Went for brunch. The food was good but nothing extraordinary in my opinion. The plating was pretty but the egg dishes were just ok tasting. The ambiance is always fun; casual but high end. The service is great. The salted butter was incredible and the espresso martini was perfect. Not too sweet as i requested. Park in the lot for a small fee.

We had a later at night dinner visit to Farmshop after an event at the bookstore in the same center. The place was packed on a Thursday night but we still got seated fairly quickly. The host and our server were super friendly and seemed genuinely happy that we were there. There is a lot to choose from on the menu for us vegetarians, but we weren't too hungry so we just got the Silvia Brussels Sprouts which were delicious na beautiful with the pretty leaves adorning the top of the dish, and the Smashed Yukon Gold Potatoes. We loved these so much! We had never heard of chermoula before. It's a delicious North African marinade that informed the flavor of this dish...it reinvented potato flavors for us and we couldn't stop thinking about it (and salivating) for days after eating them. There are a number of other things we could have ordered had we been hungrier and their cocktails looked AMAZING (if only I wasn't driving...next time, Farmshop.) I wish they had a spot near Santa Clarita where we lived, but next time we're in Brentwood or at an event at the nearby bookstore, it'll be a no-brainer to go back to Farmshop again!

A small place at neighborhood nice spot with a mini market, good coffee, and fresh food. The service is very attentive and friendly.

The best hot bar in the west side. I love their salads & chicken curry. The vibe in there is amazing and staff is just wonderful. My favorite coffee is also from farmshop.

We stopped in on a Friday around noon without a reservation and the hostess was able to accommodate us with the caveat that there was a reservation exactly on the hour after us. The farm chic spot was bustling at lunch. The food is beautifully plated and equally yummy. We started with octopus ceviche and chickpea fritters. We shared a chopped salad and pastrami sandwich. Everything was fresh and quite tasty. Can't wait to go back.

5 Stars - A Perfect Experience from Start to Finish! I took my mom here for Mother's Day and we had the best time! The ambiance and hospitality were top-notch--warm, welcoming, and effortlessly chic. The adjacent shop is fabulous and full of beautifully curated finds. We were pampered with roses and dessert, and every bite of our meal was incredible. We started with a blood orange spritz and the artichoke appetizer--delicious! I had the angry crab with squid ink pasta, and my mom had the short rib with bone marrow--both were outstanding. The menu is fresh, creative, and full of flavor. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend for any occasion (or any excuse to treat yourself).

Farmshop has been over for well over ten years, and my sorry self finally made its way over on a random Tuesday. What brought me here specifically was the fact a coffee shop I like stopped carrying their delicious chocolate croissants. After some poking around, I discovered the coffee place had them brought in from here. This made me very happy since I knew where I could find a reliable croissant. Turning onto 26th St. from San Vicente, I dreaded seeing the valet umbrellas in the lot so I noticed some metered parking on both sides of the street. Hopefully you're lucky where you will find one on your side; as turning around on this busy street will be tough during peak hours. I think .25 cents earns you 12 minutes (which is great compared to say, BH or West Hollywood) and I made my way down a random pathway, thankfully seeing signs for Farmshop. I had to wait in a small line but I didn't mind this as it gave me time to check things out. Beside me was prepared food that looked Really good, while the pastries and such in front of me didn't help. A nice guy helped me out with my order of oat milk cocoa and what I originally came in for. My name was called a few minutes later for my drink and I was on my way. Passing through the sit down restaurant area up front, there was a large amount of people in this area, and there might have been a patio outside through another door. As for what I purchased, I enjoyed everything, especially the cocoa which was actually HOT! I would consider coming back here due to a great first experience, even with the dreaded parking situation, the food was worth it.

I went here with my friend Bob and all I can say is the food is absolutely excellent. We tried so many things on the menu. I was so focused on the food. I barely took photos. The atmosphere is great and everything is just so fresh and flavorful I would definitely be coming back.

My first time here and I was so spoiled by my friends. We got the large portion of caviar to share. 9/10. the caviar could have been better(?) like a bit more poppy. Crispy artichokes come with pear and burrata. 8.5/10. Pastrami sandwich- 8.5/10. Spicy crab pasta- 10/10. Egg frittata- 6/10. goat cheese was the best part of it. carrot cake- 9/10. very moist and not too sweet. located in a shared space with a grocery store. loud and crowded during lunch.

The market is beautiful, full of high-end food items requiring varying levels of preparation. Priced accordingly given the prime location in Brentwood/Santa Monica. Even for a Thursday lunch, Farmshop requires a reservation and our early arrival has us waiting for our table. Only half the tables were occupied at any given time so I would have appreciated it if they offered us a seat with some water right then. The food is good. Great ingredients in a fresh and earthy Avocado Hummus. Perfect on crispy strips of lavash, best when shared. The House Made Pastrami is an entree, a great little rye and tender meat combo with a side of slaw. Good, straightforward food, stuff you'll feel good eating. You'll leave full, not stuffed, at a cost that is not unsubstantial. A lovely place for a treat but a bit too luxe for a regular stop.

