EXCITED ABOUT THIS PLACE!!! This place was recommended by a caterer friend who is helping me with my Momma's 90th Birthday party. We are checking out places so I decided to go in and give it a try. My "party committee" consists of my sisters and nieces and below is the text I sent to them after the first large order. It was Mother's Day Sunday, after church, at approximately 1:30 p.m.. The people were friendly and the Revi ordering system was good, but would not allow you to "double up" on a side instead of having to pick two different sides. Here is what I said to family...."Hey y'all! As promised, we got food from Fat Boyz BBQ. Crazy that i've seen this place before but didn't remember it was there and have not tried it. It's super convenient for delivery to church...like 5 minutes away. I ordered a little bit of everything: St. Louis ribs baby back ribs smoked sausage brisket rib burnt ends mac n cheese collard greens baked beans potato salad hickory sauce the food was ordered to go. when i looked at it prior to leaving the place... omgosh, it looked really good overall. everything WAS really good. Mom really liked it as well as Mark (he had only burnt ends and mac n cheese). Potato salad was only no go. That item had too much vinegar or something. I don't like that tang taste. Greens were good! I could taste vinegar but it was not over powering. I also think we could add seasoning to the pan, if needed. brisket was delicious but I know it could be expensive. i'm not sure how I didn't get chicken but I can cure that soon. Both ribs with hickory and sausage were good. it was a little expensive ... $138 for the three meals, which lasted us two meals, but they got me on the 20% tip being added in which is whatever ...it was takeout lol. ______ THE FOLLOW UP..... I went back the following Tuesday after work, so at approximately 7:30 p.m.. The lady there was very kind. I told her that we were considering the place for catering for a party. The goal was to not just try the chicken but also to test the consistency of the taste of the food. Here's what I got: smoked chicken (dark meat) st. louis ribs brisket collard greens mac n cheese Hickory and sweet sauce Chicken: Really good. They even threw in two extra super small pieces. Great with the sauce. Yum! I think I ate most of them from my Momma and son. haha Ribs: They were initially good, but sadly, this time, they were dry and not meaty at all. They seemed to suffer from a 7:30 p.m. order. Brisket: I was excited to get this again because my son really likes it but it was unfortunately really dry... it was so dry that we could not eat it the next day and it had to be thrown away. Greens: This is a big deal for us because we did not really want to have greens as part of the party, but I know my Momma loved them from the prior order. This time, they had that strong vinegar taste that i am not a fan of. The consistency of taste was not there. I think that if we use them for catering, we will ask that they limit the vinegar and be sure to taste it. It could use more seasoning too. Mac n cheese: I don't think this can go wrong there! Sooo good. My son loves it. Our cups however, were a little low on portion, which was disappointing. I tried to add the pics from my phone but could not...I will update if I can. Overall, I think timing of the day for an order is important. I think this could be a five-star rating if I did not get the full array of food over a couple of days. Fat Boyz are still contenders for catering for my Momma's party (as I think catered food would not sit all day); AND I am considering them for office gatherings and events, as my law office is also about 5 mins away, next to the Broward County Courthouse. I always pass this location on my way to training at Florida Aikikai. After another busy day at work, and not being able to have lunch, I decided to check them out. It was quiet when I got there, but it started to fill up shortly after I arrived. The menu was quite extensive, but I didn't want to eat too much food before hitting the mat. There was an option to place the order in person or electronically. I chose to speak with someone, so I could get some inside info. I decided to go with the brisket sandwich and the cheddar jalapeno cornbread. The food came out quickly and looked amazing. Before I added any of their many sauces, I tried the brisket by itself. The meat wasn't over seasoned, and was full of smoky goodness. And it was extremely tender, but not falling apart. Even if you didn't have teeth, you would still have enjoyed it. And the sandwich was packed full of brisket. The cornbread was crumbly and light, with a little kick from the jalapenos. I really enjoyed the experience, the staff, and the food. I'll be back when I have a little more time, so I can try even more things on the menu. read more

The Mac and cheese were good . Brisket was ok at first , just my opinion , a little dry for me as I like medium rare everything and then I tried a different portion and it was delish. My first time here and it was very tasty. They were out of some meats the Saturday night we visited. We ordered a 3 meat platter with two sides. We had the brisket, pulled pork, and jerk chicken. My favorite was the brisket. The smokey mac and cheese and the cornbread were amazing. The only downfall is the price! With tax and tip it was $41 for one entree and no drink. There are tables to sit at inside to eat. You order at the counter. Staff was friendly. Parking is easy in the attached lot. read more

DO NOT ORDER from their lunch menu, these people are disgustingly greedy and disrespectful, I'm finding out that if you don't tip you may not get what you paid for I've ordered from them in the past. mind you this is a pick up and I usually always tip but the one time I don't and orders some sausage links I get 4 cold cut small pieces of sausage in a wet bun. Took a trip to Fat Boyz bbq as a friend recommended it. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcomed. The restaurant is a nice little quiet spot with few tables to dine in. I ordered the three meat plate with 2 sides and corn nuggets. The corn nuggets were good as that was something new. I ordered the brisket, jerk chicken and st Louis ribs. Let's just say the meat was served warm not as if it was hot off a grill or smoker. The Mac and cheese was bland I was a bit confused by the taste. I can't explain how much I loved this spot! Thankfully I have a friend who knew the best hidden gems because this place never came across my timeline and I am confused as to why. The food was so delicious you barely want to put it down. They have the best BBQ around. The menu is insane I spent half my time trying not to order everything and narrow down my options. You have to try as many side as you can I had the baked beans and love them. I had the pulled pork sandwich which came with mac and cheese on top and it was to die for. I tried to do an online order thru their system. After building a $400 order, their system said I ordered too much for delivery. When I tried to call their location, I went thru their prompt and selected "6" to talk to a representative......it hung on me. I tried two more times.....same thing. I left a message on their website letting them know "AI was making my order difficult", I received a phone call within 5 minutes telling me "how do you expect me to run 4 businesses without AI". Let's start with the good - their chicken wings were the hit of the party. We ordered the lemon pepper and Carolina Heat and both flavors were delicious. The bad - the entire online ordering experience. I ordered for pick up the night before our event. I was charged and received an email confirmation. The next day, I get a voicemail from someone saying that my order may not have been sent to this location so I need to call or check online. First off, there was no way to check online. They did have a phone number to call so I did that. No answer. Mailbox full. So we had to go to the store. They didn't have our order. I guess they called their manager and they said they would have our order ready at 3pm. My boyfriend gets there at 3:30pm - the wings were not ready. He had to wait a half hour for the wings. We understand things happen - but we physically had to go there to ensure the wings would be ready and they were not. They did give us some sides to make up for the long wait, which was appreciated. We where coming off a 7 day cruise looking for some where to find some food with a little seasoning and we ran across Fat Boys BBQ. We thought let's give it a try, this was exactly what we were looking for the best BBQ that we had in a long time. AMAZING Bbq. Best bbq in FL. This place actually seasons the meat and its cooker to perfection. Had the brisket and chicken and nothing was left on the plate. 1st time we went was later in the day so not much was left, today was for lunch and it was great.
