Need vegan choice that are good not just side of rice big bowl of it , and veggies delight dish , just runny and not much flavor, over cooked veggies, and vegetable dumplings only steam way side tiny bit of dipping sauce, edamame. Need to be able to get rice noodles as a substitute for rice . The man said can't . Nice staff though enough English speaking to understand the order.

Had the Spicy Sautéed Pork Intestines / 干煸肥肠 - $16 - They are delicious but not to eat it all as a whole meal, but more as an appetizer to share with 3-4 others. Minus 2 Stars as the sodas in the cooler were warm, and the ice tea tasted really old. Warning !!! This place ALWAYS smells like sewer when you walk in, but the food is delicious !!!

Food was not the best ordered a few things , fried rice , some dumplings , wonton aswell as the cheeseburger egg rolls the dumplings and wonton were supposed to be chicken but seemed to be more pork the cheeseburger rolls were filled with very dry ground beef the only good thing I can say was their portion on the friend rice was a lot no one even greeted us as we came in it was not a very welcoming setting. Save your coin.

Shrimp Pan-Fried Eggplant with Stuffed Shrimp

It's been a year since we been here and the last time we were here the food was amazing. We were so excited to come back and get our favorites along with some new items but we are so saddened by our food quality and flavors. We ordered our favorite which is the shrimp eggplant but it was flavorless and too saucy. The thick sauce was a slurry corn starch and I did not care for that. Shrimp and eggplant were under seasoned. The general tso chicken and orange beef had the same slurry thick sauce, same color, and very close in flavor. Thick batter and hardly any meat in both dishes. The flavor of the orange beef was better but it was still a subpar dish. The meat was so thin I couldn't even taste it. The hot and sour soup is mostly soup and very little ingredients in it. It does not come with fried wonton for the extra crunch the soup really needed. Our other favorite was the salt and pepper shrimp but when ordered it this time the dish was overwhelming under seasoned and bland. All dishes came out hot but it seems like the chef has changed since we last visited. They now offer sushi too and had remodeled the place. You still have to self serve your water and ice and get your own plates to eat. Staff doesn't seem like the same people so I think based on that maybe something has changed. Do you recommend this place? We really liked this place but unfortunately after this dining experience we can't. I came home with a stomach ache and wasn't fond to any of the 5 dishes.

This was our first time to check out Fat Dragon. It is located in a strip. The interior and seating is pretty basic. They have self service for drinks and utensils. However, the staff did check on us occasionally as they brought out the dishes. We came in starving and unsure what we wanted so we ordered a large variety. The miso soup was flavorful, but on the salty side so make sure you have water on standby! The dan-dan noodles were OK and also very spicy. It was a good portion size though. We got the BBQ pork buns based on Yelp reviews. They were good, but like your typical buns. The only dish that was disappointing was the Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs. We were looking forward to these, but there lots of bones in small pieces and the flavor didn't hit the mark for us. Highlights: The Singapore noodles' portion was HUGE! They were also an excellent flavor that left you wanting more and more even past the point of being overly full. Would definitely go back for these. The Hong Kong style stir fried beef steak was excellent. Another dish that was so flavorful with a hefty serving. Even delicious as leftovers! I wouldn't mind coming back here when craving Chinese food. Now that we've tried a variety of dishes, I know what I'm getting next time (looking at you Singapore noodles!)

Buyer beware. You definitely get what you pay for. Ordered the tonkotsu, scallion pancakes, soup dumplings and the pork bao buns was pleasantly surprised when I swiped my card for around $32 bucks. I should have gotten a hint when I walked in only to find zero patrons dining. Food was wack. Nothing tasted fresh, ramen felt like it had been frozen and reheated, scallion pancakes tasted more like a flour tortilla with some scallions on it, everything was very disappointing. The place itself was drabby. I had to use the restroom but decided to hold it, didn't want a crap dining experience to be super charged with a crap rr situation. Austin has a dynamic, plethora of Asian restaurants no need to slum it here.

Really excellent food! We just picked up. The food was ready when we showed up and packed incredibly well. We had a fairly long drive home and nothing spilled and everything stayed piping hot. Please see photos! Here's what we ordered: 1 x Original Pork Soup Dumplings (4) $7.75 - they were well executed. 1 x Mala Spicy Soup Dumplings (4) $7.75 - I'm glad I tried them. They were a slightly spicier version of the regular dumplings. 1 x Siu Mai (4) - $5.95 - the family loved these. My husband usually thinks siu mai is bland and he said these were great. 1 x Cilantro Lamb Dumplings (8) Steamed. $10.00 - these were the only thing that nobody enjoyed. They tasted like mint and the dough was very thick. I wouldn't order this dish again. 1 x Eggplant Loves Green Bean -$11.50. My kids always want eggplant and we always want green beans. This was an amazing way to get both. It was enjoyed by all! 1 x Chong Qing Mala Chicken - $13.95 - not what o expected. I thought this was the typical diced, crispy chicken with red chilis throughout. This was more of a steamed chicken with green chilis. It was not as flavorful as I would have liked but because it wasn't so spicy the whole family could eat it. I wouldn't order this again. 1 x Dry Pot Lamb - $16.95 - This was so different. Spicy with the classic Sichuan tingle and burn. It was a very large portion, filled with potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and other veggies. It was very tasty but be warned it's spicy! 1 x Hong Kong Style Stir Fried Beef Steak - $15.95 - I didn't enjoy this dish too much. It was on the sweet side and not what I expected. It certainly wasn't bad but not my personal taste. The family liked it. It's a safe beef dish if you're trying to please a crowd. 1 x Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet - $16.95 - a very well executed version of this dish. The family really enjoyed it. The portions are plentiful and the quality is apparent. While I didn't love all of the items we ordered, I can see this place joining the rotation of our favorite Chinese places. Please like my review and photos if you find them helpful!