There small oatmeal is an overpriced snack

It's located in the old Clock Tower building, and the Art Deco decor is absolutely stunning--dark enough to hide a bad day but vibrant enough for a girls' night. The Vibe: It's loud, lively, and perfectly "bohemian chic". If you're coming on a weekend, prepare for a crowd, but it's the good kind of crowded where everyone looks like they just came from a gallery opening. The Food: I'm still thinking about the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--it was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and came with a fennel-apple slaw that actually felt fresh. We also shared the Bacon Wrapped Dates (obviously) and the Hand Cut Kennebec Fries, which arrive in a bowl so huge it could basically be its own zip code. The Drinks: Their Happy Hour is arguably the best in the city. I had the Japanese Dream with matcha, and it was expertly crafted--not too sweet, which is my biggest pet peeve. The "Misfit" Moment: The service can be a tiny bit slow when it's "rammed," and there's a 4% kitchen fee that feels a bit unnecessary, but they make up for it with those complimentary sea salt chocolate chip cookies at the end. They are warm, gooey, and life-changing. One major heads-up: I heard a rumor they might be closing their doors on April 18th due to some landlord drama, so get there while you still can.

This place is a gem…read more The vibe is friendly, the place just "classy" enough, the staff was great. The food was top notch... a burger and a salad. Sounds simple but there are many ways to screw up a burger and a salad. And there are fewer ways to knock it out of the park and they did just that. I don't think people appreciate what goes into a well-thought out salad. This was mostly a kale-based salad (I think) so they've already chosen the vegetable equivalent of making life difficult. But the size and shape and quality of the ingredients was not lost on me. The torn versus diced chicken, the large pieces of nuts, the long thin spears of apple. So you KNOW what is on your fork and what is going into your mouth and can appreciate it. What impressed me also was that when the table/booth next to us was vacated, one of the staff came over and DETAILED that booth... Looked for crumbs in the cracks of the cushion... pulled out the two chairs facing the bench and thoroughly swept under the table like he was opening up for the day or clearing a crime scene or something. Why can't we have places like this in the Valley? Is it because we are poor and mostly in-bred? I get it... but we like torn chicken and clean booths, too, ya know. (They had REAL candles. Not flicker LED fake candles. At some point all the restaurateurs had a pow-wow and agreed you do NOT let valley people get around real candles. A decision that I wholeheartedly agree with but I miss them.) Anyway. Try it.

We went to Diner Antonette last night for diner and had half a good meal…read more First of all, the waiter, Johnny was wonderful, he was so kind, professional and on top of things. The restaurant itself was very cool, it had an old diner feel but with the decor, lighting and music it was hip and trendy. All the tables were full and the menu looked very interesting. They took old diner staples and modernized it. Great concept!! We started off with garlic bread which was two pieces of cibata bread with 3 bulbs of roasted garlic in olive oil. The presentation was beautiful and while it was messy, it was yummy. The ratio of garlic to bread was off. There was so much garlic and only two pieces of bread. It should have been 4 pieces. For dinner, I ordered the crispy chicken (fried chicken) with greens which was very good. The breading was spiced perfectly and the chicken was moist and yummy. My husband went for the cheese burger, cooked medium rare with fries. Unfortunately, the burger came out well done and Johnny immediately took it back to and had another burger made. After a long while and mind you I had to eat by myself kind of killing the experience, the burger came back and again it was more well than medium which was very frustrating. Johnny and the manger of the restaurant stopped by and asked to do it again and he declined. They said they will take it off the bill which was very nice. The bill came and when I reviewed it, we saw the billed included both burgers (original and the replacement) with the two credits, as well as, a 4 percent kitchen charge. However, when it summed up the tip, it based it on everything that came to our table. For example, the original bill if everything was perfect should have been $75 it added the replacement burger and I increased it to $100. So the calculated 20% tip was $20 based on the $100. My check balance with the burger credit was $62 including tax, plus a $19 tip. I knew exactly what was going on but since Johnny was an attentive and good waiter we wanted to make sure he was compensated for his work. I wasn't going to make a big deal about the 4% for the kitchen but in this case, it was there incompetence that caused the problem and that should have never been passed to us. Overall, would we go back to Diner Antoinette on our next holiday to Santa Monica, probably not.

It swings from Vietnamese small plates to a straightforward steak, and the range never settles into a point of view -- it reads less like a confident eclectic kitchen than a grab bag. The fried red snapper was the standout: crisp, well-cooked, good enough to stand on its own. It came with a fish sauce for dipping that it didn't need -- a wedge of lemon on the side would have suited it far better. The Vietnamese crab cake was a real miss; I couldn't get past it. The dumplings were fine but forgettable. Service ran to extremes. Our server was warm and eager, almost too eager -- he pushed a bottle of wine we weren't sold on, and we ordered it anyway. Then, after all that attentiveness, he disappeared toward the end of the meal and never came back. The wine list was fine, nothing memorable. There's real skill in that kitchen -- the snapper proves it -- but the meal never added up to more than its parts. I left full, not delighted.
