Jerky (aka Half St. Louis ribs)
    Denise B.

Don't waste your money. The St Louis ribs, which are supposed to be meaty and marbled, were so thin and dry that they were basically jerky. Couldn't even bite through them. So disappointing for a BBQ restaurant that should specialize in ribs. I've had better ribs from Applebees.

Always a great meal! Went on a Sunday when there was brunch and big does their buffet have all the things! It's $35 per person and $15 for kids. Took a walk and looked at the food available on the buffet and it's a deal if you can eat!! Lots of terrific options. We sat at bar and ordered from menu as didn't want buffet (too much food). Ordered a burger - the best! So tasty and delicious. Fries good too. Also had the Carolina Cuban with no bun and Wowzer! Super tasty. Service was great. Very friendly and kept checking on us. This is a BBQ joint vibe that is quite elevated. Great decor. Will always stop here as it's such a great place. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity. They do have live music and other events. They also have a smaller location in downtown Rehoboth, as well as bigger one in downtown Lewes.

My wife was in the mood for BBQ tonight so we decided to try Bethany Blues. We were pleasantly surprised with our meals. Overall, we have not had good BBQ at restaurants in the past. Tonight was the exception. The BBQ and the service we received was very good. My wife had the brisket cheesesteak and I had the Carolina chopped pork sandwich with hand cut fries. Timber Jack provided smooth R&B guitar music while we dined. Good food, huge beer selection and reasonable prices make this restaurant worth checking out.

Great food, lots of places to sit, plenty of TVs for sports folks, and great service! Came here before a matinee down the road, and even on a football Sunday with the Birds playing, it wasnt too loud and our service was great. The menu has a lot of hits, and I like the touch of cornbread while we were deciding. Like many good BBQ places, Bethany Blues has their own sauces tableside, and they are really good. I opted for a healthier option of pulled chicken over the house salad with blue cheese. Very tasty and big! The meal portion was plenty of food and the chicken was quite good. Definitely a good receptacle for the Carolina style bbq sauce. The burgers did look quite good and will have to get on a return. Big ups to our sever, immediately clocked that I could drink a diet pepsi or two, really kept my glass full. Great experience and would come back!

We stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. The dining room was closed but the bar and lounge were both open. We got seated in the lounge and there was live music in the bar (Electric Smoke). They were pretty good. Patrons were up and dancing. The bartender who waited on us were attentive. We got a bloody mary and orange crush. The crab dip appetizer with chips was pretty amazing. Overall, a great experience.

Came highly recommended and don't regret it at all. Very welcoming and friendly staff with ample amount of seating and great vibes. The brisket nachos were tasty and enough to satisfy the whole table with still having enough left over. The oldbay butter wings were also a bit crispy on the outside with the right amount of seasoning and moist on the inside. The ultimate bbq platter was a hit flavor all around in each of the meats, turkey not dry and seasoned perfectly. Smoky and sweet flavors throughout the entire platter. The cornbread also good and moist kids enjoyed that very much. Great place for families, friends and dates. Can't wait to come back !

Sat at the bar and Mike was our bartender. He took good care of us and had good convo. Ordered the crab dip. It was very good just seemed like a small portion to me. The cheeseburger and fries were excellent. The smoked olde fashioned was perfect. Reasonably priced for the area. Would def return:)

Every year my crazy man goes running into the freezing ocean. They call him a Polar Bear, and this is his 28th year doing this to raise money for Special Olympics. Since the pandemic they've kept their "Plunge on your own" option, which we love because it's hard to keep track of your Bear in the massive crowds. While we could plunge anywhere, we still enjoy going down to Rehobeth in the off season. Doing this also allows us to get to Bethany Blues for Sunday brunch. Pre-pandemic they had a big buffet of food- but only until 2 PM and with a 1 PM plunge it wasn't happening and. That's gone now. In its place is the Ultimate Breakfast Sampler. It's nearly the size of the table and full of options. Fruit. Yogurt. Bacon Biscuits - with or without sausage gravy. BBQ - beef AND pork. So much more. It's a LOT of food, the three of us could not finish. It was also delicious. Freshly made food, great flavors. Service was great, friendly, efficient and responsive. Highly recommend.

    great bar. Friendly bartenders.

