The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although the halibut special didn't quite hit the mark everything else our group had was wonderful. Steaks were cooked perfectly. My wife and I visited a couple months ago with our dog. Very dog friendly. They have a dog menu. We loved it, so we decided to take our friends there. 6 of us. 1. 4 plates we split with our spouses. My wife and I split meals all the time. A good server will always point out a split fee if the restaurant has one. She never said a word. $20.00 down the drain. We would not have asked to have our salads split. 2. We were charged for an additional entree that we didn't order. $32.00. We had to dispute this and was not as straight forward as it should have been. 3. Our served never came by to ask how our meals were. Small thing, but still important. 4. In my job, I have entertained multiple times with 6 people or more. Good establishments always always always the server will point out if a gratuity is always included. Again not a word from the server. We were all very disappointed. I would never tip her 20% for the service we received. This is why a 20% automatic gratuity should never be mandatory. Please not on the attached receipt that had deducted the additional Casareccia Bolognese that was originally added. It gives me no pleasure to write this review. Oh myyyy..., Lucy's is not what it was. We live in Yountville part time and used to go to Lucy's at least once a week for breakfast and loved it. However apparently hotel and restaurant is going through transition (new owners). They didn't have breakfast menu, just brunch menu so much more limited breakfast items. Execution on the limited breakfast menu was good either... Hollandaise sauce had to be remade, thin Canadian bacon was over cooked, etc. Wait staffed tried but are new themselves... manager didn't even get involved which was particularly disappointing. Ambiance is great though. Hope they turn things around. Also please bring back the original Belgian waffle back... truly a special experience. read more

We had a breakfast reservation at Lucy Restaurant and Bar. The restaurant is beautiful with a great ambience, and we chose to sit outside. We ordered the Breakfast Tagine and the Avocado Toast. The Avocado Toast was excellent, 10 out of 10. However, the Breakfast Tagine didn't work well for our palate. The combination of spices, chickpeas, ginger raita, and wild mushrooms just didn't come together for us. Customer service was great. Really enjoyed our time at Lucy. We stopped in for a quick breakfast on our way out wine tasting. I had the Morning Sun drink, Tagine and side of fruit and all of it was wonderful. Service was good, a bit slow but I think that fits the vibe of this place. The ambiance is truly where this place shines. It's the perfect peaceful spot for a relaxed breakfast. Super long wait for food! We waited 25 minutes before someone took our food order and another 35 minutes before our food came out. The food was ok but not worth the wait or the price. The overall ambience of Lucy is very very nice. It feels very luxurious and the outdoor seating is nice as well! It did not seem that busy but they told us food would take 20-25 minutes to come out but in the mean time we got a plate of bread, butter and olive oil. I got the weekly special with scallops and pork belly and it was very delicious! I tried my friends steak and brisket dish and both were cooked very well. If you're not staying at Bardessono, I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here. We came here for brunch mainly for the "zen vibes" that were highlighted from other reviews. At first, the receptionist had told us that their outdoor patio was full but after asking if we were staying with them, he said he'd go and double-check. That might have been the first yellow flag; he then escorted us to our table which was tucked right alongside the back amongst a fully packed patio, indeed. It literally took over 20 minutes for us to be able to get the server's initial attention. It almost seemed like they were trying to ignore us for some reason. When we were finally able to do so, he was visibly flustered and said that he wasn't ready to take our order, and said he'd come back. When he came back, he apologized and said there was a mix-up, which is why he never got to us. While I appreciated his apology, the vibes were already ruined. The classic breakfast is exactly how it sounds: I got 2 sunny-side up eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sourdough toast. The toast didn't come with butter as it normally does, and I did have to use a lot of salt, pepper, and cholula to dress everything up. It wasn't the worst thing in the world though, it was decent/standard. We also got an iced latte which was pretty good. By the time we finished eating, we were the last table there. Then, is the only time I felt the "zen atmosphere." Overall, the slow and unenthusiastic service does not encourage me to come back even if I was staying at Bardessono. There's definitely better brunch places to check out in Yountville for a more pleasant experience. read more

