Dave Donatelli is a joke. My HOA had him come out to do WATER DAMAGE work with another company he apparently owns, Donatelli's Service. They don't have a Yelp but I sure took a pic of his pest company truck he arrived in, which lead me here. This review is strictly for the unreal behavior of Dave Donatelli. I have a huge leak in my unit and his guy comes out Sun morning to set up fans. Dave calls to tell me he'll be there Tues morning to assess what's going on. He also brags about his "amazing" website which is as much of a joke as he is and is some stock website builder from the early 2000s. This should have been my first clue something is off with this guy. Anyways, I say I need to be out of my place by 10am as I have an appointment and he tells me he has a staff meeting in the morning but will come before his staff meeting. Tues morning rolls around and I'm there at 8am. 9am rolls around and he's still not here. I call to find out his eta and am told it'll be an hour...at 10am. Great, I have to cancel my other appointment. Dave himself gets on the phone and once I start to ask some basic questions about the work he's going to do, he gets defensive and tells me I can use another company if I don't like what he's telling me. I say that's not the case, as I wanted to make sure the second floor leak that started from the third floor unit was addressed and not left to get moldy. He condescendingly starts to mansplain that they work with Titan Environmental and that they (Titan) would be out the next day to take tests. I specifically remember this, as I'm wanting to move my belongings out before they do this. Dave arrives at 9:50am, and I ask how long his process is going to take, he tells me he can't say until he sees it, which is fair enough. He starts mansplaining the process again and tells me Titan Environmental will be out at a later date to take tests. I questioned, saying that he told me they'd be out tomorrow and he starts to backtrack, saying that he never told me that. As noted, I specifically remember him saying they'd be out the next day, as I wanted to get my belongings out of the house. Dave gets super defensive and then tells his guys to grab the fans and that he's not doing this job. I press him further, asking how he couldn't remember what he told me less than an hour ago and at this point I'm irritated and ask him what happened to our earlier appointment time. He claims he doesn't know what I'm talking about. I reminded him that he told me he had a staff meeting in the morning and that he would "figure it out" and come over before the meeting. That never happened. Again, he denies ever having that conversation with me. At this point I realize the type of gaslighting-person he is, one who has no problem lying to your face. He even tells me HE is a good person (I never brought his character up so not sure why he did), he said I have no idea what kind of work he does, asked if I knew who he was (seriously?!?) and then he told me that I am unable to communicate with him. He told his guys that I was assaulting him. By asking questions?!? Way to project yourself onto others, Dave. He walks off, saying I cost him $1,000. I tell him he can probably get some job exterminating pests elsewhere. Dave seems to be your typical egotistical guy who talks himself up in the mirror, and then repeats those things to his clients, hoping they'll believe him. I've dealt with people like home before and all it takes is for him to feel slighted before he starts going off on you. For everyone who claims he's a nice guy, those people probably didn't question him or his work to receive the treatment myself and a few other received. These guys are great. My grandmother had a horrible pest problem and these guys came through when We needed it most. Grandma was trying to zap the termites on her own and ended up falling off the ladder and bumping her head. When she came to she started speaking Portuguese! These guys came in and tented her house up and made those wood loving fleas disappear. Not sure what this girl Gil is screaming about below- Dave was one of the most genuine people I've met. On time and even showed up with a smile and smelled like cinnamon. Guess you can't please them all but she must've really done something to tick off ol Dave. Great guy- family run business... Fat Cat went above and beyond!!! My association called them to come out to address RATS in my walls, yuck! They did everything the association would pay them to do and came back to do he things I wanted done that the association wouldn't pay for. They didn't charge me for the extra. I'm in the remodeling business and half of my business comes from property management. I needed to replace some windows but there was a bee infestation in our way not allowing us to work on the building. Dave and his fat cat crew eliminated them almost the first time. The next day they were still coming out of the upper vents. I called Dave to complain, and he told me to give it a day or two for the residual effect of his treatment to work. He was right. Bees gone! Tenants in the building were scared to death as the bees had already made their way into the kids rooms. This was the second time I used Fat Cat. The first time was for a termite inspection report for my home purchase. I'm loyal to quality family run business. If they're on a tight schedule , be patient, they'll get to you, and totally worth the wait if needed. read more

