New Years Day 2016! I went to Farmer Boys for the first time. I didn't know the concept on how to order. Their menu is like a restaurant, you order your meal up front , they give you a number, and they bring your meal to you. They have a full menu from Breakfast meals (served all day), burgers, soup, fried fish. It was really busy when I got there for lunch. I didn't wait very long for my meal. I had their french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage & a cheeseburger kids meal. Hey..I was hungry! =) Everything was so good! Staff was friendly. I would come here again when I'm in the area. I would suggest they have more man power. The ladies seem to be running around from all the duties from taking orders, delivering orders, serving coffee and cleaning tables. read more

Food was tasty but service was not too good. I had called in my order as I was short in time. I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes it took me about 25 minutes to get there. I went inside to pay and pick it up but my order was not ready according to the cashier assisting me. No problem, I waited a bit more but noticed a salad which I had ordered, was just sitting there. With 10 more minutes passing by I asked the same person assisting me how much longer was my order going to take she then goes to the back to check and comes back looking puzzled. Another lady worker asks me what did I order and then just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head like saying who knows where your order is. My daughter and her boyfriend just bought a loaded firey chicken sandwich, when they got home it was noticed the sandwich wasn't what they paid for, it was missing most of the ingredients. The sandwich was taken back to the restaurant to show the manager and her staff. They told my daughter and her boyfriend that they could just add the missing ingredients to the sandwich instead of making them another sandwich. My daughter and her boyfriend insisted the staff make them the sandwich they had originally paid for and show them the wrong sandwich to ensure that they didn't just add the missing ingredients. I found this very unprofessional and appalling as I am part of a management team in the food and beverage industry. Food that is returned from outside should be discarded as it should be considered contaminated and harmful to be put back in process. I will never eat here again or recommend this restaurant to anyone else, very unprofessional and unhealthy.... read more

Farmer Boys is one of my main workday lunch locations. I usually get the CA BLT combo with fries. The way they prepare their French fries is special, they're always so crisp. This location can get very crowded at lunch, but food delivery is always fast and the tables are quickly cleaned once they empty. In fact the majority of the time, staff is clearing my trash before I have a chance to do it myself. read more

I ordered one item (French fries) and it took longer than 10 minutes. I only complained after a couple who ordered AFTER I ordered got their big orders first. How do you have time to fix a big order and not have one order of fries ready?? I asked the female who said she's the manager with the name of Isamara or something like that and she found it very acceptable to not have fries out in the order it was received. Which was waaaaay before the large order. The cameras in there restaurant will show how long she took to give me fries that were ordered before a large order. She needs more training on how to work under stress. This farmer boys location is not customer friendly! They do not care about good customer service and the manager was the clear example of that today. She shouldn't manage a team if she can't take control of situations like this that shouldn't ever be an issue. Furthermore, she didn't even bother to offer anything as a resolution to VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! That was extremely unprofessional of her. read more

Apparently a very popular chain around the Riverside area. My boyfriend loved this chain when he interned in the area over the summer but I thought it was okay. Food: -Chilli cheese fries asked for grilled onions. Great portions and fresh and crispy. Pretty good -Farmer boy burger: Nothing special. Ingredients are fresh but that should be a minimum standard. -Grilled chicken wrap: this was my favorite of all the things I ordered. read more

Ran into the same problem here as I did at their Riverside-Allesandro location so at this point, the lack of attention to detail in multiple establishments - though the food is decent diner style food - tells me that the errors are systemic and not just isolated incidences. I rate Farmer Boy's 4 out of 5 stars rather than 3 of 5 as I did originally as Farmer Boys corporate customer service did reach out and promise to address the issue. You can tell a lot by a restaurant by whether or not they can cook basic food items to perfection. I ordered the sausage and eggs with extra crispy hash browns and eggs cooked over easy. The eggs came to the table over hard and the hash browns were raw (white in color) in the middle. This has occurred in other locations I have been to so this is no accident. I returned my food to the counter and politely asked for it to be corrected. Five minutes later I did get over easy eggs on their second attempt but the hash browns - again - were NOT crispy as they were still raw in the middle. Here's a tip, if the hash browns are white in the middle - they are NOT crispy hash browns. I don't get how they don't understand what crispy hash browns are suppose to look like. Regular hash browns are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Crispy hash browns are crunchy on the outside and crunchy on the inside. They are essentially cooked twice. Farmer Boys prides themselves on being a "made to order" restaurant and if that is what they are claiming to be - then make your food the way it is ordered. I am very hesitant to return to any Farmer Boys location but I may return at some future date to see if their corporate office actually addressed the issue. The food is decent diner style food and a 3 or 4 out of 5 stars is a fair rating for this restaurant. But if you like your hash browns crispy, you may want to go somewhere else. read more

All our plates were fresh and made to order. Specifically I asked for a very overdone denver omelet, a received it exactly as ordered, and was delicious! My husband and I usually enjoy Farmer Boy's, but we had a terrible meal at this location this evening. We ordered food to go and both sandwiches were soggy and, quite frankly, inedible. I would allow for some transport time, but we live less than 10 minutes away and we picked up the food within 15 minutes of when we ordered it. The fries were also soggy and the zucchini were so mushy that they doubled over when picked up. They left a puddle of grease under the bag too. We threw most of the meal away. Even though the location is close, we will not be going back. It wasn't cheap either - two combo meals of a club sandwich, a chicken-avocado sandwich, and an order of zucchini was $27 and change. If you want a good Farmer Boy's experience, go to the one on Madison and Indiana, by the Home Depot. The food there is consistently good. read more

We were staying at the nearby Riverside Inn and Spa, but wanted to try breakfast away from the hotel complex. In our Yelp review for breakfast places in Riverside, the top ones seem to be many miles away. We started driving just a few blocks and noticed Farmer Boys and stopped in about 9AM. They have a large parking lot and the restaurant looked modern and clean. It is a quick service type restaurant and food is ordered at the counter and brought to you. We had a french toast combo with eggs and bacon ($6.39), a veggie omelet with fruit ($6.09) and coffee ($1.89). Our server, Magaly, was friendly and seemed very sure handed and quick. There were only artificial creamers for the coffee, which was a little disappointing. I prefer half/half. Our food was quickly brought out to us and presentation and quantity looked fine. It was as good as it looked, nothing really extraordinary, but it was hardy and filling. Servers frequently came by to refill our coffees. Next time we are in the area of Farmer Boys (they are located in southern California), we plan to stop in for a quick bite to eat. read more
