I'm doing the Daniel Fast and wanted to go to a restaurant that serves vegan and vegetarian food and I've found the best one. The servers are very kind and professionally answers questions to explain the food. The inside and outside looks very clean and nice place to sit and eat delicious food. I got Mother Earth bowl and it is so good that I'm already ready to go back soon to get it again. I also saw other entrees that I would like to try. My friend got Forbidden Rice and almost every time she ate it she said " this is so good and tasteful" and I totally agree. She got the chocolate pudding that is vegan she liked it. If you are healthy eating go here!

This place is so fresh looking. I love the whole look and vibe of the place. I came here specifically for a healthy salad. The salad was delicious. My husband ordered the spring salad, and the golden beets were delicious. The service was great, and the place was spotless as always.

My favorite brunch food is the Mother Earth Bowl with Salmon. The drinks remind me of Cava and Chipotle, except I think Cava wins when it comes to flavor, and Flowerchild is third place. Inside, it is busy. Not a great place to study in, but a great place to catch up! It's upscale, cozy, and bustling.

Everything was delicious and this is a great place for friends to catch up, eat healthy and hear each other when socializing! The only two issues I had was the restrooms, not sure because they are unisex, but gross. Water or something everywhere and stall spelt like piss. Lastly the seasonal sangria-was it a mocktail? I don't know. We got a pitcher for $28. It had so much ice it was so watered down. Couldn't even taste it. Also we thought it had alcohol but highly doubt it. I will stick to just eating here only. Service was great though. They were nice and patient!

Entree: Chicken with smashed gold potato (not what I expected - that's mashed!) and cauliflower risotto

My first introduction to Flower Child was in The Woodlands maybe 7 or 8 years ago. Since then, they've expanded opening up locations in the loop within the city. They had a salad called strawberry fields, which was good and refreshing but not worth the price. It had fresh strawberries and bits of honeycomb in it. I've also tried the kombucha. Recently, I've been coming to this location because my co workers love to celebrate here for their birthdays to accommodate their dietary needs. It had been a while since I had been at any Flower Child location. The first time, I had the entree of pick a protein and two sides. I did chicken with cauliflower "risotto" and smashed gold potato. Everything from my bowl to the food was one color/monochrome - off white. Chicken was grilled fine, cauliflower risotto had good seasoning, but the smashed gold potato was actually mashed potatoes. I was thinking it would be those roasted potatoes that you smash after boiling then adding seasonings and baking it in the oven. It wasn't. Don't call it smashed. They're mashed potatoes. Since then, I've had their chicken enchiladas which are the best thing on the menu, in my opinion. I looked it up, and it's about 810 calories but loaded with about 2300 mg of sodium. That's more than enough for the whole week! Drink plenty of water. The sodium mainly comes from the queso, but I'm sure the chicken in the enchiladas are also seasoned. I like the pickled onions to cut through the saltiness and the sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick. There's a few greens tossed on top. Their sweet potato fries are also good with the buttermilk yogurt ranch. My co workers enjoy a variety of their other bowl options such as the Mediterranean chicken kabob and Mother Earth or opt for salmon and sides. This location is nice and clean. Service is friendly. It's great for groups with the lunch rush. Parking is congested because it also shares the lot with Via 313 and other businesses in that shopping center. Once you order at the register, you pick a seat and food is brought to you. The drinks and silverware are self serve towards the back end. There's other alcoholic beverages like beer and wine. If we don't order takeout, we'll definitely be back here to dine in again.

    Avocado Caesar

Great option for a quick-service, healthy meal. Quality is consistent, staff is always friendly, and food is always delicious. The Avocado Caesar is my go-to; delicious but light (not your typical Caesar dressing). Prices get a bit high when you add protein (ex: $5 to add chicken to the salad) so all-in with no drink runs you around $17+. I'll continue to pay it because I always enjoy myself here and leave feeling good. Parking - private lot or street; does fill up at lunch time so prepare to potentially have to circle around a few times.

Salmon with gluten free mac n cheese and brussel sprouts

Met up with some friends for dinner and had a great meal! I was delighted and suprised to see the great options they had for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free foods. They really do have lots of options for a variety of lifestyles and dietary needs. The space is very cute, the decor is bright yet cozy with lots of open space. They would be great for just a party of 2 or a large party. The staff is friendly and made some great recommendations. I really enjoyed the spiced apple and berry sangria and my salmon with gluten free mac n cheese and brussel sprouts. As someone who recently had to go gluten free I would have never know the pasta was different. Highly would recommend coming here for a good meal and fun atmosphere.

