    Rotten Garden Salad
    AmirReza O.

This was the worst Persian food experience I had! The garden salad had rotten veggies in it and we had to toss it away without touching it! The Sultani/Soltani Kabab was barely edible with koobideh that was extremely fatty and barg that was undercooked and smelt too bad to eat. Even the rice was stale. It felt like we have been served 10 days old food that were sitting out of fridge for last few days. They are pretty friendly folks when you go in to the place however the food is dismal!

I was in the area and ordered lunch to take home. Food was ready in 10 minutes. Cutlery and a packet of spice was packed neatly for the travel back home. This was by far one of the best kebabs I have eaten. Kebabs and rice were both very flavourful and aromatic. The rice portion size was generous as well. I had leftovers for the next day. I wish there was a half size portion available. I was still pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Service was friendly. The person behind the counter explained to me how to use the spice packet.

The food is absolutely spectacular. Such a great find! There is nothing better than finding a hidden gem in your neighborhood and then putting them on to all your friends. Farsi Food in North Vancouver is my new favorite spot. It's a Persian restaurant , and the best that I've had in Vancouver so far. The staff was friendly, accommodating and provided a lovely overall experience. Top notch. At first I got start with a fresh warm soup offered by dear Sahar while I was waiting for my food. I ordered "Tehrani Kabab", which was one of the the chef's special, this was absolutely delicious and a must have! The portion sizes are big. This is a must try spot if you're in the area. They serve a variety of traditional dishes that represent Iran and its diversity. Trust me, you won't leave disappointed (or hungry). Cheers,

Persian Rice served with Tahdig and combination of Koobideh, chicken kabob, and beef kabob.

The place is probably more like a grocerty store with a hot food stand attached. Took a quick look and it's definitely for the Middle Eastern market. Staff are friendly. I tried their kebab meal. Pretty tasty. Kebabs were nice and juicy. Served with pita, grilled tomato, hummus, rice, and 2 types of salad (onion and mixed). Portion size was somewhat decent. Definitely hit the spot. There is also a dessert place (La De Dessert) that is run out of the same space. The guy (owner?) gave my buddy and I a chocolate waffle sample. Pretty tasty too, though it was a bit pricey. Overall I'd come back, though there are a few other similar places in the direct vicinity. Recommended.

Khaghan had plenty of room for us. The menu seems to have changed since the last time I came here. Previously, there were coloured pictures on their menu. This time, no pictures at all on the menu. Just black and white wording. Previously they had a Gheyme stew with eggplant that had meat in it by default and I had to request it to be vegetarian. They messed it up last time and just gave me plain vegetarian Gheyme stew. So...it was vegetarian, but it was missing the eggplant. The menu was better organized this time. Whereas previously they had a plain Gheyme Stew, and then a Gheyme stew with Eggplant (that had meat in it), this time they just had one listing of Gheyme Stew but then underneath there was an option of adding either beef or eggplant to it. I chose the eggplant add on and they got it right this time. Thorougly enjoyed my meal. We also ordered a Mirza Ghasemi appetizer to share amongst the table. I'd had this previously at other Persian restaurants. This one had a fried egg on top which was a bit different. I found the fried egg unnecessary. Nothing wrong with it in terms of taste. I do love the taste of a fried egg; however, the smoked eggplant dip is the star of the show and really didn't need a fried egg. Not to mention, I do prefer to be more eco friendly which means opting for vegan over vegetarian options when possible. That's just a personal preference though and not any kind of criticism about the dish or the restaurant. Everyone was impressed with their food. The portions, the presenation, the quality of the food. Some people hadn't had Tahdig before (the crispy rice). They loved the Tahdig. It was quite a showstopper. Great place for quality Persian eats in a lovely, spacious setting with lots of free parking. Oh, and if you're driving out later at night from the Capilano mall parking lot, don't get scared off by the gates being close when you're trying to exit. Drive out towards the Hanes St. exit and when you approach the closed gate, it will lift when you get to it. We had a few moments of panic but figured it out eventually and of course...huge sense of relief!

Absolutely dynamite!!! Crispy, cheesy, and addictive. My dish: Alinazik Kebab - Grilled lamb over sauced grilled eggplant and yogurt, served with salad and bread. The lamb was insanely flavourful and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the mashed eggplant though (which surprised me because I usually love eggplant). It was okay, just not my thing this time. My husband's dish: Ground Beef Pide - Savoury flatbread topped with seasoned ground beef, fresh herbs, and sesame seeds. This was excellent -- super tasty and satisfying. My son's drink: Ayran - A traditional salty yogurt drink with mint. Not a hit with him Too salty and sour for his taste, but we appreciated the experience of trying something new. The servers kindly brought him a Coke instead and didn't charge us, which was really nice. My son's dinner: Adana Kebab (spicy) - Skewered spicy ground beef with rice, bulgur, salad, and bread. Fantastic!!! The beef was fresh and flavourful, and the rice and bulgur were soooo good. Service & atmosphere: It was pretty packed for Valentine's Day, so service was a bit hit and miss and slower than usual -- but totally understandable. The atmosphere made up for it, especially with the live Turkish music. It genuinely felt like being on vacation for the night, and I loved that feeling. Overall: Definitely worth the wait. Great food, great vibes, and a fun dining experience for the whole family.

Wouldn't get it again Service - food came fast and they checked on us multiple times Atmosphere - lots of people kept coming in and out but it wasn't loud at all. We ordered a kebab meat platter and it definitely delivers on portion size. The standout for me was the grilled meats, especially the lamb chops and chicken kebabs. They were well-seasoned, nicely charred, and not dry (which is where a lot of places miss the mark). The rice was fragrant and paired well with everything, though pretty standard. Service was good. The atmosphere leans traditional and a bit dated, but it fits the vibe of the place. Overall: worth going for if you're craving grilled meats and a filling meal, just don't expect anything particularly refined. It's about comfort food and generous portions.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and the food and service were both excellent. Looking forward to my next return. My friend and I decided the Horseman Specialty Platter which serves 2 people. We started with the Humous (yellow split pea), Sabzi Mast (spinach & yogurt dip), pita bread and a salad with cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes and feta cheese. The platter was filled with a delicious rice, baked eggplant, potatoes and 3 meats (chicken kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab, Lamb Shoulder Chop). We couldn't finish as there was so much food, so took some home. We finished with Pistachio Ice Cream (pistachio, saffron & rosewater) and it was rich and delicate and a perfect ending. Once of the best I had in town. Décor is tradition and relaxing. You can ask for the traditional floor seating or table. Reservation recommended but was can early and they were able to accommodate us. Free mall complex parking but ensure you register. Many metered parking on the streets within 2-3 block radius. The #50 bus stopped right in front of the restaurant.
