My husband and I were really excited to hear that Fat Bottom was opening on the west side, and we haven't been disappointed! Come regularly for their M-F happy hours with 1/2 price beers and $5 apps. Really good food though not great (we love their wings ... all of them but especially the garlic and Nashville hot), but it's a brewery and we come for the beer :) I love the Ruby Red while the hubs always explores the beer list and is rarely disappointed. Service was slow the first month after opening but has only improved since! Also love that it's kid friendly - we are never the only couple with a stroller. read more

The brewery is great. I love the sample platter of beers, but their food is the real treat. Cool vibe with lots of wood. I LOVED their beers. The ginger beer was especially delicious. The ambiance was awesome, totally chill. We didn't eat here, so I have no comment on the food other than it smelling great. I give this place 4 stars mostly because of atmosphere and food. The beer is ok, more like 3 stars most of the time. I will say, however, the beer has been gradually improving since I first came here last November. My favorites are the stout, black ipa, and I've had luck with their small batches they put out weekly. The food has always been impressive. Burger and fries, some of the best. The service is decent and the owners have always been friendly. Nice place, I just hope the beers continue to improve. read more

On one of our craft beer searches and found Fat Bottom. We purchased tickets for a tour and showed up early to have a beer and relax. We discovered a great place with fantastic atmosphere, super friendly staff and some great craft brew. The tour was given by the owner who was very good at what he does and explains everything about the business. The beers are a wide range of taste from malty to my favorite....HOPPY! We were pleased to discover good food including vegetarian fare. I would say this place has it all and we will be visiting again real soon. Beer is decent, burger was gross. Something was way off about it. There was a lot of joking around and "hanging around" in the kitchen from my view at the bar. No wonder they were empty on a Saturday, while butcher and bee and edleys were packed to the max. Ive been there before a couple years ago and I thought it was much better than this past experience. Fat Bottom has a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and rich beer. You won't like their beer if you're a miller lite person, but go out on a limb and try the Black Better (black IPA), it's the best. I had my 30th birthday dinner here and the staff was very accommodating. This is my go-to place for dinner if I don't feel like researching a new spot. Enjoy! read more

I am definitely one of the hundreds (thousands?) of East Nash residents who jumped up and down when I heard the Fluffo building was being converted into not one but TWO brew-pubs -- need I ever ford the Cumberland again?! Although disappointed that the 'cross-the-pretty-courtyard other half of the building has yet to produce sudsy treats for me and my loved ones, I'm increasingly pleased with Fat Bottom's offerings. A fan of a hoppier brew, I've returned a couple times since their addition of the Knockout IPA. I also enjoyed the blended "Red Betty" on my last visit more than either the Black Betty or the Ruby Red, so big ups for giving that a whirl and adding it to the menu. Fat Bottom makes it to all the beer festivals, and has taps in all my favorite local joints, so they're doing a bunch RIGHT when it comes to friend-raising. The bar atmosphere is right on, the staff friendly as any, and the Tuesday specials on their DELICIOUS food + pints makes for a fantastic weeknight date. This past Saturday, when computer flubbed our happy hour prices and we mentioned this to the server, they turned ALL our pints into $3 charges and apologized profusely for the error. Nice. Excited to patronize this biz for years to come. read more

I just adore this place. A cozy scene with friendly workers and yummy brews. I came here last summer with my brother and we ordered deviled eggs and a caprese salad. Both were just delightful and the waitress was fun. There is a big outdoor seating area where you can play corn hole on a warm day or soak in some rays while you drink an amber or a pilsner or whatever tickles your fancy. Definitely a hot East Nashville spot. Get a growler ;) read more

The food here is really amazing. Expected to find generic pub food, but their menu is everything but. We've been here a few times now. Love the hummus, burgers, Rueben, wings (Korean BBQ), and charcuterie plate. The service can be a bit slow at times, but they are so sweet and really trying hard to work out the kinks. Family and dog friendly. Great outdoor space. I am thoroughly impressed, especially for being open only a few weeks!! read more

Good: staff! Bad: average food and you leave smelling like a deep fryer . The staff are the good points. servers and bar tenders were excellent. I ordered blue cheeseburger with caramelized onion was ok not that great. The burger was messy and fell apart. The soggy potato wedges were also average at best. They have Limited beer selection. The location is kinda neat. But it has fatal problems . There was a hazy greasy smoke cloud in the dining room. Our clothes wreaked of grease. Could be a cool place to hang but you can't go anywhere else because you smell like a grease trap. read more

