This place seems to take its food seriously--the cooks are right at the bar and they call each other "chef" like The Bear--so maybe they want a Michelin star too and perhaps this review can help. I had 3 courses, the "meat" for an app, lobster roll main, and donut dessert. All 3 left something to be desired and each had a common issue: too much bread. The meat consisted of some nicely smoked pieces of something that had good flavor but was a bit chewy. There were a tiny dollop of mustard seeds and sweet relish and maybe 5 micro strips of pickled onion along with a pile of toasted bread. Okay, I thought, maybe I just don't get it, but it was good enough and for $9, 6-9 slices off of some pig's back is actually a pretty solid app these days. Then came the lobster roll (mind you, it took a very long time for this. A woman came in and sat at the bar next to me about half an hour after I had arrived, she ordered wine, a salad, tacos--ate, drank, finished typing what I assume must have been 57 emails and left a half an hour before me--maybe "meat" and lobster rolls just take way longer to manufacture out of that infinitely complex kitchen machine running before me but I dunno. The chef did apologize for the wait when he passed me the roll and I did end up getting a free dessert due to a mix up when I ordered it, so I know they do want to take care of you. Okay, end of sidebar). I could tell immediately that the roll the lobster lied within was way too bread-y. When I bit into it it not only were my suspicions confirmed but THE BREAD WAS SO DRY. SO DRY. It was akin to 2-day-old "italian" bread bought at the grocery store, where when you bite into it your mouth feels like the Sahara. I have no idea if they baked this bread in-house, but it easily sank this lobster roll to one of the worst I have ever eaten. Even I know, as an amateur foodie, that the roll is CRITICAL in the success of the dish--I mean it's in the name! On top of the roll being abysmal, the lobster itself had little flavor. It was promised as being cooked with brown sugar but I didn't get any of that. That could very well be due to the fact the roll sopped it all up and released it into the atmosphere before it ever got to me. There is no way this dish can succeed if the roll is not fixed--only death could be more certain! The fries it came with were solid. Finally the dessert. I order a donut and the waiter thought I said bill--maybe I couldn't speak clearly and all that actually came from my mouth was the sound of desert wind rifting over sloping dunes. The donut was a deep fried ring of dough with one scoop of cinnamon ice cream and two twisted sticks of bacon on top. This could have been pretty good, but the problem was the major lack of ice cream to balance out the dough ring. When I say there was a scoop, I don't mean from an ice cream scoop, I mean from one of those tiny ones that couldn't fit a golf ball--the scoop actually fit into the donut hole! In fact it was quickly swallowed into it and spread like an oasis over the dish below the donut. An oasis that was a mirage of course, that left me just thirsting for more ice cream. At least twice as much ice cream--AT LEAST! In the end, I would give this place another shot. The atmosphere was nice--it's a great date spot. As I have stated, they were accommodating and they do seemingly want to have something special--and that just tugs right at my heart strings. So, I hope someone there reads this long, epic review (resisting the temptation to make a Lawrence of Arabia joke here) and maybe tries to fix some of the issues I had an opinion on. My family and I were in the Lake George area and went to this place for a change of pace. This restaurant and the staff were fantastic.. the food was unique and awesome. We ordered. Few small plates, a medium plate and a large plate for 3 people. The hangar steak was amazing. So why not 5 stars? Because I am grading on a scale. I was extremely satisfied but not blown off my feet amazed as I would be at a Michelin 5-star restaurant. I am saving my 5-stars for those moments. read more

Quite confused on all the rave reviews. Tried Farmacy for the first time, was far from impressed and won't be back. To start, our party of 5 didn't get drinks for about 25 minutes. As a vegetarian its always nice to see when restaurants accommodate. "Roasted Butternut Squash w/chickpea ragu"...sounded promising to me! It was $27while my friends all had steaks that were $28. I was expecting to be blown away! Well I kind of was, I was blown away how awful it was. It was cold, just a few slices of barely singed squash....the chickpeas had good flavor but were also undercooked. I cook a lot for myself and know that a plate of vegetables can be fantastic, this was inedible. I sent most of it away and remarked that it was not very good...and got my bill for $27 read more

