    Excellent Americano.

This place is a gem. The vibe is friendly, the place just "classy" enough, the staff was great. The food was top notch... a burger and a salad. Sounds simple but there are many ways to screw up a burger and a salad. And there are fewer ways to knock it out of the park and they did just that. I don't think people appreciate what goes into a well-thought out salad. This was mostly a kale-based salad (I think) so they've already chosen the vegetable equivalent of making life difficult. But the size and shape and quality of the ingredients was not lost on me. The torn versus diced chicken, the large pieces of nuts, the long thin spears of apple. So you KNOW what is on your fork and what is going into your mouth and can appreciate it. What impressed me also was that when the table/booth next to us was vacated, one of the staff came over and DETAILED that booth... Looked for crumbs in the cracks of the cushion... pulled out the two chairs facing the bench and thoroughly swept under the table like he was opening up for the day or clearing a crime scene or something. Why can't we have places like this in the Valley? Is it because we are poor and mostly in-bred? I get it... but we like torn chicken and clean booths, too, ya know. (They had REAL candles. Not flicker LED fake candles. At some point all the restaurateurs had a pow-wow and agreed you do NOT let valley people get around real candles. A decision that I wholeheartedly agree with but I miss them.) Anyway. Try it.

This is a true Californian coastal restaurant with a fun, social scene. Reservations are strongly suggested any day of the week because they are known for their Happy Hour and regular menu. On the evening that we arrived, we placed a reservation knowing that we would still have to wait and we had hoped for a seat at the bar. It was very crowded so we were able to get a drink and wait outside. The evening was lovely and we enjoyed paople watching until we were seated. Service was good and our food arrived fresh and at the right temperature. It was a fun evening and the neighborhood is also really nice to check out before or after the meal.

First time in, and we had a great meal. We put our name on and walked around for a bit since it was a bit of a wait. Once we were seated the service was excellent. We had a duo duo - the chips were perfectly salted and warm, with guac and "queso" - basically a creamy pimento cheese dip which was delicious. I had the generously-sized Ding's Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and my dining partners had a burger with fries and the ribs. They were all very good, but I think it was a tie between the ribs and the chicken sandwich for a winner. Laidback vibes - seems likes like a spot people in the neighborhood gravitate toward.

GET THE SMOKED ALBACORE dip, do it! It's soooo good the salting crackers are the perfect combo. I also ordered the shrimp it came Ruth cause of melted butter delicious! Couldn't get enough. I ordered the cheeseburger - this is their popular item on the menu they prepare the meat every morning for that days business. It took about 25 minutes for a table but we grabbed a glass of wine while we waited. Our waiter was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. It's perfect for family- kid friendly, large parties and date nights. I would definitely return for the apps and burger. I'm certain everything on the menu is just as great as what I ordered.

R&D Kitchen never disappoints. The chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the Chinese noodle salad was fresh and delicious. Great food, great service, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience. They don't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait during busy times--but it's well worth it.

You have to go here. Casual or fancy. You can choose the vibe. They have a classic bar menu that can be a classy dinner. Sit and enjoy. The service is respectful and fun. You will feel like you are special and that's why you went out to spend your bucks, right? Oh, and it's cashless only. So if you don't want the government to know where you ate, make someone else pay.

Greeted by our very kind waiter, we were served the most delicious toasted bread, butter(s) and rock salt from La Boulangerie. As a film nut, of course I ordered the Cinema Paradiso, this is a very imaginative cocktail recipe, like a an Old Fashioned but with a movie theater twist, kindly served with a pinch of candy kettle-corn at our table by the mixologist herself; what a playful and tasty delight! For starters, we are ordered the Mini-French-Onion Grilled Cheese and Hamachi Crudo. Both absolutely delicious. The Hamachi Crudo Leche de Tigre sauce is beyond perfect. The balance of flavors between charriness of the bread and melted cheeses, and tangy onion soup dip...just wow. Then the steak! Accompanied by a delicious Châteauneuf-du-Pape, we shared between two, a perfectly cooked (medium rare of course, don't be basic) N.Y. Strip (au poivre sauce on the side) with au gratin, and it came with nice little on the vine roasted tomatoes and a little leafy salad...like I told Chef when he came to our table post meal: "INCROYABLE!". Every-Single-Bite!! But, aside every dish being perfect and the service being above and beyond, what literally brought me to tears was the dessert. I haven't had "floating islands" since my mom used to make it many, many moons ago (unfortunately ma is now at early dementia), and when I tasted my first spoonful here, I couldn't hold back the tears, memories flooded and complimented by the preceding meal which was perfect...too many feels. Merci Beaucoup! For a VERY special culinary experience to all at La Monique. Please don't change a thing. I rarely ever make the effort to write a review, but this is very much worth every second. We'll be coming back for sure. Feel like I just discovered fire.

