    Shrimp po boy
    Sharad B.

Tried the shrimp po' boy and it was decent but didn't quite wow me. The shrimp were nicely fried, bread was good, but the overall flavor didn't stand out. Service was fast and friendly, though, so I'd give them another shot to try something else on the menu.

I can't speak highly enough about Michael and Fat Boys Food Truck! We needed hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries and onion rings to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday. Michael was super responsive and helpful in helping me get the menu together and the pricing was very reasonable. On the day of the event, they were friendly, professional and even wiggled into a tight corner to make our event a great success. They fed our crowd of 80 as quickly as possible. The food was hot and a big hit! Thank you!

(Dined 04/10/21 SA @ 12:15pm): Boy... I could get fat if I kept eating at Mike's food truck! I recently enjoyed a couple beers at Over Town Brewing Co. when I saw Fat Boys Food Truck as the day's food option and was immediately smitten by the name and logo https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=nTHvAYpeKxts5kKF1e_ECg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Prior to these COVID-19 times, I frequently attended, worked, or volunteered at the myriad of year-around events throughout Southern California, yet this was the first time I've ever seen this road restaurant and had to try them out. Would the use of the word "fat" be any indication of the style of food they served!? QUICK BIO "Fat Boys is a Los Angeles food truck specializing in American style cuisine with flair and an ever-changing yet concise menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FzZTvdY_VbJB_IQ5jRXGdw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw". PURCHASE Chicken Mike Sandwich + Fried Egg ($10.95 + $1.00): Their signature dark meat fried chicken sandwich on a grilled brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and your choice of spicy or garlic aioli (I chose spicy) with an added semi-running fried egg, this was a messy two-hander that had juices and egg running down your chin and all over your hands, the chicken was thick, moist on the inside and extra crunchy on the outside. This was one mother-cluckin' yummy bird https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=j8XFhQOy54pQilo35BgqfQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 5.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.95): A large portion size of mainly large thick rings, these were hot, lightly browned, crunchy, didn't crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (possible sweet Maui!) stayed intact. Nice flavor and truly didn't need any sort of dipping sauce. I seriously thought about another order for the road https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=L7au8iKnx8KEo7rzLVawHw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! SERVICE I dealt with one individual - a male who actually worked at Over Town Brewing Co. who quickly took my food order, and about fifteen minutes later the same person brought my meal! Easy, efficient, and friendly - all good! PARKING (FREE) Being a food truck, they were at the beck and call wherever they were serving food. I drove myself since I was relatively in the area for other errands. Otherwise, the venue was at Over Town Brewing Co. which had plenty of surrounding all-day free parking around the entire place. Another option was to hire a driving service like a taxi, Lyft, or Uber. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard self-sufficient food truck with exterior menus, order and pick up windows, an area for condiments, napkins, and utensils, no designated seating area, and natural lighting was prevalent during the daytime while electric street and truck lighting glowed at night. There were no TVs while background music came from a nearby business. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Fat Boys Food Truck was a surprising treat and would consider them again to potentially complete their limited menu (although I rarely ate red meat I'd try one of their Angus burgers) which didn't have any drinks which wasn't a concern this time around. The prices were food truck standard so no deals here. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $20.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.5 STARS

Thank You Chef Michael @ Fat Boys for catering our Anniversary dinner and brunch in palm springs. This was amazing food experience to our taste buds.

    Food Truck for work

Another food truck for work. 2nd time my employer has used this truck in 2 months so obviously everyone is satisfied. Prompt and professional, these folks were great. I'm guessing about125 people and everyone was happy. Personally, I had the steak fried which were very good. Too good as I would've been satisfied with just half, but I ate the other half anyway. Burgers, chicken wrap, fries, onion rings and some really good cheese cake. Definitely worth a stop if you're hungry! Enjoy

Michael and his team were exceptional for an event I hosted. He communicated professionally prior to the event and was amazing during. He showed up exactly when he said he would and every person we served was extremely pleased with what they got. Service was quick from when people ordered to when they had food in hand. His food was awesome. It was getting compliments all throughout the event from everyone. His team was so easy to work with and so friendly the whole time. The next event I have will definitely include Fat Boys!

