Just got back from visiting Ticonderoga. So fun! Went to eat at The Log Jam, an enormous restaurant in Lake George. With the Americade motorcycle rally underway in town, it was tough to find seating but the staff made it work for me and the tour group that I was traveling with. It's a nice, rustic-looking restaurant. The manager made the rounds to say Hello to us and he made sure that we were doing okay. In the interest of speed, I ordered a salad bar and the soup of the day which was Goulash. It was very good. The salad bar had everything I could possibly want in a salad and it was replenished regularly. The tuna Mac salad there was awesome. The salad bar is $15 if you don't get an entree or appetizer. Perhaps a little steep but I think it might be all-you-can-eat. As a petite person, I probably don't eat enough. From the window, I had a great view of the outlet stores that Lake George is also famous for. I had to fight to the urge to go shopping. Perhaps another day! We had a slight mix-up with the check for our table but the staff took care of the issue quickly and it wasn't a surprise because the place was really packed. We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Lake Placid. I loved the Adirondack decor and down home country feel. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was phenomenal! I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. Their salad bar is included in every meal and it had a wonderful selection. I had the bacon jam burger which was very tasty. If you are in the Lake George area, I highly recommend you check them out! read more

I struggled deciding whether or not to bump up to 5 stars here. In my opinion the Lake George dining scene is woefully underwhelming outside of Barnsider and Log Jam (and obviously Martha's). That said, my latest meal here was definitely good, but not exceptional. I came with a large party and the service was great throughout our meal. I ordered the duck any my wife the petite filet. Prices were reasonable for this type restaurant. The filet definitely came back in excess of the advertised 8 ounces, which was a pleasent surprise. It was a great piece of meat and was cooked precisely, but lacked a bit in the seasoning department. The duck was good - and also plentiful - but a bit too fatty for my taste and the sauce was a touch too sweet. This is a Venerable Adirondack Restaurant with consistent food and highly trained wait staff! That's a very popular place so during high time in the seasons for summer and skiing, be sure to get reservations. Everyone enjoys a salad bar which comes with every entrée and appetizer. Check out some of the unique appetizers such as bubbly shrimp served in an escargot dish. Soups were always very good although they didn't have a burger on the menu. You can order it. That's quite filling. They do have two sizes for the scallops. I believe the small size had eight they were done perfectly. Many people are satisfied with soup and salad. They have a small selection of draft beers, including their own lager. They have small variety wines as well and specialty cocktails. Although entrées are a little pricey, the service and the ambience and the food quality are totally worth it on trees are served on old time pewter dishes. I've always enjoyed meals here and we're return when I'm in the area. read more

It has been literally AGES since I last visited the Log Jam. I used to go fairly frequently when I first moved up here. I guess Covid deterred me the last few years.... knowing that there is still a salad bar available. While I'm not a huge salad bar fan, these folks actually know how to do it the right way. It doesn't skeeeve me the way most salad bars do. The quality of the food is also excellent! We visited with friends from out of town and had an absolutely lovely, delicious meal. Cocktails included! I was quite surprised at how good the lobster roll was and would absolutely order it again. Reviews from my meal mates were also glowingly positive. Service was impeccable. Pretty sure the next time they visit we will be back at the Log Jam. read more

We had an amazing memorable experience!! Rustic ambiance, great food and not overpriced!! They seated us in this part of the restaurant where there were all beautiful plants around the whole room. My favorite restaurant near Lake George. Worth it just for the epic salad bar alone. We went the evening before Mother's Day and it was very busy but the service was still excellent. I enjoyed a mocktail with beet juice and ginger beer. I got the citrus halibut for my entree along with the aforementioned salad bar (the breads and cottage cheese are especially good). Left room for dessert and had a hot fudge sundae which was huge and made with love. The decor is what you'd expect from a place called the Logjam. Looks like the inside of a log cabin. Clean and spacious. I will be coming back for sure. $82 for two drinks, two entrees (including an unlimited salad bar), and one dessert. Very affordable. read more