This is completely unacceptable and feels like fraud. To make things worse, the food was completely average -- nothing special at all and definitely not worth the prices they charge. I would strongly advise others to double-check their receipts and statements after visiting this restaurant.

Our server, Murray, was so patient with us and was amazing all around. We were very indecisive and he gave us great recommendations, and was attentive, welcoming, and when needed, gave us our space to enjoy the meal. Thank you, Murray! We started with the Rye me a River cocktail and the Mezcal cocktail which were both perfect for our tastes. My mezcal drink was beautiful with a black salt rim and beautiful Smokey flavor (along with the word Chelsea spelled out on my ice cube). My friend loved his Rye me a River cocktail. For food, we started with the oysters and lobster sliders which I don't get a picture of, but they were both great!!! The lobster sliders were actually my favorite bite of the whole meal. My friend devoured the oysters, he loved them so much. We then had the boar ragu tagliatelle which was excellent. It was sweeter than most ragus that I've had, but that was my friend's favorite dish of the whole night. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and the pistachio crust was delicious. We ordered steak frites and asked that the fries be truffle fries, which they kindly accommodated. So glad we asked because the truffle fries were delicious, they came with a cilantro dipping sauce that was delectable! The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the gravy accompaniment was an excellent complement to the steak. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate turnover for my friend's birthday. Yall, it was SO good! It really exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back! My friend was so happy with his birthday meal!! We found street parking, but they do have valet if you need it as well. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, great for a date night. They have dimmer lighting, and great booths and tables throughout the space. The bar is beautiful and has a small tv screen in case you want to watch something but it's small enough and out of the way that it's not distracting at all if you don't want to watch any sporting event.

Wonderful combo with the watermelon, haven't had it like this before and would repeat. Sweet Corn & Ricotta Ravioli: Thai green curry based sauce. It was delicious but deceptively spicy. My kids tried eating some but it was too hot for them and we ate the rest. Seared Tandoori Scallops: Saffron risotto, tarragon beurre blanc. The risotto was so good! I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. The staff are kind and attentive, even with us being tucked away in the back corner and hidden by a curtain panel.

The beauty of Mediterranean food is that it's perfect to share with large groups. Because I had some fellow vegetarians (and veg friendly people) with me, ordering was quite fun. We almost ordered every vegetarian mezze, which included: Mezze sampler: the Muhammara was my favorite of them all and the naan was amazing. Very soft, but flavorful. Sprouted cauliflower: interesting way they made it. Golden tahini had a nice touch. Pickled vegetables: loved them Greek fries: can't go wrong with that Roasted sweet potato: surprisingly quite good and a very different palate from the fries. Baked feta: interesting, but this wasn't a fan favorite amongst the group. While our non-vegetarian colleagues enjoyed the octopus, we were nearly full with just the mezze. We decided to go ahead and order the mushroom skewers while the other side enjoyed the tomahawk. Everyone was full after all this food. The cocktails kept flowing. I stuck with just one Urfa mezcalita while enjoying the views for the remainder of the night. This lasted until dessert where plenty were ordered. I got a chocolate gelato not realizing I'd get two scoops. Sadly I could only finish one scoop. Anyhow, there are heaters all over the rooftop so that people can enjoy throughout the year. They do have to crank it up as needed, but it's there. Can't mention price much because this was work sanctioned, but it was a great decision.
