This post will be about the AMAZING customer service I just experience at Cava :) So the situation, at hand was quite rude to me and I could understand if I had an attitude or provoked anyone but I was never the provoker! I asked a simple question to why I was getting an extra charge on a grain with my wrap since I've gotten this meal sooo many times. She informed me it'll be an extra charge and I told her that I've never had an extra charge for that. Then she proceeded to to say "you will today" with a grim smile... like babe are you okay? So she finished packing my sandwich with the grains and then whispered to her friend who was working the proteins and toppings - talking about me in Spanish.. like unknowingly, not knowing that I'm bilingual, honestly pretty funny. She basically said, I was being rude but called me a slur. So the other girl decided to mess with my food a little and be aggressive with my wrap? Like all this commotion just because I had a question? Anyways, I've worked in the service industry for a cute 5 years so I know good customer service and bad. This location never disappoints. The food is always really good, the portion sizes are appropriate and the people are always very nice. I always get the combination of lamb and chicken which is always really good here. The location is right off of Washington Avenue which makes it a super busy spot, so be prepared to wait. I really like the vibes, very large but still the small restaurant style feel. From now on this will definitely be my go to location. read more

Located on a corner of shopping strip on Washington, parking is shared with other businesses. Once inside, it's simple and clean. Plenty of seating available, unless you come during the week for lunch, it gets busy. Service was quick and friendly. Opted for the build my own, with garlicky chicken shawarma bowl and was not disappointed. Chicken was well seasoned and tender. Like Chipotle, I added the additional toppings to my liking and taste. Mediterranean chipotle is a great description of this place. A great spot to build your own / mix and match greens and protein with an assortment of toppings. So you could make your bowl as healthy or as flavorful as you can. I usually go with a custom bowl of greens/rice and combo meats (tried out the lamb/steak combo this time around) It's a good price point for $15 which is very filling and flavorful. Good quality/portion balance Location is fairly convenient, has its own parking lot and also within walking distance from a few other stables of Washington, service is fairly efficient. Overall I think it's a solid fast-casual spot with quality ingredients. Very customizable and can meet your dietary restrictions. Definitely be back again soon. read more

Love that you can order two proteins in a bowl. Food was fresh and delicious. Not sure why some people get 2 pitas and others get 1, but pita was ok. Lentil option instead of rice was great! Server gave me suggestions for the sauces which were spot on: skhug and garlic combo! When I got my drink and went to find a table, both spaces could have used cleaning. The first Cava landed in Houston several years ago and it feels like their reputation has taken over by storm. Some have called it the Greek version of Chipotle, but that name doesn't quite cut it. The number of customizable options are far more massive. Tons of greens, grains, dips, sauces, protein, and more to choose from; despite the variety, it's hard to find a bad combo. For $10-12, I get to splurge on a delicious blend of Mediterranean ingredients without any of the guilt around nutrition. I've made a habit of just adding on all the free toppings (e.g. pita crisps, Persian cucumbers, feta cheese, etc.) without thinking twice. If Cava dropped their fast food design and upcharged their food to $20 in a candlelit Greek restaurant, let's just say that I'd be none the wiser. Despite being a chain restaurant, Cava's standards feel elevated. Maybe it's the ingredients, maybe it's the cleanliness (compared to a similar restaurant, which I don't even feel I need to specify at this point). Either way, for the price you're paying, there's rarely a meal that this place isn't right for. read more

Healthy chipotle is literally what the food here is basically ya make sorta of a salad and add what ever ya want just don't add the meat because it's definitely not cooked all the way and it tastes like food poisoning. The pita bread here is pretty good just wish it came out fresh and warm . The prices here are decent not the best but it's food at least . The staff here if ya don't want a certain food item and ask em to remove it they won't listen to you . Overall if ya can somehow eat this food good for you but I would suggest to go to chipotle. read more