So my parents have been having a serious problem with spiders mostly brown widows! She has 8 grandkids that play in the backyard all the time! I would go out there everynight and kill at least 10-15. And yes they had another pest control place come out and spray every few weeks, and they sucked! Ever since fat cat came here and sprayed I haven't found one spider!! I would not recommend this company to anyone! Super disappointing. Came to my mother's house, did a bid, we accepted, original start date was about a month out. It got to be close to the start date, they emailed and pushed the date back another 6 weeks. We were told that Dave was very reputable etc. etc., so we went with it. We are now 3 months after original bid and Dave "no shows" (on the date he confirmed was excellent), AND does not call. My mom calls and gets voicemail. I called and I emailed (as I was very involved in helping my Mom with all of this) -- no reply from anyone. They never showed, never communicated with me or my Mom, and we are done! Just bad business. I had missed a association situation where they came out to spray for termites. Where they planned it on a day I was working, I shuffled around to get someone to work for me for a few hours. I understand that was my fault but you have to understanding I did not pick these hours it was just defaulted on me. They have a time spanned of four hours and showed up that the last hour by that time I had to be at worked. I called them up. They were really nice about it and say they would come out spray. I called them up and they say they would call me back. I waited for them no one called me back for weeks. I called them again and no one called me back. Then one day out of the blue, while driving they called me. She called me. I told her I was driving now. It didn't seems to click in her mind that I was driving. I couldn't take my planner out and give her an answer right there. (how unsafe) I was desperate. I waited for them to come. No one called me. No one showed up. Once they have your money the situation changes. You are on their turf now. I work, and have a busy schedule, they aren't very accommodating. They really lack in communication. I would not recommend this company based on the customer service that I have received from them (please note I did not receive any work from them so I cannot attest to the quality of what they do). My real estate company contacted them for an estimate during the process of us closing escrow in which they provided a thorough estimate with very fair pricing. Now that our escrow officially closed I contacted them 3 times in order to try to schedule the job for a future date. The first two times I called I was told I would be contacted back with no avail. The 3rd time I called (which was my last an final attempt) I was rudely informed that they had bigger jobs (HOAs) that they were behind on and could not fit mine in. I am in no hurry and could wait for the job to be done at anytime in the next few months but was denied that as well. I was told they would give me some referrals but was told I would have to wait to get those from them as well (I wouldn't hold my breath on that so I told them not to bother). When I let them know I would be informing my real estate agent not to use them in the future he said he was fine with that. And when i said he shouldn't be giving bids if he wasn't able to fulfill the work he said he would take that into consideration (and hopefully they do). If it was my company and I did not have time to do the work I quoted someone I would let them know right away, be apologetic for any miscommunication or inconvenience it caused and would immediately provide them quality referrals who I know could service them. Not just let the customer go upset and frustrated. Apparently they have enough business to keep them going and quality treatment of potential customers is not a priority. read more

A little bit of info regarding a comment made by GIL. It's very upsetting to see that you actually took the time to bad mouth Dave and his company. I know you saw them recording your meeting with Dave and I saw it. You forgot to mention in your review that YOU got into Dave's face and you even hit his truck with your fist. YOU began insulting him as soon as he got out of his vehicle and he was trying to explain that the meeting was btw 12-2 not 12:15 which is the time he got there. As far as I know you don't live here your son does and you had his key. YOU also forgot to mention that the insults came from you first until you raised your hand and threatened to physically hurt him, that's where Dave lost it after he told you not once or twice but many times to backup from his personal space. I have worked with these guys for many, many, years and they are great at what they do. Never have they been rude or obnoxious, or disrespectful, Dave and the guys are perfect gentleman and are always on top of things. read more