Met up with an old co-worker at Ogopogo and this truck was right outside. He came back with fried chicken and fries and I was surprised as to how crispy, tender and flavorful they were! Will definitely get more food next time I am at the Brewery.

Where do I start?!!!! Michael and his team catered my wedding on October 28th in Joshua Tree and the food and service exceeded every expectation I had! If you're looking for absolutely delicious food, Fat Boys is the way to go! Even better, Michael and his team were so wonderful to work with. I called Michael months ago to talk about menu options. Right from the start he worked with us to customize the menu of our dreams -- brunch for dinner! He served fluffy french toast topped with seasonal berries, banana & whipped cream, their signature fried chicken and Belgian waffle topped with butter and bourbon-infused maple syrup (this was a HUGE HIT!!!), and homemade buttermilk biscuits topped with a creamy vegetarian gravy. Folks also got a choice of scrambled eggs (one with with Boursin cheese, truffle oil & chives and the other with mushrooms), plus deep fried diced potatoes with sauteed onions, bell peppers, and garlic, a choice of bacon or sausage (a veggie option as well), and fresh fruit. Michael also ordered compostable plates and silverware, checked in monthly, ordered back up generators, etc. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure everything was perfect. He is so humble, kind, and accommodating! And his team -- just amazing people! He brought a crew with him and they tackled electricity issues, wind, and bumpy backcountry roads to make our day incredible. We are SO SO GRATEFUL!!! AND THE FOOD! OMG! The most delicious and beautifully plated brunch I've ever had. Everyone came up to us throughout the night to tell us how amazing their dinner was. People went nuts over the brown butter, too! The team handled 100 guests so seamlessly, and with a huge smile on their faces. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! If you're looking for an EPIC menu and top-notch service, I highly recommend Fat Boys. Thank you Michael for making our wedding day such a massive success!!!!

We had a reservation so we were seated right away on the second floor, just above the bar. The music was a little on the loud side so conversation was a little strained. The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very friendly and informative but was not quite as attentive as we would expect for an establishment like this. This was our first time here, so we had to try the Asparagus Fries. The asparagus was cooked to perfection but the batter did not have much flavor. Members of our party ordered the California Salad, a Veggie Burger, the Meatloaf and a Picante Pizza. The California Salad was smaller than expected but delicious. The Veggie Burger was excellent! The Meatloaf was the hit of the table. It was so good that my wife did not offer a taste to any of us. She was in food Heaven. The pizza was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Since we were celebrating my birthday, our server brought me a delicious piece of double chocolate cake with a candle in it. Nice touch!! We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. Looking forward to return to savor the other items on the menu. Their drinks looked delicious as well, so we will definitely try those too.

We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

Service is really really slow. You may see 5 or 6 waiters on staff...but they aren't stopping at tables to check up on guests. It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. I took my mom for a nice lunch, and despite having a 3:30 reservation, the restaurant was surprisingly busy. No big deal, though--we were seated around 3:37 in a cozy booth with nice, dim lighting. I'll admit, my expectations were pretty high because I've heard so many great things about this place. So far, everything was off to a good start. The service was friendly, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely kind and welcoming. As for the food, we started with the artichoke and spinach dip. It was good, but unfortunately, I don't think it was worth the $20+ price tag. The portion and price made it feel more like it should have been an entrée than an appetizer. Unfortunately, my salmon was served raw in the middle. I had to send it back, and by that point, I had completely lost my appetite, which was disappointing. My mom ordered the Asian chicken salad. It was perfectly fine, but neither of us felt like it was anything particularly special or memorable. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, especially given how excited I was to finally try it. The atmosphere and service were great, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the expectations I had going in. Maybe it was just an off day, but for the prices, I expected a little more.