Salmon with Kale Salad and Sweet Corn & Quinoa
    Ryan P.

The interior is extremely cute with plenty of seating! The first thing I noticed is how fresh and bright it felt inside. I ordered Avocado Hummus and Salmon with Kale Salad and Sweet Corn and Quinoa as my sides. The avocado hummus was delicious and at first I was jarred by the pita to hummus ratio, but I found out you can just ask for more :) The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted like standard salmon, but the sweet corn and quinoa was addictive. I'm pretty sure I finished eating that before I even touched anything else. The kale salad was also good with a slight citrusy kick. Overall the food was great, service was quick, and the atmosphere was nice! I need to come back soon to try other things off the menu.

Simple, whole food for the soul... Prepared with fresh ingredients... I chose the chicken, broccoli, and gluten-free mac... Although I requested buffalo sauce, it wasn't available, but my server recommended Cholula sauce, which turned out to be just as good ...

    Ginger Miso Crunch
    Ari K.

We came in a little before noon and it wasn't too crazy, just a little busy for the lunch rush! The place has a very open and sunny vibe and it's got cute decorations. I got the Ginger Miso Crunch Salad with the dressing on the side and nixed the sesame seeds. It was good overall! I liked the mint that was in it a lot.

    Mother Earth with tofu
    Sandra K.

I really don't know why I keep coming here other than hoping that what I get will be more delicious than the time before. I'm usually wrong. The only thing that's been consistently good is the tofu. Everything else has been hit or miss. Today I got a side of tofu and an order for the yuzu Brussels sprouts which were blah. They were kind of cooked but also super salty. Made me sad.

    My food and receipt

Beautiful, feel-good, place to eat fresh food. It was delicious and beautiful. I really like the decor.

Looks like Redondo beach, but it's actually Houston.

The patio is covered, lined with beautiful plants, and equipped with fans that help keep everything cool and comfortable. Even on warmer days, it feels like a relaxing place to settle in for a long meal. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We shared hummus as an appetizer, followed by grilled salmon, and somehow still found room for sorbet for dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Most importantly, my humans ordered me my very own side of grilled chicken. As a professional food critic, I can confirm that it disappeared immediately. Another nice touch is the outdoor family area. There is a dedicated space for kids to play along with a large TV so parents can relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. It gives the restaurant a welcoming atmosphere without feeling chaotic. Between the excellent food, comfortable patio, and dog-friendly attitude, D'Alba is an easy recommendation for anyone dining with a pup. Dogba's verdict: Beautiful patio, outstanding food, my own grilled chicken entrée, and enough plants to make a tiny Italian Greyhound feel very sophisticated.

The fried chicken was well balanced, good brine and a crispy delicate batter. The bread with butter and jam was also quite decent. Seems to be a martini place but I had a Manhattan and really enjoyed it, it was a strong drink but very tasty. The kampachi crudo was very light but also flavorful with fun textures from the toppings. The mussels on bread were savory and buttery, really liked the addition of the large beans. The pappardelle with the wide noodles was so fun and there was lots of parm which I liked, and the lemon zest was a nice touch. The squash was soft and I loved the ricotta. The campanelle was really unique with the crawfish and the spicy sauce, the noodle shape was so fun. The cheeseburger is tiny but mighty, super juicy and cheesy. The fries were perfectly crispy. Mango sorbet was packed full of mango flavor! Really enjoyed this spot, can't believe it took me so long to get here. Probably best to get a reservation. Small parking lot available.

Good God Nadine's is closing at the end of May because their building is being sold. Nothing like a closing announcement to motivate me to go try a place. My friend made a reservation for inside dining, but it wasn't necessary. When we arrived, we were told we could sit wherever. It was pretty chilly inside so we opted for a booth on their covered patio. They also have an uncovered patio, however it was empty because it was raining. Parking is pretty adequate, especially for the Heights. Their lot is divided into three sections. The main entrance is through the uncovered patio. I didn't catch our server's name, but he was really nice and made good recommendations. The staff overall was super nice and very attentive. They did a great job of keeping water glasses full which I always appreciate. My friend and I both had the Paradise Smashburger and added Beef Tallow Fries. The burger had a double patty and it was so delicious! The patties had the crispy edges as a smashburger should and it was very filling and flavorful. The fries were good, especially with the aioli that we requested on the side. The food was amazing! The cocktails on the other hand fell a little short. I really wanted a Key Lime Pie Martini but they took it off the menu a few months ago so I ended up ordering The Houstonian. The Butterfly Pea infused gin caught my attention. What didn't catch my attention was the star anise. I don't really care for this spice and it had a prominent taste in the cocktail. I don't like to send drinks back so I kept it, but if I were to order it again, I would order it without the star anise because I enjoyed the other flavors in the drink. I also had the Pearadise with gin. I enjoyed the peach puree, but it was a bit tart. A little simple syrup would have helped to balance out the flavors. I'm glad that my friend and I were able to dine at GGN before they close. I'm hoping that they'll reopen in another location because I really enjoyed the food and the laid back vibe.

