberry filling. It was what they served everyone and it was gluten free and dairy free. I about fainted. They also served a dairy free chocolate gelato that was delicious. It had something interesting in it, maybe lavender? We couldn't quite place it. But it was wonderful. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to others. I have never seen a restaurant in Napa step up to the plate like this when it comes to accommodating food allergies. Way to go Farm! We were fortunate to snag at last minute reservation at Farm when we arrived in Napa on a Friday evening. As you might expect the decor is upscale, modern farmhouse for a restaurant called Farm. It's beautiful with modern metal light figures, light color pallets, and large windows. And even though we reserved an indoor table, they accommodated our last minute desire to switch to outdoor seating. Major bonus points for sufficient heating for your outdoor diners, even at the end of May. The service at Farm was excellent. I just want to give a major shout out to Farm for completely accommodating my lactose intolerance. This allowed me to enjoy the dining experience without worry. For drinks they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne as we were celebrating a special occasion. This was a nice way to start the meal. After, I ordered a lemon drop and husband went with his typical old fashioned. Both were very good. Next, they gave us some amuse bouches to start the meal, with a special one for me to accommodate my dairy issue. Love, love it when restaurants do this. I think this especially notable for restaurants not offering a prixe fixe menu. The food was incredible. To start we had the focaccia, which was so, so good. I was also very hungry so I had more than I would have liked before I even got my entree. Oops, but I also have no regrets. For my entree, I really wanted the crab stuffed cod, but this could not be done without dairy so I opted for the eye of ribeye entree. This dish was incredible. The beef was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I don't know what the veggies on the side were exactly, but they were mind-blowingly good. I wish I could make veggies at home taste this good. I firmly believe that it speaks volumes when a restaurant puts as much effort into the sides as it does to its mains. My husband ordered the pizza as his main. He finished it all, but thought the pizza sauce tasted a little unusual, but couldn't put his finger on exactly why. For dessert I had strawberry sorbet, and my husband had the chocolate ice cream. The portions were very generous with three scoops each. I didn't think we would finish them, but they were so good we did. To conclude the meal, they gave us little pate de fruit candies, and cookies to take home with us, including a dairy free one specially for me. This type of experience is on par with Michelin level dining. We had such a fabulous meal here and overall amazing experience with the level of service at the Carneros property that even though we weren't staying as guests, we decided that we will stay at Carneros and will dine again at Farm when we visit again next year. read more

We were told to either wait for 10 minutes or go to the outdoor seating for immediate service - only to realize outdoor is a separate place called Pavillion that has a different menu. They would've made clear but they didn't. We moved to inside and their service is slow. Very slow. It seems like there is only one lady serving the whole place and all other people are just for cleaning up dishes and giving water. Food is slow. Server only checked on me once for a whole hour. Asked for an ice cream to go because we were worried it'll take too long - and server says everyone is ordering ice cream so yeah there is nothing they can do things are moving slow. We came midweek off season so there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant so service was very attentive. We received fresh cutlery with each course. We came here on our last night in Napa. We pulled into the beautiful resort and were directed where to park. Once inside, we had a choice to sit outside or in the beautiful dining room and since the weather was fabulous, we sat outside. Our server, Teresa, did a nice job in explaining the menu and sharing with us some of her favorites on the menu. While they have a lovely wine list- they also make a great martini which I really enjoyed after several days of wine tasting. My friend and I decided we were going to split the Farm salad to start and then she had the swordfish special and I had the Papperdelle bolognese. Everything was delicious and perfectly timed out. For dessert we had the apple almond tart and the trio of ice creams. All in all it was a lovely evening! One of the surprises I had maybe just because I didn't expect it from a restaurant like this, were the series of one off charges for some things. Want a martini with blue cheese olives? There's an up charge. Want to split a salad? There's a splitting fee. Stuff like that makes me nuts but that's just me. Just know before you go. All in all it was a very nice evening eating outside under the stars. Oh and did I mention they had live entertainment? The guy who was playing was telling us to watch for him on "The Voice". FARM has got to be the most underrated restaurant I have ever been to. I decided to stay here and wasn't sure what to think but I was SO impressed that I can't wait to come back. The food, service, ambiance and quality was categorically superb. WOW!   