Did research on places to dive in the area and felt The Log Jam restaurant would be nice. Reviews were good and the pictures mouth watering. I had my sights set on the price rib but was feeling little full when we went so I had a lighter dinner of scallops. Parking lot was pretty full but it's large so we found parking. Our party of three was seated right away. Seems the atmosphere is very friendly and several regulars were around. Servers seemed to have been there many years as well. Which had its ups and downs. Down part was they were overly friendly with the regulars that it took awhile for us to get waited on. Our server bright out drinks quickly but got my raspberry trees mixed up with unsweetened. Corrected it quickly so that was a plus. Salad bar was very nice. Not sure about any problems other Yelpers noted but we had a good experience. Salad we made was great. Our entrees came and the food was delicious. One of the few meals that all of us finished completely. We did however wait around for awhile for refills of drinks and to get the check. Our server was busy talking to others for so long that another server came over and cleared our table and thankfully brought the bill. Maybe he knew our server had a daily habit of over talking to others and neglecting the other customers. Our dining experience was great, food was great, just the end was a little lacking. Has it been a little stocker we may have looked at getting dessert. We opted to leaving and stopping at a grocery store to pick up some dessert to bring back to the hotel. read more

The salad bar saves this restaurant. I have been several times in the last 11 years, the food quality has been declining each time while the prices shoot up. By 5 pm on Fridays, there is a line out of the door, but I honestly don't know why. Avoid the duck with its overly sweet sauce and just stick to the salad bar. Had the 8 oz filet mignon. This was one of the most tender pieces of filet I've ever had! Came with fries nice and crisp, and two charred Brussel sprouts that were fantastic. All entrees include a side and HUGE salad bar! This is our go to place up at Lake George. read more

The log jam restaurant is such a cute place that is very fitting of the vibe of Lake George and the Adirondacks. We came here for the fall and the restaurant was decorated to fit the season with leaves and pumpkins. It has a cozy feeling but it is a huge space. After ordering your meal, make your way to the salad bar with a variety of salad and toppings Service was excellent and our waiter was very accommodating despite how busy the place was. I actually forgot to order a clam chowder soup but I was able to mention it to the waiter and he brought me one immediately. The steak was delicious but the other menu items looks good. Keep in mind that the menu changes based on the season. I would love to come back here in a different season to experience the other menu items. A good tip is to call to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant was quite busy when we went. read more

We always stop by the Log Jam when we go to the Lake George Outlets. We love the rustic look of the place and the smell of the wood burning fireplace fits right in. They have best salad bar with all of the fixins. Everything is fresh and the breads are so delicious. My turkey club was very good and my husband had the beef barley soup with his salad bar. The soup a nice thick soup with plenty of beef and vegetables in it. Our server was Cohen who was excellent, he answered all our questions. Menu has decent options and we tend to get sammiches and apps because the salad bar will fill you up haha. We went with a party of 9 on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us pretty fast. I advise to call ahead if possible. Our server was John, very attentive. He explained the menu to us very throughly. We never had an empty plate or glass on the table. Refilled our drinks right away. Our order was filled fairly quickly. While the food is being prepared they have a great salad bar to start with. You name it they had it. They had fresh bread which was ok but would have been better warmed up. I had the chicken velouté which is All natural boneless breast of chicken, seasoned & pan seared, topped with a sour cream & shredded potato crust, over a caramelized onion velouté. Lake George isn't exactly a culinary experience, the restaurants seem to squeeze by on mediocrity, but The Log Jam is consistently excellent food. The service is always really attentive and accommodating and the restaurant in itself is very nice (albeit very dark) cabin. We stopped in for lunch on our way home from Vermont, and had a great meal! The waiter was very attentive, the ambience was very cozy -like a log cabin, and the food was great! My lobster roll had a lot of lobster, and it was delicious. My husband ordered the lamb chops, which he thought were perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce to boot. To not at least make eye contact as you go by, is by far not the way to do your job! Good thing a young lady was assisting him, she did all the work of asking to remove plates as they were emptied, getting things for us as needed, and when I went to her, she ran for the drink that was never brought to my guest. My tip on this $138.00 was not up to par, due to this. I feel bad for her if they share tips, but I couldn't justify more due to that. I had Swordfish, and she had steak. All was just ok. I recently stopped in on my return leg from a Ski trip in Vermont. We needed a place relatively close to highways, that was open for lunch time on a Quasi-Holiday. We got there right at their opening time and to our surprise, they had already seated other diners already! We were seated pretty rapidly too. Our brunch got started right away because their salad bar is complimentary with all entrees! I love this concept. Food and drinks were great. We tried lobster rolls, salads, burgers and chowder. They were all good to the last bite! My only ding (and the reason I pulled a star) is the fact that our waiter forgot my order of clam chowder. So I had to wait a bit. I've been to Lake George so many times and never tried The Log Jam. I think some of the negative reviews kept me away. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. Staff very friendly and the food was great. We went for lunch and had sandwiches, they come with salad bar. Who doesn't love a good salad bar? Haven't seen one in decades. The bar is very well maintained with staff. They are constantly replenishing and cleaning. There are chilled plates, rolls and tons of salad choices and toppings. We saw they had Prime Rib so we came back the next night. I was in Glens Falls for work and our team had dinner at this place it was a beautiful log cabin with cute carved bears throughout the restaurant. The restrooms were small but the entire place was a but small but oddly enough space, felt cozy. Service was awesome, all servers every staff was great! They had salad bar with most entrees and let me tell you the salad bar alone is a meal they had fresh baked bread and fresh churned butter. Every topping you cab ever imagine including potatoes salad, kale salad which was delicious. They offered live lobster . I ordered the seafood pasta ot had scallops, shrimp, lobster with spinach, tomatoes and white sauce it was light and flavorful. We ordered escargo for appetizers and butter garlic shrimp. I can't wait to come back during summer. This was one of the best salad bars I've ever had. I highly recommend, thank you for your great hospitality. read more

