I went on a Sunday morning when they opened at 9am. Free street parking around the area. There was a line, but it went by quickly. I thought the price for the pastries were on the higher end. I tried the macadamia nut with pineapple and coconut. It was alright. It was def flaky, but slightly over-baked so it was kinda crunchy. I expected more pineapple too. I def tasted the macadamia nut and coconut. It wasn't worth $10 imo. I'll try another pastry in the future and see if it's better. read more

Went in on a Saturday around 1:30 pm to try to get something after seeing and hearing about them through various social media platforms. This place sells out quick, went last week around the same time and it was sold out. Luckily when I came in today they had 5 ham and cheese and 4 hot dog left. Both were magnificent, very tasty, crispy and flaky. I ordered two ham and cheese and one hot dog. Service was quick and friendly and I was told obviously to come in earlier to try other items. After trying whatever I could, I understand why they sell out. It's a small spot with a couple table and they serve some coffee/other drinks as well. Can't wait to get back in and try some other goods. Trust, it's fire. Quality fire. Pricey but fire. Haha read more

This bakery is only open Friday through Sunday. I went on a Sunday morning, and there was a line outside. It is a small bakery with two or three tables by the window. They also sell coffee, which I didn't try. By the time it was my turn, some of their croissants were sold out. I got the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, hazelnut chocolate bar, and pumpkin spice croissant. The pumpkin spice croissant was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet and was filled with pumpkin cream inside. I didn't like the hazelnut chocolate bar. It was a little too sweet for me. Overall it was pretty good but not sure why there was a hype and a long line out the door. I also think it was a little on the pricey side. It was like $30 for four items. read more

I got to try one of the cafes from my must-try list! I was super excited to try this cafe. They had a huge range of sweet and savory options. The first day I went in the afternoon, it was mostly sold out with 2-3 options left, so I decided to go back the next morning when it opened. With no surprise, there was a line. I found the prices a bit more expensive than other local bakeries. I like the strawberry milk croissant more than the mango one I got. I would get it again as a special treat. read more

Bakery only open on weekends for now. Been waiting for them to open since their soft opening was on labor day. They opened at 7 am today and a few hours later still a super long line outside. Only 3 people working inside. The almond croissant is actually really good, fluffy and plenty of almond filling. The Kimchi, pimento and potato Danish is unique and people who like kimchi will enjoy this one for sure. Plenty of non-metered parking outside. They take credit cards and Highly recommend. read more

We tried a few different sweet and savory pastries for breakfast. All of them were fantastic!! We came early on a Sunday morning and it was not too busy or sold out yet. Today was my first time trying the Fat Peach. I bought an assortment, ham &cheese croissant, lemon meringue, banana bread and chocolate croissant. The ingredients are good, the pastries were good but nothing will be bringing me back in a hurry with that price point. The pastries are over priced especially in today's climate. Maybe since they only open 3 days they mark everything up to make up for it. read more

My new favorite thing to do is to catch up with friends over coffee and a pastry at a new, local coffee shop. I was so excited to hear a new and amazing cafe and bakery was opening up near my neighborhood. Be warned, depending on when you come in, there may be a line. The first time I came in with my daughter one weekend morning there was a line. It was totally worth the 10 minute wait. Also, they only make so many pastries for the day and the time they sell out varies so the earlier you get here, the better your chances of scoring the best treats. There are only a few tables and chairs so something to consider, too. I tried coming in earlier than my friend, the second time to make sure we had seats to catch up. We got really lucky on a mild Saturday morning around 10am. There was only 2 people in line in front of us and plenty of pastries in case. We ordered almost one of everything since we live pretty far away. My husbands favorite was the strawberry milk croissant and my favorite was the cinnamon bun. The dough was croissant-like, light and flaky with tons of cinnamon and frosting was a different goopy-like texture. The mushroom danish was also very good. And I liked the savory quiche more than ham and cheese croissant. All of their pastries were great really. And the owners were super nice as well. read more

Every time I go to Fat Peach I come away reeling from how they continue to innovate on classic baked goods to an absolutely delicious result. I've had at least a dozen different items and not once have I been anything less than totally impressed. Beyond that, the service is great. The owners are cool, and Cecilia is the most friendly and helpful employee, and always helps me with great recommendations. Worth the visit. Got there about 10 minutes before open and waited in a line of maybe 25 deep. Ended up getting the Strawberry Milk which was as great as everyone says. Was my daughter's favorite as well. Then got Apple pecan danish, pumpkin and raspberry cinnamon with espresso cream cheese. Everything was really good and worth the trip. read more

Wow, what a cute bakery! The chick working the front was super personable and fun, I believe her name is Cecilia. She gave some great recommendations on the pastries. I had the lemon olive cake, strawberry milk croissant and the curried squash and cauliflower tart. They were DELICIOUS! They have a seating area where you can enjoy your treat and/or coffee, next to some incredible hand drawn birds and squirrels on the windows! I definitely recommend going on Friday earlier in the day to make sure you don't miss out on any pastries because they do sell out fast! read more