    Tonkatsu, Dan Dan Noodles

Eaten here a few times and it's always a hit! Ate in person mid-November. Saw lots of people complaining about the confusion regarding paying for the food at the back of the restaurant-- this wasn't an issue for us. They also gave us regular bowls to eat out of, not the plastic to-go bowls, and everything was hot and delicious. We got the Tonkatsu and Dan Dan Noodles and I believe the Pork Belly Gua Bao. The other two times we ate here, we ordered online earlier this month (December) and ate at home. Including a screenshot of one of our orders. Would not recommend the crispy wings, it needs some type of sauce and wasn't super crispy. Thai style udon was good. Food is packaged nicely but could use instructions if you're unfamiliar with what you ordered, and there's not pictures of every item online. I would rate the Dan Dan Noodles five stars alone!!! It's just the right amount of spice without being overbearing. When we ordered online it was under the appetizers instead of entrees. But I don't feel like the size decreased and I still had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. If you're going to eat here, you must try this dish!

Spicy mala fish filet, dan dan noodles, and pork soup dumplings

Making our way through Austin's Chinese restaurants and Fat Dragon was next on the list. This restaurant when we went was still operating a bit under covid rules: you walk in, go to the front to order at the register, and the food will show up at your table in to-go containers, even if you're dining in. We ordered their pork soup dumplings, dan dan noodles, and the spicy mala fish filet. Their soup dumplings were really tasty with rich pork broth. The dan dan noodles were a bit tricky to eat in the containers and were decent, although not my favorite due to their choice of noodles and overall flavors. The mala fish filet was good, although not as spicy as other fish filet dishes I've had in Austin, but YMMV. Overall quantity of the food was good.

    Garlic eggplant
    Helen E.

We really loved the food at Fat Dragon! We split the garlic eggplant and Hong Kong braised tofu and both were delicious and huge portions. The eggplant was perfectly tender, and the tofu was fried but soft and juicy on the inside (sounds weird but was so yummy). The service and physical restaurant weren't anything special, but I can't wait to try more from their menu.

My first time wasn't too memorable and the second time I got the ultra spicy veggie ramen and it was so spicy I cried (which is good haha i have very high spice tolerance so I'm glad I found a spot that can do truly spicy). This time, I got the deluxe Chicken Paitan DX Ramen (the one that comes with the chicken leg). Chicken Paitan DX Ramen: A sweet soy glazed chicken leg is served on a hot sizzling plate with a small bed of bean sprouts marinating in the sauce. The sauce is a sticky, sweet soy sauce that is so delicious. The chicken leg itself is tender, juicy, and has a great skin texture. The skin soaks up the sauce so well and even has some nice charred bits that add to the flavor and complexity of the dish. The ramen itself was great too. A creamy rich chicken broth. I got the spicy level, so one level under the top spice level and it was perfect. Not unbearably spicy, but had a really nice underlying kick. The noodles are a thin yet snappy noodle so it made it easy to eat. I love the corn and mushroom spirals too! Overall, if you come based on this review, make sure to get the chicken paitan dx ramen. There are only 15 served in a day but ask them if they have it because I was able to get one on a Monday night at around 8PM! It's a nice space, good for a date or even a casual hangout. They have tables to accomodate parties of 1, 2, 4, and possibly 6.

Somehow, against all odds, Ramen Del Barrio still exceeds its reputation. There's only one vegan ramen option but it's all you need, both in terms of portion size and flavor. I've never had anything quite like the mole tsukemen, a Tex-Mex mashup pairing rich mole broth served separately from handmade noodles so thick, you might mistake them for udon at a glance. Simple toppings of fried tortilla strips, avocado, charred jalapeno, and caramelized onions adorn the top. Before this moment, I thought I just wasn't a fan of mole. It turns out, I had never tried great mole before. This stuff dazzles with layered spices, melded so well that I can't pick a single one out from the pack. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but definitely leaves your lips tingling. I'm glad I finally got there before they close up shop at their current location in Hana World Market on December 21st, and even happier to know that their new brick-and-mortar isn't too far behind. Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.
