I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this restaurant. One morning on my way to work, I saw an employee eating directly out of the food trays--using his hands, going back and forth between eating and touching the food that would later be served to customers. This is extremely unhygienic and unacceptable for any place that handles food. I immediately told the two employees working at the front, but they didn't seem to care at all. When I asked for a manager, they said none was available. The next day, I returned and spoke with the manager, hoping the situation would be taken seriously. Instead, he was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He said he would "take care of it," but his attitude made it clear he didn't see the issue as important. When I mentioned I wasn't planning to leave a review, he responded with, "Do whatever you want," which was very disappointing to hear from someone responsible for running the place. If this is how the manager behaves, it makes me worry even more about how the rest of the staff handles food and interacts with customers. It's sad to see this level of disregard for basic hygiene and customer safety, especially in a restaurant that serves so many customers read more

Great price for the portion and macros. I got there at 1pm and there was no line. There was a great variety of ingredients to choose from, including some interesting ones such as curried cauliflower, sweet potato, and butternut squash. It was my first time trying farro and I love the texture. Since there were so many options, each bite becomes a texture heaven and flavor bomb. You get the crunch from pumpkin seeds and edamame, the tangy from pickled onions, the slight flavor from curry and yogurt, and of course your choice of meaty protein. The salmon was a bit tough, but seasoned nicely. I recommend getting the dressing on the side. read more

The management staff was extremely helpful! As a first time customer I was offered a promotion deal to deduct 10 bucks from my 16 dollar order but the QR code didnt work. The manager on duty graciously honored their promotion and sold me the incredible bowl $5.87! Not to mention, all the salmon was cooked on cask iron skillet infront of me. And the veggies were fresh and seared to boot. The seating is open and easily accessible with free wifi and charging outlets. Noise level is moderate. Had an incredible lunch at Farro. I was seriously surprised at how delicious the food was... Wasn't expecting such incredible flavors from a healthy power bowl, but wow! You can build your own bowl or select the suggested combos from their menu. I went with the Baja, to keep it simple, and it packed amazing flavors! Heirloom rice, avocado, crispy tortilla chips, red peppers, cilantro, roasted sweet potatoes, queso fresco, perfectly cooked salmon, and that lemon vinaigrette! Seriously, I'm ready to go back and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Outstanding find among so many options in the downtown tunnels. There was a small line but moved super quick, under 2 minutes. Great value for the amount of food, quality ingredients, and outstanding flavors. And it's healthy! What's not to like? Very filling salad bowls! I've been to Farro several times now, and it always hits the spot. My usual order is the Keto Bowl. What stands out to me the most here is the chicken, which they typically give a generous amount of. My only complaint is the price - while you do get a lot of food, it is more expensive than some of the other lunch spots offering similar items in downtown Houston. For how filling it is and the amount of protein included, however, I will continue to be back every once in a while. read more

It seemed like healthier lunch options so I tried the Vegan one and didn't sub anything because I wanted to try their bowl how it was intended to be eaten. One note- As a person who grew up vegetarian, I never liked imitation meet for ex: plant based nuggets I never tried before but never had the urge to try. The bill came out to be $15.00 without tip- I really didn't enjoy the taste of the bowl, It was definitely healthy but tasted bland even with the sauce they gave it with. I ordered a BYO Grains bowl through the app Ritual and was able to step away from my desk at work to run downstairs and pick it up quickly. They prepared my meal in a timely manner, and it was DELICIOUS! The portions are generous - I barely got through half my bowl and had to save it for later (and I eat a lot LOL). I chose the Thai chili dressing for my bowl (pictured), and for all the various veggies and the chicken I added, it was well worth the price. Stopped by for a quick lunch today and wanted to give Farro a try since I wanted to eat healthy and Flippin Patties isn't really in that category. Starts off with a salad, quinoa, farro, or brown rice base. Then you get to add up to 5 cold, fresh options that include chickpeas, edamame, cucumbers, beats, and many other options. Then you get 3 hot options, I went with the sweet potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. You have the option to add protein, I went with the sliced chicken breast. Finally there is the dressing, which I chose the orange tahini. Service was fast and friendly. The total serving size was good, but could have maybe used a little bigger scoop on some. Part of Understory set up across from Flippin Patties this build a bowl or wrap presents many different unique toppings, raw & marinated options. They have some good flavors on the marinated vegetables, I added the dill cucumber and the curry cauliflower to my salad which gave the flavor a little pop. Topped it withe a piece of salmon. The only thing I would like is to have them mix the salad, not a fan having everything sectioned and the bowl not really big enough to mix ourselves. Do not eat here. In my YEARS of working downtown, I have never encountered employees at any establishment that have this much AUDACITY. I've never been here before and I got there at peak lunch time but I guess the line wasn't long because it started right at the point where you need to give your order but I have never dined there not my out of town colleague that was with me. We were both looking at the menu when the start of the assembly line employee rolled her eyes at me to which I stated "sorry I've never been here before." We both just quickly ordered the first thing on the menu, the Mediterranean bowl and added chicken. The line moves really fast when the employees don't care to ask you anything and just build the chosen item but we get to the cashier to pay and after the tip screen it went straight to "your receipt has been emailed" without asking my colleague for their email and the cashier just immediately began ringing up the person behind us. The receipt was needed for an expense report so I asked "can we get the printed receipt?" Begrudgingly, the cashier said "you should have asked me for that a long time ago" in the most rude tone I have ever heard. If I were alone, I would have responded to this snarky comment, but I let it go. I've seen the other side of their little iPad, they can just scroll up the list of orders and click print. I don't know why the cashier was so PRESSED/ANNOYED to have to print a receipt. Calm down dude. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even good, I ended up tossing most of it but wish I could go back and toss it at them for being rude to us, completely unprovoked. I got the vegan bowl and the staff was happy to let me substitute beets for carrots and even added some extra broccoli and dressing on request. The food was fresh and veggies cooked al dente, not soft or mushy. I deducted a star because the frozen gluten nuggets were the only "protein" option, not near the top of my healthy choices list.
