It's a solid 4+ I ate here twice in a week. The first order was chicken, pulled pork, greens, garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken was excellent, the greens and potatoes were tasty. The sauces are solid. I had to take away a star for the highly disappointing pork. It was dry as the Sahara and lacked smoke. That was a bummer. For the second visit, I got bold and ordered brisket. It was tender, juicy, and had just enough smoke to make me happy. I got the greens again and coleslaw. Both sides were great. In all my years of visiting the area, I would have never consider eating barbecue. I can happily say that Bethany Blues changed my mind. We were seated right away on a Thursday night. Not a super loud place. We were seated at a large table and we were just two people! So, it was nice to have extra space. Blues brisket nachos 6/10: Chips weren't stale. Hot brisket chunks. Wish the cheese was hotter because it didn't pull apart smoothly. No cheese pull unfortunately. Flavor was good! Crab Mac and cheese 7/10: Crispy, thin onions on top were so addicting. I don't even like onions but found them to be good. Wish there were more crab chunks. I'm unfortunately comparing to the real southern BBQ we are accustomed to. If you're like us, this place isn't really "it". It was nothing to write home about or honestly even mention to anyone. Always a great meal! Went on a Sunday when there was brunch and big does their buffet have all the things! It's $35 per person and $15 for kids. Took a walk and looked at the food available on the buffet and it's a deal if you can eat!! Lots of terrific options. We sat at bar and ordered from menu as didn't want buffet (too much food). Ordered a burger - the best! So tasty and delicious. Fries good too. Also had the Carolina Cuban with no bun and Wowzer! Super tasty. Service was great. Very friendly and kept checking on us. My wife was in the mood for BBQ tonight so we decided to try Bethany Blues. We were pleasantly surprised with our meals. Overall, we have not had good BBQ at restaurants in the past. Tonight was the exception. The BBQ and the service we received was very good. My wife had the brisket cheesesteak and I had the Carolina chopped pork sandwich with hand cut fries. Living in New York City makes it incredibly challenging to find good barbecue. I guess I got spoiled all those years living in Virginia, especially my time in Winchester, where I was able to easily access some of the best barbecue ever. The food here is remarkably good at a reasonable price. It is not quite southern barbecue, but the food is tasty and enjoyable. Some of their dishes are quite creative, like their mac n cheese skillet with kielbasa and pulled pork. In my opinion, barbecue restaurants should have a room in the back for naps, because that is what you will be doing after you eat here. It does get a bit loud here with the live entertainment, and parking can be hard to find on weekends, but that is understood. Better than an empty lot and walking out on an empty stomach. read more

Came here before a matinee down the road, and even on a football Sunday with the Birds playing, it wasnt too loud and our service was great. The menu has a lot of hits, and I like the touch of cornbread while we were deciding. Like many good BBQ places, Bethany Blues has their own sauces tableside, and they are really good. I opted for a healthier option of pulled chicken over the house salad with blue cheese. Very tasty and big! The meal portion was plenty of food and the chicken was quite good. Definitely a good receptacle for the Carolina style bbq sauce. The burgers did look quite good and will have to get on a return. Big ups to our sever, immediately clocked that I could drink a diet pepsi or two, really kept my glass full. Great experience and would come back! read more

We liked this restaurant but on June 18 we reserved and went to Bethany Blues. We ordered three appetizers. They came out in normal time. The onion frizzles were in a dish with 1/4 inch of frying oil in the bottom. So a third of the onions were not crispy. And the onions were not separated but clumpy And then our main meal did not come out. After 45 minutes or so, the food server finally noticed that the main course was not even cooked and told the kitchen. We had been there a long time and I wanted to cancel the main course at that point but just told the server that we would take it "to go." After another long wait, he brought the main course to go and we packed up, paid the bill and left. The delvarva chicken was dry as a bone, not edible. It was very disappointing since it had been a favorite restaurant of ours. Also the sides were missing when we got home. read more

Every year my crazy man goes running into the freezing ocean. They call him a Polar Bear, and this is his 28th year doing this to raise money for Special Olympics. Since the pandemic they've kept their "Plunge on your own" option, which we love because it's hard to keep track of your Bear in the massive crowds. While we could plunge anywhere, we still enjoy going down to Rehobeth in the off season. Doing this also allows us to get to Bethany Blues for Sunday brunch. Pre-pandemic they had a big buffet of food- but only until 2 PM and with a 1 PM plunge it wasn't happening and. That's gone now. In its place is the Ultimate Breakfast Sampler. It's nearly the size of the table and full of options. Fruit. Yogurt. Bacon Biscuits - with or without sausage gravy. BBQ - beef AND pork. So much more. It's a LOT of food, the three of us could not finish. It was also delicious. Freshly made food, great flavors. Service was great, friendly, efficient and responsive. Highly recommend. read more