Very busy place on the weekend. Wait time was 20 minutes. The building is rustic and dated. The French onion soup was just ok with lots of cheese and onions. The clam chowder was thick and full of clam pieces. Enjoyed the BLT. The pepper bacon was thick and there was plenty of it. The tomato could have been slightly thicker, the mayo sauce was delicious. Been to the Log Jam many, many times over the years. Always a good spot to grab lunch along our travel route. However, this last time through was very disappointing. I ordered the French Dip and salad bar. The soup was good. The salad bar was NOT. The salad bar plates are kept in a 'refrigerated' bin, but doesn't seem like the bin works anymore since plates were actually hot (maybe fresh from being washed?). The bread was stale. The lettuce was pale, old, browning at edges. The beets tasted/were spoiled. Disappointing to say the least. We brought my mother-in-law for her first time to the Log Jam and were embarrassed. Won't be returning since the quality of salad bar - out for everyone to see - made us question the freshness and quality of items in the kitchen for the other menu items. read more

In general, reservations are strongly recommended especially if a holiday weekend. Although our reservation was at 6pm we were seated with our early arrival of 5:30pm for a party of 4. All of the staff were friendly. We were seated in the garden/greenhouse so it had windows. We got our salad and the escargot came out shortly after. Everyone finished their salad and the entree came out shortly after. All of the steaks were prepared to the requested doneness. We ended up at the Log Jam for a work dinner and it didn't disappoint. The salad bar comes with basically all entrees and it's loaded with bread, different types of salad mixes, potato-tuna- and egg salad, loads of toppings and great creamy dressings. There were 9 of us and everyone at least hit the salad bar once. I went twice. For dinner it seemed as if everyone had different choices. I noticed a burger, seafood mac and cheese, chicken tenders, and a few surf and turfs. I chose the prime rib with scallops and that came with a choice of vegetable so I chose the grilled peppers. The meal was perfect. The prime rib was perfect cooked, and it melted in your mouth. The scallops and peppers were excellent as well. I must talk about the ambiance. I love love love that it's a giant log cabin, and was thrilled when they sat us by the fireplace. Everything is designed to make you feel as warm and cozy as possible, and on a cold cold winter day in January, I was happy to make a pit stop here for a bite to eat before heading home. There's a huge salad bar that's pretty impressive. I ate most of my lobster roll, which was just ok. Now, my partner ordered a beef tips pasta dish (the name escapes me) and I kept stealing more and more bites. I think it might have been a special that day, and we were there during that in-between time, too late for lunch and too early for dinner, so I believe they had a limited menu. We didn't get a chance to come here last year so this was on our must try list. It will definitely be a place we return whenever we visit. Nice place in a great location. Our waitress was wonderful.