I really, really wanted to enjoy this place. We were visiting the Lake George area for the weekend and the reviews for Farmacy were amazing, but, sadly, our experience wasn't! SEATING: I made a reservation for a party of 3 SEVERAL DAYS IN ADVANCE, and once we arrived, we were sat at the high table w/bar stools. One of my guests has back problems and so we requested just a regular table instead. We were told that we should have requested a regular table in advance when we made the reservations and that if we sat anywhere else we could only stay a very limited amount of time. What?!!!!!! This was our first time there. There were no specific directions on the website to specify your desired seating heights. So, how were we supposed to know this? What restaurant of this size only has one location to seat a party of 3? Needless to say, our meal felt rushed. FOOD/DRINK: My guest ordered an old fashion. His drink was overly sweet and lacked the Luxardo cherry. The Luxardo is a staple for an old fashion! Nonetheless, we thought maybe the bartender ran out or simply forgot, but then noticed not only were neighboring tables w/old fashions lacking it, but soon thereafter, my whiskey sour arrived w/one! ‍ For appetizers, we enjoyed the sourdough bread and the shishito peppers. One of my guests enjoyed the hanger steak. My other guest and I got the hamburger. It was awful!!! We asked for medium, it was burnt and the buns were hard as a rock! We found this restaurant while staying in Glen's Falls on vacation. We had to wait 15 minutes with a reservation and our table was empty. Service was mediocre, but the food was tasteful and delicious. Our favorites were the homemade sourdough bread, shishito peppers, corn salad, burger and the hanger steak. Chicken sandwich didn't have much flavor and was just ok. We had hoped to try their lobster roll but unfortunately it was sold out just before we arrived. Nice outdoor seating space and ambiance. We had dinner at Farmacy last night. It was delicious! Chefs Jess and Colin were cooking up a storm of fresh veggies and interesting sauces. The mashed spice carrots as a side were FANTASTIC with a hint of butter and cinnamon. For dessert try the homemade ice cream! We sampled a flight of smoked chocolate, chocolate basil, pepsi and cranberry. They are all homemade and they were all delicious! My favorite was the chocolate basil! AMAZING!!!! What hits you first is the noise level. Three people at the bar and a party of six when we arrived and I couldn't hear the server. Despite having a reservation, despite plenty of empty tables, we were seated next to the party of six making conversation impossible. Here's a tip for the bar - never serve a martini in a champagne glass. Doesn't work. Oysters were good but small. Sourdough bread was very good but more peasant bread than sourdough - are you working with a starter or a yeast "mother" with some history? Carnitas were okay - nothing special. Duck tart was actually fois gras in a chocolate crust - everyone liked the crust, the topping, but the tart itself was pungent. One of our party took it home - wife loves liverwurst. When she rejected it and his dogs refused it, we felt comforted that it wasn't that our palates just weren't sophisticated enough. Shrimp pasta was more of a peas/pasta/pecorino mix with chopped popcorn shrimp. Push is toward tapas type dining - great but the tables are too small. More effort seems to be on artsy presentation than on taste. Very pricey. Service was very attentive and friendly but we were disappointed when our guest of honor's birthday - specifically noted when the online rez was made - was forgotten. Came here tonight with my family. Before ordering I asked the waiter if the vegan entree of stuffed pepper was fulfilling because no one wants to spend a lot of money on a tiny portion and I was unsure since it was the only vegan entree. The waiter informed me the vegan entree was a substantial portion. When my order came out it was a scoop of rice on one small smashed pepper. They also forgot an order of chicken which took an additional 20 minutes in addition to the 30 minutes we waited for our order. Unfortunately the presentation of the food did not reflect the price. We walked into the restaurant and sat down at bar behind where the chefs were cooking. They did an outstanding job. They were very focused and very skilled. Very impressive. We've been to many of the best restaurants in the world, and this restaurant is the real deal. The food was cooked