It's a nice, decent pizza place conveniently within walking distance of PLU. Often I'll go there for special events with friends, and even when we have a large crowd they always are on top of service. I've never had a bad service there. This place is hit and miss -- lately more hit than miss, but I'm skeptical based on previous experiences. We first went here in late 2007 and swore we'd not come back and of course, we went back once or twice under duress. Until election night 2008 -- a 2 1/2 hour wait in line at the polling place all of a half-block from Farelli's... so what did we do, we starving, bored, waiting voters? We ordered carry-out from Farelli's, of course. And it was the best thing I've ever tasted... but then again, at that point, instant ramen noodles would have gotten the same review... anyhow, they were really nice and attentive while we waited for the carry-out to bring back to the polling place and the food was genuinely good. So we went back last night. The breadsticks (cheese-bread-goodness) are darn good. Get 'em during happy-hour, add chicken and you've got a meal for two for ~$8.00. *update* My friend and his parents went there last night and flat out didn't get served at all. They waited 20 minutes before calling me. I had them meet me across town and paid for their meal at a place that was more than happy to serve us. I can't believe a place can stay in business with service like that. I guess location truly is everything. ***previous review*** The last three times that my wife and I went here we have gotten progressively worse and worse service. Last night we came in for dinner. Right off the bat our server was rude. When asked what seasonal beer they had...the only response was..."a lot". Ok, super helpful bud! Thanks! We bite our tongue and order our usual drinks. When he comes back with our drink order he asks if we're ready to order. We ordered their fire sticks appetizer, one personal pizza and one pasta. I mentioned that I wanted make two substitutions to the pizza and our server audibly grumbled and made it the biggest chore in the world to pull out his scratch pad. We never got checked on from this point forward. We watched as he "helped" other tables with his wonderful service, as our beer glasses remained empty at the end of our table. After waiting an hour....still no appetizer...still no food...no refill on beer...we decide to just cash out and take our hungry bellies and unwanted monies elsewhere. After explaining to the bartender that we were not paying for food we never received, he kindly removed them from our tab. I asked if our appetizer was ever even placed...of course not. I gave them back my rewards card as this was the last time I allow myself to be treated like this. There are far too many places to eat at that actually appreciate their patrons. Why would I want a future discount on something that will never get served to me even if I place the order? Before we reached the door our server (are they still servers if they don't serve?) was arguing with the bartender that he was somehow in the right. I wasn't even surprised to see him defending himself and putting us down while we were still in the building. It all kinda adds up. My boyfriend LOVES pizza and it was his turn to pick where we went out to eat. He chose this place because it's closed to home and he didn't know what a pizza cooked over a wood fire would taste like. I hoped I could find something since I'm lactose intolerant and I was wrong. Everything they have here has cheese. I got a chicken skillet because the only cheese it had on it was Parmesan and I requested that it didn't come with any. The broccoli was delicious, the sauce was also excellent but the chicken was disgusting. It was flavorless, the way chicken tastes when it isn't cooked with or in anything. I tried to smother it in the sauce in the dish but it still managed to taste a little like it had been in the freezer too long. My boyfriend loved his meal, he got a calzone which look good but once again is filled with cheese. I know my boyfriend wants to come back because he enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. He really wants to play billiards next time since they have a pool table in the bar area. There isn't anything worthwhile on this menu if you can't or won't eat cheese. read more

This was probably THE worst service I've ever had in my entire life. Our waitress, Lashea, clearly didn't like that our group was military associated. It was the first thing she identified and then she continuously ignored our table and serving those around us. We watched people come in, eat, get multiple drinks and we couldn't even get one. My significant other tried raising his hand to get noticed just to order another beer. This is such a huge disappointment. I came in late to the group and waited twenty minutes and when my other half and his friend politely asked for another beer she just pointed and said "You?" I don't mind waiting for a drink, but at least be polite. I thought they were crazy when they brought up the poor service but it genuinely was just THAT bad, not busy, and as someone who managed in the food industry before, I couldn't find a reason to justify it. I've always known Farellis to have great food but if your hires are going to disrespect customers or those who are military associated, I can't support a business like that. read more

Went here last week. Their pizza is so freakkin good. The waitresses were really nice, it was clean. We paid 19.99 for a classic pizza I think it was called. It was kind of small but somehow actually filled all three of us up. The pizza dough is so good that I would enjoy eating just that wood fired. It came with both ranch and Marinera sauce and both were really good. We also got milkshakes I would def recommend them. read more

