The servers are very kind and professionally answers questions to explain the food. The inside and outside looks very clean and nice place to sit and eat delicious food. I got Mother Earth bowl and it is so good that I'm already ready to go back soon to get it again. I also saw other entrees that I would like to try. My friend got Forbidden Rice and almost every time she ate it she said " this is so good and tasteful" and I totally agree. She got the chocolate pudding that is vegan she liked it. The place felt like a breakfast joint since they had the breakfast nook seating or like banquette seating. I got calm comforting vibes here. Salad The salad was fresh and was filled with kale. My first introduction to Flower Child was in The Woodlands maybe 7 or 8 years ago. Since then, they've expanded opening up locations in the loop within the city. They had a salad called strawberry fields, which was good and refreshing but not worth the price. It had fresh strawberries and bits of honeycomb in it. I've also tried the kombucha. Recently, I've been coming to this location because my co workers love to celebrate here for their birthdays to accommodate their dietary needs. It had been a while since I had been at any Flower Child location. The first time, I had the entree of pick a protein and two sides. I did chicken with cauliflower "risotto" and smashed gold potato. Everything from my bowl to the food was one color/monochrome - off white. Chicken was grilled fine, cauliflower risotto had good seasoning, but the smashed gold potato was actually mashed potatoes. I was thinking it would be those roasted potatoes that you smash after boiling then adding seasonings and baking it in the oven. It wasn't. Don't call it smashed. They're mashed potatoes. Since then, I've had their chicken enchiladas which are the best thing on the menu, in my opinion. I looked it up, and it's about 810 calories but loaded with about 2300 mg of sodium. That's more than enough for the whole week! Drink plenty of water. The sodium mainly comes from the queso, but I'm sure the chicken in the enchiladas are also seasoned. I like the pickled onions to cut through the saltiness and the sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick. There's a few greens tossed on top. Their sweet potato fries are also good with the buttermilk yogurt ranch. My co workers enjoy a variety of their other bowl options such as the Mediterranean chicken kabob and Mother Earth or opt for salmon and sides. This location is nice and clean. Service is friendly. It's great for groups with the lunch rush. Parking is congested because it also shares the lot with Via 313 and other businesses in that shopping center. Once you order at the register, you pick a seat and food is brought to you. The drinks and silverware are self serve towards the back end. There's other alcoholic beverages like beer and wine. If we don't order takeout, we'll definitely be back here to dine in again. read more

Great option for a quick-service, healthy meal. Quality is consistent, staff is always friendly, and food is always delicious. The Avocado Caesar is my go-to; delicious but light (not your typical Caesar dressing). Prices get a bit high when you add protein (ex: $5 to add chicken to the salad) so all-in with no drink runs you around $17+. I'll continue to pay it because I always enjoy myself here and leave feeling good. They would be great for just a party of 2 or a large party. The staff is friendly and made some great recommendations. I really enjoyed the spiced apple and berry sangria and my salmon with gluten free mac n cheese and brussel sprouts. The interior is extremely cute with plenty of seating! The first thing I noticed is how fresh and bright it felt inside. I ordered Avocado Hummus and Salmon with Kale Salad and Sweet Corn and Quinoa as my sides. The avocado hummus was delicious and at first I was jarred by the pita to hummus ratio, but I found out you can just ask for more :) The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted like standard salmon, but the sweet corn and quinoa was addictive. I'm pretty sure I finished eating that before I even touched anything else. The kale salad was also good with a slight citrusy kick. The cleanliness and design alone makes you feel like you're eating healthy the moment you walk in the door. I got the chicken with gluten-free mac and cheese and red chile glazed sweet potato. Man, the mac and cheese was the highlight of my day! I don't know what they put in there to make it so flavorful but not overwhelmingly. Chicken was well seasoned and sweet potato wasn't bad. You can tell that each dish here was purposely crafted to not only be tasty, but visually pleasing as well. Some people say as a rule of thumb that the more colorful your plate is, the healthier it is. Flower Child stays true to that principle. 4.5 stars overall. Really wanted to give it 5, but it's hard to justify the portion sizes for the price you're paying. I get that a premium-looking healthy restaurant in the Heights is going to charge a pretty penny, but the mac and cheese barely could fill the palm of my hand. Located in Shepard, Flower Child definitely has the "Flower Child" feel when you walk through the doors. The decor was very nice & fresh. It felt super relaxing in there and I was greeted by a very nice hello by a lady (I forgot her name) as walked through the doors waiting for my pickup order. The lady put me in the que, it seemed like the order was made to order which I liked. I ordered the flying Avocado wrap. It has smoked turkey, Gouda, fresh tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and oregano vinaigrette. All of the ingredients were fresh! The tall gentleman with long hair (I forgot his name) was very kind and made sure I had all my items with my order with my order. Everything I had here was flavorful AND guilt free... including the cookie lol MY main dish was the Mother Earth with salmon which was scrumptious and filling. Flower child is one of my favorite places to eat, but I'm not impressed with this specific location. Every time I order for pickup on the app the food is never ready when it says it will be. It is always late. I don't have this experience at other Flower Child locations, only this one. At all of the other locations I've been to the food is ready to pickup the time it tells you on the app and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, I can't say the same about this location. This is the least busy location I go to yet they're always still behind. It seems like a management issue to me. When I dine in the food is super quick to come out, but when I order to go it's running late and there is always a line of people inside also waiting on their order. I hope that there are some changes made because flower child is genuinely one of my favorite restaurants. If I could rate the food I would give 5 stars but I put 2 stars because of the service. read more

The first thing that really caught my eye about flower child was its dedication toward cooking with the highest quality and freshest ingredients. It kinda reminds me of home cooking since I know where all the ingredients came from and that everything in my dish is simply the best. Not only do all the dishes lean toward the heath but audience but every dish is so delicious and has so much flavor. There is a huge misconception that "healthy" food tastes bad, however if it is done right it is delicious. It took me 20 minutes to decide what I wanted since everything made my mouth water...I'm not exaggerating. The waiters and manager were also super sweet and welcoming. Service was extremely fast, and the place was clean. I like how there was a place to wash your hands by the drinks. The prices are a bit high but it makes sense for the ingredients that they use. Overall, if you're in or already in Houston please give this place a try.
