Update** this response is to the doctors comment below. I wore my retainers every single day for 11 years. (Ask my mom... I'm sure you remember her interrogating you for all those brackets your assistants broke and we paid for). After 11 years the slanted teeth and gap between my front two teeth irritated me to the point where I had to get a second set of braces. I couldn't even do Invisalign because they needed so much work. The other Doctor shaved my teeth and closed the gap and secured it with a permanent wire behind it, fixed my slanted teeth and also fixed my overbite (trust me, even I noticed the huge difference). Do please, do not tell me my teeth are "perfect". I can assure you perfect teeth don't need a second set of braces. Spare yourself the excuses. read more

Dr. Zand did the most amazing job on my teeth. Several other orthodontists told me I would need 2-3 years of treatment, at least. She corrected my overbite in half that time, and my teeth look perfect now. I get compliments on them all the time. I highly recommend. read more

Honestly i had seen some of her work on my friends and relatives and they seemed satisfied with the outcome. Although Dr. Zand and her staff are very kind i was not pleased with my teeth! She couldnt fix my bite and told me when she took the braces off that my teeth will come down and my bite will be perfect... Which was not the case. I dont see much of a difference and wasted 2 in a half years and money comjnv here which was the worst decision ever. Go somewhere else even if they charge more than she does trust me there is a reason for that becaus you actually see results! read more

Dr. Zand was great. I've been to many dentists over the years in different cities all over the states, I just wish I had met Dr. Z sooner. She was attentive, and explained everything she was doing and showed genuine concern for my well being. If there is a better DDS, I haven't met her yet. read more

Anything medical related scares the living crap out of me. Especially when it comes to dentistry, where someone has sharp objects in your mouth for an extended period of time. I had to face my fear as my crooked smile finally became to much to bear. After visiting 2 orthodontists that I was recommended to from family friends, I felt like I was sitting in a car dealership negotiate the purchase price of the car instead of my braces. None of my questions were addressed, both doctors didn't listen to a word I said, and basically treated me like just another person in line. Once the frustration from my first two experiences subsided, I listen to a friend who referred me to Dr. Zand's office. Whoa, what a difference! It's nice where a doctor actually listens to you. I had many questions and Dr. Zand patiently addressed each and every one of them. She was attentive to my concerns and only focused on what I needed. I never got the feeling that I was being sold, which is a relief since I'm covering most of the expense for the braces out of pocket. The other 2 doctors told me that I had to where braces for at least 3 years, but Dr. Zand assured me that it would be no more than 18 months. 6 months into wearing the braces and I've seen a dramatic improvement. During a recent visit, Dr. Zand said that I may be able to remove the braces after 12 months. It's one of the few times I've left a doctor's office with a smile on my face. If you're looking for a comforting experience with a doctor who will listen to you and not think of you as a walking talking dollar sign, then look no further. I decided to try this practice because location was in my vicinity. Establishment was very clean and nice. The staff was absolutely friendly specially Evita in the front. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable, extremely friendly. Dr. Zand Is one of the best dentists I've ever consulted and visited. She explains every procedure step by step, making sure you understand the whole process which will take 1 to 2 years, depending on your case. If I could give less than one star I would. She is not supposed to be in business. I am questioning all the licenses that she has on her walls. Who gives it to her????? I went to her and she took out my wisdom teeth + 4 other healthy teeth. And she completely ruined my face. Now after years past my jaw is cricked + one of my nostrils is blocked + my ear + I have a TMJ now because of her stupidity. As soon as I payed my last payment she took out my braces , I had them for one year and 9 months. I had retainers which didn't fit from the beginning, it always hurt specially the bottom one. I went back to her after the wire broke. The front desk bulldog told me, we can send it for a repair or you can pay for another pair of retainers. I was student at that time and I payed all of the payments out of my pocket so I didn't want to spend anything anymore, so I told her repair please. After a week I got it back with the plastic burned. Which lead me in so much discomfort . I told the front desk bulldog that What is this? She said this it the best they can do . Take it or leave it. That was the last time I went to her till my jaw got cracked. I went back and she told me she has to charge me again. And I told her this is because of your wrong doing. She doesn't take responsibility for her mistakes and she only thinks about her pocket. DON'T GO TO HER!!!! RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!!!! read more

I went to this dr bcuz i was told she is good and she may be, but she doesnt spend enough time with her patients. The staff is nice, but it seems she tries to ignore her patients as much as possible. I always admired doctors who explain things while they are treating so you know waht you are up against. She will see you for a couple minutes and leave the rest to the girls. Also, their hours are terrible. They probably work 3 days a week or something which is badddddd bcuz if something happens with your braces and you need to go see her, THEY ARE CLOSED SO YOU HAVE TO WAIT. and god forbid it happens on a thurs, youll have to wait 3 days. read more