If the consistency was better the review would be better. It's always a gamble when ordering food from here. We really enjoy the pizza most of the time. The north west traditional is always one of the pizzas we order but isn't made to the same standards every time. The in house ranch they have goes really good with there bone in wings. Apparently, this was one of my daughter's hangouts while attending Pacific Lutheran University (PLU). Its located just off campus, next to the Garfield Bookstore (school bookstore). The pizza is better than your average takeout variety but nothing special. They do have other items on their menu for those who prefer something other than pizza. My best description of the place is "upscale college casual" (is that a new category?). Its a very relaxed atmosphere, not too loud, at least when we were there. I have personally been to 3 different Farrelli's restaurants. The food is excellent, the service is excellent. The reason why I am giving this restaurant chain a low rating is because of..... their fountain drinks, the Dr. Pepper specifically. I have Dr. Pepper quite often, as I am not able to drink alcoholic beverages, and Dr. Pepper has been my favorite for many years. I have ordered my favorite soda with my meals at Farrelli's several times, and each time there was a strong chemical taste. The server brought me a fresh glass, and again, it had the chemical taste. I was told that they had would switch out the product & try again. Even with a brand new "keg" it didn't change. I switched to a regular Coke, & it was fine. I asked about the soap they used to wash the glasses. I was told that they had hand washed the last 2 glasses they brought me. That was not the cause of the strange taste. The exact same thing happened at the other 2 Farrelli's. I drink Dr. Pepper at restaurants frequently. Farrelli's is the only place this has occurred. I agree with you that it's strange. I recommend Farrelli's for their food, service & everything other than their Dr. Pepper. read more

Farelli's is a small Washington-based pizza chain that does the trick for me when visiting the Tacoma area. It's not amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but the attention to detail, solid service, and happy hour specials make it "rise" above other pizza chains (why is there so much love for Little Caesar's in this area???). The variety of toppings is sufficient and the pizza is tasty and filling -- just be prepared to wait a bit, even when they are not busy. I was also impressed with their tap beer selection -- typically, one would expect to see nothing but domestic lining the taps, but there were plenty of craft beers available at the Parkland location. Service has been solid every time I have dined here; though those times have also been when classes were not in session at nearby PLU. I don't find the price any more or less than the major chains; you can walk out of here with a cheap pizza dinner for 2 for under $15. Plenty of TVs if you want to catch local or national sporting events, and the restaurant is decorated in the regalia of area sporting teams (Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, Huskies, etc.) Overall: not bad, not astounding...an A-OK is an adequate review! read more

Oh man. Some of my buddies and I went down here on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly packed. Bartenders were friendly and the food we has was pretty good. Pizza was delicious as far as I remember, but it wouldn't be a fair rating. They liquored me up pretty and everything is delicious when you're feeling that good. But the morning after was when we came back for Sunday morning Seahawks football. Yeah, we do that. Pizza, wings and beer on a Sunday morning? Yeah it was all good! Staff was still friendly and attentive even through the screaming and yelling on an early morning with maybe only two other groups there. I just wish they had more breakfast food. It was not busy but it did take about 25-30 minutes for the pizza to come out. It seems like it is cooked in a fire pit (oven) isn't that a quick cook oven? The service was really great. The moment we walked in greeted and seated right away. It was my daughter's birthday so they had Pepperoni pizza. My little five year old loved the tiny pepperoni on the pizza. I wasn't craving pizza, I know crazy right. It was a mistake I ordered the salmon clam chowder. It was very thick. I don't know how else to explain it but so thick that it made me almost gag while eating it. I'm not sure if that was the point to be thick but for sure not for me. We didn't complain about it. Their happy hour is pretty good. The atmosphere here is nothing unique. It's a fun college town place with good food and drink. I would suggest either the hypnotist or an fbomb. Fbombs taste like juice with around two shots in it. Mainly rum. Other than that all their snacks are tasty. The one great thing here is that their happy hour is everywhere and not just in the bar. It's great if you're meeting someone who isn't 21 and still want to be able to enjoy a great drink and snacks. Their pasta is okay. It's not particularly worth the cost so I would consider their pizza. It's not bad if you want it really bad but I would suggest going somewhere more pasta specific. read more

Was looking for a place that was kid friendly and saw that they had a .99 deal on mondays with adult purchase. Aden was our waiter and was very kind knowledgable and on point with our refills! Had the kids get pasta, one of each and I tried the chefs slice of the day with tomato gorganzola bisque. Aden asked the kids if they wanted dough to play with and was very pleasant to them. I'm a fan of Farrelli's, especially for late night happy hour. Ever since high school my friends and I would meet up after sports games, shows, or just whenever to hang out and enjoy their happy hour. I'm not sure I would pay full price, but when you add in the happy hour discounts or social media check in specials it is fun and delicious. It's a casual environment and no one cares if my crazy friends make a lot of noise. That's the beauty of places right next to a college! ;) We will surely be back. read more

The food was fantastic. I got the wings sampler and meat lovers calzone.