I wish they had a CAVA in MN!! My new obsession... When I visited Houston, I got this four times because I liked it so much. It is so simple, but everything tastes so good. Everytime I go there is usually a line but it goes by fast. It is a Mediterranean fast restaurant and you can't go wrong with a good Mediterranean bowl. There is plenty of seating and lots of parking! The staff and service is great! You can add pita bread but be sure to add pita chips and garlic sauce (there's plenty of sauces to choose from). Clean food, friendly service, and they make it look easy! I've been to Cava locations all over the city, but had yet to visit this one. As previous reviewers have stated, this is basically Mediterranean Chipotle. They have so many delicious options and its all pretty clean, so you don't have much guilt after eating here. We live in the Galleria area, but this location in the heights was the closest to us. It was a Friday night, and the place was popping with people coming in and out of the restaurant. Clearly everyone was getting that healthy eating on a Friday night (most folk looked like they walked in straight from the gym for a post-workout meal). They have wraps and bowls that are prepaid which you can chose from, but we opted to do a build-your own bowl. I picked falafel (my weakness) with some salad, basmati rice, avocado, and plenty of great veggies to chose from. My girl, got hers with lamb. Each bowl came with the option of a small piece of pita bread. It's not cheap (total was about 40 bucks), but it doesn't break the bank either. We ate inside, and there were plenty of neat fountain drinks to chose from, there was a lavender lemonade, and mint limeade that put a refreshing smile on our faces. Staff was very friendly, and they knew how to whip out fast service, despite the long line. Cava is indeed a must. read more

This place smells like sewage. I thought it was just me when I came months ago but the stinch still remains. Not the best sensation when you're in a restaurant where you're about to ingest their food. I've had a headache since I've left. The smell of sewage alone comes from gases of waste materials when catbon dioxide, methane and ammonia are released. So im not surprised in my headache. I honestly dont think this place should be allowed to operate at its current condition. I feel bad for the employees. I wont be coming back to this location. This place is pretty consistently bad. I order a lamb salad bowl, and the last time, the lamb came cold and swimming in solidified lamb fat gel. I could not eat it. There were only a few pieces of lettuce, despite the fact that it was supposed to be a salad, and they were wilted. When it first opened, the food was better. My first time here and actually my first time hearing about it. Some friends mentioned it and spoke highly of it. I decided to give it a try as I was in the area. Walking it I honestly thought I was at the other place that looks just like it, exactly like it lol. They even have the same tortilla press but they use it for pittas. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain the menu and options. They have preset options or you can build your own bowl/pitta. Choose a base of rice or greens, then a protein and finally your toppings. The options are healthy, fresh and very delicious. Obviously the end result is based on what you choose. Cava is another healthy bowl fast food restaurant, like Sweetgreen and Just Salad, that is doing well and keeping up with the freshness, consistency, and speedy service that is required for a successful business like this. The food here is great. So many options for flavors and combinations of Mediterranean-style foods. You can create your own bowl and make endless combinations of flavors - Very similar to chipotle, but better. The dining room itself was decent, a bit cold, but plenty of space and clean. The service is what got me. The man making the bowls at the front was friendly enough, but the girl at the register literally didn't say any words except for the total amount owed. No pleasantries or even "will that be it?" Or "would you like a drink with that?" I was dumbfounded because she just stared at me while I waited for her to say something. It was quite uncomfortable. On the whole the flavors and food will bring us back, but I'm hoping to have better service next time! read more

I really enjoyed my first ever visit to Cava this past week. Although I felt a bit thrown off by the Chipotle-style service operation, it's not really that big of a deal. I would describe Cava as minimally Mediterranean since there are no Mediterranean basics like couscous, baba ghanouj, tabouli or skordalia. I might be wrong, but quinoa seemed to be conspicuously absent (Haha). However, I did enjoy my Greek pita. I love hummus, though, so I was kind of surprised when the guy who made the pita placed two tiny scoops of hummus and tzatziki sauce on the pita and then proceeded to mix everything together. Say what!? (Hahaha) Even so, I enjoyed the pita, which was full of delicious ingredients and a wonderful vinaigrette. The highlight of my meal was actually the lemonade. It's sooo good! Came in on a weekend right around lunch time. It was decently busy, but the line moved pretty fast. Staff was polite even when answering questions. There's not a ton of seating inside, so space was a little limited when I went to find a seat. They were quick to clean tables when people left, so the place I ended up sitting was clean but the floors were a little sticky. Food was good. I've had Cava before and this location was on par with others I had visited previously. My favorite toppings to get are the red pepper hummus and garlic dressing. read more
