Well, this place will soon become iconic and hard to get a table at. Really spectacular food - top notch bar b q. Not only is it great quality, but also the flavors are very unique and interesting. The beans and chicken, both delicious, were cooked with a blend of spices that was different and original. The pulled pork and pit beef were more traditional and equally delicious. We just want to say the pulled pork is just really delicious and had a genuine smoked taste. The barbecue sauce had a nice taste to it with just a little bit of spicy heat in it. I got lost going home to Pittsburgh from Ocean City starving we saw the BBQ sign and it was fate. The brisket beans and Mac and cheese were amazing. I saw an item called cornpone and had to try it. I'll just say it is beyond words incredible. I still have dreams about it. Getting lost is usually a miserable experience but this time the sun shown down upon us. Discovered this place by accident with JoshInChains. We were on a whirlwind Delaware state tour and passing through Bridgeville. One of us had to pee and both of us were starving. We agreed to eat at the next roadside place we saw, assuming it would be an Amish outdoor cookery. Luckily for us we found Fat Daddy's. This has to be the best BBQ I have ever had. We stopped here on the way to the beach 1/20/2012. You have to go. This place kicked butt. Pork butt that is. Carolina style. I had the sandwich it was I would say 4 stars. My wife had brisket. I would give that well over 5 stars if possible. It was INCREDIBLE. All the sides are made on site. Collars and mac & cheese - both delicious. He also sells his stuff by the pound. As of now he is BYOB. We did not know and ended up with the sweet tea. Again home brewed. Wonderful place Treat yourself to some down home cooking. Go here and eat. I was in the area on business. I am a fat Mama from Tennessee so when I say the food here is AWESOME, I know what I am talking about. I had the chicken (huge half chicken) platter with beans and mac and cheese. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I went back two days in a row, once for lunch and once for dinner. Consistent and Oh! So tasty! I never would have thought I could find such good bbq north of The Mason Dixon line. This is the best restaurant in this area! Great BBQ!! First time here for my wife and I. We heard great things about this place, and it lived up. I got the mixed meat platter, and my wife ordered the BBQ chicken platter. Both came with 2 sides. Everything was just excellent and we had a plenty to take home. I would certainly recommend the brisket. Well we would recommend everything.. This is my favorite place for BBQ. I wish I could come here more and not have to take a vacation to get here. Instead of cornbread they serve cornpone which is very moist. I ordered the pulled pork which is so delicious. First bite you're slammed with flavor and a bit of bite from the "secret spices" which Is even better when you add their barbecue sauce. The ribs must have been smoked for all day because the smokey flavor is ingrained deeply in the meat. The Mac and cheese is great. My only reservation is that the coleslaw has an overwhelming mayonnaise flavor when eaten alone, but understandable when added to the pulled pork sandwich. I wish I lived closer. Once everyone was served the cook made his rounds to make sure everyone was happy. I'm shocked that the place isn't packed on Friday during lunch time. read more

I would skip. My husband and I stopped for lunch with our toddler on the way home from the beach. The food was just meh. What was worse, the staff was very rude. We opted to eat on the patio and were told we had to order our food to go to do so. Fine, no biggie. Then I went in and asked to use the restroom and was told that it was for customers only. I told her I was eating with my family and she eventually just said 'fine you can use it.' The bathroom was filthy. We ended up eating in our car because the flies were so bad outside. Over all a disappointing experience. We won't be back and will tell friends not to bother as well. read more

What a find!! We ended up here 2 days in a row, while the boys played baseball at Sports at the Beach. Highly recommend pulled pork. It has some "pop". If you like spice, you'll love it. We've eaten at Fat Daddy's four times since we "discovered" them on a trip back from Bridgeville a few weeks ago. The outside appearance of the place gives the impression of a biker bar but don't let that fool you. Since there's no beer, there's no bikers! The place is a small family-run inexpensive BBQ business that's been open a couple of years. The meats are smoked on site by Chef Jeff and the sides are freshly home-made by Mama Frey. Our take: generally fabulous on the three sandwiches - smoked seasoned brisket, pulled pork and the smoked pit beef. The ribs are also fantastic. The chicken - okay, but not in the same league. Now here's the downside - when the ribs and brisket are "on" they are unbeatable, but we had one time when the meat was a bit dry, not horribly dry, just a tiny bit dry. A splash of BBQ sauce helped. The pit beef and pulled pork are a bit more consistent by virtue of the prep method. The pit beef is smoked to rare then finished au jus when ordered. The sides are generally very good. We ranked them in order of preference as: baked beans, potato salad, mac & cheese, french fries. Don't miss - home-made lemonade. We never had room for desserts. For their very reasonable prices, its well worth the stop. Especially for dinner as we have heard that the Georgetown law firms have discovered Fat Daddy's and it can be busy in the noon to 1:00 timeframe. All in all, Fat Daddy can expect many years of return business from us. read more

We get Fat Daddys at least once a week for carry out. ALWAYS delicious! My favorite is the pulled pork with fries and my fiance says the brisket is the best he has ever had. If getting take out make sure to also order a side of BBQ sauce (we each get one) as none come with the meals. The owners are always very friendly and make you feel like you know them. read more

Most of my family enjoyed their meal but I have to say mine was just pasty brisket. Very fatty and it was overcooked.

The food here is really good. However the hundreds of flies that were surrounding us during our visit was extremely frustrating and gross. If the health department was making a visit to this location today they would have had several health code violations. There wasn't just a few flies there were literally hundreds of them all over the place. I could see eating here during the winter time being an enjoyable experience since there wouldn't be flies and we could have really enjoyed the amazing food. read more

Rustic atmosphere. Walked in and was greeted by someone sitting at the counter. Asked him how the plate of ribs in front of him was and he responded "Great!" Think he may have been the owner because he came by later to check on how our meal was, also cleared the dishes later. Food came out about three minutes after we ordered it. Food is great, had the pulled pork and potato salad. Portions were just right for us. You can also catch a brew here which suited me just fine. I ordered the pit beef platter coleslaw and baked beans. The Pitt beef had no flavor or BBQ sauce. The coleslaw tasted like pepper and mayonnaise mixed together. The baked beans were absolutely horrible truly there's no other way to describe them. The rest of the meals ordered by my family were just as bad. The owner told us his never had anyone tell him they didn't like his goof. This was out first time and will not be returning. The food is horrible. read more
