Fast Locksmith provided me with a bid to rekey my locks via email after I sent pictures/descriptions of the locks. Once I told them I was ready to have them do the work, they scheduled an appointment for the next day. Thomas worked quickly and efficiently and had me test the keys before he left - one was a little hard to turn so he made me a new one. He was polite and friendly, as well. The final charge was exactly what they bid. I mention that because another locksmith bid a price nearly double for the same job and when I told him my quote from Fast Locksmith he was insistent the lower price was some kind of trick and that they would increase the charges once they got here. I should have called these guys first. I tried a different company and after using some loud machine on my file cabinet for 20 minutes they tried to convince me to drill the lock for $100. Insane. These guys sent someone out to my house on the same day. He brought an actual lock picking kit and had the damn file cabinet open in at most 3 minutes. It was amazing and terrifying. Update 3/10/22. I'm embarrassed to admit that after posting my last review, I had to call these guys back to change my locks due to lost keys (long story). I appreciate them even more now! Nate was able to show up with one day notice, showed up during the given window, and didn't give up, even when one of the locks proved particularly challenging. He could have easily left when he found out I mistakenly called the visit a "rekey" (hard to do without a key), or charged me to change the entire lock because it would have been easier for him, but his ethics and his work ethic were strong and he kept at it until he got the job done! I've had the pleasure of doing business with Ronnie/Fast Locksmith twice in less than a week. His tech Kyle came out on the first visit and did such great work that I requested him for the second visit. On both occasions, Kyle worked very quickly to get the job done. He was professional and well mannered. Most importantly, he cleaned up the work area before leaving. I can appreciate that Ronnie scheduled the appointments both times and provided me with the total cost. I made an appointment and the tech never showed. We didn't receive a call about the missed appointment. I called twice after the missed appointment to ask if they were coming. The first time the phone was disconnected. The second time I was put on hold for 10 minutes before I was hung up on. Really poor customer service experience. Edited to Add: Since posting the review, they called and let me know they had an error in scheduling and offered to come out later in the afternoon. Tony just came by after my husband called late yesterday. We lost our only key fob for the Mini Cooper...think the dog stole it! Came over to cut and program two remote keys. Tech told me that the chip in one of the keys that i had purchased was a little off but that he replaced the chip and all should be good. When I tried the key at first it took a second to turn on but seemed OK. A week later, this one key stopped working completely (leaving me stranded roadside). Called to ask them to come assist and they said the problem was the key, not the programming, so they were going to charge me $160 to come out again. If the key had something wrong with it, why program it and charge me $120 to do so and then try to charge me again to come do it over? Don't stand behind their work. Had to file dispute with the credit card company. read more

Thomas was great- didn't give up until he was able to remove the key stuck in the ignition. While he could not solve the problem (probably electronics) he was able to remove the key and disconnect battery so that I can at least lock car for the night before taking it to service.