I drove up here from Los Angeles and just their dessert made my enter weekend. I love this resort. The strawberry Panna cotta was OUTRAGEOUSLY DELICIOUS.   The servers were very friendly. This is are a truly wonderful resort. It's quiet, family friendly, great for couples. Food: Lobster risotto - AMAZING. So creamy and flavorful. High quality ingredients. Dark chocolate pot de crème - I have never had a chocolate mousse-like dish with this much depth. The chocolate itself had so many elements. Then adding the creative toppings in each bite ... obsessed. Brandt ranch NY strip - don't order this. This would've been a 5 if it weren't for it. The flavor was bland and even though it was medium rare, the cut was very chewy and dry. Ambiance: Stunning and peaceful. The light was hitting perfectly and the decor is classy and welcoming. Stunning Patio, Stellar Service, Staggeringly Bad Food If you are looking for a spot with a beautiful vibe to grab a drink, this is it. But if you're looking to actually eat, I'd suggest going literally anywhere else. The Atmosphere & Service The setting is undeniably wonderful. We sat out on the patio, which features great live music and cozy fire pits--it is the perfect environment for a night out. Our server, Samantha, was the highlight of the evening. She was attentive, professional, and did her best to take care of us. The cocktails were also absolutely delicious and well-crafted. The Food: A Comedy of Errors Unfortunately, the kitchen did not live up to the environment or the service. It was almost impressive how the temperatures were the exact opposite of what they should be: The Oysters: These were served warm on a bed of moss. It was, quite frankly, gross. No one wants a lukewarm oyster. The Risotto: This was essentially flavorless, mushy rice. To make matters worse, it arrived cold. The Trout: The flavor was okay, but it was overcooked, served at room temperature, and the portion size was incredibly small for the price. The Value Problem The pricing here is hard to justify. We were told we should order at least two dishes per person to feel satisfied, but at $35 per plate, you expect high-quality execution. Paying that much for cold, flavorless, or poorly prepared food feels like a slap in the face. Bottom Line: Go for a cocktail, enjoy the fire pits and the live music, and definitely ask for Samantha--she's great. But please, do yourself a favor and eat dinner before you arrive. First time visiting FARM and I was impressed! Upon arrival we were seated at an outside table with a heater above and a beautiful park like setting! The area is surrounded by rows of fresh vegetables ripening before your eyes in well maintained garden boxes! They immediately gave us refreshing water and menus. We were a party of 4 and we started reviewing the wine list. For starters we had a dozen oysters, Brussel sprouts and Shisito Peppers which were excellent. We selected a delicious wine with our dinner which consisted of the Tuna a Caesar salad, a House salad and a pepperoni pizza with fresh chopped garlic and bell peppers! (It doesn't come with fresh garlic or bell peppers, but they were very accommodating ) It was of note that when I felt something under the table and looked down, two cute little dogs had wandered under our table and one of the ate a piece of pepperoni that had fell! It was also of note that although we ate outside, we didn't experience insects around our food and drinks! I would definitely return soon and I would highly recommend this establishment (FARM). I've been eyeing this spot for a while now because of the beautiful property. I thought, this place is perfect for a brunch day. While the grounds and employees were awesome, the food was not that great and apparently during brunch it was a cost of $68 per person for 4 food items which they split by 3, so over $200 for 3 of us and mediocre food (not including alcohol). I'm mad at myself for not checking the brunch set prices. Again, beautiful grounds and great mimosas but the food, that's a hard pass. read more