The building is being sold, so they're going out of business at the end of May. Unclear if they have plans to relocate somewhere else. We decided to go here after catching a musical at The Hobby Center downtown. I didn't realize Good Good Nadine's was so close to me right behind Truth BBQ and across from HEB. It has plenty of parking. Unfortunately, the handicap spots seem to be behind the entrance than the front. The entrance is through the outdoor and covered patio. I made reservations just in case for indoor dining since it was raining, but when we got there, the inside was freezing since we were wet. We didn't know that there was a large covered patio. Most people sat in that area, so we sat in a side booth there instead. It was comfy like patio cushions. We opted for that instead of the iron seats. Service was great. We ordered the Paradise smashburgers (mine without shredded lettuce) and added the hand cut beef tallow fries ($19). I asked for the aioli on the side, as well. I thought the burger was great. The meat had great flavor and was juicy. I liked the pickles. Compared to other photos I've seen where it was too much bread, my burger had a great bun to meat ratio. I added some ketchup and the aioli. The fries were great, but I wish I didn't get the tiny or small bits of fries compared to my friend's full cut fries. They had two non-alcoholic drink options, and I tried them both. The strawberry refresher was made with Seedlip, housemade strawberry syrup, lime, and soda. I preferred this one over the Palm Springs one because it had better flavor. The Palm Springs has coconut water, cane syrup, pineapple, soda, and toasted coconut. It wasn't what I expected it to taste. It was bland and was mostly coconut water and soda. It lacked the pineapple flavor to add sweet and tart notes. It wasn't sweet at all and also didn't have toasted coconut on top. It had a tiny snippet of maybe the end of a pineapple leaf that was browning? Not good. I took it off. Sad to see this place go. It is pretty nice inside and out. I enjoyed the smashburger compared to Burger Bodega down the street. The NA drinks could use some more love. I wish I would've tried the bread pudding! Totally forgot and was also full.

It is tiny and packed tight inside, but they do have patio seating as well. Parking is very limited, but you can find street parking nearby. Reservations are highly recommended but walk ins are welcome. We had a few people taking care of us that night and they were all great. I was between a few items and they were very helpful in steering me in the right direction. We started off with a few bottles of wine to get the night started. From what I understand, their wine list is one of the things they are known for. Your only other option for an adult beverage is limited options of canned or bottled beers. I didn't really have a say in the wine we shared, but what we had was delicious and paired nicely with the items we ordered. For starters, we went with the highly recommended bread service. Get this! This bread was so good. I doubt they make it as ordered, but it came out like it was fresh out of the oven. It was a nice crusty bread with a fluffy interior served on a cutting board with a huge smear of miso butter. We then went with the Crispy Cauliflower which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was smothered in a gochujang aioli and reminded me of a general tso chicken or something. Very good. Thai Chili Rubs was next and these were so good as well. I'm a sucker for all the Asian flavor profiles and this hit that. For my entree, I ended up with the Pork Chop w/ Chutney. This was a huge chop on a layer of apple sauce and a wonderful chutney that contrasted the sweet sauce. Every layer worked well together. I will say the pork chop was just slightly over cooked, in some parts. It also came with green beans which was cooked just right. No room for dessert as we had another party to head to. Overall, I'm glad my friends picked this spot for their birthday celebration. I am now in the know about this place and will consider coming back in the future.

Our reservation was at…read more7 and my friend who reserved had received a call that around 5:45 pm day of to confirm our reservation. However when our whole party arrived we were told that our reservation was lost and taken out of the system. In result, our large table was given to another group. We did not get seated till 7:45 and we ordered right away from the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Our food did not arrive till 8:15 pm. We were starving at this point. I believe we were not the only party/group this happened to. Also, my friend was sitting under an AC vent and the AC water kept dripping on her. Aside from this, our server was great and he was doing his best as I do feel they were understaffed. The food was not bad. They have a good selection for Houston restaurant week. We did get compensated which was appreciated. I've been to Savoir 2 times before way back and the wait was never an issue. Our group was thinking of going to an ice cream shop after but our girls night ended being cut short as we had to wait to be seated and get our food. In the end, the food was good but was I'm not sure if it was worth an hour and 15 min wait.