We dined here recently and very much enjoyed the lovely atmosphere on their outdoor patio. The soft chuckling of the fountains is particularly pleasant. Service is fast and friendly, and the food presentation is impressive. My friend ordered the short ribs, and reported that the dish was good, but not great. I ordered the chicken, which came with fingerling potatoes. The potatoes were AOK, but the chicken was well cooked and quite nicely seasoned. We both enjoyed our lunch, probably more because of the atmosphere than the quality of the food, but the overall effect was quite pleasant. The staff were very friendly and professional which we appreciated. I noticed a lot of groups of girls coming in for a cute girls day brunch which made me want to come back and do so too! The food we ordered was good, I got the chilaquiles with chorizo. I can honestly say I've had better but it was still good overall! My husband got the braised brisket hash which he enjoyed! The portions were pretty big and we took left overs home. I went to Lucy's for my auntie's birthday, and while it's a very beautiful place, the experience was a bit disappointing. The bathrooms were a highlight with heated seats and bidets, it really felt like being in Japan, which I appreciated and enjoyed. We came with a group of about 15-20 people. They seated 10 of us at one large table, then placed the rest of our party at a separate outdoor table and another table behind the main one. There was an empty table right next to us that could seat six, and when we asked why we couldn't use it, they said it was reserved. Oddly enough, we were there from 12 PM to about 3 PM, and no one ever sat at that table the entire time. It was frustrating that they chose to separate our group when that table remained empty. We would have much rather sat together. At the end of the meal, we were surprised to see an $80 cake-cutting fee added to our bill. They said it was $8 per slice, even though we cut the cake ourselves. Once we pointed that out, they removed the charge, but it showed a lack of communication that could have easily been avoided. As for the food, mine was okay. I had the eggs Benedict, but the sauce was unusually sour. My sister ordered the French toast, which was delicious, and the fries were also really good. I'd recommend those items. Overall, it's a pretty spot with a nice atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend it for celebrations, especially if you're hoping to keep your group seated together. read more

While I was still pretty full from the meals we had earlier that day, in addition to all the wine we sampled, I enjoyed their grilled duck and some refreshing cocktails as the temperatures cooled down at night. The Liquid Courage cocktail made me feel bold and strong, strong and bold with citrus and tropic flavors, whole the Bebop and more dark fruit complexity. The pan-seared Liberty Farms duck breast was wicked good and not too heavy, given my belly was still digesting the earlier meals. While we were initially seated inside, we asked to be seated outside due to the louder-than-appreciated political conversation taking place a couple of tables from us that was souring our evening. The service was also slower than I anticipated, and it wasn't even a packed house inside and out. Those were a couple of the frustrations we encountered on the last night of our dining experience. My sister & I came here last Thur to have lunch at Lucy. We both needed to use the restroom first. I had read online that they had bidets, with heated seats. There were 6-8 small bathrooms off the lobby, each with it's own bidet. I was happy to see a woman cleaning them all one by one, since using a public bidet seems very unsanitary to me. I was not a fan of sitting on a warmed toilet seat, especially when it wasn't cold inside the bathroom at all. I had trouble trying to figure out how to flush the bidet, since there were no instructions. I eventually realized there was an entire bar of buttons on the wall to the right. These bathrooms were so small you could almost wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. We then proceeded inside the restaurant bar and the bartender said to go ahead and sit where ever we wanted. He promptly brought ice water while we browsed the menu. After looking at the high prices we opted not to dine here considering there really wasn't anything we were interested in. read more

We went to Lucy's with a large group, so we expected a long dinner. The food was extremely underwhelming. The service was poor. The ambiance was the only reason I gave 2 stars. The service was very prompt when it comes to refilling waters, but the actual waiter was phoning it in. Ordering drinks and receiving them took an excessive amount of time. The wait to order appetizers took more time than necessary. When the waiter came back to get our mains, again this took entirely too long. The amount of time it took to get our appetizers, was acceptable but the wait to get our mains was ridiculous. We must have waited 15 to 20 minutes between the last person to finish their appetizers before the mains started to arrive. They delivered part of the food, then it took another 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come out. The amount of time between finishing our meals and having them clear the plates, was another 15 - 20 minutes. By the time they offered us dessert, most of us were done and decided to forego it. When the bills came there were multiple issues and they had to go back and correct them. The menu is BORING! I was less than interested when I looked at the menu online. Luckily they had some specials that sounded interesting. I ordered the halibut, while my wife had the gnocchi. The halibut was absolute garbage. It was over cooked, without flavor, and the sauce below it was not any better. I requested salt, hoping it would help fix the dish. NOPE! The gnocchi was better, but under seasoned. Had it just been my wife and I, I would have returned the halibut, but with a larger group I sucked it up. The ambiance is nice. We sayt outside and they have a beautiful courtyard. This was the only saving grace. Do not waste your time with this restaurant. There have to be multiple options that are cheaper and much better. read more

