Brought a client here as he insisted on coming to a chain establishment for lunch. I ordered the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich and felt like Michael Douglas at the Whammy Burger when it came out. Instead of a pretty sandwich I got a smooshed pile of sadness that every time I tried to take a bite of the filing squirted out of. The avocado slices were not really sliced, more like lumps placed on the chicken and the tomato was so soggy it only aided in lubricating the sandwich into deconstructing itself. Their freshly squeezed OJ is like pulling an orange straight from the tree, cutting it into quarters, and taking a bite! Awesome. What has amazed me most is the efficiency of their service! This is a sit down restaurant which has a drive through! And you might think they have a bunch of premade items under a hot lamp.... nope! You can see into their kitchen as they make their omlettes from scratch! The quality of the food is excellent too! Sure, it may "only" be Americana comfort food, but there are plenty of places that skip on quality and give tasteless, greasy items not really fit for human consumption. I have had one of the best burgers and breakfast here! It's a delicious treat when I visit from San Francisco. Every time I have gone it's always clean and the service is very welcoming. It definitely has a "mom and pop" feel to it - which I absolutely love! I find it very amazing that everything comes locally--yes I did my research. Oh, and for the girl who said the juice isn't fresh squeezed; you should do your homework before ranting. Fresh squeeze orange juice can come in gallon containers, have you never squeezed your own juice at a grocery store before? I am not quite sure why people use yelp to complain about changing tables or anything that honestly won't help me decide whether I want to eat at a certain restaurant. Yelp is a platform used to help potential customers. So if YOU particularly didn't like the Fried Zucchini and someone else did - that's okay! It's not life changing but it's pretty good and you can tell they use fresh ingredients, unlike other places that self proclaim how fresh they are. If you're looking for something that's an in-between of "cheap fast food burger" and "expensive dine-in burger", I'd say this is the place to go. If it weren't for the fresh food, I would give this review one star. Unfortunately, despite the fresh food, this will be the last time I will be back for several reasons. The first reason has to do with their marketing. They had their summer salads on the menu, including their Caesar Salad. I ordered it, but was informed that their summer salads don't start until tomorrow. I was told by the woman at the window they "got ahead of themselves" and put it on the menu. Well, the further you "get ahead of yourselves", the further behind you will get! If anything, at least put a start date on the menu so you don't deceive your customers! Secondly, they bumped up the price without telling me. I was told when I ordered that the total was $13.25, but it wasn't until I got home halfway across town that I found out they charged me $14.00! To top it all off, I found a hair on my blue cheese dressing cup (pictured)! The employees who prepare food really should be wearing hairnets and practicing sanitation, especially during a pandemic. read more

03/29/19. Debbie helped at the drive thru. A little tough at the beginning as she got the order incorrect as she repeated it back to me. I stopped her and stated "Let's start again cause now I'm confused". We quickly got it right and she was charming at the window asking me about my preferences for add ones. Dressings, etc. Great recovery!!! Friday, so I tried the 3 piece fish and chips so I added the fried zucchini and onion rings. Way too much food for lunch but I was planning a Lent dinner leftover. Fish was light and flaky. Actually got 3 1/2 pieces. Love a deal. Onion rings were a bit underdone. Fries were perfect. Zucchini strips are just so unique that there's nothing to compare them to. The ranch dressing is a lovely compliment to this veggie delight lengthwise cut into fourths and deep fried in a light batter. This place is consistent with their prep. Ordered Natural Burger, avocado & bacon on the side, No Cheese. This is the 1/3 lb burger. What I got was!!! Burger with 2 patties (not the 1/3 lb one, cheese on both patties, avocado & bacon on the burger. Also avocado and bacon on the side. Ordered 1/2 lb burger. Avocado & bacon on the side**Suprise!! it's on the burger!!. The worst part was I called them and the obnoxiously asinine manager, Conrad, tells me to look on the burger to make sure because he is positive they don't have bacon, avocado or cheese on them and I can bring them all back (I was 10 miles away) and they would replace them OR I can go back in sometime and they will give me 1/2 off my NEXT order. Food is good. Fruit side is plentiful. Kid's cheeseburger is a really thin. I had the Barn Burger. The jalapeños were nice and crispy. I would have added extra sauce because their sauce is awesome! The one stars was for their food. Customer service is lacking. They pick and choose who to greet. Also, it seems like side conversations were more important than taking orders. Also, make sure to sit in a booth with napkins since majority of them didn't have any. Also, you can't just order a second kid's burger. You have to order the whole meal with sides and drink. This place is one of the best fast food places ever their food is fresh they order it when you make it I will gladly sit in a parking spot for 5 to 10 minutes to have my food made fresh the staff is friendly and very accommodating the price is a little high for fast food but you pay for the quality of the food so I do not mind that at all I have their breakfast burrito almost every morning and their French toast sticks my children really love if you haven't already tried this place I would strongly recommend. read more

If you have yet to stop by Farmer Boys since they opened their Modesto location you have to give them a try. You won't be sorry. They are NOT a fast food restaurant! You might mistake them for one of that ilk but that image dies when you enter the store. The menu is extensive featuring burgers and a lot more. While there tonight I observed a first time customer who was amazed when they served him at his table. He was expecting the fast food model of having to go back to the counter. I heard him say he'd be returning! Another Farmer Boys convert! At first glance the prices "appear" high. There are differences at play that belie that appearance. Are you a Veteran? Are you a Senior Citizen? They offer serious discounts!! I'd rather have that discount than a "free" coffee offered by one of the competitors. They also have a rewards program that gives you a $5.00 reward for every $60.00 you spend. They also offer other periodic rewards. Not shabby at all! The food quality is outstanding, the service matches the food and the store is spotlessly clean! They are not the biggest players in the field and I frankly believe they don't want to be the biggest but rather the best!
