We stumbled upon farm:table after heading to Dottie's and seeing a humongous line. We were starving and needed nourishment, so trusty ol' yelp pointed us to farm:table. Four stars can't be bad right? Well, the food wasn't bad, I really just think it is way over-priced. I have no problem with the one table, stand outside and eat concept. I appreciate the use of local, organic ingredients, but really, after eating what we had, I couldnt justify dishing out $26 for the experience. We had: 1. Hard boiled egg Brioche with a tomato and herbed marscapone: There was really nothing wrong with it, but if the highlight for a $6.75, tiny sandwich served on a tea cup plate was the yummy seasoned tomato, then that is not cool. The brioche was ok, nothing earth shattering. It took me 3 bites to eat this. 2. Arugula, goat cheese, roasted root veggies (added bacon): With the addition of bacon, this cost $13. No way in hell will I ever pay $13 again for a tiny dish of roasted roots and some arugula with drizzles of goat cheese. Again, the dish wasn't bad, but no way does it justify a $13 price tag. The tea pot we shared was good. Overall, I probably will not come back here, just because the the prices do not justify what you get. I left hungry and feeling ripped off. I got a huge surprise when I walked in. I was expecting a semi-typical, but small brunch restaurant, but what is really there is a community table with sparse outdoor seating. The inside of the resturant is about the size of the handicap bathroom (not including the open kitchen which is equally as small). Parking - Difficult, I hope you get lucky. Seating - 6-8 seats inside, two 2 seater tables outside, with the SF community benches along the sidewalk. Lets just hope it's not windy and cold when you're there. Service - speedy and friendly Bathroom - not for customers. Bummer because that means I can't wash my hands! I had the croissant sandwich with a hard boiled egg, prosciutto, some leafy greens, and white sauce - it was delicious! I did pluck out the egg yolk because I am just not a fan of yolks. The Daily toast had some vanilla spread and lots of fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries, oranges) on top plus pistachios. I didn't think I would like it, but the choice of bread they used (I think focaccia) made the world of a difference. The house juice is fresh and you can definitely taste the grapefruit, so if you detest grapefruit, don't get it. I highly recommend coming to try just once. It's a cute dainty brunch stop before headed down to Union Square. What I don't like is the pressure to tip (while paying for the bill) before services arrives when you order. read more

Another weekly Sunday brunch date with Stef C. Somehow we ended up deciding on this place the weekend before. I woke up a bit late but this is place was SMALL. I didn't believe how small it was until we got there. There's only about room for 8 people to sit there. I ordered a regular latte and that wasn't anything special but Stef got the pug n honey latte. The sip that I had was delicious. Definitely recommend it. Might be too sweet for some people though. We shared the daily toast with fruit and the egg on croissant. The toast was topped with mascarpone cheese with different fruit (outs had strawberries, apple, orange, grapefruit, kiwi, blackberries). Healthy! The egg on croissant is good too. Hard boiled egg, arugula, and prosciutto on a croissant is a popular too. Protip: stake out a place at the community table and get some toast! read more

I'm bracing myself for some hate mail since everyone and their pet seems to think this place is nothing short of five stars. I admit, the coffee and fresh food is hella good and five star material without a doubt. The service is also as friendly as it gets in San Fran. But I just didn't have a five star experience eating at the one communal table and having to move twice in the middle of my meal to accommodate others (and their shopping bags) who were waiting for their espresso orders to be made. As miniscule as this place is, they surprisingly have a restroom accessible from behind the service counter. I have no doubt that had I just gotten coffee/espresso to go, or when the hype on this place simmers down that the experience would be the full five stars. If we're all lucky, this place will somehow buy out the crap cleaners next door and add another communal table for the hungry folk who want to eat their kill in peace. read more

This place is so tiny and cozy, it's making me feel like I've invaded someone's living room. You know the feeling when you're tagging along your partner to a family event, and you don't know anyone? It's kinda like that. Everybody there knows everybody else and I was the n00b. It's not a bad thing, mind you. That just means that the ladies working there are friendly. And they are! It's nice to be treated with a smile at 7.30 in the morning. Regarding the small space and the communal table, I really don't mind it. As long as I get my coffee and not be disturbed while I play diner dash on my iPod. I haven't tried the food, but the latte was delicious. read more

The Asparagus Frittata was light and creamy - though I wouldn't say filling enough on its own. The Ham, Egg, and Cheese Croissant, however, was perfect in every way. I loved this place! It's teeny tiny, but the food was amazing and we got to sit outside on a lucky and stunning morning is SF. The food was delicious, the staff attentive and accommodating. The only issue would be that there are very few seats inside and in the winter it might be tough to enjoy being there. Looks like the neighbors bring their mugs for coffee(my mocha was delicious!) and they probably can pump out a lot of to go orders. I also heard that they buy veggies from Green String Farm in Petaluma which is owned by Fred Cline who I work for at Cline Cellars in Sonoma. They are sustainably certified and you can tell the food they make reflects what they purchase. Good Job Farm/Table!! read more