This spot was delicious! Right in the heart of Yountville, I've passed by many times but only recently tried it out after a friend's recommendation. I'd definitely recommend trying it out if you're in town and looking for a delicious bite with a private and elegant setting. The salad was well seasoned and super fresh--loved the addition of beets. The chilaquiles were nicely spiced and the tortilla chips were super flavorful and well covered in the salsa. The burger is a MUST, super plump patty and perfectly crispy fries. Breakfast at Lucy's. What a disappointment. Two days in a row to boot. Staying at Bardessano Hotel. Ok the good news: pleasant setting, fresh, modern. Have had good experiences in the past. The Bad: extreme waiting time after order taken. The restaurant not busy at all. Thought they lost our order, except yesterday's experience was the same. Both dishes on both days were not warm. Crazy, huh? Egg dishes not prepared as requested. My scrambled eggs today could have bounced off the floor they were so hard. Ordered, "soft"-- my wife had similar experience and sausage were, cold. Server came over and said she would reorder. New order comes hot, not hot, not warm. My toast was black. I'd asked for it to be toasted well -- not white -- server brings it over and says, "is this too dark."? About this time the Mgr comes over and asks us how we like our meals -- I asked if she really wanted the truth ( at this point I really didn't care) and she said YES. So I explained , she saw our dishes , apologized and said she was handling our breakfast costs. I didn't have the heart to tell her they were included in our room. She was very nice, sincere and mortified. We are skipping tomorrow's breakfast ( again included) as we head back home. I hope this is just a kitchen staff personnel issue that gets resolved quickly. read more

We had a lovely experience at this spot during our stay in Napa! The property is absolutely gorgeous, very modern and beautifully designed. It felt like a little oasis away from the buzz of the wineries. The food came out quickly, which we appreciated as we were in a rush to get to the next winery reservation. Everything we ordered was fresh and well prepared, though the prices were definitely on the higher side (which is expected here in Napa). That said. Felt pampered! Went on a Friday for some work-related matters & decided to make a day exploring downtown Yountville. Opted for Lucy vs the "touristy" ones and sooooo thrilled with our decision. Service was PHENOMENAL! Attentive without being intrusive. Had lunch at their patio. Since it was just wore & me, the sound of the water from the minj water fall along with the cool breeze soothed this stressed out soul! Had the burger - nothing out of this world - but the fries were THE BOMB. Wife had the grain bowl & enjoyed it. The restaurant/hotel history is also interesting. Give it a try. read more

Throughout the night, there was only one other party in the restaurant. We ordered the Roasted Chicken, Short Ribs, Halibut, and a side of mushrooms. They also gave us Chips and Guacamole on the house because the chicken would've taken a bit longer to come out. Everything here wasn't bad. - The roasted chicken was pretty dry, but the flavor that the creamy sauce gave it was good. - The halibut also wasn't bad. - The short ribs were my favorite. They were very tender, and the sweet and salty flavor kind of seemed Asian-inspired. - The mushrooms were delicious, but they were pretty salty. They tasted great paired with the entrees though. - The guacamole was also delicious. It was light and creamy. Overall, had a great meal here. We are local and have gone to Lucy several times over the years. Usually the restaurant is empty, but most people sit at the bar which I believe is the best place to sit and where you'll get the best food ( the burger mainly) somehow they cook that correctly Ok- there's the positive. That's where it ends Fast forward- we went to a harvest dinner there with 50 people, and it was one of the worst meals we've ever had in our lives. Starting with a parsnip soup that was like watered down milk and bits of sweet something in there. Ugh It was not discernible. Every 50 pieces of filet mignon , sadly the life was cooked out of them like the sole of an old shoe. So very disappointing indeed. This was a Saturday night and once again no one was in the main restaurant. We were in a private room and I don't know who the chef is at this point, but it seems to be very inconsistent. I would think if you're paying over $1000 to stay at a hotel you should at least get a decent restaurant and chef to go with it Wow. Just a shame. read more

Amazing service in the beginning when it was not busy. But as it got later and busier, had to flag down our waiter several times and long wait times before someone came back to us. Food is delicious and presented beautifully. I had the trout. Hubby had the short ribs. We had the arancini balls as an app. The truffle aioli is yummy! Sides of mushroom and broccolini. Stunning location. We came on an empty Monday afternoon and soaked up the serenity in the beautiful outdoor seating area. The indoor area is just as gorgeous, and it's worth mentioning that their bathroom is impressively advanced, both functionally and technologically. You'll see what I mean, lol. For cocktails, we tried the FN-70 and the Strawberry Swing ($17 each). Both were good. For food, we ordered guacamole ($17), shrimp tacos (3 for $27), and an ahi tuna sandwich with housemade chips ($30). Everything was delicious and well-balanced, but the housemade chips fell short for me--they tasted very stale. I'd get a different side next time. Although our orders also had a few mix-ups, the server was very kind overall, and we enjoyed our experience here. I'll be back for the ambiance and to try other menu items! read more