Loved this Bbq Blues bar. Great entertainment the night I was there. I sat at the bar and ordered the St. Louis ribs. They were delicious! The service was good and I loved the vibe in the bar area. Nice place.

The Ultimate BBQ Sampler is one of the greatest meals value-wise in the area. 3 pounds of BBQ splits perfectly between 2 people and doesn't break the bank, not to mention the flavor and quality is exceptional! The interior is unique and almost feels more preppy than it does a BBQ joint. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu.

They texted us and the text provided a wait list showing what place we were in the queue, and much was pretty nice. For the appetizer, we got the Crab Spinach Dip, which was odd in and of itself because the menu says it has artichokes but doesn't mention spinach. It came with chips and was very tasty. I must admit I was a little disappointed in the portion. The bowl of dip was not full and while the chips did cover the amount of dip, it wasn't very much. For dinner, I got the Fish & Chips, Fries and Cole Slaw. It wasn't bad. Not the best I've ever had, but not bad. I'd probably try something else next time. My wife got the Crab Imperial, which was very good. She also got a Bloody Mary to go with her meal. My son got the Big Shrimp with Saffron rice and broccoli, which was very good. Our friend got the Big Chicken with what looked like pureed Yams. He thought it was decent. The highlight was the dessert, which was the Double Chocolate Cake and a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. We really enjoyed it. Our wait staff did a decent job as well. We will definitely be back.

I had written a previous review. My wife said it was too much so I took it down and revised it…read more The food was amazing. They do serve some serious nachos! The portions for most of the food is deceptively large and all scratch recipes. You will be leaving with take-out boxes for sure. The Service was pretty awesome. Last summer, my wife and I discovered First State, which at the time was still new. Dallas was our server the first time that we ate at First State, and then we were lucky enough to have him again this time and he remembered us. Before we could get a word out he said "Hey, welcome back!" like we had been friends for years. BEST SERVER EVER! Extremely attentive without crowding our table. Very knowledgeable. I suspect that that is a reflection of the whole staff. The hostess was pleasant. A bit quiet but pleasant. The bartender, Joel (?), seemed fun and engaging. He welcomed everyone like they were regulars, and really looked like he was enjoying his job. Even the young kid that dropped our food was on point, setting our dishes in the right places without asking. Making sure that we didn't need anything before he left. The whole experience was great. I'm a fan and we will be back. The atmosphere and vibe was fun and relaxing. Not your standard rush to order, eat fast, and "here's your bill" sit down restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and it is open and spacious. The place has that great neighborhood brewpub vibe feel. We LOVED the beer label walls! I want to do that in my man cave! Awesome idea. The large TVs were playing a variety of sports. The music was pretty good. Maybe a touch loud. They have live music that seemed to be setting up as we were leaving. Apparently they have live music every Friday and Saturday. We wish that we could have stayed. Dallas said that the band coming in that night was pretty popular. All in all, First State was a fun, and delicious dining experience. my only criticism would be that it is a bit pricey. I understand that scratch restaurants are going to be more expensive, but charging someone for a small container of sauce seems a little like nickel and dime budgeting. Understandable but not attractive All in all, First State is a great time. Ask for Dallas. He's next level service and you'll leave with a new friend. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR FIRST STATE!!!!

Our meal included: - Marinier Mussels (shared) - Brewhouse Pretzel (my wife loves pretzels) - Brewhouse wings (shared) - Cheese Burger + Fries (for our youngest) - Birria Flatbread (for our oldest) Overall the food was good and everyone enjoyed what they had. I had one of their dark beers (I think it was a chocolate porter) and my wife had a margarita. The girls wanted something sweet so they got the chocolate cake and a Smores Cheesecake. I think this was their favorite part of the meal because they were slightly reluctant to share. The wait staff were great and very attentive. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend.