Wow, this place was overwhelming, but not in a bad way! I was treated out to dinner by a friend who works at the resort near by. We had dinner plans for a celebrated birthday and there was four of us total. Honestly, this place is more upscale than when I'm used to so it was a nice experience. First impression for the ambiance was great. Everything is clean and well placed and there's a mix of dining in of outside with fire pits to keep you warm in this December chill. I remember just looking around in awe thinking "oh this place bougie for real though". Service: 100/10, everyone who served us was fantastic! Our server checked on us regularly and refilled our water right on time without being overly intrusive. The chef also came out and explained each dish which was nice as I can sense his passion for cooking. He also provided off menu items for the table which was very sweet, I'm glad we allowed him the opportunity to be creative with his dishes ^_^ Food.. there was so much, we had to bring a to go because we were not expecting to be treated so well! Appetizers: Caesar Salad, Tuna Carpaccio, Oysters, and Caprese.. SO FREAKING GOOD 10/10. The tuna and oysters were so fresh and just melted in your mouth. The Caprese was my fav though! Who doesn't love fresh mozzarella in herbs with fresh tomatoes? Simply devine. The specialty salad that came out before the food was nice, it had a scotch egg with greens, mushrooms and onion.. however it was not my favorite as it had a strong vinegary base. The scotched egg cut through the acidity but not enough to be a highlight. I think if I had several scoops less of that taste it would have been perfect. Main courses: Lobster mac and cheese 8/10, very good, the cheese was different. Taste was great, but I do love a more cheesy/creamy consistency. Dried out a bit too quickly but tasty nonetheless and LOVED the lobster meat throughout. Brussel sprouts: 9/10, hard to mess up, good char and flavor. Would have ate most of this if it came out with appetizers Tomahawk Steak: 7/10, I'm not a HUGE red meat fan. I loved the char on it, the cook time was perfect, but it lacked a bit of flavor. I think a couple of spices or maybe some additional chimichurri on the side would have enhanced this. Trout: 6/10, I do not tend to get cooked fish when dining out. This was fine but it didn't stand out. Desserts: Pumpkin Semifreddo 10/10, so delicious, never had anything like it. Wasn't too sweet either. That butterscotch custard was DELICIOUS with it! Blackberry Mousse Cake: 9/10 delicious, loved how the blackberry compliments the corn ice cream and whipped mascarpone. My spoon gravitated back to this one for sure. Apple Almond Tart: 8/10, (forgot to take a picture) honestly, I'm not an apple tart person but I would order this again. The streusel on it was so delicious with the brown butter ice cream. Omg, if they offered that ice cream in a bowl it'd be a wrap.. it was fantastic. Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème: 4/10.. this one is not it. The chocolate is far too dark and rich. The added granola and coffee nib crunch does not complement it.. the bananas are good.. but this dish is missing an element of acidity. When I tried it with blueberry it was really good, but even then not by much. This one left the palate with something to be desired. Overall, would definitely come back on a dinner date. We had a reservation but waited a little less than 10 minutes to be seated. I loved the open kitchen to watch the staff working from a far. We ordered the Meatball starter which was impeccable. I loved the flavors in the meatball paired with the savory sauce and sourdough. For mains, I got the half order of the Gnocchi Cacio E Pepe which bursted with flavor. My husband got the Liberty Farms Duck Bolognese which came in a very large dinner portion. The dish was rich yet sweeter but absolutely delicious. FARM Pavilion is adjacent to the FARM and is open air space which was nice with live music. We missed the music since we arrived late but we had dinner with the musicians. They were extremely friendly. We chose this for small plates vs the actual FARM serving Italian cuisine with large portions. The food was mediocre at best and probably way below par in Napa and the Bay Area. But we had a nice time talking with the musicians and service was pleasant. We are Sonoma locals, and the new restaurants in the Sonoma and Napa area far outrun Farm. It is a beautiful property, but that is the best I can say. We were a party of 5, yet they seated us at a table for six. We finally had to ask them to remove a chair and place setting. Their corkage is $45 per bottle, with a limit of two bottles. Not a starter for locals. Wine list is roughly 4-5x retail, so definitely not for locals. (Restaurant was relatively empty.) The food? One salmon dinner came out cold. Pork Chops were way over cooked. Gnocchi and Scallops were fine. Simply not worth the money, as there are many better restaurants in Napa and Sonoma, with wine friendly menus, better service, and much better food. read more

I had happily dined at FARM last Spring. It's a beautiful and pleasant space. I recall the food and drinks being absolutely delicious. Now: I have NO reason to return. Why? Food: not as good or fresh as it once was. Overpriced for what you receive. One is paying for ambience. BUT - you can receive ambience anywhere in the Napa Valley or Bay Area. Service: downhill. I wish I had her name, but alas I do not. Older/middle-aged white female. Off-putting, slightly rude, and overly familiar. Lack of politeness and boundaries. Yes - our entire table noticed it. For this alone, I have no reason to return. Every 2-5 minutes, servers kept coming to take or clear our plates. Please stop and let us chill/converse. We are not done enjoying the meal. This disrupts the dining experience. I would not return, nor would I recommend FARM anymore. There's too many beautiful spots with good food in the vicinity. read more