This is simply not worth it and is extremely over hyped. $14 for two tiny pastries that weren't anything special (I got the ham and cheese croissant and the banana bread) is ridiculous. The line going out the door makes you think this is something special - it's not. They just move very very slow inside. Chatting up each customer while the line forms. Maybe it's on purpose. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone. Two stars because the taste of the pastries was ok. read more

Sorry ....for the strawberry milk croissant.... it was just so-so to me ! I did not love it ! But it is for sure looking great, looking super fresh and yummy. This was my first time visiting this pastry shop. A friend recommended this bakery place as her house is just nearby. Prices are super high ! Very high ! I took a look at all the pastries on the display table, then I said, "1 each please". I have not tried other pastries yet, they are still in the box right now. Love to support local stores. Fat Peach's selection is unique - a variety of savory and sweet pastries incorporating kimchi, goat cheese, hazelnut, etc. They also serve traditional things like cinnamon rolls, croissants (almond, chocolate, etc), too. Their strawberry milk croissant is one of my favorites. I don't usually like strawberry, but they do it well. I'm a sucker for chocolate and have gotten the hazelnut chocolate bar twice and was underwhelmed and consequently disappointed. Overall, Fat Peach is a very welcome bakery to the neighborhood and am thankful for the high-quality. We go once a month, but the pastries are not cheap, especially for a mostly grab-and-go kind of bakery on the south side. Last weekend, a spinach and cheese croissant and a cinnamon roll were $6 each and those were the cheapest pastries available. Very good artisanal pastries, but it's a little pricey to be the regulars we would like to be. Still, I'm so happy they are doing well and frequently have lines when they open. read more

Nice, welcomed revamp of the Bridgeport Bakery! The offerings set a high standard. I only tried the chocolate and almond croissants, and they were outrageously good. The items are expensive, but you do get what you pay for, as the work that goes into each offering appears complex and well thought out. The pride of their work is obvious. It's just that I could not come in here and buy a box of rolls as an office treat, as it would set me back too much. Three croissants were $18. Still the quality is top as a personal splurge. read more

Finally made it to this bakery after several failed attempts. Got there bright and early on a cold day and was 5th in line, so plenty to pick from in the pastry case. Got 4 pastries to try, but ultimately not super impressed, especially given the effort required to buy them. The strawberry milk croissant was a creative touch on croissants and the croissant itself was shatteringly crispy. The almond croissant was terrible because there was way too much almond extract. It's also very small for the price. The sausage peperronata was interesting but not something I'd crave for breakfast. The last pastry I forgot the exact name, but the flavors were good. While the pastry itself is excellent, not all of the flavors were to my liking. Also find prices too high for a neighborhood joint (have had better & cheaper pastries from west loop). Glad I tried it but personally not my top choice for pastries in the city. read more

Was glad to see that a new place had taken over the old bakery that used to be here. Have been wanting to visit for some months now. Unfortunately, when I got there some of the pastries was already sold out. They mainly had sweets left so just got a mango and vanilla choux pastry and a mixed berry danish. For the choux pastry, I did not like the mango filling much but the vanilla cream and choux pastry itself was good. For the danish, the cream cheese and filling was just alright. It was not the best danish I have had in Chicago. Wish I was able to try some of their other options instead. So far, I am not understanding all the hype this place has been receiving. Their pastries are on the higher end in term of pricing when compared to other bakeries with similar items I have visited. Maybe I will try coming again another time to try other items and edit this review. read more

Got there by 8:45 and a line had already formed. They opened promptly at 9 am. It's adorable inside, but not more than a few tables to sit at. Had three different pastries (almond croissant, raspberry hazelnut danish, and apple caramel danish). They were all great, but the apple caramel was surprisingly my least favorite. Also ordered an iced vanilla latte and the espresso flavor really came through on it! The place was great and it's nice to have a pastry shop like this in Bridgeport! Prices might be a little high, but there's a lot of work that goes into making laminated dough. The baked goods are also creative, well-presented, and very good quality. I don't mind paying a little more to help support a high quality neighborhood business. read more

What an absolute gem of a bakery to take over what was a long cherished establishment inside of the neighborhood. Fat Peach Bakery did not disappoint. I had the strawberry milk and the ham and cheese and the lamination on the croissants is truly impressive. These are fresh made with high quality ingredients and it shows in the final product. I went around 1030am on a cold Sunday and walked right in and out with my treats. This couple deserves all of the attention and then some - BRAVO FAT PEACH! read more

Wanted to see what the hype was all about this place, I drove by and there was a line coming out the door. I came back in an hour and there was no line. I went inside to see the selection of pastries and I was disappointed, very limited selection and over priced. $6.50 for a croissant, the ham and cheese was salty. You can taste the burnt edges on the croissant, I spent $13.00 for 2 croissants and I didn't enjoy it. No peach anything in the place, I was looking forward to finding something with peach in it. Don't think I want to go back anytime soon read more