Fat Bottom Brewing is a great place to stop in and have a beer or snack. They have a rotating selection of craft brews, and a small menu of food to get. Didn't get any of the food, but all of the beer was good. Grab a flight and try them all before you choose, and you can grab cans of growlers to go. They do tours during the week that are worth checking out. read more

Excellent beer, atmosphere and staff! This is what breweries are all about. I happened to stop in here the last week they are open in East Nashville. They will be moving to West Nashville and be closed for a few weeks in between. (Octoberish 2016) The staff was super nice. Tyler and the manager John were super nice and friendly towards visitors and talked beer and answered questions. Being from out of town, I not knowing most local breweries this was one I had seen around town at most bars I went to. I asked if they were within the top 5 breweries in Nashville, modestly it was admitted at least in the top 10. I would suggest the top 3 myself. They surprisingly had a full kitchen, and servers to wait on your indoor or patio table. Food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled good. However I did not eat. The West Nashville location will be much larger, brining the Poplar tree bar too from the East location to the West location. Fun tip, all the tabletops, benches and bar top were all from on large Poplar tree. read more

Fat Bottom Brewing is a very average brewery with very average beer. What I will remember this brewery for is the terrible customer service. My friends and I were visiting Nashville and decided to come here since one of them enjoyed collecting beer glasses from different breweries. Unfortunately on the day we went they were out of glasses. Cool, NBD. I contacted them online about having a glass shipped to us (even offering to pay extra for the work involved of sending it in addition to paying for the glass and all shipping/handling cost) and I also told them why it was important for us to buy a glass to add to our collection. They never replied. I am pretty sure they chose to ignore it. I sent another e-mail a few weeks later and just got the brush off about re-checking the site in the future. I wish we picked another brewery to visit while we were in Nashville especially since it offered nothing special. I am sure there are better breweries and bars in Nashville where you can get a better experience in terms of beer and staff. read more

We saw the t-shirt for this place at the airport when we arrived in town and my wife and I knew we had to go! Amazing burgers and great beer! We each ordered a flight and I settled on the WAC. The Firecracker was really good as week, very smokey-flavored porter! Really impressed with the food! My wife had the Tempest burger and onion rings. I had the Nations burger and a salad! Was blown away by how good the food was! We went on a Sunday night and there were only a handful of people, we stuck around until almost closing. The staff were friendly and entertaining and let us sample pretty much any beer we wanted! The only drawback is that it's a little out of the way. You have to know about it and make a point to go as you wouldn't happen to just be strolling by and decide to pop in like the bars downtown and the other entertainment districts! Ended up buying two pint glasses and a t-shirt with their logo!!! read more

I really can't say enough good things about this place. Very good beer and truly excellent food. Good vibe, attentive service, great music on the speaker system. I came on a saturday around 6pm. Plenty of seating available and server came by pretty quickly. The outdoor space looked nice but we decided to sit inside. My friend and I tried four house beers and they were all solid. No crazy flavors and only around 8 beers to choose from but they were well done so that's fine. The menu was also small but solid. As a vegan, I always check out menus online before eating somewhere. This place had a falafel sandwich that looked like it could be made vegan--fine. However, when we showed up, the special was a vegan bahn mi with seitan! Jack pot! And it was AWESOME. As good as any seitan sandwich from a 100% vegan restaurant. They should seriously think about adding it to the regular menu. The fries were very good too. Thick and handcut. My friends got the fat bottom burger and he said it tied for the best burger he's ever had. read more

I recently attended an event at Fat Bottom and really like what they've done with the new space. It's an out of the way location, which probably won't be too out of the way for long with all the development going on in the neighborhood. The main space is huge with two levels, with a dedicated event space and plenty of other areas to spread out. They have a large outdoor patio with cornhole and also an upstairs covered deck. The decor is rustic and welcoming. We sampled three specialty beers and were impressed with each of them. The Admiral is their take on a German heifen. Cavalier is a saison brewed with lychees. Our personal favorite was the Baroness- a rich dark heady stout aged in bourbon barrels. Their regular beer listings tend to favor IPAs for those who like things hoppy. We also did a tour, interesting to see behind the scenes of how Fat Bottom came to be and how they make their brews. We didn't order off their regular menu but instead sampled a few of their appetizers. Their beer cheese sauce for the pretzels is flavorful, thick and had just the right beer essence; the highlight of what we tried. All around Fat Bottom seems to be carving their niche on the west side. read more