absolutely perfect with a lot of flavor. The warm feeling set by the nice staff made the environment very warm. Shawn (one of the chefs) was very friendly and experienced. The dessert Shawn made was outstanding. ok, so i'm usually a little skeptical with dopey fluffy 'farm to table' whatever restaurants. it could be tooooo fluffy or toooo annoying but * THIS PLACE RULES! the menu choices were a nice mix. i ended up getting the *brisket* tacos as an appetizer. loved them so much i ordered 2 plates (3 each) honestly i coulda eaten 20 of the tacos. then i ordered the hanger steak which was soooo good ! cooked perfectly ( i like medium well) and good cut of meat, no fat and great flavor. came with mash potatoes and somethin green. i wanted to order two steaks but i would've seemed gluttonous. had the red wine , cant remember name ( pinot or cab) but it was perfect. they comped us a small cup of some sick ice cream for a tiny dessert. the waiter was cool, the cooks are right there in the front and they were having a good time , plus the restaurant played good music, some motley crue, some kiss and a few others. i wanted to come back again for a second night. ( went to another fluffy dopey farm to table place - not as good) as far as FARMACY - i'm coming back here next time i'm in town. 100% they got it down right. The catering for the Queensbury vaccine site was absolutely atrocious, and there was zero resolution after multiple complaints. Lack of flavor, barely any protein, and miniscule portion size contributed to this review. I love the friendliness of this restaurant. Even if you don't eat there, as you walk by, the chefs always have a smile(happy eyes:) and a wave. My favorite thing to do is sit at the front and watch the chefs perform their magic in the creation of their beautiful meals. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. They are following the rules of social distancing and wearing masks. Check out the artwork in the rear of the restaurant on the chalkboard created by one of the chefs. We went for the Sunday brunch on Valentine's Day and had a wonderful meal. As a Valentines day special, they gave us a complementary grandma's coffee cake which is yummy. We had the Benedict enchilada and vegetarian Benedict. The smoked celeriac in the vegetarian Benedict tasted almost like bacon, it was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals. The Uprising mocktail was refreshing. Note-they did not give metal straws that are mentioned on the menu. I don't usually write reviews, but felt like I had to after the meal we had last night. Unbelievable experience from top to bottom! Food, staff, ambiance were all A++. We sat at the counter right by the kitchen, which I would highly recommend as we got to interact with the chefs and watch them prepare the dishes, while getting some ideas on what to order! The food was incredible, and it sounds like the menu turns over frequently, aside from a few staple dishes, one of which was the hanger steak which was grilled to perfection. The staff was both friendly and attentive, and the chef walked us through each dish as it came out, which made for a wonderful experience that we didn't expect when we sat down. Everything is made in house, including the sourdough bread and the doughnut, both of which are must orders. This was our first time at Farmacy, but it certainly won't be our last! read more

I feel like when I go out to eat in GF I typically shift my baseline, as in "this is good... for Glens Falls." However this place is just legit awesome, period. I had an excellent dinner and time here recently. Innovative and delicious cocktails, good service, tasty appetizers (I love the oyster presentation), the sourdough is banging, and the hanger steak was perfect. I'm trying to eat less red meat these days but oh man, that hit the spot. I'm honestly looking forward to going back and proud to tell people that this is THE place to eat in town. Place was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised to find such culinary and libation sophistication outside of a greater metropolitan area. The menu is rotational so you'll rarely see the exact same dish twice. My duck breast was delicious and wife's scallops also on point. I guess one thing worth noting is the entree portion size isn't overwhelming where it makes sense to order at least one or two appetizers before hand depending on the hunger level. In our case, the tuna tartar also sensational. Price wise, the cocktails easily delivered speakeasy quality for a happy hour price... most were under 10 or 11 bucks. The service was impeccable and overall satisfaction merits five stars. Future patronage 100% assured. read more