This was definitely not enough food for 2. In addition, the prices of this place don't reflect the one $ on yelp; it's definitely more expensive. The only thing that was great was the coffee - I loved the latte! Definitely stop by here if you're in the mood for good coffee, but don't expect great brunch food. Not what I expected. I've had this place on my bookmarks for weeks and was finally able to stop by during brunch time on a Saturday morning. This place is super small and I mean super small. It has two small round tables for outdoor seating and ONE single table inside that seats about 8. It's a neat idea to meet new people, cause there is no real privacy in conversations. There was a line out the door when we arrived (I always take this to be a good sign) and there was no seating available. My fiancé stood outside and scouted a table while I ordered. They have a limited menu- 4 items. I had the famous toast and my fiancé had the ham/egg sandwich. While we waited for our food, about 10 people walked up and left after realizing the wait and small space. The toast: it's a thick slice of bread with delicious fresh fruit. It was more like a dessert toast than brunch. I really liked it, but not loved it. My fiancé enjoyed his ham egg sandwich, but commented it wasn't anything mind blowing. I love the concept of farm to table and felt better eating consciences food. I'm gonna be honest- this place needs to move to a bigger spot. Loved the overall brunch experience here! On a Sunday afternoon, I had the savory tart with broccoli ham fennel cheese and onion and tried the daily toast with seasonal fruits. The savory tart, basically a quiche, was pretty good and came with a side salad. Portions were a little small, but fitting considering the prices. But the daily toast was BOMB. Apparently thats what everyone comes here to try, and it was definitely worth making the trip over to try. This place also has a good selection of coffees and teas. The best part of the experience here is probably the outside seating. It was a nice day, so we got to enjoy the weather in a cute part of SF. I'm glad yelp introduced me to this place. It was very close to our hotel in San Francisco. We headed here for breakfast this morning, and I had one of the tastiest and freshest breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The croissant with ham, egg and cheese was absolutely delicious. They have a limited menu, but everything looks delicious. My husband had yogurt with breakfast cereal. It tasted superhealthy and was perfect for his upset stomach. I also had the milk and honey drink with their almond milk. It was an excellent choice. The venue is tiny, like many places I've noticed in the city of San Francisco. There is very limited seating, but people get creative with where they sit outside. We sat at a small communal table indoors, and it was just fine. But that's the appeal of these hipster joints, and yes I caved too for that beautiful (and very simple) daily toast. Decked with fresh fruits and marscapone spread, the daily toast is more picture worthy than anything. For a whopping $7, you don't actually get a bang for your buck. The matcha chai latte was decent but I've had much better in NY. Seating inside is limited to one communal table, but I loved the high table seating and park-let they have outside. First morning waking up in San Fran and my boyfriend and I decided to yelp breakfast places in the area. We are staying at the Ritz so this place was only about a 10 minute walk. We walked in and were pretty disappointed that there was only one communal table in this itty bitty place. I think there were two two tops outside but it was raining so that wouldn't work. My boyfriend and I were almost out the door but decided to order coffee to go. I ordered a chai latte and he got a mocha. His mocha was good and my chai latte was alright- it had a little bit more spice than I like. While we were waiting for our coffee a couple got up from the table opening up some space to sit. After we saw the food that some customers were eating we decided to just order and eat anyway and I am SO glad we did! I ordered the croissant sandwich which came with hard boiled egg, prosciutto, Creme fraiche and baby arugula. It was just perfect. The combination worked. My boyfriend and I shared and I really could have gone for another. We also ordered mushroom and zucchini frittata. WOW. Was not expecting that! The aioli it came with was just delicious. I asked for an extra side that I slapped on my croissant also. (Hehe). Both items were light but filled us up. I didn't have a heavy full feeling. I was thoroughly satisfied with all elements of the food. I know that the setting of the place is what makes this place and works for others but would be nice if there was more room. The first two were both excellent dishes, and the pea soup was enjoyable, but the arugula salad was lackluster compared to the other dishes. Don't let the name scare you away! I thought this was just a typo or a green grocer and am glad now that I took the time to explore more. This was only because I was staying at USA Hostels, which is almost directly across frame farm:table. The restaurant is seating-challenged, but not seating-impossible. As I walked up to farm:table a 20-something lanky male bounded by me to grab the just-open table outside that I was eyeing. He was a a**hole, and it took me a minute to readjust my expectations, remember I am in CA and telling him off will wreck only my day. Instead, I took a seat inside at the large table and was surrounded by friendly, cheerful pleasant people. We all kept to ourselves, but friendly grins and minor adjustments to allow folks to squeeze in. Based on the reviews here I ordered the daily toast and a pot of tea. I also asked for an egg. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient! The meal was delicious and beautifully presented! The hard-boiled egg had sprouts surround it. My fruit was apples and I felt ripped off at first (see previous paragraph to see I was till calming down). I was NOT. The combination of textures (crunchy apples, cheese, ground nuts) was a pleasure to taste and eat. The toast is large and the meal was more than filling. Adorable place, great staff, incredible concept. So, why the 3 stars? I came here for breakfast with a bunch of friends and had their toast of the day ($6.25): bacon avocado w/ hard-boiled egg. Now, I'm a detail Nazi when it comes to food; the slightest imperfection, it's game over. So, when I got my plate of hard-boiled eggs on toast, I had to check for that ever-looming sign of miscalculation: the green ring around the yolk. I don't mean to sound like an egg connoisseur, but I like my hard-boiled eggs just boiled enough, without the ammonia-taste that naturally accompanies an egg gone for too long of a soak. The bacon bits were also a bit on the cold side... I guess bacon has to be cooled down in order to be broken? =\ Everything else was grand. The toast was warm and moist, perfect amount of melt-in-your-mouth avocado slices, all topped off with caramelized onions. For something that I can make in the morning for much less without freezing my ass off coming here early in hopes of beating the crowd, I'd rather stay home. Prices aren't listed on the menu and by the time we finished ordering we found out the burrito was $20 and avo toast was $19. Not putting prices on the menu is pretty tricky. read more

This tiny gem was a great place to have brunch. As we entered the restaurant/closet we ordered one of everything, daily toast (tasty bread with marscapone cheese and sweet fruits such as kiwis, cuties, apples all sprinkled with pomegranate seeds), the croissant sammich with boiled egg and creme fraiche and ham and the savory tart. We ordered black coffee and mochas. The line was quite long and it didn't seem as efficient. We were thanked for waiting in line an glad we did.