During my last visit on July 31, 2012, after receiving the full payment, Dr. Zand refused to complete her job, verbally insulted me in front of her staff by calling me mad, and demanded that I leave her office with open brackets injuring my mouth and causing bleeding. She stated that because of the shape of my teeth, it is medically impossible to align them. When I asked her to give me a paper regarding her refusal to complete the job, she laughed at me and mockingly asked, "Why, what are you going to do about it?" Dr. Zand violated my privacy rights, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and doctor and patient confidentiality by posting my full face "before" pictures on her office wall without my approval. I told Dr. Zand that I want my pictures to be removed and my privacy be respected. Her response was that my pictures are her property and that she will post them anywhere she pleases. This is a direct violation of HIPAA, since she is exploiting my full face images for her personal gain. On August 15, 2012 another orthodontist checked my teeth and confirmed that there is nothing medically impossible about aligning my teeth; that she had no valid excuse for refusing me the service for which I had paid in full. Since I had lost my trust in Dr. Zand, I wrote her a letter asking to refund my money so that I can pay the new orthodontist to complete her job. After she had refused my request, I filed a claim with American Arbitration Association (AAA) regarding this matter. The AAA reviewed the "Dental Service Agreement" which Dr. Zand had concocted and executed, and noted that it conflicts with California Law. Specifically, the agreement states that: "The prevailing party in any arbitration on pursuant to this agreement shall be awarded all costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees and arbitrators' fees in prosecuting or defending the claim in arbitration, but not to exceed $5,000 in amount." "Any party initiating arbitration under this agreement shall file with his petition a bond or cash security in an amount equal to Five Hundred Dollars ($500) which shall provide security for attorneys' fees and costs in the event that the moving party shall not prevail." Dr. Zand refused to sign the requested post-dispute submission documents. Accordingly, on December 11, 2012 the AAA declined to administer my case. I had no choice but to file a claim with Glendale Small Claims Court on January 22, 2013. The hearing was scheduled for April 23, 2013. Dr. Zand decided to hire an attorney from the same law office that the AAA had assigned to be a neutral arbitrator between myself and her. On April 8, 2013 her attorney sent me a letter demanding that I dismiss my lawsuit and submit the dispute to arbitration, otherwise they will file a petition with the court and make me pay their costs for filing a petition in addition to her attorney fees. On April 09, 2013 Dr. Zand filed a Request to Postpone the trial, in order to have time to enforce arbitration agreement. The trial of my case is postponed to July 17, 2013. Now another doctor is treating my teeth with excellent skills and human compassion. This makes me wonder as to why Dr. Zand was so hateful toward me when I fully paid and trusted her. On May 25, 2013 it will be three years since Dr. Zand started her treatments and assured me that after two years I will have perfectly aligned teeth. As of today, I still have braces. Her unethical, violent and unlawful conduct has caused me serious emotional and psychological damage, loss of my time, money and health, interfered with my school and work. I am a full-time student; I work part-time in order to pay for my braces. My experience with Dr. Zand has been a complete nightmare. No one deserves the kind of treatment that I have endured from her. As a human, US citizen, and California resident, my rights have been totally violated by Dr. Zand. I am seeking a full refund in addition to all medical and legal costs caused by her. My life is not the same; I am dealing with emotional distress and depression, I am still suffering because of her unfair practice. Please take appropriate measures to protect not only me, but other consumer as well, by making Dr. Zand understand that she is not above the law. read more

I had Xray of my teeth taken in her office sometimes about maybe July of 2015 and as it was after hours they said they cannot verify my insurance and I need to pay myself which I did. Since then I went numerous times to her office and asked them to fill out the claim with my insurance so I can get refunded. They told me we already gave you the date and the copy of your Xrays you go ahead and do it yourself. Another time they told me that their accountant is at a remote location and they cannot do this and refused to cooperate with me and do their job. Finally couple months ago I was so furious that I filed a grievance with my insurance about this. My insurance agent told me they didn't file the claim properly that's the reason you don't get refunded. Finally her office called me to give me a check for $15.00 instead of $210 and then after I worked with my insurance again and thru the grievance they refunded me properly after months and months of contacting them. This was not right at all. Also I should mention that two other periodontists who looked at my xrays taken in her outdated office didn't find them clear and perfect and I took another set in another office. This was totally wrong and never ever happened to me in any other doctor's office in my life. The money was not the big issue here for me it baffled me why they are not claiming and reporting this properly!!!! No star for her from me. read more

don't go here! so my mom took me here to when I was 13 years to have a nice smile I need it to have braces for 2 years only that's what she said in the beginning, so 2 years passed it was time for to get my braces off then the last month she surprising found out she had to take one of my front tooth out because it was bad and it was really necessary to take it out, and I have to be with braces for only 1 more year lol (more more Money) okay my mom said okay! I love Dr. Zand! She is one of the kindest orthodonists I have met. She really wants to help and is not after the money like most Orthodontists are. She always recommends what is best for your teeth. It may not always be what we want to hear but shes very honest. She helped me make my crowded smile into a beautiful one for my wedding. Not to mention my impacted canine that was hiding all the way back in my pallet. Most people recommended removing the baby canine and having an implant, but your natural teeth are always better and Dr. Zand helped what seemed impossible come to reality. My impacted tooth is now in place and really it was ALL WORTH IT! Patience is a virtue. If you trust Dr. Zand and do everything she asks in maintaining your teeth then you will not be disappointed. I was referred to Dr. Zand by family and friends and I am completely satisfied with my results. My teeth were crowded and my smile was all messed up, after 2 years I have a perfect smile and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Zand is very professional and so is the staff. I never had a problem with customer service and I was taken care of quickly any time I had an issue with my braces. its funny how there are a lot of comments on here saying that she is a bad dentist and that the furniture is outdated and that they charge too much. first and foremost she is an orthodontist not a dentist. next is the furniture, what difference does it make if it is new or old, you are there for the braces, not for sitting around and reading magazines. the last thing i have to say is about the payments. every time I went, there was always someone upset about why they have to pay so much. if those people took their time and understood everything before signing their contract they wouldn't be fighting in the first place. everything is written clearly in the contract and the receptionist, Evelyn, explains everything on the contract before the procedure begins.
