Azita Beheshti (aka Azi) is forever one of the very besttttt!! Another 6 years have passed since my first review and I am still not letting anyone else touch my hair except for Azi. Nothing has changed in the amount of attention and care she puts in her work, and she is always up to date with products and hair styles of the season/ year. I had a terrible experience at Farré. I was first put with a lady that didn't know how to style hair. She left 7 hair brushes in my hair "to curl it", weighing down my head and burning my neck. Then, Farhad came to finish the job. He proceeded to tell me my hair was too thin and that I clearly don't like to get haircuts. I left unhappy with the service and my hair. I gotta tell ya, Farre (Farhad) is a first class gentleman. He runs a nice operation, takes care of his clients and even caters to creative needs. Here is the scene, it is late Saturday afternoon, or rather evening. I am in a huge rush since I am to meet up with friends down in Long Beach but my fav salon, Blushington was like, totally booked. I even asked if I could use the VIP area for $20 but Blushington just couldn't accomodate since they were not only booked but the VIP area was jammed with girls primping and readying themselves for a Saturday night out on the town. I panic thinking, okay, the more expensive alternatives are Make Up Forever as well as perhaps Make Up Mandy since all are within a vicinity. At this point, I don't need a makeover but simply a well lit mirror and a quiet place to sit to make myself up. If an artist is available, fine, if not, no problem just as well. I drive west on Sunset from Blushington and see out of the corner of my eye, a salon and stop to go in. A young female clerk asks if she can help me, ie. did I need my hair done and I asked when do they close as it was just after 6pm. She replies 5pm and I am thinking but there are at least 2 or 3 people here, maybe they are just finishing up but I worry they'll close. I ask if I can simply pay them $20 to use a salon station simply to put on make up. She says I'll have to ask the owner. Farhad is working on a client but I ask him anyway, and he says huh? He has never had anyone simply asked to use a salon station to do make up. He said he is busy and can't do the make over and I told him, no worries, I am doing it myself and simply need a mirror, chair and some lighting and I am good to go and offered the money for his trouble. He says fine but they're closing soon and I can have 15 minutes. I use 30 minutes, he is cool, his staff is entertained by my quick change since I was so drab coming in, ie. no make up, jewelry; I was just wearing a shirt and shorts. I offered him the $20 since I was pleased to have been able to come in on such a moments notice and almost making them stay even longer when they were really closed. He wouldn't take the money and said have a nice evening. Now how sweet is that?!? In this town of millions of people, there are still amongst us kindness and attention when you sometimes just don't expect it. I can't vouch for his skills other than to say the clients I saw that evening appeared very pleased with his work. I've been to this place about 4 times and the lady usually does me right. I think it's 45 bucks for a man's cut which is about 20 bucks more than I'd like to spend, but what are the alternatives, looking like an ass? If you go on a Saturday there will probably be some kind of Farsi wedding party there getting all done up and they will probably be making really really loud noises that sound like a cross between a police siren and a whooping crane. read more

Farre (Farhad), the owner and master hairstylist/makeup artist/magician, is amazing and worth every expensive penny he charges. Come here for a special haircut or an updo, and if you can afford it, your makeup for special occasions. Everything he touches turns to gold. Staff is snooty and generally unhelpful, so don't expect to be pampered. Some of the regulars will impose themselves on the stylists, and you may find that someone who arrived after you will be helped first. Be ready to fight for your place in line. Location is on Sunset Blvd. There's street parking but you may get frustrated circling to find it. Be wary of street signs that require you to turn your wheels if you park on the steep side street off Sunset. You will get ticketed if you don't obey. That said, I still come here because Farre works magic and he's worth the traffic, the cuts in line, and annoying staff. read more

I had permanent makeup done there by Elnez Shariat. Elnez is a professional in every degree. She did my lips, eyeliner and eyebrows. She constantly cared for my comfort and took her time. The colors she chose were perfect. I am very happy with the results. I would highly recommend Elnez for any cosmetic services. She recently moved to the Farre salon. It is a beautiful salon. Farhad is simply the best! Getting married is stressful. You want everything to be perfect and Farhad knows that. I had several trials with him and every time his hairstyling was a work of art. He is not just talented but extremely passionate. He truly wants his clients to look their best and he is an expert when it comes to bridal hair. My hair held throughout the entire day and night of my wedding. We did a photoshoot in Pasadena, where it was 95 degrees and I danced until I was sweating, people hugged me and my hair still stayed. AWFUL!!! Half ass blow-drys- she didn't round brush at all!! Just blow-dried with her fingers. My hair was 1/2 dry when she then started to flat iron over my damp hair. The whole thing took about 20 minutes. My hair was a hot mess! And also, I hate to bring ethnicity into the equation. I've been here for just about everything: haircut, blowdry, makeup, hair up do, waxing and eyebrows and have always been pleased. It has become my go to place. Waxing/Eyebrows: The lady who does waxing also does amazing eyebrows, especially for thick ethnic eyebrows (like mine!) and she's so super fast and clean. Makeup and Hair: The main make up artist is also great, especially for big events where you'll be in the photographs because he tends to pile it on. I was a bridesmaid, and I looked amazing in the photos even though I was initially hesitant because it was more make up than I was comfortable with. I suppose you could ask them to do lighter make up. As for hair, the main hair guy can do whatever you want, just take a photo of what you're thinking and he can definitely replicate it. I wanted a chic up do and he definitely delivered. It's a Persian salon, but don't let that scare you because I have non-Persian friends that have been happy with the results as well. Certainly give them a try. Parking: You want to park on the side streets just south of sunset, there's free street parking half a block away. You can also look for meters on Sunset or on the side streets north of sunset. read more

I love this salon! I come here every 4-6 weeks to get my roots done and my highlights done every other visit. I had Farhad do my hair and make up for my wedding last year. His salon is worth every dollar. They are always busy but you can come in and they will take care of you without an appointment. I would drive here no matter where I live in Southern California in the future. Even if that means a few hours. Saturdays they are usually busy in the mornings especially if there is a bride. So book an appointment Friday or later in the afternoon on the weekends. If you get your haircut then you get a free blow out. Don't let all the Persians scare you away. They are always having fun and they know how to make you have true California Blonde hair look amazing. Moro is always amazing with my hair. I can't thank them enough! I'm giving a one star to this salon because it doesn't allow me to give it zero stars! The main hair dresser, Farhad, is just simply rude, arrogant, and has no respect for your time and when your appointment is. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and he just went on greeting others and fixing their hair as though I don't exist and when I complained, all I got was a dirty look and continuing to ignore. After an hour and 15 minutes he gave me the absolute worst hair do ever. When he realized I was unhappy with his work, he motioned to this girl they called Azi who looked like she really wanted me to have it by charging me more than their usual fee! I paid because I didn't want to make a scene thinking I will dispute the charges with my credit card later. This guy Farhad is so full of him self and his charges are so high for the horrible work he may decide to do. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and avoid this terrible place. read more