She has a phenomenal memory. She took care of us right away, got our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. All our dishes were delicious. I ordered the spinach salad with grilled chicken. All the toppings were generous. For appetizers we ordered the wings and crab dip. The crab dip with made with Mayo instead of cream cheese, it was runny but not bad. It came with plenty of chips for a party of 4 to share. The Black & Bleu Brisket Burger was my favorite, the beef was so juicy and all the toppings were yummy. The side of Mac and cheese was bland. My brother ordered the pull pork and I will say the meat was very dry. It was on a thick bun which was also extremely dry. The food was great, the location is huge with plenty of free parking. With the bbq sauces anyway, they were good. I liked the Carolina sauce which was sweet, mixed with the spicy one, which was not too spicy. Others enjoyed their burgers. Fried pickles was a favorite. Great service and great food. The pulled pork burrito is a must have! The only thing that is not needed is the seasoning on top. Other than that the burrito is perfect as is. The cheese sauce is awesome and the sauce it makes keeps you coming back for more. The chips and salsa are just okay. The BBQ sauces are good, it just depends on your taste on which one you like, but they are all good. I also tried the fried pickles and it was a miss for me. You don't taste the pickles and you feel like you're eating just fries. They are more like pickle strips that are too thin. Atmosphere is friendly and great for lunch. I'll be back again. read more

We were so excited to stop in here. We love BBQ and blues music. This seemed like the perfect place. It's a pretty big place. It was trivia night so it was pretty busy but we were able to get a seat pretty quickly. This was back August so it was still peak season and it was a weekend. We were seated very close to the guy doing trivia. I'd never seen trivia done this way. One question and then a long time for everyone to figure out the one answer while music played. Boooooooooooring. Give me 10 questions back to back on one topic then move to the next topic. Are all trivia events in the area this boring? Egads. I'm glad we didn't go for the trivia. On to the food. Our server was nice and did a good job. That's where the meal positives stop. I had a salad with pulled pork and my husband had the chicken salad with the basil and other things. Both were totally boring. No smoky flavor (and we were only drinking water so nothing hampered our taste buds). Nothing savory. Nothing tasty. Nothing. How do you take the food and make it so boring? Maybe we were just there on an off night. Maybe we ordered the two most flavorless items on the menu. We both had to douse our food with the BBQ sauce to make them enjoyable. Even then, they ended up tasting mostly of the sauce instead of the sauce being an accent (the way it's supposed to be). I might give this another try, but I'm not holding my breath. read more

I was pretty satisfied after eating here! Our waitress was very attentive, and she even let us sample a crush drink to see if we liked it before ordering it! The baby back ribs were probably one of the best ribs I've ever had, so make sure to order these. Half rack is plenty for one person! The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because the beef brisket was overcooked and unfortunately pretty dry, even when dousing it with bbq sauce. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits with bacon and fruit because I love each of those items. Unfortunately the sausage gravy was EXTREMELY salty and I really could not enjoy it. I made it through a partial biscuit and could not do it. The bacon was good as well as the fruit. I didn't drink but I was told the mimosa was not as strong and there was a pitcher that was ordered. Warning - if you're a BBQ fan you will find this place lacking. Went with a group for dinner and it was truly one of the worst experiences I have had in this area. We must have had 4 different people coming to the table so I could not tell who our server actually was. Each one asked how we were and if we needed anything only to disappear and not bring what was asked for- whether it was drinks to Steak sauce. Half our party was served entrees 10 minutes before the other half got theirs. My order was wrong both times it came out to me and it wasn't worth the wait. BBQ ribs were so dried out they cracked. Pulled chicken was very dry, BBQ beans were underwhelming. They offer 3 kinds of BBQ sauce but they don't represent well - I've never seen a Carolina sauce that was red like regular BBQ sauce. The cherry on the top was my wife getting broken glass in her club soda. I'm not going back here again. There are many other options in the area to not waste a meal here. read more

Wow! This restaurant is now on my restaurant rotation when I visit Rehoboth. On our way home my husband and I stopped here for lunch. We were quickly seated in a nice booth and our waitress came right over. We were pretty hungry so thought an appetizer would be good way to start. We ordered wings with barbecue mustard sauce. They were indeed delicious! I then realized that I had a check-in free pickle appetizer. We got that too. The shaved fried pickles were scrumptious. We ate only a few in order to leave room for our entrees. My husband had the blue burger with coleslaw and fries. I had a lunch combo, brisket slider, fries and salad. Both entrees were large portions. We skipped the buns and went straight for the meat. Beef brisket was tender and nicely smoked. My husband's burger was cooked to order and very tasty. We only nibbled on the huge side of fries we each had. My husband could then enjoy his side of Cole slaw. My side salad was huge. In fact, it could have been served on a larger plate. It was loaded with corn, onions tomatoes and greens. It's probably redundant to say we enjoyed the meal and left stuffed lol. But we did! Atmosphere was cozy; service great, prices reasonable; food delightful. If you're at the shore and need a change up from seafood, this is the place you want to spend your money. read more