I'm very sad to write this review as I have been coming here for over a decade, Farm has always been my go-to restaurant to bring out of town work colleagues and guests, but I don't know if they changed their chef or if tonight was a reflection of the rising prices for things in general but it was a huge disappointment. The portions of food have all become tiny. And the flavors are not there anymore. For 4 adults we ordered two appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts and I'm feeling hungry still. The salad was so small we each got just a few bites. The chicken entree was half of a chicken breast. Not even half a chicken for $36. The steak was $48 and about 4 oz total so we each got one bite. completely charred to charcoal on the outside, not completely edible, I had to cut off the charred edges. The gnocchi was 10 pieces and not pillowy or flavorful at all, just sad dense doughy cylinders. And the sole stuffed with dungeness crab was about the size of a chicken sausage, tasted dry and fishy. Usually their desserts are my favorite part of the meal and a highlight. Today they made dark chocolate cake actually taste bad, I didn't even finish it, the Panna Cotta was better. Tonight was so bad that I'm not even sure if I'd risk coming back. I really hope they can get back to what they did before. read more

A great place to be just to relax and enjoy the beautiful ambiance. This restaurant has an indoor and outdoor with a beautiful landscape. Came for an early dinner got seated right away. I ordered the lobster risotto it had a sweet corn mousse that was creamy and light with herbs, the lobster was soft and tender. Risotto cooked to perfection loved how everything blended so well. And to go with it is a caberet cocktail it's clean crisp and refreshing. For dessert Strawberry Semifreddo a rose custard, almond sponge, macerated strawberries, almond granita, rose-almond streusel, very light just a smooth finish just melts in your mouth. The Cold ice cream texture and all the components combined gives it that perfect taste. I can eat this over and over again without the quilt, not sweet, just a strawberry flavor light finish to it. It's a family style experience currently priced at $68 per person and you get to choose 4 brunch entrees for the table. The dishes are so beautiful crafted with that Napa farm fresh quality! I really don't understand why the reviews are so high. 4 courses were mediocre and they were so far spaced between. The seafood was incredibly fishy, including the oysters - and I love my oysters! I couldn't finish them even though I can easily put 24 down on my own. No lobster risotto despite being specified on the website - was instead served Dungeness crab risotto which was overcooked and under seasoned. Again, very fishy smell. The steak course was a laughable two pieces. Had to take the kid to McDonald's afterward and nursed myself with indigestion all night. For $500+ this was place overpriced and seriously underwhelming. Beef tartare - very well prepared, the knife cuts were perfect for the dish Caesar salad and garden salad - yummy with lots of grated cheese. Crisp greens and yummy dressing Mt Lassen trout - perrrfectly cooked with crispy skin, and the sauce went so well with the fish and the greens. Loved this dish, I think this was the best fish dish I ever had at a New American cuisine restaurant. Five stars. Service- six stars if I could. I've only been to Farm for brunch, 3 times now! Safe to say I'm a fan. I love the concept of choosing 4 plates to share family style. My husband and I typically share entrees to try different things anyways so it's perfect for us. Every time we come here the menu has slight changes, but there's always classic items that remain like the lobster roll. Good food, great service, great ambiance - what more can I say? The restaurant is in a hotel and it meets all my expectations in terms of presentation, quality, and taste. I recommend you ask for a table outdoors - Beautiful outdoor seating options, multiple tables alongside a beautiful outdoor grassy area where you can play chess/bocce, etc. Came with a large group and a reservation and we were accommodated well. FOOD Got the buccatini pasta which was a small portion and not too flavorful but was still decently good relatively. Also ordered the scallops entree which was pretty good (only came with four scallops). For appetizers, we got the melon and prosciutto dish (not a huge fan), also enjoyed the focaccia as well- comes with whipped butter and olive oil. Servings for the good in general are actually very small but what can you expect. Lastly, I would recommend trying the lemon pistachio tiramisu this was delicious, light, and fluffy. Overall great ambiance and good quality of food. Ingredients of high caliber and seems as if the food was made with much care. Also nice staff so overall good experience. Best Eggs Benedict of my life. I don't know what they put in it. It looked like some kind of pesto sauce, but it was amazing. The banana fosters waffle was also incredibly delicious. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it wasn't. That's the best compliment an Asian person can give to a dessert. The restaurant in general is large and beautiful with plenty of seating inside and out. For the brunch menu, you choose four items on the menu and then they give you a portion enough for the number of people at the table. I like the opportunity to try multiple items. The other two items were the prime rib and the biscuits and gravy. I thought the prime rib was okay. Basically a piece of meat, but my favorite was the caramelized onions. Sweet and savory goodness. My least favorite was the biscuits. The flavors were pretty one dimensional and I couldn't even really tell there was sausage underneath. Service was excellent as expected. I decided to come out of semi Yelp retirement to write this review because there was a moment in our dining experience that irked me and bothered the rest of our group that I decided to share with you all. We came here for dinner and had a reservation. The setting and ambiance here was nice. Service was on point. We all enjoyed our food. The meatballs were solid, pasta was delicious, salad and bread was excellent. Now let's down to why I wrote this piece. Having visited a couple of wineries earlier that day, my cousins purchased some bottles for us to enjoy with dinner. We were kind enough to allow our server to taste some which she was happy to accept after initially being reluctant to. Later in the meal, she asked if it would be okay for our sommelier to try. Enter in the picture our sommelier; his face definitely lit up when he saw the silver oak bottle as it was a rare release and known to be a highly rated and amazing wine (nearly $300 bottle). He asks if he could pour himself some to taste, our group agrees then he proceeds to pour himself a full glass (nearly 3/4 full) and nearly finishing the rest of the bottle in the process. We were shocked to say the least as he says he was going to share some with the bartender; completely unprofessional and uncharacteristic behavior of a sommelier. I found it to be off putting and it honestly put a damper on the rest of our evening at the Farm. I'm not an expert but thought to make it right "hey maybe they might throw a dessert our way or something because we shared this wine with the staff and they would maybe reciprocate in return". No such luck. I don't intend to return here and a piece of advice; if you bring in some nice bottles of wine from the outside: Keep it away from the sommelier (assuming it's the same guy) read more

I think they were just having an off night. The Fritto Misto was overly battered and served lukewarm, which was a real bummer. We would've sent it back, but the server never returned so he ate some of it. The chicken dish had a nice smell and flavor to it, but was served warm as well and a little dried out. The Oso buco was probably the best dish With polenta and a rich sauce. The wood mushrooms had an ingredient that couldn't be described to us by the server, but she was guessing that it was the type of vinegar they used. We only ate half of it. read more

The food was spectacular once again, many compliments to the chef! Unfortunately the service was severely lacking. Last few times the service received was parallel to the food. This time it wasn't even close. We arrived 15 min late for our reservation because Hwy 12 traffic was insane. Tried calling the restaurant twice and no one answered the phone. They seated us even after arriving 15 min late however at an inside table instead of outside in the patio. Patio service is so much better. The inside dining room service was spotty at best, food came out disjointed and by various wait staff, took a long time for beverage service and had to ask twice for coffee refills. Water service was good. Overall not a great experience, luckily the amazing food and company made up for that. We had beignets (10/10), rib eye (10/10), eggs Benedict with salmon (11/10), chicken and waffles (9/10) and French toast (10/10). Delicious!!! read more

Unfortunately a 3star is all I can generously give the Farm on 3/15. Bday dinner for my girlfriend, ambiance is nice and staff was friendly. The Spring Bruschetta had very large chunks of beet making it hard to consume when compared to a what you normally think of with bruschetta & finer chopped toppings - Took 50 minutes to bring our entree as they apparently lost our order. - Staff came around asking how it was, when we had no food in front of us. Awkward at best. - Ate 1/2 my pizza and asked to take the rest home... - Waiter came back no box...Returned 5 min later and admitted "a piece was missing from your pizza so we have to fire you a new pizza" NOT OKAY. Damn near an hour for our food, then when we ask to leave someone in the kitchen ate my leftovers? Next time don't admit to someone on staff eating my food: just say it got thrown away and you can make me a new pizza. I wish I had a better experience I wanted to like it, the people around us seemed to enjoy their meals, unfortunately we did not. read more
